1821  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What is "COINBASE (Newly Generated Coins)" in all blocks on: December 18, 2019, 02:46:02 PM
it's the block reward. It has nothing to do with coinbase (the company)
What's the name COINBASE is referring to? Not the company? Then what? I was thinking it has something to do with the exchange coinbase.com, no idea what other COINBASE is existed in the crypto world  Huh

It's just another name for the block reward... Sure, there is a company using the same name, but they are not related.
That makes sense. I was confused when I saw COINBASE everywhere.

Edit again- I know about block reward but never heard that it can also be defined as COINBASE. Thank you for the great explanation.
1822  Other / Beginners & Help / What is "COINBASE (Newly Generated Coins)" in all blocks on: December 18, 2019, 02:42:27 PM
I was checking all the latest blocks on blockchain.com for learning some stuff. When I clicked on the miner link, I see all the block rewards have the same message-"COINBASE (Newly Generated Coins)" as displayed in the image below.
What's that referring to? I guess all these mining pools are not controlled by Coinbase, nor mining pools are using Coinbase address. How Coinbase is connected here?

1823  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Any legit websites to earn bitcoin fast without a withdrawal fee? on: December 18, 2019, 02:28:40 PM
the moderator of the forum will pay their user for 100 post and you'll get paid arround 1000 satoshi per one post, you can try it.
I had visited the forum a while. I guess the payment starts after you make 100 posts. So, your first 100 posts are paying you nothing. You will get 1000 satoshi at your 101th posts; that's 9.90 satoshi per post  Cheesy

That's a good suggestion without risk for OP. The only thing is that Yobit according to what I have read charges 0.0012BTC withdrawal fees.
Eh, that's ridiculous. Binance charges only 0.0005 BTC withdrawal fee. They are taking all the money they are paying to its users.
1824  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me understand how to read the blockchain transaction history.. on: December 18, 2019, 12:23:54 PM
Will this show up on the blockchain as one transaction with one input (my public address) and one output (friend's public address)?
If you send through coinbase, your public address will not be visible; coinbase don't hold your fund in your public address. For instance; you have received fund in one of your coinbase address- the fund will not be in your address, it will be held by coinbase cold wallet. You may check it through one of your address when you receive fund through coinbase.
So, your friend's public address will be seen & the address coinbase used to send the fund will be seen in blockchain.

Because Coinbase isn't a wallet and they might process withdrawals in batch like other Exchanges do.

IDK if they implemented it already though, 'coz I stopped using their service years ago. (Their statement that mentioned batching: blog.coinbase.com)
You are right, they still send fund through a batch.
1825  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Questions on Trading and fees etc on: December 18, 2019, 12:15:27 PM
A bit off topic; although in reputed exchanges, the fees are proportionally high, I wouldn't mind bearing it. Many less reputed exchanges/ low quality exchanges might offer cheaper fee which I wouldn't be interested to use because these exchanges might be vulnerable & subjective to get hacked by hackers or the exchange itself can scam you. Therefore, when you choose exchange, put less importance to fee; look at their reputation to avoid the potential risk.
Coinbase is one the best exchange but never think of holding your crypto in any exchange for long time. Remember- Not your keys, not your crypto.

bought into several currencies in the top 10, the majority of my admittedly small investment was Bitcoin.
I would prefer at least 50% BTC in my portfolio(100% is even better); not a financial advice though.

