what is the required minimum internet speed connection for mining 50 Gbs ? or lets say you have 150 Gbs will hash rate improve significantly if doubled to 300 Gbs?
just kind of curious right now thanks for any input
Mining itself uses VERY little internet bandwidth. A typical home cable or even DSL connection will handle most mining just fine (unless you have a mining farm). The speed of your internet connection will have no effect on your hash rate. If you are also running a full bitcoin node, it will use a good bit more bandwidth, but should be handled fine by a normal always-on internet connection. Again, there will be no hash rate increase regardless of your internet speed. Also, I think you are getting hash rate and internet speed confused. When you say "minimum internet speed connection for mining 50 Gbs", I think you have it backwards. If I understand what you're saying correctly, you should say "what is the minimum internet speed connection for mining 50 TH/s". Not measuring by internet speed, but by hash rate. I hope I've been clear. yes thank you ! I meant Mbps dont know what I was thinking I will be mining this year so just checking a few things out

this is what I was looking for, I have 50 Mbps and access to 200 Mbps which sounds like what I want to run a full node

I got a wallet from coinbase as I saw some where it was rated the best. I notice every time I buy some BTC there is a small transaction fee like $2. I also notice the price for BTC always seems to be $15 to $20 higher than what its actually trading at. The current price in coinbase may differ to what the btcs current price in other exchanges. That 2$ fee charged from your transaction is for the purchase not an incomming transaction fee. My questions are, is this typical of all wallets? No. Coinbase is an exchange wallet. It differs functionality to other clients like a desktop wallet, hardware wallet, paper wallet, web wallets. etc. Also I've never received BTC is there incoming fee's?
No. Fee is only charged upon sending a transaction. The sender always shoulder the fee and not the receiver. Thanks all thats a lot of good info, I'll be moving some BTC to my other wallet today. Just playing around with small amounts ( under $100) till i get use to it all. I'm sure in the comings months/years there will be new services to look at and try. Main thing was I wanted to be able to learn all I can and pass that along to friends and family in the future. great forum So I thing its better for lock this thread right now if you realize that the solution are mentioned above are pretty much enough to come a decision about Best wallet. sure as soon as its not active, seems a few people still have some relevant input. Who locks threads the initiator or a Mod ?

It is dropping as i post this, i wil catch it around 550--600 range. Buying now is not safe.
no i firmly convinced that it can drop under $700, there are two reason for this under $600 miner will not make profit, and if china is controlling this the answer is clear second reason is, the pump started at $700, so below that is safe wish there was a way to "Like" a post. Amph is spot on, its just been a month of volatility Its fun to invest but never bet your home on any one thing. 30 day Chart says strong support in low $700's and possibly bounce off of $800's . http://bitcointicker.co/

Guys , can someone tell me what is happening with Bitcoin ? In only 2 hours his price dropped over 10% . Now his price is 880$. What should i do? Sell my bitcoins or buy more?
This might be an opportunity to buy more btc before it will rally again to go up. Some whales want the price to drop and buy a lot of btc and sell them again at high price. In the last year Bitcoin has caught the eye of Investment Fund Managers. Recently the Chinese were buying in as their Yuan was going down. India has also recently been attracted to Bitcoin helping increase its demand. Indonesia is the latest as this crypto currency is getting deeper and deeper into the rest of the worlds fiat financially structured norm. Of course bitcoin was already steaming ahead these just acted as a currency catalyst. The very day the Yuan gained strength the wind was let out of the sail and Fund managers with millions invested took profits accounting for the fast large drops. So Bitcoin has become an Equity for investment purposes now. No longer a speculative curiosity. The good news is even though it just took a hit it is going to move along again full steam ahead with many more Investors around the world seeing its long term potential. This is all just my opinion from what I have observed the last few years and my experience in the markets. All you guys that stayed with this and became miners, enthusiast and or physical bitcion creators/artist should be commended for your efforts not to mention its creator (Satoshi)

Yeah it's typical of all places that you buy bitcoin from, its a premium above the spot price that gives them some profit. Do you realise that by keeping bitcoin at Coinbase you are keeping it in their wallet not yours ? they can decide if you get it or not. research paper wallets (which are free, bitaddress.org) or hardware wallets (Trezor, ledgerwallet, keepkey) to secure your own bitcoin (your wallet) Appreciate the info guys, I do have another wallet ( Blockchaine ) which I have never used.. I was thinking I would buy at coinbase and send to my phone wallet... didnt want to get fee'd to death though ya know lol. I also have several collectible wallets but think I will leave them be.

Yes probably they just wanted to be kind to me, and the community manager might not have any idea about what cryptocurrency is all about.
It feels wrong when you see something that is going to change the traditional practices and when you try to share that vision with someone with whom you used to deal with, and they refuse to accept it (using best possible positive words).
We can see the same future, what Google saw in the late nineties and Paypal is doing the same what Yahoo did in the same period. I won’t be surprised if I see Bitpay having more turnover and user base in next 10 to 15 years than that of Paypal.
Bitpay could become a takeover target

Who owns that coin today?
You may have missed it, but there was a post on reddit from an owner of this coin. It was taken down, but you might still be able to find it. well its a fascinating story to me, I bought the book from Elias Ahenon ( great guy) back in the summer and after reading it I am totally hooked. oh he said he has some hard copies with slightly damaged corner in the San Fran warehouse for very low price. I was curious if anyone remembers what the last sale price was of one of the original 5 1,000 BTC . Also what should one fetch today, like my dad always said its worth what someone will pay for it lol The link above showed a set of 20 series two 1,000 BTC which i think some were confusing for the original Last one's were rumored to have sold for around a million. in today's market I would not be surprised if it gets a couple hundred thousand for a premium on top of the price of BTC and gold. Thanks for info, Have to agree

how does the escrow work?
The buyer would send the desired amount to a trusted third party. The third party will notify the seller that the money is received. The seller then sends out the product and once the buyer receives it, the third party releases the money to the seller. OR buyer gives bitcoins to the escrow You ship the item to the escrow, escrow verifies the item releases the bitcoins to you escrow ships item to buyer ok thanks you guys !
