1821  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Are you running a Bitcoin node? You SHOULD be on: June 28, 2018, 09:13:18 AM
Good suggestions, but running a full node isn't for me. I know these things why running a full node is recommended (more secured and less centralized network, more privacy and etc), but my computer is just too old and slow. I predict it would take very long time to download Bitcoin Core wallet with full blockchain with my current internet speed. I don't even have enough space on my PC. Over 145 Gbs are needed. But when I will buy new PC I will consider running a full node. I'm not only sure about electricity consumption - does full node seriously affect it?

If you are worrying about your old computer then raspberry pi can be good option for you.
If you are worrying about the blockchain size /internet speed then pruned full node will be a good option.
Good news is that ,you can run a pruned full node in raspberry pi.

Below are some links for your reference for DIY raspberry pi full pruned node.

1822  Other / Meta / Re: Lamborghini Member, what title is that? on: June 28, 2018, 06:39:35 AM
Only VIP members (50 btc), Donators (10 btc), Global moderators, and admins can display custom titles.
50 btc donations? are you kidding me. Then hilariousandco   is a damn billionaire or the 50 btc was when bitcoin was trading at 100 USD some years back?

That was introduced in August 2011, when bitcoin was not soaring so high. You can read the original post here.

If you donate 10 BTC (which pays for about a month of hosting), you get donator status:

Alright, so in permissioned blockchain, data can be manipulated. So wouldn't it much riskier? I get that a few companies would want to use this permissioned blockchain, but in legal terms, companies are supoosed to leave their records public, that is a conflict.

Honestly, public blockchains are better than the permissioned blockchain, not that anything is wrong with it, but the possibility of data manipulation is a big no-go.

The replies are wonderful, great contributions guys.  Cheesy

My understanding is that as per data manipulation Permissioned Blockchain will be same as public blockchain. Only difference is that not all Nodes involved in blockchain will able to do the write operation.

We cannot put all the records in the public view even we use blockchain.
Hospitals cannot put the patient records in public blockchain. Banks cannot put their records(account details etc) in public blockchain.

Companies will provide records to legal authorities but we can not put everything in blockchain for general public viewing.
1824  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to earn Cryptocurrency by completing simple tasks!! on: June 26, 2018, 06:16:58 AM

Wow!!didnt know that such platforms even existed.they just gave me 500latx worth 50$ for just 1tweet.thank you!!

Somebody paying you in their own currency does not mean anything. You do not know if they become totally worthless tomorrow.
In fact more the people give in free, more I become susceptible to its real value.

@OP, using beginners and help section for the promotion does not look ethically correct to me.
1825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT REHAB FOR CRYPTO ADDICTS on: June 26, 2018, 05:44:56 AM
I found this article and was a bit confused about why is this used. I don't think people are crypto addicts. What do you think about this?

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/bitcoinmagazine.com/articles/scotland-hospital-opens-rehab-center-crypto-trading-addicts/amp/

Yes, people can be addict to anything not only to crypto. I myself now become addicted to crypto. Before joining this forum I used to be very active in facebook, Wishing everybody promptly. very much updated with everybody life.

Now, I rarely/never login to facebook. I do not bother to check the notification that says somebody tagged me in photo. some commented on my photo.
somebody mentioned me in the post ,etc . etc ........

Anyway, I am not still trading addict but it definitely changed my internet browsing habits.
1826  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: June 26, 2018, 04:56:23 AM
I came across a concept that might be related to altcoins more than it being related to bitcoin, so I decided to bring it up here:

Question: What is a  permissioned blockchain? What is the difference between a permissioned blockchain and a normal traditional blockchain?

Normal traditional Blockchain, that can be referred as public blockchain also, every body have same rights on the blockchain. Every body will have same read/write rights. The "Bitcoin" blockchain will fit into this example. (or any other Alt coin which is using public blockchain)

Now in permissoned blockchain, the read/write rights on the blockchain will differ from individual to individual.Actually , Blockchain that will be adopted by business most likely will be permissioned or restricted blockchain only.

