Almost 500 000 romanian citizenship solved applications in the last two years from a 3.5 million country.
Those are only solved applications and do not count minors.

The numbers tell more than a pro-russian tears crying over a failed Eurasian community.

You forget about 750.000 migrant workers (often illegal) from Moldova in Russia and about 30% of Moldovan GDP coming from those workers sending money home.
Russia is tightening up immigration and work permit rules, and Moldova is on a black list. Now think about the consequences of those 750000 being sent back. Is Romania ready to issue more residence permits, because there sure is no work to be had in Moldova?

There is not much tears for that from Russia, more like from people of Pridnstrovje. Will the 2006 referendum (>90% for) results be acknowledged? What about 300.000 signatures collected in 2014 and confiscated by Moldovans?

Failed? You are too quick in your judgement. Let's talk about this again in 3-4 years.

I feel bad for Strelkov. People like Strelkov and Bezler, who worked extremely hard for the past many months against overwhelming odds were cheated by Putin in the end.

Why do you guys keep saying that they were cheated by Putin? Earlier you were saying that Putin was not sending Russian troops into Ukraine,  that he was not sending in Russian tanks and altilery, that Putin has nothing to do with what's going on in Ukraine, and that its stupid to make demands on Putin and sanction Russia if he is not involved in any way. How can he both be not involved, and cheat them?

The reason for this is evident. Many believed and hoped that Putin actually had nothing to do with the events in Ukraine (and would stay aside further on). But now he confirms by his recent actions that he is somewhat pro-Kiev (just when the rebels have gathered momentum and began taking over)...

Or maybe Putin wants to avoid the Yugoslavian scenario, where rather large Ukraine (check the map of Europe!) is split into many small insignificant states with different and sometimes unpredictable allegiances. He might want to avoid the divide and conquer scenario. This game is too big to comprehend from the personal here-and-now level.

I still dont know what the f**k NATO wants from Russia

My feeling that NATO wants Russia to invade something, so that they have an excuse for their existence and to increase their military spendings. "Retaliatory" attack on Russia and desintegration of the country would be a definitive bonus.

EDIT: Interestingly, NATO moved out into Georgia again, stirring up trouble there once more. This, after Russian-Georgian relation started to normalise after Saakashvili was evicted.

The author is actually very astute as has proven to be right on many of her previous observations and write-ups. I referenced her works and articles several times before, by the way. You should listen through the video before making any conclusions, but it's your choice, of course. As I said, it brings the other side of the discussion forth, the one that is not usually portrayed by the Kishenjov/Chisinau ruling top, and which might not reach you in Romania.

And about those that fled that country, she also touches up on that topic as well...

An interesting talk about Moldova and Pridnestrovje from someone having ties to the region and following the development there rather closely. The conflict there has been on a slow backburner for quite a long time, even after the Transnistrian referendum for unification with Russia  (2006), and is coming to a head now that Poroshenko's coup government has disturbed the fine balance in the region, blockading the republic.

Obama At NATO Summit: Prologue To War With Russia
http://rickrozoff.wordpress.com/2014/09/06/obama-at-nato-summit-prologue-to-war-with-russia/

Quote
“We will create a new highly ready rapid response force that can be deployed on a very short notice,” he added. “We will increase NATO’s presence in central and eastern Europe with additional equipment, training, exercises and troop rotations.”

And if no threat is forthcoming and Russia still stubbornly refuses to respond to provocations, then provoke more. We are at this stage now. When more provocations will fail, NATO will move on to an open aggression against Russia either without any pretext or under a false flag.

It also won't turn your buddies, I'm speaking about the members of huilo brotherhood, into reasonable individuals with independent system of values. They're still just a bunch of losers and reflexive morons. They're doomed to eternal repetition of their errors due to the inability to think independently.

Khuilo's slaves are brainwashed, bribed and forced into complete lack of independent judgement. the US and western world has chosen the best path to take with them, they'd better be isolated from civilized people, all along with lies, weapons and dirt which they bring. that's the best strategy.

Looks like we have another candidate to be isolated with his lies, weapons and dirt here... Seeing as he even started his post with a defamatory stance. But karma is going to bite him (unless, of course, he is sitting in some warm NATO data center in Poland or Lithuania)

Can you buy a sim card wit no id in Norway?

There are talks about a new law here that would require everyone to present their id and be registered in the mobile operator database even for prepaid card. This would kill the anonymity of those kind of payments.

