Such attack is not cheap, and whoever was behind it spent what he had, at least for now. DDOS attacks usually use a botnet (made out of many hacked computers). That's actually quite cheap to do, and very expensive to fight off. Bitcoin mixing is big business, and some use criminal methods to attack ompetitors. It could also be used for blackmailing, I've seen that happen to Bitoin casinos in the past.

Can you create some list that shows only new registered users Live? I could, but may I ask why? Not just last one, but 10 or more. I would like to have a complete list of all usernames, but that means I'll have to download 2.6 million profiles. It's just convenient to have, because now I need BPIP to get a userID when I have a username. If I do this, a list of the last 10,000 usernames makes much more sense than just 10.

LeastTrustedBitcoinTalkUser.tk ? You mean: "ISgame-protectStillTheLeastTrustedBitcointalkUser.tk"? That would require another scraper, and I don't really want to scrape BPIP a few times per hour. Also curious, how do you (I mean bpip) actually calculate this? Vod slightly adjusted theymos' old Trust algorithm, it goes much lower than -9999 for instance.

I've personally merited posts which I outright disagree with I do that sometimes, but it confuses people: @LoyceV, meriting/agreeing to the OP from trusted device but disagreeing from non-trusted device Most people have been conditioned by large corporations to use "Like" and "Upvote", and they're used to it. Merit is different, but it doesn't show when you're meriting a post. Users won't know the difference if they don't read about it on Meta. I'd say Bitcointalk needs a small explanation on how to use them ("merit good posts") on the "Merit a post"-page.

I tried to upload an update, but I can't get a FTP connection working from here. I'll be home again tomorrow afternoon (Amsterdam time), so this week's Saturday Newspaper will be a Sunday Newspaper. I'll have a sneak preview myself

a private key is basically a number in the 1-2256 range. So: 1 2 3 4 5 ...... That's going to be a very long list l@rs! Maybe you can start by saying what you're trying to accomplish?

who is trying to set a record of most created and banned accounts in Bitcointalk forum. Unfortunately, I can't count alt-accounts. Before getting banned, I counted 93 posts from humanrightsfoundation in 7 days. He has only 10 posts left now

It would be useful if you could edit your opening post with the initial question or issue. OP posted this (restored from http://loyce.club/archive/posts/5231/52310420.html): Hello I have bitcoin node. How I can make backup or make seed phrase for bitcoin wallet?

So if it's the one and only technique I think I'll give up ... With a small amount of BSV in a SegWit address, giving up is definitely the easy way out. If it's a large amount, you may want to pursue it. Either way, it doesn't hurt to keep the private key, who knows if it becomes possible and worth your effort some day.

If you refresh this page a few times, you'll see the "Time Online" goes up by a couple of minutes in just a few seconds. This topic was created just a day and a half ago, but the "Time Online" has increased by 73 days since then. Could it be the "Time Online" is counted for each instance that's online, and could it be that user account is used by (give or take) 50 different bots scraping the forum at the same time?

If you agree with a poster, but don't have much to add to the point he has made, do you think it is good practice to award merits without quoting and posting an agreement? I wouldn't do it for posts you "agree with", but for posts that are worth reading. I've done this to posts that stated what I wanted to add to the thread already, so posting it again would be spammy. So I try to highlight the post by Meriting it. I guess it's caused by actually reading the thread, instead of just responding to the title or OP. I'd say that's a good thing.

I prefer "1Lucifer" but as it is too much to ask, I'll settle with "1Luci8" (case sensitive if possible) My Pub Key 04114FF3476BDE282E92AE75D099D7841B544B4F4B3B8C47A1B8A4A9C4E8D2C000A44A9E241BAF69F3CD1BB56C2D02A6ECB5AEB93D36F0E357618287CB3D856CC5 1Lucifer is too much for a giveaway, but I can make it for a $5 fee in Bitcoin. It will probably take a couple of days to create on my laptop. I got you this one for free: Address: 1 Luci8MRLtg3uPnegQGFCMrV5Jq8bbYhUz (Balance: ) PrivkeyPart: 5JbBXUKYq1Y4T5rRnhgNoxut9c57Kcu2Pz3n7JvcE25SaoqkrQV

Username: Loyce (not LoyceV) Minimum Withdrawal Amount: 0.01 0.01 bit means 1 satoshi, you may want to increase this to prevent Bitcoin dust transactions. Or add support for Lightning Network, then 1 satoshi transactions are totally fine. I tried to open my account on Android (tablet, Chrome browser), but the buttons don't work. I tried Firefox too on Android, same result. I won 2 best, and made 2 small withdrawals with low fee. I must say I like that it's possible to do this, many websites set a minimum of at least a thousand bits. It just doesn't make much sense to withdraw small amounts considering fees.

It's the first time I've seen this happen. I haven't seen an official cause, so I don't know if this will happen more. It lasted just over 8 hours. Some say it was my fault

I'm really wondering at the logic of giving someone like Bakkt permission to "Warehouse" your money weeks before they deliver a product they've delayed all year long. Why would you move your money around twice and expose it to more points of failure? I haven't really looked into it, but I wouldn't easily trust their "secure storage of customer bitcoin". If BAKKT f*cks up and loses all coins, is there an insurance company that gives you back your Bitcoins? Or some dollar value at the moment of the hack, which you'll receive many years later (Mt. Gox anyone?) when Bitcoin went up 50-fold and you missed out on that? Most people don't trust banks, but they trust the government guarantee that guarantees their savings (here up to 100,000 euro) in case the bank loses their money. I'd like to see stronger guarantees than that before I'll ever trust a company with storing my Bitcoin for anything longer than a quick exchange.

Last night, " recent" was broken for 8 hours. It's the first time I've seen that, theymos didn't post yet what caused it. As a result, I couldn't scrape anything between post 52295210 and post 52297852. That means I'm missing 2641 posts.
