1821  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Promoting Meaningful Engagement in the Local Board on: June 17, 2023, 04:34:49 AM
Good day everyone.
First of all, I stand to be corrected cuz no one is an island.
This post is directed to my fellow naija new comers in this forum. It’s sad that the idea SOME older members have of the newbies is that we just want to gather merits quickly which is most likely true with the kind and quality of posts and engagements most of the newbies make on the forum. This is to urge each and everyone of us to please create meaningful arguments/engage meaningfully on posts or topics on the forum so as to change this narrative and also boost our country’s reputation in the forum. There is no need to rush as there is milk and honey here if you engage meaningfully and you know what you are doing. Don’t just go to a post and reply “nice topic”, “great idea” etc just because you want to boost your activities as soon as possible.
Also to our esteemed older members, I want to please urge y’all not to neglect the newbies cuz of this narrative. In as much as some just want to rush things, there are still individuals who create meaningful contents and engage meaningfully as well.  Don’t just see a post and when you realize it’s from a ‘newbie’ you ignore or trash it. Please let’s encourage one another at every level as we soar higher.

Shalom🤍

OP, nah you dy use your mouth talk all these things oh but some of wetin you dy yan nah true small.
But ma ask you, if newbies no expect merits for there post wetin them gain nah?
See nah normal thing to wish to get merit cos nah wetin many of us newbies dy take make our account survive for this hustle. Wetin concern me nah. Before you start any topic make sure say the topic go cos better traffic (meaningful traffic oh) and people no go fit stop to send replies or ideas and with all these things dy happen for your post you tell me say senior oga and madam them go see your post just ignore am? No. As you find encouragement make you know say you need to build confidence for yourself and make you think of your post before you post am.

Abeg use your head for this hustle...

Now Kai Havertz has given the green light to offer a contract with Arsenal after positive indications. I suspect that by recruiting Kai Havertz, Arteta is targeting players who can play in various positions. Hence Caicedo, Cancelo, Timothy Castagne and now Havertz. Chelsea can't even take 70-80% of his potential! If Arsenal manage to pick him up, I'm pretty sure Arteta can put him on par with Kai Havertz. Because Most of the Chelsea players are looking bad right now because they don't have the right manager. But believe me, they have a lot of great players.

source : https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1669356502346518531

Chelsea also have very good players in my opinion and their position in the league last year was a big disappointment. I was almost sure that they would finish in the top 6, but when the league started, I was wrong. Now, if they lose such important players, they will have to pay high transfer fees to the players they will replace. They have to be a little more careful this year.

Havertz to Arsenal, is Arsenal serious on getting such a player? Well everyone says he can play in any position and his style of play suit Arsenal's pattern of play and I wonder why Arteta would go for this guy called Kai Havertz?
Well like they said "the manager knows best". I just feel that the Gunners won't start acting confused like Chelsea because I noticed that too much of players made the coaches to be confused I mean in the Chelsea side, and who is to start ahead of each other. If Chelsea could just sign less and make use of what they have I feel they might finish 3th or 4th.
1823  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam circulation, newbies be at alert. on: June 16, 2023, 01:20:59 AM
I want to bring it to the notice of all newbies and members of this forum there's a new post, going on in different board claiming to give free Bitcoins to all members of this forum. Please don't engage with it, it's a scam. I'm creating this thread because there recent increase in the rate of scammers here on Bitcointalk and they would want to target the newbies especially.

This user has created same post on 2 boards, the Eonomy and Bitcoin discussion. He locked both thread so no one would reply. I know that moderators will do away with his post soon, but he is likely to create it somewhere else or even with a new account, so just be careful and don't contact anyone from that website.

Scammers don't really have a specific target, they just make a random selection, any one that wants to fall will fall, no matter your rank on this Forum. If they have a specific target I think they won't waste any time in creating threads in different places in this Forum. OP this notification you gave is really a welcome development and I think the warning should be placed out to everyone on Bitcointalk and not only the newbies, as it is every one here is a target, we should be careful.
1824  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ UEFA Nations League final four ⚽ on: June 16, 2023, 01:00:28 AM
Spain did very well if I must say but the problem is that number 9, they don't have a better 9 to lead them to a comfortable win, 2-1 is not a comfortable win. I see no reason why Morata would be the number 9 of Spain and still act like he's still on the training ground, for what reason would an attacker who has many chances but could not convert like 2 or even all. I'd prefer having someone like Diego Costa than Morata, the man Morata is like a mistake to the Spanish national side and if they get to meet a team like England it won't be in the favor of the Spanish side.
Spain need to get a better striker and not Alvaro Morata, how I wish Immobile was a Spanish player, that's the kind Spain needs to get more goals, a sharp striker.
1825  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 15, 2023, 11:39:41 AM
Barella is a really good player, with Guimaraes that would be the start of a very good midfield so naturally as a Liverpool fan, I hope Newcastle don’t get the Italian Wink

I think the PL is going to be so competitive next season, well Man City out in front but the other big teams will be very closely matched.

