hi, i have same problem, tried to to abandon transaction following instructions here and the output was - transaction is not eligible for abandonment...
is there any chance to add more fees to existing transaction? or any other ways to make it work?
thank you!
What is the transaction ID?

people won't use bitcoin for remittance except if there is a stable market in their country they can sell in and with very low fees. because if the fees are high, people will go to Money gram and its similar because they are more efficient
This is the perfect place to use bitcoin. If you have high inflation rate, people should use bitcoin for remittances. Then get the people you are paying to use it too and never cash out into the local currency that is inflating away the value of the currency. Then you don't have to worry about the inflation rate problems - in Nigeria, Venezuela or elsewhere.

Hlo can we cancel bitcoin transaction. Is it possible?
Do you have a transaction id? Has it been confirmed? If yes, then you can't cancel it.

"I find this very unlikely since it would mean 3 blocks were solved within 15 minutes." What about time for a transaction when all blocks and all BTC will be mined? What then? How BTC will be transfered then? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) The same way it is transferred now. "All blocks" will never be mined as long as one computer is running it.

Kim is a successful businessman ,the government did not like his line of work and stole his money and wanted him jailed. he just provided a platform and he never released any pirated content. It is the same like suing the ISP for the illegal downloads their customers do. Things dont work like that no matter how much money MPAA and others spend on that For the clarification of OP, you are talking about the MegaNet project which is proposed to be completed only by 2018.According to him ,the dream project MegaNet has a unique file crystallization and recreation protocol utilizing the blockchain. You can load entire websites with this new technology and it makes them immune to almost all hacker attacks and ddos. It does not mean he will incorporate that with the bitcoin ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) . Blockchain does have a wider scope of utilization capabilities rather than just bitcoin, hope people will understand those soon I believe OP is talking about what he said, "Megaupload 2.0" and not "MegaNet". e.g. https://torrentfreak.com/megaupload-2-0-to-launch-with-original-megaupload-user-database-160708/https://twitter.com/KimDotcomKim Dotcom @KimDotcom Aug 10 I'll definitely need more security guards for the #Megaupload 2.0 launch ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

I sent BTC to another wallet about 9-10 hours ago. So far it has only 1 confirmation. This never happened to me before. I've always gotten 3 confirmations in under 15 mins max. Why is this taking so long and is this normal?
I sent the BTC to Localbitcoins. So now I can't access it from anywhere as it won't be available on Localbitcoins until it has 3 confirmations. Should I be worried?
the time of 3 confirmations varied because of many elements. like the transaction fees and how fast miners mine a new block. so the average time is 30 minutes because a block should me mined every 10 minutes Imagine if you're trying to spend BitCoin in real life, that a BitCoin mechants accepts... Will it take him 30 minutes to receive that coins? That's why it's slow. ...says the person who types it "BitCoin". ![Roll Eyes](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif) @OP, average block generation time is 10 minutes, so on average you should expect 3 confirmations in 30 minutes IF the transaction fee was appropriate. Luck plays a roll here - there could be three blocks in 10 minutes, or it could take an hour for the next block. Just note that there are two separate issues here. Transaction time is nearly instant, a few seconds. So the merchant "receive that coins" very quickly. Confirmation time takes longer, but the number of confirmations you need depends on the real world scenario that is involved. If you were buying a million euro house, you might want to wait 50 or 100 confirmations. If you were buying a coffee at a coffee shop you go to every day, zero confirmations could be enough. There are hundreds of messages on her discussing the difference between the two.

wasn't this the place that turned out to be keeping their cold storage in the ceo's girlfriend's moms closet? ...
You are thinking of the United States State Department's Secretary of State's email server, right? :-) That is pretty funny though - cold storage in the closet. At least do it in the freezer.

After not accessing my Bitcoin Wallet on a rarely used computer for a couple of years, I did so about a month ago. I received the subject message and that the synchronization with the network was 1 year and 48 weeks behind. I Googled and searched, tried many possible solutions; it actually started processing at one point, but quit after about a week's worth of transactions. Today I decided to reset Bitcoin Core and changed my router's security level to low. Port 8333 is forwarded to the IP address of that computer. Restarted and without changing anything, synchronization began. It's now down to 1 year 24 weeks behind with 8 nodes/services connected (first I've seen of any connections).
Well, big sigh of relief ... hoping this may be of assistance to someone else with this problem.
"Reset Bitcoin core"? What version were/are you running?

because an internet site asks me to use a 34-character format.
thank you for response.
If the website is stripping off the whitespace, and isn't aware that bitcoin addresses aren't all 34 characters, then I'd avoid that website. They clearly don't understand what they are doing well enough to do it properly and you are likely to have lots of problems in the future with things they don't do well. Danny is correct. If they don't have something that basic down, you should avoid them. HOWEVER, if you absolutely have to use them, you can generate some new addresses and look for one that matches the 34 characters they are looking for.

You should move this out of technical support, since you clearly don't want "technical support" and are just trolling. Again, we need to see the log file. Just telling us how long it is taking does not help at all. The information you are giving us is not enough for anyone to diagnose the problem or be able help you.
If you give us the log file, we can better help you. Otherwise, just kill it and restart the program. It will not redownload the blockchain and it should not corrupt the database.
Close & Open Bitcoin Core fast, it will Open 2 bitcoin in TaskManager, then close & Open again, or remove the power from your PC, or The battery if its a laptop. That's enough to Make "Activating Best Chain." Or try to run in server mode with latest guiminer. You Don't Need my lol file, you can have your own. LOL. Do it specially when you are 1 year behind. You won't regret it. LOL. Jajajajajaja Up Time 0:23:18:15 Still processing...

...both fail memory test.. exactly the same place. ...
You should definitely get this resolved as this is a very memory intensive process.

Hi, I am currently running a full node, and running out of space. For technical reasons I many not be able to upgrade to storage for a while.
1) If I have some more space on another partition, is there a way to tell Core to concatenate another chainstate folder(s) to the current one? (So it will use the space I have on another partition).
2) What are the consequences of using pruning? Will that impact my ability to send/receive txs, or it just means I can't fully verify everey tx?
3) What does the 'n' in "prune=<n>" stand for, and what is a good configuration to use?
Many thanks!
Here is some info on pruning: https://github.com/bitcoin/bitcoin/blob/v0.11.0/doc/release-notes.md#block-file-pruning"N is the number of MB to allot for raw block & undo data." And https://bitcoin.org/en/release/v0.12.0#wallet-pruning

24c0e3543b02442bbfb0e5f117029f921ffa41aed9fb3f32078b2552dfa79274 this is the offending txid ![Angry](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/angry.gif) As knight said, that block was orphaned, so you would have to contact blockchain.info support if you were trying to transfer from the old blockchain.info wallet to the new one.

I have the seed words. Honestly, I don'r even remember it asking me to set up a password initially. I only discovered this when went to move some of my btc and it asked me for a password.
Yes, as long as you have the seed words, you are fine. Glad you got it figured out!

I recently installed an Electrum wallet. In trying to access it, I discovered that I have misplaced my password. I have the private keys recorded but for some reason, the password wasn't with them. How can I re-access my btc?
If you have no password you are screwed up, try to remember it very hard! Do you remember anything about it like 1 or even more letters? if yes you can try to brutforce it, just wait more experienced members will explain on how to do it! If he has the private keys, then he isn't screwed. As far as "password" do you mean the seed list of words? He can import the keys, and then send them to a new address created in a wallet he has the word list for. Moving this to the Electrum sub-section, might be useful too. :-)