How does the P2P transacting work then in a practical sense? How would one go about purchasing Bitcoin via P2P? What tools, site(s), method would someone follow?
Try currency exchange section of the forum. Be aware of scammers- always use escrow.
1826  Other / Meta / Re: List of boards, subboards (some local subboards are not listed) on: December 18, 2019, 12:06:39 PM
I really appreciate all your efforts trying to make helpful post but this right here is an obvious post a careful look at the home screen of the forum anyone can see boards and subboards.
As he referred in the OP, the list has been compiled for other reason. I guess he was looking for this couple of days ago for scraping merit data on different boards; although the list is nothing of works for us.
Here's the thread I was talking about- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5210219.0
1827  Other / Meta / Re: Reducing (removing) airdropped merits for those who didn't earn 1 single merit on: December 17, 2019, 05:43:19 PM
This would be a terrific idea to remove all the airdropped merit from people who didn't earn any merit yet. When Satoshi Nakamoto will look at his account, how will he feel- hellllll, I am a newbie Cheesy Just kidding. But there are numerous number of people as you mentioned who aren't active anymore, it would hurt a lot to them; they will create chaos around. I would prefer sticky with as it is now.
1828  Other / Meta / Re: Reflex Token paying for comment in their ANN thread on: December 17, 2019, 04:04:26 PM
What's the status of your report? Was it marked bad or still unhandled?
If unhandled, you might want to follow Coolcryptovator's suggestion.
If I'm correct, to have the report statistics, I gotta have reported more than 300 posts which I haven't reported yet. I guess it's unhandled, I can't remember how much unhandled I had seen last time though. I will follow what Coolcryptovator said. It would be better if a admin/mod explain why no step taken yet, could have more appropriate report later/next time.
1829  Other / Meta / Re: To the attention of the Mods and Admins, account farms abusing bounty. on: December 16, 2019, 02:21:55 PM
Upon checking the usernames & their post, I guess, the accounts are created by bot. They all have the same style username; two words. They have only posted #Proof of Authentication & none of them are probably in the spreadsheet list; I have checked couple of them. Although the purpose isn't clear here, I guess it's certainly not bounty cheating. Campaign are trying to get impression from bounty hunter (to get more promoter) or the campaign manager is trying to show a lot of users are participating to their superior.
1830  Other / Meta / Re: Reflex Token paying for comment in their ANN thread on: December 16, 2019, 01:29:34 PM
Just report the ann thread of that project with the proof you have so mods will do their job since it's not allowed IMO.
I had reported the topic yesterday with a link to this thread. The thread isn't trashed yet nor the OP of that thread get banned. I'm really surprised what are the rules for it. They are abusing the system; trying to get bumped the thread as well as having impression from the investors I guess.
Can an admin/mod tell us why no action is taken yet on this?
1831  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: dronair team of actors ? on: December 15, 2019, 03:00:23 PM
plz someone quote so you can see screenshots
I didn't since it has been covered here already- https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5209730.0
Rikafip has already created a thread on this & DT member has tagged the bounty & ANN poster along with a flag- supported by a lot of DT member. You can lock the topic & share thoughts on the other thread if you have something else to share with the community.
1832  Other / Meta / Re: Post count issues going in forum? on: December 15, 2019, 02:44:27 PM
Probably that was deleted and you did not receive a notification from the forum. It will notify you if the deleted reply comes from a self-moderated thread or a deleted by the MOD's. If MOD's delete a useless/spam thread the entire replies were also deleted(including your reply/post) and that is the reason why you did not receive even notification and your post count will become lesser. I also encounter this and I saw the topic here in meta discussing regarding this issue but I don't know where to find it now.
I guess he is referring to something else. After his application to the signature campaign, he made 10 posts. When he applied the post count was 2246, since he made 10 posts, his post count would be 2256 or less (if he got some post deleted) but his post count is higher than expectation.
I guess it is a bug from the forum or some of your deleted post has been recovered by moderator/admin.
1833  Other / Meta / Reflex Token paying for comment in their ANN thread on: December 15, 2019, 02:26:30 PM
I was looking for cryptocurrency jobs & got this.
In bounties.network, they have offered job asking people to add comment in their ANN thread. I guess this is not ethical although the bumping system is not working for them  Cheesy

Does this offense deserve a ban?

1834  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin software wallet on: December 14, 2019, 03:41:08 PM
Sorry can't get the point what does that mean?
You may have saved an address of your friend, client or whatever in your wallet for further use in future; you can call it contact list as well  Cheesy If you recover your wallet from seed key, you will not have that list in your wallet but if you get the wallet file stored, you can get the list as well.

1836  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin software wallet on: December 13, 2019, 06:07:01 PM
I have windows 7 right now on my computer. If I download and install standalone executable and some days after my disk disk crashes. Can i still recover my coins if i have all necessary stuff written on paper (keys and seed)
As long as you have your seed key written down, you are losing nothing at all. You can recover your fund anytime with installing a new wallet & importing the seed.
But if you want to have the labels of different address & transactions, you will be required to have the wallet file as well.
1837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: IPL Mutual Pool Discussion. on: December 13, 2019, 05:11:38 PM
Count me in as well.
I'm interested to join in the pool. I guess IPL will be a great one for having a competitive pool. I guess a fee in BTC would be much fair. It can be 1 mBTC, or higher. Lower than 1 mBTC will not make the pool much bigger as you know there are not much people who would be interested in a paid pool.
1838  Other / Meta / Re: Do we need a separate sub board for Lightning wallets / nodes? on: December 13, 2019, 04:24:05 PM
I guess it is much necessary to have separate sub board for Lightning Network discussion & support. Earlier when I get inrtoduced with LN & tried to learn it, I had posted some query but never got any reply on that; although later I had managed to learn a little through creating a topic in Beginners & Help.
It would really be good since I see some interested users.

Point is, discussions will eventually start slowing down as you go, and the board will die off.
That's true, eventually every info will be here & we will get less interested person or less people posting there. The same also goes with some of the boards in wallet section which have been died.
1839  Other / Meta / Re: [TelegramBot] Merit watcher on: December 13, 2019, 04:08:47 PM
Nice one.
Couple of days ago, someone was looking for the same kind of bot if I'm correct.
By the way, will I get notification if I receive a merit? How often will I receive my stats? If it's set to 5 minutes by default, I guess it would be kinda disturbance. I would love to get notification each time if I get a merit including either the post title and/or with link to that post.
1840  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Best wallet on: December 13, 2019, 08:51:46 AM
I'm confused. The topic starter asked about a software wallet and some suggest that hardware wallets are the best ones Huh
Did he mention anywhere that he is particularly looking for software wallet? He has mentioned about physical wallet which I guess he is referring to hardware wallet.
Get back to the OP, I don't know which wallet is best for Stellar but for LTC, you can try Electrum Litecoin wallet which is flexible to use and secure enough to use for regular use purpose. For long term purpose, paper or hardware wallet is the best.