Every player that's coming to any club is aiming for Champions league football and I feel Newcastle have all it takes to get Barella's deal to be done. Newcastle will cause so much problem for the big six teams next season because they're not going to let what happened last season (like losing or drawing a game with any of the big 6 team) to repeat it self come next season. They (Newcastle) will be a team to watch and Liverpool ain't having that chance of getting any deal Newcastle are chasing to secure.

Is obvious that the OP has been here long before we both got here, but all I have to say is that the OP should avoid being a double face, it can lead him/her to start breaking the rules and regulations without him/her knowing, but can we see such happening?
Sometimes newbies are hard to believe that they're truely newbies and this OP has more experience than myself in this forum, I'm just saying though.

Yea... many people say I learned too fast here. I'm a blogger, I know how to write and edit posts, just need a little improv to understand this forum. It took me 1 week to read so many rules. This is not my first forum, I participated in several blogger forums. But to understand bitcoin and its wallet is difficult. Bitcoin is something new for me

You really made it clear and I thank you for that, like you said Bitcoin is something you need to understand very well and if you must get involved in it, a trading strategy is also needed. You can ask questions, we have traders in this Forum, someone like zasad@
I feel he has much to let you know and this forum have so many that I don't know of.
1827  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I'am a newbie on: June 15, 2023, 05:53:03 AM

I don't know if what I'm doing is right or not, but maybe I think it's the best way to start in this forum. Honestly, I'm still afraid of violating the rules and getting banned. I know there are many members who got banned, but I don't know what they did wrong

OP, if not for your rank I would have said you're not a newbie 😅. Lemme just act like you're really new here 😅. We have those set of people who learn very fast and you fall among those people (that's if you're a true newbie). When I first got here I was really scared in everything I do, even asking of topic related questions to high ranked members scares me even now😅.
Is best you don't know what those users who got banned did, since you know that if anyone violate the rules and regulations it gets bad for the person and his/her account I'd say you should just keep your head straight and continue doing the right thing by following the R&R of this Forum, if you keep doing that I don't see you getting into any trouble.

Looking at your profile and your post history, I no longer consider you a newbie, especially for someone who drops a comment and posts like this one: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5253221.msg62387639#msg62387639.

Is obvious that the OP has been here long before we both got here, but all I have to say is that the OP should avoid being a double face, it can lead him/her to start breaking the rules and regulations without him/her knowing, but can we see such happening?

1828  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Which is the best board to focus on as a newbie in the forum? on: June 15, 2023, 05:10:10 AM
I find it easier to post on gambling, economics, politics and several others, but I want to know which board to focus more on as a newbie, what's your say on this? I'm open to learning from your opinions.

At least you have places you find interesting to post and I believe you have so much ideas and contributions to add to those mentioned boards (that's was how I started). I'd advise you to continue posting on those boards but try as much as you can to involve yourself on other boards like Bitcoin Discussion, Meta etc because there would be a time that you have to involve yourself on those boards more than your preferred boards, when you keep doing that it won't be like a new thing to you.
1829  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife on wedding. on: June 14, 2023, 03:08:15 PM
OP are you serious about this?
Before taking this decision hope you won't start regretting it in the future, imagine your wife doesn't have any idea of what you giving her and she sees it as rubbish hope it won't make you feel bad. Is a very sweet gift and anyone who knows about it would scream the heavens out. To me I'd say you should try to know if your wife have any idea about Bitcoin or you should probably use the BTC and get her something expensive instead of giving it to her.
1830  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2022/23 on: June 14, 2023, 11:34:33 AM
but you need to know that Mbappe and Benzema both have the same performance strengths, it's just that these performances are at different times. like Benzema was one of the best players in the past and now a young player with extraordinary talent is emerging, namely Mbappe.
just try that Benzema has the same age as Mbappe, of course these two players are equally great.
and I said that Benzema is more like a senior and Mbappe is the successor to Benzema's best player.

I won't say that between both players because Benzema has seen it all in the world of football, to me Mbappe has gotten to the stage where you get to compare both players. Benzema have seen so many UCL finals and he performed extremely well aside from world cup finals which he didn't win. But on the national side he's still one of the best striker France have got, so I won't say their performance are the same, in as much as Mbappe is still young, he can even do better.

Quote
related to rumors that Mbappe will be bought by Real Madrid, this will strengthen Madrid's performance and it will be very easy for Madrid to win the title in the UCL.