No. You must provide an ID for any type of SIM card.
1809  Other / Politics & Society / Re: ECUADOR HERALDS DIGITAL CURRENCY PLANS on: September 08, 2014, 10:33:30 AM

When I think of Norway I don't see too many pros from a no cash policy...

The major pro is stopping the mints. Norway is largely non-cash as it were already. You cannot pay with cash in hospitals or medical centers. Many shops already have cashless counters. If you try to pay with cash for public transportation in Oslo, you pay higher price than if you were using a prepayed card (equivalent of €6.15 per hour instead of €3.70) and such cards can be mostly charged cashlessly. When I think about it, the last time I held cash was about 4 months ago...

Is your ID linked to all those prepaid cards?

For the most part, yes. You buy them using your bank card (national payment system), so there is a link. And most people nowadays pay for their tickets (either single fare or 7- or 30-day) through their phones, using VISA payment - another link. And then many directly link their travel cards to an on-line account "for ease of monitoring what your active tickets look like".

Actually, using the phone and a 30-day ticket is the most anonymous way after cash - you pay once and then you only have to show the phone's screen to the driver.

Medvedev: If EU approves new sanctions (I think this will be counter-counter-sanctions), then Russia will be forced to reply asymmetrically and close its airspace (counter-counter-counter-sanctions):
http://www.aif.ru/money/economy/1332908
English: http://rt.com/business/185924-sanctions-eu-oil-airspace-medvedev/

Quote
“We could impose transport restrictions,” Medvedev said, adding, "We believe we have friendly relations with our partners, and foreign airlines of friendly countries are permitted to fly over Russia. However, we’ll have to respond to any restrictions imposed on us," the prime minister said.

After sanctions hit Aeroflot’s low-cost subsidiary Dobrolet in late July, Medvedev discussed with ministers the possibility of limiting, of even completely blocking, European flights to Asia that overfly Russia.

“If Western carriers have to bypass our airspace, this could drive many struggling airlines into bankruptcy. This is not the way to go. We just hope our partners realize this at some point,” he told Vedomosti.

Flying over Russian airspace saves Western airlines headed to Asia at least 4 hours of flight time, which adds up to about $30,000 per flight.

Lufthansa said it could potentially lose more than €1 billion in three months if it does not use Russian airspace.

...

“Sanctions are always a double-edged sword. Ultimately they end up backfiring and end up hurting those who are first to impose restrictions,” Medvedev said.

It comes in the wake of this:
http://rt.com/business/185504-gazprom-sanctions-eu-ban/

Quote
Moscow has already promised it will respond to the new round of sanctions if they are approved and imposed, according to a press release issued by the Russian Foreign Ministry on Saturday

“Instead of feverishly looking for ways of hitting harder the economies of its member-states and Russia, the EU would do better to start supporting the economic revival of the Donbass region and restoring normal life there,” the press release reads.

No chance. EU (read USA/UK) need death and destruction in the East of Ukraine. The more Russian people are killed there the better in the EU books.

Also, if Ukraine shuts off electricity to Crimea, then Russia will be forced to symmetrically shut off electricity deliveries to Ukraine.

1814  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 was shot down by an air-to-air missile on: September 08, 2014, 07:44:43 AM
I don't think the Malaysians even have access to the black box.

The last time I heard about them, the flight data recorders of MH17 Boeing were being transferred to the Malaysians. That was almost one month ago. But after that, there has been no announcement from the Malaysians. They are refusing to say what was in the flight data recorders, and are not yet ready to release the information public.
I may have missed that announcement. Regardless of if they have it or not, what information do you expect to get from the black box that could potentially be useful to the public? Black boxes do not record the kind of information that would show how the plane was shot down. It is my understanding it only collects information about the performance of the plane (speed, altitude, fuel levels, engine performance, how the flaps are positioned, ect.).

There is a lot of useful data in the black boxes. There are two of them - one is the Cockpit Voice Recorder that records the following on separate tracks: pilot and co-pilot mics, ambient cockpit mic, the speech from both VHF radio trancievers. Then there is the Flight Data Recorder that records what you mentioned above, plus the cabin pressure and information about the radio transceiver engagement, and more. All that information is supplemented with a timestamp track, so the exact time of each event, as well as cross-referencing of the two boxes is possible down to millisecond.