Let me take a hypothetical example of company like Amazon which is  using blockchain technology. This company is selling goods and shipping to the customer. Customer will now have read access to that blockchain in which company has generated the transaction/invoice number (company will not allow customer to change contents in the invoice generated) and company will have read/write access for that transaction. Apart from that customer others will not have any kind of read/write access (customer identity needs to be preserved).

Now, I come to feedback section. Here everybody can be granted read/write access. Company can read/write there, customer can read write there and others also read that feedback and ask further question there about the customer experience.
1827  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to post an Announcement in a language with no group on local? on: June 25, 2018, 04:31:19 PM
Hi!

I would like to post an announcement in a different language than the ones which are in Local forum. There are a list of languages like Spanish, French, Russian, Romanian but no Serbian, Hungarian or Bulgarian for ex.

So, please tell me how can I post Ann in those languages that aren't there.

Thanks!

Just request Theymos for that local board in Meta Section. Theymos might be having a good statistics that how many people in this forum are from  that particular region.
If  it will considerable number I guess Theymos might allow it.

Even wit considerable number Theymos might turn down the request because starting a local board means he will need additional staff for that local board.

Suggestion: Post in English and provide the link for that local language outside this forum where you  can have that in local language.
1828  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin miner stoped distribute bitcoin on: June 25, 2018, 04:29:18 AM
what if all miner bitcoin stops working does not generate or distributes bitcoin for one day if it could affect bitcoin price?

If miner stop mining then there will be no value to bitcoin. Miner not only mining new bitcoins but also confirming the transactions too.
If there is no miner, than no transaction will happen.
In others words, that day Bitcoin will not have any value, because if I say ,somebody want to sell it cheap but transaction from his wallet to seller wallet will not happen and then why should pay for something that you will not receive.

---snip  ---

That all info I already know. I am sorry to say that your that big post was duplicate (These type of post were already created). In half post you are explaing imgur to me, that I already know. Might be I like to categorize your post as merit shitpost. Big , graphical but still not addressing the real question.
Refrain yourself from using bold and big fonts and try to understand issue carefully.

Thanks Omega and sncc,  I was missing the extension part

In the short, the image URL must finish with the extension. (.jpg, .png, .gif etc.) In your case, just right click and copy the link from imgur.

You are using the link to imgur, but to embed the image you need the link to the image itself.  Clicking your image in imgur, you can see several links at the right of your image.  You can then copy the link for "BBCode" or "Linked BBCode" and paste it in your post.

You can move this this topic to Altcoin discussion.

I just took a glimpse , The first working product will be available at Q2 2019  as per their Roadmap. Whatever the company you mentioned in your post , none of them have any working product. Only substratum has some beta version product.

As long as product is not developed it is hard to comment because there are number of examples when Dev abandoned the projects or they turned out scam.
1833  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: A short guide about how to earn money online! on: June 21, 2018, 05:49:24 AM
I would add Craigslist.org to the options for selling. They now have a button to advertise that you take bitcoin or other cryptocurrency. Check it out, there are likely things for sale near you that can be bought for bitcoin.

Thanks for sharing this, They are giving checkbox as below

crypto currency ok.

This is indeed a good news and this will create a good market between masses.
But just wondering how the sorting of price will take place now?  Anyway did not find any listing that is accepting crypto.
1834  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where do i post a vacancy announcement? on: June 20, 2018, 06:07:57 PM
I am just putting the description of some forum (originally provided by mprep on https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0 ) and their links.
You can decide yourself in which category/board will be best fit for you.

Services (child board of Marketplace) - Services provided/demanded on-forum for Bitcoin. If you are providing/demanding services on another site (e.g. have a hosting site), it doesn't belong here.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=52.0

Service Announcements (child board of Marketplace) - "New services and significant information about existing services. Do not create excessive "announcements" just to advertise your service." All Bitcoin service website announcements should go here.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=84.0

Service Discussion (child board of Marketplace) - "Comments and questions about specific Bitcoin services or about all Bitcoin services." This includes discussion of Bitcoin sites (both specific and in general), discussion about technical problems of such sites (API doesn't work, etc.).
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=85.0

Announcements (Altcoins) - Altcoin announcements, generic (usually announcement like) coin discussion threads.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0