Is just a rumor and this isn't the first time that we're having this kind of speculation about him going to Madrid.
Real Madrid has all it takes to even do better next season and if Mbappe should join the Los Blancos then I think that team won't be that ok in terms of communication. Mbappe is a very proud player and it would be very bad if he introduce that bad energy he has at PSG to the Madrid side. His attitude is something to worry about that's if he joins the Madrid side.
1831  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people stay poor? on: June 14, 2023, 06:55:18 AM
Sometimes an individual (business owner) who has everything you could think of can one day go bankrupt or things can be going bad for him/her. It could make the individual to start selling things in his/her possession but it can't be ordinary in some situation and if you look closely everything he/she has being doing to continue getting paid are suppose to be going well, but is like the that individual offend the gods of investment. What I'm saying is that staying poor or being poor can sometimes be spiritual, the destiny of someone might be tempered with, just to frustrate that person.
1832  Economy / Economics / Re: Rent or buy real estate - let's have a debate on: June 14, 2023, 06:35:18 AM
Let's assume, you are well capable enough to buy a new property through bank loan. Your income supports the mortgage payment so banks are willing to lend you money.

What will be the best route to take? Buy the property or stay in a rented place?

That's if I'm to take the loan from the bank, well it all depends on your pocket (if it's financially healthy, that's to pay back) because to me I'd say buying a property is the best. Having the property to yourself won't warrant anybody to come ask for monthly or yearly rent, the only bill you'd pay doesn't concern anyone outside your property. But renting it would attract more expenses, you have to work yourself out, you'd work x2 of your working hours just to meet up expectation.
1833  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: June 13, 2023, 09:43:35 AM
Napoli should avoid falling into the overconfidence trap, the team and administration should take all responsibilities to keep the club in the top, we really enjoyed seeing Napoli in the top and personally i believe that the team of maradona deserve to be always in the top

Napoli has done well this season but the problem is that, are they (Napoli) going to be consistent come next season? That's something to worry about, because the last Champions of the Italian Seria A (Ac Milan) didn't even get that close to shaking the table like giving the team at the top (Napoli) a tough time. Is not a guarantee that Napoli will defend their title next season or finishing in the top 4 at the table and with the coach of the Napoli side leaving the team is something to worry about... Who's next to leave the team, V. Osimhen? Let's see how the transfer window will be like.
1834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How important is it to keep your bitcoin investments secret from others ? on: June 13, 2023, 04:07:12 AM
Recently, I came to read this news

https://protos.com/spanish-police-rescue-crypto-investor-kidnapped-on-holiday/

The first thing that came to my mind after reading this was that one should not talk about his crypto investments with strangers or friends as it can pose various risks. If you are active on forums like bitcointalk and involved in trades, you should not give information which can help others relate to your identity.

I don't thinking we're all safe or 100% secured when it comes to keeping our Bitcoin related activities, one way or the other it can get out. I really don't know but what if someone with a huge Bitcoin assets dies, no one has any information about his/her investment not even the key to the wallet. Is everything going to die off like the owner?
To me I just feel is best to take that risk of telling someone you trust or believe wouldn't let you down, because is a 50/50 thing, letting your secret out is a risk and not telling anybody is a risk too. So which is best?
1835  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the best career for women on: June 13, 2023, 03:37:34 AM
Bitcoin's popularity is increasing day by day. Now in today's society both men and women are working shoulder to shoulder together in the office. No exception to this, women are also very interested in Bitcoin and current Bitcoin. The reason for interest is that when a woman works in an office, it becomes a bit difficult for her to juggle family and children. In today's society we see many working women leave their children with the workers and go to office, those children are abused by the workers. I think all the sisters who have chosen this bitcoin as their profession should not face such problems. Because after all the children's work and household chores, there will be enough time to devote to bitcoins. So choosing Bitcoin as a career can be a good decision for girls.

In as much as Bitcoin is a cryptocurrence that act as money and also uses blockchain technology to support P2P transactions between users on a decentralized network, it doesn't mean that one would look up to it as a profession.
Women should engage in it (Bitcoin) doesn't mean they have to quit their current job because they aren't meeting up family responsibilities.
Some people do more hectic jobs and still have time to run through the family chores and is not a problem to them. If you say choosing Bitcoin will be best for girls then you might as well channel that to those who ain't working but stays at home 24/7 they can fit in.
Well, to me I'd say if Bitcoin is human it won't choose a specific gender to engage in it but that doesn't mean you'd say is best for "women". To make it easy for busy women, is best to engage in a stress free jobs, that would help with household chores and being with the family.
1836  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My father thinks I'm working in a shop,he didn't know I'm bitcointalking. on: June 12, 2023, 07:18:14 PM
Getting a main job is very important,  I think it can last  longer than just putting all fate in signature. Atleast their should be something else one can look up to aside the signature campaign. The signature campaign is a support system to support business or any project but it should not just only be what one will rely on as a source of income. Signature campaign is only temporary and it can't be predicted how long it will last, so it is not what is needed to put all hope on it  without having another source of income.

