1801  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.com.au in probelms for unwanted gambling advertising on: February 10, 2022, 05:06:36 PM
Wow! That's a huge fine! Definitely it's an irresponsible job they have done by sending advertisements to such people who have unsubscribed from them, but the government should have been more reasonable here! Even though this fine is probably not a big thing for sportsbet considering their revenue is around 300 million usd per year, but if it was done by a small company, they would have been forced to close down their operations due to such financial penalty.
1802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain gaming is the way of the future. on: February 10, 2022, 02:44:48 PM
Even in a bear market, blockchain gaming is the way of the future. I believe that games like Axie Infinity and others will continue to thrive because many people are already making a living from blockchain games, and the adoption rate will never slow down.

These games are firing because people are able to earn money from it. But as soon as these games will start charging money, the situation will change quickly. A majority of the internet users want free things but in order to survive, the blockchain gaming companies will have to levy charges in future.

Also hype is an interesting factor here. As long as hype is alive around blockchain gaming, they will survive. But a time will come when the users will look for real value beyond NFT and free tokens. So unless these gaming companies evolve around the consumer need, they will become extinct.
1803  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia and central Bank agreed to legalize cryptocurrency as a form of currency on: February 10, 2022, 10:52:09 AM
While it's mostly positive, but let's wait for the draft to come out on 18th Feb. It's good that it will be regulated as a currency and not as an investment because that's what bitcoin is. But it's interesting to know how they will deal when bitcoin will be used as an investment and not as a currency. There muat be some provisions around it because its value changes quite frequently.

But as a thumb rule, let's not believe a communist government.
1804  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Inflation is a big problem for a country? on: February 09, 2022, 04:30:56 PM
We all know that Inflation in the US economy is at an alarming rate. Not the only USA, but Inflation is also a big problem for many countries globally, and it seems there is no way to stop it. Is it impossible to stop inflation in fiat currency or govt don't want to take any action it stop it? Do you think people can do anything to stop inflation in their economy or its inevitable?

There is no way to stop inflation. It can be managed to a certain extent only! Based on the size of economies, 2% - 4% inflation is expected  but when goes beyond that limit, that becomes a problem.

The only widely known method to manage inflation is to increase the interest rate. This way, the excess money can be sucked out of economy so that people b3come cautious and don't spend more. The affects the demand and thus the production. However, if the government has take debt from their countrymen through various bonds and savings certificates, increasing interest rate can bring more concern.
1805  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xbit blocks withdrawals with 0.53 BTC in account on: February 09, 2022, 03:38:36 PM
I wish you all the best mate! 1xbit is a known scam website. You should have checked their thread before playing there  the admin account is under Red trust since a long time now. So no matter if they are running a signature campaign or not, they are not trustworthy to put your money in.

I hope they allows you to withdraw your money, but that seems unlikely and they might come up with some KYC verification kind of non-sense!
1806  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can you manage gambling addict by taking drugs? on: February 09, 2022, 02:05:32 PM
I was with one of my old friends yesterday and he was addicted to football gambling to the extent that he is finding it very difficult to sleep and do normal activities. He has won some of betting he has played on but correctly want to give it some time off. He is asking for general advice if drugs can help.

Lol! It's like taking a loan to pay off an existing loan. It seems your friend needs medical attention rather than anything else. Because fronlm your statement, it seems, you friend needs an addiction all the time to stay alive which is bad and damaging at the same time.

If you have a helpline number where free counseling can be done against addiction, please recommend that to your friend.
1807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it involve risk connect metamask to opensea? on: February 09, 2022, 11:35:04 AM
Is it involve risk  connect metamask to opensea? hacks?  possible?

No one can say that a particular software is safe. Metamask is quite widely used across a variety of websites and they are functioning pretty well. However, it's quite possible that a hacker finds a loophole and exploit it for his own benefit. So yes, mishaps and accidents can happen! There's no reason for being complacent.

Also it doesn't always need to have loopholes in metamask. It can also be possible that the website you are connected to, has issues!
1808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: $3.6 billion in Bitcoin seized from Crocodile of Wall Street on: February 09, 2022, 06:02:18 AM
It's always great to know that criminals and frauds are getting caught brought under the wings of law. 3.6 billion is a huge amount, it can solve the hunger problem of entire African continent. So I have just one question - now what DOJ will do with this money? Are Bitfinex users going to get a refund? Or this money will rot in the hands of government departments without any further news of expenditure?

