182  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Need a PayPal refund for your BFL purchase? on: November 20, 2013, 07:54:04 AM
Paypal also declined to accept my refund claim and suggested I called Amex - the card I used to fund the paypal purchase. Fortunately I was just within a 6 month window and despite declining on a previous call Amex decided to accept the disputed charge. That was on September 23rd. BFL had 8 Weeks to respond to Amex and they did not so the chargeback was awarded to me today. Total was for 12 Single SC's 60's so not a trivial amount of money. During the process BFL shipped all 12 singles and I had to refuse them. That was tough as the chargeback was not completed. In the end it worked out and I am now at "breakeven".

Good riddance BFL. I hope you appear as a footnote in Bitcoin history as the ASIC company that sucked the most and in the end, proved to be completely irrelevant. As for the individuals involved, you are already irrelevant to my reality - not that you give a shit.

While you are at it , would you know when did the official 14 days of mining period start & what happened to the mining revenue earned of new hardware received before 14 days of mining period started  Huh  , If Lab_rat has different understanding about this please share it with us so we know whats going on Smiley

I've pushed him to drop by and clarify, and do some Q&A.  We'll see how that works out.

My understanding at this point is that the 14 day clock will start when the last of the hardware in the current order arrives, which should happen very soon.  The new hardware that has previously arrived has been mining in isolation (which is why divs have been low) and 100% of the proceeds mined between arrival and the close of the 14 day clock will go to new hardware.

(Hardware) will start rolling in next week and what it accumulates between time of arrival and 14 days after it is all received will 100% go into additional hardware.

grnbrg.

Dang ! I am ashamed that I miss this bit from Lab_rat's post , thank you for clearing this up for me grnbrg , I apologize to Lab_rat for my oversight & lack of reading comprehension  Embarrassed Embarrassed Embarrassed

I am all sorted for now in regards to my LRM doubts I had Smiley

Certainly looking forward to the end of the 14 days and some details on the results! Exciting times - Cavirtex $650 CDN as of this post  Grin

187  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: November 16, 2013, 02:35:45 AM
It prevents people like me who don't have a lot of BTC to increase our share count in LRM, as 0.025 on 1 or 2 shares is a lot, compared to their selling price

While I understand that frustration, that is exactly the intent of the minimum fee.  Verifying and registering a trade is currently a manual and fairly labour intensive process, and it's not worth my time to oversee trades for a $0.25 fee.

Lab_Rat has indicated he is looking into an automated trading solution of some sort, which will have a much lower fee for small trades.  I don't have an ETA.

grnbrg.

Just maybe the Bitfunder dude will give the backend to LR as some form of recompense for the massive FUBAR - that'd be great.

In fact, perhaps he could license the setup to other companies so they can manage their own structures. I think this is a deficit for private companies at the moment and some form of donation based semi open sourced licensed config like Bitfunder would help a lot
188  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: November 14, 2013, 04:26:35 AM
But in real news.  LRM has about 12-13TH up, another 17TH going up by end of day Tuesday and I believe only one more shipment (maybe 2) from Dave of an unknown size before the 14 day period officially begins.  This shipment is all but guaranteed to be this coming week.

Any news about the new hardware and the start of the "14 days period" ?

Can't believe I missed the point about what is online and what is coming..... very exciting to see for sure. How about an update on the shipments? Grnbrg, a tweet perhaps?

Also - quick and very dirty estimate of .0013 ish in dividends per bond Saturday assuming we are at 30 TH today and the for the rest of the week. Still nowhere near the high of .0019 in September. (I look forward to being corrected  Tongue)

I bet LR is not getting much sleep with all that integration and setting up! Go Zach! Where do I send the redbull?
189  Economy / Services / Re: Butter Bot!: New Bitstamp, BTC-E, and MtGox EMA Trading Platform on: November 14, 2013, 03:53:56 AM
I have spent the last 20 - 30 minutes looking through this thread and the website and cannot readily identify the current version and feature set.

Many posts were made in regards to supporting LTC and V2, V3, V4 "in a few weeks" and "coming soon" - has this been done?

While I am seriously interested in this tool, I really cannot justify the purchase without some reference to the current version and a comprehensive feature list.

Edited for: one more suggestion is to please add a list of pending updates / development path - you speak to them often in the forum so seeing them organized into one place might help with communications to the fan / userbase
190  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: YES, you can get a REFUND from BFL on: November 12, 2013, 08:56:48 PM
Except... none of it ever happened.  Cool story, though, bro!

Josh, be careful where you tread. I've warned you once before about spouting off to the wrong people. I am not PuertoLibre or some other BFL troll. I've spent tens of thousands of dollars with your company and have a solid BitcoinTalk reputation. I have resold and mined both your FPGA and ASIC lines, and have made quite a bit of coin doing so. On top of this, I have over $100,000 on the sidelines right now that I am waiting to put back into mining equipment once the difficulty becomes more predictable and your company is in consideration if you are able to actually deliver your 28nm products with a reasonable price, hashrate, and power consumption.