I agree with you but what about those people who just started earning and haven't gone far in any signature campaign? I feel is just a matter of time before one can start looking for another means of getting additional money to support the signature campaign earning. The campaign is not forever but you'd make use of the time you have with any of the campaign you're in then plan on doing something else with what you have gathered to maybe start up a business, like they say "is not good to put all your eggs in one basket" we should always have a plan B.
1837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 12, 2023, 06:04:11 AM
Currently Chelsea starts moving to approach several players one of them is Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana, although Inter lost in the Champions League but Andre Onana's performance was a concern of several clubs, besides that, Leeds goalkeeper Illan Meslier is also on the list it seems that Chelsea want to get these two goalkeepers when replacing the current goalkeeper who will soon be released.

Recruiting players in every transfer window is just not the main issue with Chelsea at the moment, the issue here are some players, to me I see Chelsea as a complete team  but can the coach work with what he has got?
Bringing a new goalkeeper is just another way of showing their desperation. The Inter goalkeeper is a great goalie no doubt but what about Kepa or Mendy, good goalkeepers but the defense always expose them both.
With Chelsea running around looking for whom to buy I'd advise they remove those players that doesn't add up anything to the team. But it might be something different for the new manager in making use of these players. IMO, I don't see pochettino signing up to 5 players before the beginning of the campaign.
1838  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Earning online more preferable than offline? on: June 12, 2023, 05:27:30 AM
Online jobs are better than offline in different ways, many would agree and prefer online other than offline. You do things  yourself without getting worried about settling bills or even transport fare, traffic and all that.
You get to monitor your investment any where any time, you're in control of everything that comes in and out. In online trading the brokerage fee is lower compared to commission charged by traditional ful service brokers.
1839  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcointalk is not an office on: June 12, 2023, 04:48:55 AM
I read different articles of newbie particular in beginners and help board and I notice that so many of the newbie have in mind that bitcointalk is an office to fetch and earn money. And it's noted that the primary agenda of making bitcointalk is to have a different reasons and suggestions of making the problem of bitcoin to be lesser, I will say some people are not informed of why bitcointalk is been created and its the reason why everytime some newbie make first and second post you know that their plan of registering is to earn a bitcoin.

The information given to newbies might be the reason they think that way but to me I see nothing wrong in taking Bitcointalk as an office, because you only take what's important to you very seriously. If newbies take this Forum as a play ground I don't think the zeal of coming or staying active and even struggling to get a quality post would be there. We must tell ourselves the truth, in as much as we came here to learn and contribute to this forum I must say that earning is part of why we're here, some might disagree but that's the truth. If not so then OP why are you here? Is it to just come online and greet other users or post then logout? I don't think so.

Quote

List of things newbie should know as a beginner

~ The purpose of bitcointalk is to share knowledge of cryptocurrency across each others
~ Having earning in mind to register in bitcointalk will make you as a Newbie not to know the advantages and disadvantages of bitcoin
~ learning is the primary thing that will make newbie to understand the features of cryptocurrency
~ knowledge of cryptocurrency and bitcoin precisely remains constant and it can pave way for you to earn in future if been understood

I agree with you on that but when you say it shouldn't be taken as an office [Bitcointalk] then why all these? All these things you mentioned should even be the main reason why you should take Bitcointalk as your office, you shouldn't come here and joke with what you cherish if not moderators and higher ranked members would allow negative things to go on (spamming, plagiarism, scammers to freely do there thing, e.t.c). So to me, taking Bitcointalk as an office would make every user take here serious without messing up.

Quote
~ Don't be conscious of merit but understand the system of making quality posts
~ Engage in a conversation mostly related in bitcoin.

The merit part is really tempting to newbies, ones they know that this is what would rank you up then boom, lack of concentration would come in, is hard but I'd still say newbies should also try and be flexible. When you expect much you'd get nothing but whenever you expect less the results will make you smile. Being in a conversation concerning Bitcoin and other topics would even boost your recognition in the Forum. That's why I'll always say your ideas are needed here in Bitcoin. Let's take Bitcoin as a place of work (an office) and also a school.
1840  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Gambling is different from trading on: June 12, 2023, 03:31:18 AM
Trading isn't gambling, gambling involves random chances and the possibility of something to happen, that's you not being sure of it. Gambling is a game of luck while trading has to do with skill. You're betting on your roll or dise to defeat everyone else, you can't control the roll of dise in gambling that's how you can't predict the market on a given day. That's to say trading can't be predicted on like gambling and there are similarities between the both of them (trading and gambling), they both involves high level of risk and it could cost you everything you have worked for so one need to be extremely careful in making decisions or the strategy to follow. The best is to focus on short-term gains rather than long term success.