Government departments seizing money from criminals, is a good thing! But if this money is not used for its rightful purpose, then government needs to re-think their approach because this money doesn't belong to government either!
1809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Overthink Potential of Bitcoin on: February 08, 2022, 03:22:49 PM
I am not trying to dismiss Bitcoin, But sometimes people have to wake up to the truth.

I Completely agree on this point! People are overthinking and overestimating bitcoin to a great extent. Which is obviously not true! Quite often you will see people saying that bitcoin will take over the world's money supply or become the main reserve currency and blah blah blah. But deep down we all know that's not going to happen!

Someone must rule or else there will be no rule and we all will be living in a lawless land. Bitcoin is a parallel economy, not a mainstream one!
1810  Economy / Economics / Re: Fed and other central banks rate and taking away repo markets volatility on: February 08, 2022, 06:04:15 AM
Its really bad that central banks do the decreasing the money supply we can cope with inflation but if the markets volatility is in danger then the asset prices stay just same and they wait until right time and economic recression a.k.a "great depression"  then they will approve SPOT ETF-s and spot ETF gives btc price stability.

Just removing the bitcoin aspect from the statement. Now tell me a good way to fight inflation without increasing the interest rate! I am all ears!

If the interest rate raises, it will suck up the excess money flow from the market which will affect consumer spending. When consumers will spend less, the demand will come down. When the demand comes down, it will bring down the prices. It wouldn't give stability to the prices.

The depression will only follow if the Central Bank doesn't decrease the rate at the right time based on various parameters like consumer inflation, consumer spending habit, industrial output and indirect tax collection. These are the indicators based on which a central bank will decide a correct time to reduce the interest rate again after sucking up the excess money from the market.

If you know of any better ways to fight inflation, do let me know.
1811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My Painting is now NFT on: February 07, 2022, 05:22:06 PM
Lol! Do you understand the value of 10 ETH? What made you think that your paintings are worth 10 ETH. I am surprised by your confidence. You either don't have fair idea about NFT or you are just playing stupid. Reduce the price around 0.009 ETH to start and keep 10% royalty. That might give your NFTs a kickstart. But at 10 ETH, you will just end up wasting your time and energy. The NFT market is super competitive so those days are gone where a new piece of art will be sold at 10 ETH.
1812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Marriage done with Blockchain and Minted on NFT - news from India. on: February 07, 2022, 03:29:57 PM
I think this is something cool and might be categorised as Digital Marriage.

Plus the wedding was held on Google meet.

They will now have sex of facebook and give birth to a digital baby through whatsapp. I mean this is where it is going! Absolute nonsense is happening in the name of metaverse and NFT which simply doesn't make sense!

But it's good for the couple as they have done something unique which has given them popularity and also made some money out of their wedding. Except this, the entire course of events don't make sense!
1813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is better: Ethereum or the Binance Smart Chain? on: February 07, 2022, 12:06:45 PM
I personally prefer BNB because of the less gas fees. But ETH is quite good as an investment. But due to its high gas fees, I don't prefer to do any transactions in ETH chain. But Polygon is even better because it has zero gas fees.

I would recommend you to read this article,

It's quite useful!
1814  Economy / Economics / Re: Caentral banks rate rise could be biggest bluff on: February 07, 2022, 10:35:37 AM

For temporary moment yes rate rise will take away inflation but once inflation is under manageble level then they could lower the yields and rates even more we could imagine.

Exactly that's the reason! The inflation rate is quite high right now in most of the major economies. Increasing interest rate is one of the most effective ways to fight it. If you know any other ways, do let us know.

Once the excess money is sucked up by the increased interest rate, the interest rate will be lowered. That's how it happens! I don't think anything is fraud over here. That's how the mainstream economy works!
1815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if crypto mining is outlawed ? on: February 07, 2022, 05:57:03 AM
China banned miners, the EU is thinking of doing the same and what if others will follow?

In a hypothetical scenario where China, US Canada, Russia, India and EU ban pow mining I doubt the smaller countries can sustain the current active miners. Hashrate would drop significantly and the network would be weaker.
Either there would be a massive investment in solar in many developing countries or we might see the first 51% on BTC (hope not).

Do you see this as a potential threat or did the fud get in my head?

We have 7 billion people in the world, so it's practically impossible to ban bitcoin mining through law. Now if I take a closer look at the law book, one of the fundamental rights is,

Quote
Right to practice any profession or to carry on any occupation, trade or business.