Tokens (Altcoins) (child board of Announcements (Altcoins)) - Altcoin token (an altcoin entity / thing that relies on another altcoin's infrastructure to function) announcements, generic (usually announcement like) token discussion threads.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=240.0

Service Announcements (Altcoins) (child board of Marketplace (Altcoins)) - Announcement of external services that are directly related to or accept altcoins.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=197.0

Service Discussion (Altcoins) (child board of Marketplace (Altcoins)) - Discussion of altcoin services (both external and on-forum). This includes discussions

1835  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Dogeminer.cc seems to be a ponzi scam on: June 20, 2018, 05:53:37 PM

Dogespeedminer.com and Dogesuperminer.com are their upcoming scam and no idea how many scam project are in their pipelines.
1836  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it allowed to buy someone's account? on: June 19, 2018, 07:11:43 AM
You're saying that if some member didn't get caught,he didn't received negative feedback. That's not fair. Mods should implement a system to find out wether account was bought or not. I remembered famous quote of Pablo Picasso "Learn the rules like a pro, so you can break them like an artist". With the technological advancement peoples will learn how to buy alt accounts and not to get caught. The real problem as i believed is, if the intent of the person who bought that account is spamming for bounty campaigns or signature campaigns.

That is the reason that mods did not ban the users.  I am not sure but I think I read Theymos somewhere saying that account sales can happen in outside platform without anyone knowing in this platform so they do not ban users.

Why it is discouraged.

1. Trust issue: Somebody purchased a trustworty  account and used it for scam. People will believe and fall in scam because earlier user was trustworthy.
2. Low ethics : Buying account is considered as non ethical
1837  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: procedure to create new project on: June 17, 2018, 02:16:49 AM
i just wan to know what is the procedure to collect funds for expand business (running project) with ico

You are saying "Expand business" it means that you already have a running business.
You should have a good whitepaper (proposal to explain people , why you need fund and what you will do with it means a roadmap)
Can you tell here your business and some brief idea, then people will be help you better.

1838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Am I the victim of an ICO fraud? Advice on What to do about the Eroiy ICO. on: June 16, 2018, 05:15:53 PM
This shows how far people are willing to go with their ICOs. They can put great effort in writing a superb quality whitepaper (or hire a writer to do that for them). They can lure team members and prominent advisors by promising great rewards. They can pay ICO ranking sites for excellent reviews. At the end of the day, all of this doesn't mean anything, unless the people behind the project are willing and dedicated enough to the push the project up and possess adequate expertise and know-how. Given these factors, for us outsiders, it is hard to judge whether or not an ICO is worth participating in.

I'm afraid I have no idea what one can do in such a situation. Not much I guess. If it is any consolation, this entire ICO bubble will be over soon and in my opinion the vast majority of ICO projects will be wiped out entirely.

I'm not saying that the ICO you participated is a total fraud, and I hope you will be able to get your money back or at least cut losses at some acceptable level.

I do not think they will wipe out as they are still making millions dollar and nobody knows their identity.
They given their linkedin profiles and  still they scammed, might be linkedin will be next to ban the Cryto currency related profiles.
We need to make investor/people  more aware but scammer will find the new ways. A constant race will go on.

---snip--

I think  CEO is missing is a very big red flag and certainly a matter of concern for the future of product.
You said that you did lot of DYOR in buying this, then I am not understanding then why you are gloomy and depressed. Did you overlooked the fact that you  need to invest that much amount only that you can lose and do not keep all apples in same basket.

I can just suggest you to HODL or you can put a sell order at your ICO price (this is also risky as they put their tokens on third grade exchanges).
and might be a sudden surge in price and you will get the investment back.
1840  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where are all the best and reliable ICOs listed? on: June 15, 2018, 05:05:36 AM
There is whole thread dedicated for it. You can check it for yourself.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2938434.0
But that thread was last active since March.

I did not get your point, are you saying that all the website now ceased to exist in just a span of the 2 to 3  months only. Personally I am not looking for ICO so I am not in mood to check them.

@OP, Please lock your thread, I think you have got your answers.