So watch your fucking "facts" when you attempt to call either me or my friend a liar. The fact of the matter is that I coached 1 family member and 4 friends into buying machines of different sizes from your company and on September 19th sent them an email saying to cancel their orders because we were crossing the point of no return on investment. The family member received their miners early enough to sell them for a good profit. Of the friends, one had no problems at all cancelling, one had a problem where after several weeks of harassing Paypal finally had the reversal approved, only to have the account Paypal was drawing on as empty, and the other two have not been able to get a refund, although they haven't been particularly aggressive with paypal either. As such, two of my friends had some amount of dollars sewn up with your company in an interest free loan for some time, and two of them are going to take a large loss, one of them at a time in his life where he really needs a win.

And I hold you responsible due to the complete and utter fabrications called timelines you've delivered to us in the past 17 months. In your quest to dominate the market, you have sucker punched people who are now literally homeless, causing fights between their spouse and them, and adding astounding stress to their lives. And so, I understand that you can easily sit there and type complete lies that ruin people, and as such you think it must be easy for everyone else to just lie.

But I'll tell you now, Josh, I'm no liar. My friend who had this bounced paypal issue is no liar. So, I would get your "cool story" straight before you respond to me again.

SNAP!
191  Economy / Securities / Re: Lab Rat Data Processing, LLC (LabRatMining) Official Announcement on: November 12, 2013, 07:39:37 PM

Numbers taken from these very low liquidity markets should be expressed with huge error bars IMHO. This is very useful info, and I thank you for collecting it and compiling it, but large error bars must be used to stop people extrapolating from very small data sets. (Many people are just really stupid I'm afraid, and will read more into these metrics than anyone ever should.)

Thanks again though, I think this is an important job.

mmerlin -- you're spot on.  The data that I'm aggregating should not be regarded as financial advice or even technical analysis even in a future state.  The amount of data are sparse, and, frankly, it's so sparse that it would be difficult to even calculate an appropriate margin for error.  From a statistical perspective, the whole data set would likely fall into margins for error.  There simply is insufficient data.  But, I will start tracking volume, shares traded, pricing, and yield so that people have *something* tangible.  Ultimately, however, people will have to consider their own risk tolerance.

grnbrg -- thanks for the pointer to when we were capturing to bitfunder data on greater frequency.  Maybe I can find an explanation for those 127 shares.  I happened to have worked for one of "those" audit firms in one of my past lives, so it'll be an interesting exercise.

I'll add my thanks for taking the time..... and add the point raised often in this forum that without some specific guidance from lab_rat in the form of financial statements, we are running blind. Quarterly Income statements and a balance sheet (management prepared) must be doable. Its fine to run any business with shoebox accounting when you are on your own but not with so many stakeholders. Not to say lab_rat is doing so, but without specific evidence to the contrary we are left wondering.  Tongue

I need a little clarity,

I thought it would only be 14 days total of dividends (minus the ~5TH) going to LRM directly but now it seems that it's all the days until "All the boards come in" + 14 Days so it actually ends up being over 21 days or am I misunderstanding.

I ask the same question but no answer so I assume answer is yes

Whatever the answer - it is all going to hardware. Curious also if any is the November KNC batch - sorely tempted to pull the trigger on that

Hey man , LRM posted info about signing shares on bitfunder , on this forum here & also on his website , so he done the best he can I think in this regards , share holders have responsibility about their shares tooo Smiley

I understand my responsibilities, hence my regularly checking the News section on Bitfunder.
But am I the only one who doesn't see any such info on Bitfunder? The last update I got was from 2013-09-26, "LabRatMining : LabRatMining is past 5TH!!!"

Ok My bad , no news on bitfunder Sad   , I think Lab_Rat should put some thing on bitfunder news section about moving away from bitfunder but at the same time people can find link to this thread under Summary of LRM on bitfunder so if looking for info they should end up here or on LRM website.

Good to know you got the message & have done your part Smiley

Agreed - a message in the LRM news section on Bitfunder is needed - perhaps it is still not too late.....

yeah, stick with the chargeback buddy.

**** UPDATED ***** Amex says Two More Weeks until chargeback process is complete. Where have I heard that before? 11 of the 12 units have been refused and BFL still shipped the 12th which now on its first leg of a round trip to Kansas.

People can't be unaware of Bitfunder shutdown...

It's in Frontpage.

And LabRat posted in 3 different places.
I can understand some people only buy share because they're available on Bitfunder and they don't check Bitcointalk or BFL forum.

But not anymore.

Could be numerous reasons why they don't know. Holidays, sickness, etc etc

I think the fairest thing is for LabRat to hold the shares for them, keep the dividends for them too. Then when they come back one day, its all waiting for them. This is the fairest way. LR may be able to take a 5% fee for keeping a record of it all, but that it.

Not fair to simply take the shares off the shareholders just because they didn't know to reply.

It is responsibility of both parties seller & buyer to know state of their shares & particularly if you own huge quantity of shares , if LRM has done his bit but got no response in reasonable time , then shares should be dissolved into LRM.

Great to see a lively discussion regarding this issue..... whatever the outcome lets hope that the vast majority if not all of the orphans are sorted out before a deadline