If the plane was hit by a heat-seeking missile, you would first notice an engine failure (engines emit most heat and will get hit first), followed by loss of performance, but the cabin would probably remain intact. It would be interesting then to hear what the pilots had to say during those critical moments. Did they have time to transmit Mayday, mayday, mayday or Pan, pan, pan on 121.5. The tower would have picked that up (the withheld ATC tapes).

If the plane was hit by a BUK, you'd have loss of air pressure in the cabin, but the engines would probably still run for some time.

Finally if the cockpit was shot with 30mm armour-peirceing gunfire from a Mig, then the pilots would be dead within seconds, but the avionics would be intact. You'd also hear telling sound on the cabin ambient sound mic channel.

There is a lot of information that can help you reconstruct the events down to a millisecond, and the sequence and characteristics of events will determine what the cause was.

Obama: We are readying new sanctions on Russia despite peace agreement in Ukraine
http://rt.com/usa/185460-obama-readying-sanctions-russia-peace/

Quote
“Obviously we are hopeful,” Obama said of the ceasefire, “but based on past experience, also skeptical that, in fact, the separatists will follow through and the Russians will stop violating Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.”

“Pro-Russian separatists must keep their commitments,” Obama told the crowd.

Obviously Ukrainian state terrorists and the North-Atlantic Terrorist Organisation members are not bound to keep their promises and can violate them at any moment, just like they did during every previous peace initiative coming from the East..

And Russia even not a part in this conflict.

Still this is too good to be true for Russia. Wonder if Putin asked Obama to continue with sanctions so as to have a pretext to modernise Russia.

Russia’s financial system is “threatened” by America’s new tax law that demands foreign banks report on all American citizens’ banking activities, the Russian Federal Financial Monitoring Service said Thursday.

The head of the financial monitoring authority Yury Chikhanchin likened the one-sided data exchange to turning Russian banks into spies for the Americans.

...

The Russian financial watchdog believes the American tax law is itself a form of sanctions. The head of the authority believes that such mechanisms can exist, but should be multilateral.

Originally Russia planned a bilateral information exchange with the US over FATCA after the law was passed in 2010 but the US Treasury Department suspended negotiations with Russia in March 2014 over the Ukrainian conflict

How conveniently timed for the US that Ukrainian conflict just jumped up, reaching for a cookie. More and more US benefits from the conflict are becoming apparent...

Britain could conduct airstrikes in Syrian regions captured by Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS) militants, UK Prime Minister David Cameron has said. He added that he did not need permission from Syrian President Bashar Assad.

Speaking at the start of the NATO summit in Wales on Thursday, Cameron said he did not recognize Assad as a legitimate leader, labeling him as “part of the problem.”

It'll be like Lybia again.

The statement of Cameron can be extrapolated however one wishes, for example, if ISIS conducts a terrorist attack in UK, then Assad can equally legitimately say that:

Syria does not need Cameron's permission to launch airstrinkes in Great Britain

So, UN Security Council is being dumped by Cameron/Obama, just like League of Nations got dumped by Hitler/Mussolini...

UK says new Russian sanctions could be lifted if ceasefire holds
http://rt.com/news/185344-uk-russia-sanctions-hammond/

It does still sound comical. The ceasefire holds between two other parties, yet Russia's "fate" depends on whether the US puppet in Kiev, known as Poroshenko will keep his word (judging by previous actions, the chance is not great).

Translating this conflict to a more personal level, if your neighbour and his wife are fighting, you can be arrested by the police and jailed for it.  Grin

And France has bent down too (at least at the political top):

Quote
P.S. While this is happening in Asia and Russia, France has announced that they have suspended the delivery of the first two Mistral helicopter carriers to Russia over Ukraine. Of course, who would have doubted they would be pressured by the US and EU! It will be a huge financial loss for France, although of course they will try to wait it out, hoping the tide changes and they can still fulfil the contract.

I sympathise with France and even with Hollande, although I think France deserves better. But – well – where is Charles De Gaulle, with his courage and independent policies, when you need him? The pressure is enormous, and unfortunately, it will continue, as I said in my many previous articles. Can’t give you any good news here – sorry. The pressure/threats/arm twisting/scare tactics against individual EU countries that attempt to do business and be friendly to Russia will continue until the people of Europe decide that enough is enough and muster their courage to stop being a US colony.

A new comment left by the FuturisTrendcast reader from France in PREDICTIONS: “Now unfortunately my government is a US lap dog too but fortunately my compatriots are not.