Exactly on this point, our Indian exchanges have defeated the central bank of India in Supreme court when RBI arbitrarily banned cryptos few years back. So it's definitely not a piece of cake. China is a country where rule of law doesn't exist. Same goes with North Korea. So you can't compare the rest of the world with an example of China.
1816  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Is A Better Option Than Fiat Money? on: February 06, 2022, 03:27:21 PM

Will governments and important people reach this conclusion this year?

Lol! never! Governments will never accept that cryptocurrency is better than fiat money! Because it is not! Bitcoin can create a parallel economy and can become the greatest investment of all time, but it can't become better "medium of exchange" than fiat currency for various reasons. So there's no way the governments and important people will accept that. Bitcoin has survived as an alternative to the mainstream currency, it has shown enormous growth, investors from all around the world had invested money into it including some prominent personalities, but bitcoin can't replace fiat. What El-Salvador has done is an exception and exception can't become rule. Bitcoin can't just scale up to support the need of 7 billion people. Sorry!
1817  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: the market to buy the safest NFT? on: February 04, 2022, 07:00:41 PM
I started getting to know crypto in 2016 and at that time there were not many crypto projects like now.
and what I'm asking now is about NFT where many players have just started playing there, there must be many platforms that sell and buy NFT, for example https://cnft.io/ which transacts with ADA tokens, what platform do you think friends who play nft the safest. Is it opensea or something else?

There is no safest market in NFT world as it is full with scammers and money launderers. So you will always found forged and fake NFT everywhere, especially in various discord channels that claims to provide insights about NFTs. However, if you want to know what is the oldest NFT platform, then the answer is - Opensea. io. Majority of the famous NFT collections are listed in this platform and it enjoys the highest number of traffic as compared to all of its competitors. But no one can guarantee that their listed NFTs are safest or genuine. You have to do your own due diligence before investing.

Just a suggestion - don't invest in NFT, rather buy bitcoin when the market is red.
1818  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A little reminder why Bitcoin is necessary on: February 04, 2022, 05:41:07 PM
My interpretation (right or wrong): Paypal will give you the boot if they do not like you, Bitcoin embraces you.

Any business holds the right to either accept or reject any customer. It's their right. You need to understand that Paypal is a business organization and they provide a service. So it's their call whether they want to provide service to you or not. If you want to use a bitcoin wallet like Coinbase, they have a similar rule as well.

Only if you can use a non-custodial wallet service, then you are the sole controller of your own money. Otherwise even banks can deny their service to anyone they don't think eligible.
1819  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador Rejects IMF Call to Abandon Bitcoin as Legal Tender on: February 04, 2022, 04:15:30 PM
How is this going to affect the economy of El-Salvador, will IMF take any legal action against them or just allow them to have their way?

I don't think IMF can take any legal action against a country's decision on sovereignty. However, IMF holds a severe lending power which they can made unavailable for El-Salvador. And if IMF denies to lend them money for their needs, I am sure world bank will follow the same path even though these two organizations are different.

It's great to see how a small nation is holding onto their decision and not bending down in front of international pressure  i just hope bitcoin serves their economy well.
1820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Launching a new cryptocurrency in the field of aircraft manufacturing on: February 04, 2022, 07:07:20 AM
Hello
In this topic, I want to introduce our startup and also know your opinion about this idea.
This startup was created with the idea of building an airplane for the general public.
So we formed our design team and designed the ideal model with low production costs and high safety. In this design, flight comfort for the pilot is well considered.
In order to finance this startup, we intend to launch an ico. In this topic, we are going to introduce this startup, so I want to know your opinion about this idea?
Also our team needs a new member in the field of cryptocurrency
Also, I would be thankful to know your experience in setting up ico

Please don't take ICO route for two reasons. First, ICO is dead. People don't prefer to buy coins from ICO anymore so the chance is very high that your coins will remains unsold. Secondly, the use case is not something to interest a common people. If you are building an aircraft, your target customers will be the wealthiest 5% of the world, not a common people. Also in this field, the competition is huge where we already have big companies like Airbus, Boeing, Dassault etc. which years and years of experience. So it's very unlikely for your startup to remain in business due to such steep competition. So the chance of failure is quite high. Personally I wouldn't invest on your idea.

If you have planned to set up an ecommerce store, that would have been a different story. I think you better go to angel investors or VCs. ICO wouldn't help you at all.
