183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tesla no longer accepts Bitcoin payments on: May 13, 2021, 12:04:04 PM
I mean, it doesn't matter if the research he's referencing is accurate or factual. What Tesla, and therefore Elon is trying to do is make their brand look good. Tesla are pushing the agenda that by using their products they are helping the environment, and is bettering climate change. Which means, if they implement a currency which is linked with increasing the effects of climate change, they need to distance themselves from that as much as possible, since it doesn't matter if its correct, its the perception of their customers. I wouldn't be surprised if Bitcoin was implemented just to they could pull this stunt to try gain the trust of their potential customers.

Thus wouldn't ADA be the better investment ?

Elon sure has a lot of power lol
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: WeedPunkz | NFT Trading Cards | NEW Website OUT! Enter to win a free NFT! on: May 10, 2021, 03:19:35 PM
I read a lot about NTF, but for me there is still no exact understanding of how it works. Sale of intellectual property rights on a blockchain basis. But how does this work with tangible and not digital goods, are they sent or what?

Even I cant understand the NFT thing and whats the purpose of holding NFT. But in games i understand its like holding coins to play better. But other than that I dont know the use of it . If somebody here can explain it then it will be better. I googled it but still didnt understand properly.

NFT's are the new shiny thing and FOMO caused big prices some times. One of the first similar item I can recall were the eTops cards..  ( Electronic Cards)
I actually still have some from the first year they started it in 2000.  They idea was you never touch your card, you buy and sell on a platform and the real Item
( which is the difference from an NFT) was kept in a Safe. If you ever wanted the physical Item you could pay a fee to receive it. There was much controversy with many saying your just throwing your money away. However I will throw a little money away at almost anything new lol..    20 yrs later they still trade today.

So with the NFT digital art you have nothing physical but a cool idea and just like eTopps limited items. I think its here to stay as its new, its fun and it throws the finger up at conventional investments just like Bitcoin did at fiat currency. And who doesn't like that ")

Although I made some money on his stock I run from anything he does now. He should be on Dr. Phil maybe they could find out what's wrong with him.

where can i mine doge coin and what software do i need the links here are out of date?

update. ok i found the miner cpu miner but what is a good doge pool to use

you will have to go to a mining thread,  I think LTC and DOGE mine together at the same time...   application specific miners are best

192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Dogecoin Price Prediction on: April 21, 2021, 08:10:27 PM
Now that DOGE is massively adopted by people in the mainstream world, I'm starting to wonder what the price per coin will be in the future? While you and I know that the odds of Dogecoin reaching astronomical levels in price are very low, anything could happen in this strange and bizarre world of crypto. With Elon Musk in the game, we might be closer to the moon than we've ever imagined. Tongue

What are your predictions for Dogecoin's price in the long term? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you Smiley
I have faith that the market will soon see a strong growth, and then the top coins of the market will benefit. With Dogecoin it has been getting a lot of pumping, so I find it very risky to invest, but I would not be surprised if dogecoin surpassed $1.
Yeah, it is risky but we will not surprise if the price break $1. I cant believe that a meme coin can gain so much attention from investors, from instituations to individuals. How hilarious our world is. I still feel that this is a major pump and dump which the dump will occur in the next few weeks (or month if people are still in the mood for doge)

even if it is a pump and dump it has undeniably become a store of value. Maybe the world will become attached to the DOGE Shiba Inu like Japan is to the MONA Cat
193  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: The First crypto's and World Faucet account on: April 21, 2021, 06:46:23 PM
I think this was it, I found the info below on an old site..... interesting history for sure !

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=183.0

Fun history: The faucet that used to give you 5 BTC per day.
LEGACY
It may sound shocking now, but in 2010 it was reality.

The creator of website “freebitcoins.appspot.com” where user could collect free Bitcoins is Gavin Andresen. The website is not working anymore. Each of users received 5 Bitcoins per day just by solving captcha. The purpose of this game was to promote cryptocurrencies and Bitcoin itself. Looks like the purpose got fullfilled.

This is how the default page of the faucet looked like.

To fuel the first faucet, Andresen loaded it with 1,100 BTC of his own. After these were given away, the faucet was reloaded, with early bitcoin miners and whales also donating coins.

Andresen said that: “Bitcoins are a new kind of money, and that they aren’t created or controlled by a government like USD or EUR, they’re created and controlled by anybody who wants to be part of the Bitcoin payment network.”

This faucet managed to give away to people 19,700 Bitcoins which is now worth $1,171,852,530.

Here is the Andresens original post about the faucet that he posted in June 11, 2010. I highly recommend you to read it. To imagine that someone gave him back 50 BTCs just because he felt bad for getting 5 for free is ridiculous now.

I thought it would be great idea to share this nice piece of history.

Have a nice day !

thanks that might of been it,  I had my user name and password but had forgotten where the site was. I use to mess with it all the time.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / The First crypto's and World Faucet account on: April 21, 2021, 05:20:58 PM
I was just wondering if anyone remembers around 2013 the name of the website that had the first ten or so cryptocurrencies on it.
It was a faucet account meaning you opened an account and they dripped different currencies in at different times and rates.
There was NXT XRP DOGE and XPM to name a few. It may of also been associated with your visitations to certain websites.
Seems it was called something like "World Wide crypto"
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: | NEO Smart Economy⚡Now a Top 10 Cryptocurrency⚡| Official Thread |Updated Aug10 on: April 20, 2021, 03:52:40 PM
$200 in a week imo

Due to the current market situation we might see downfall in most of the potential coins like NEO, we don't why the market is crashing and what are the basic reasons but with the downtrend, it is impossible to regain their prices. For everything, we have to see how far the market will collapse.

Mainly because a fund sold $7B or so BTC few days back,  then some profit taking across the board after news like that. Crypto is here to stay however so no worries on long term investments.

Quarterly revenue growth is to good for a firm to be contemplating shorting anytime soon. I will be interested in its Beta and how BTC price will effect the stock as compared to RIOT.
