Funnily enough, europe is just not there on the bitcoin map!
http://bitinfocharts.com/bitcoin/nodes-active/

So all eyes on the China figure. Is that going to reduce now?

....also, who understands where Russia is with BTC? The next narrative, possibly.  Undecided

I know this is Off Topic, but just wanting to put out a feeler for 2 things:

1) Coders here who might be interested in being contacted for a future project related to help with BTC trading, please PM me.

2) Where would *you* post on this site to actually reach out to other good coders where they will see it?

I dont believe the sec is calling somebody in this case... they might send a formal letter or invite you to ask their questions

They did. And I'm not the only one who was contacted either. Search these forums. There was someone else who got a call that posted too.

Wait, the SEC called you a few weeks ago about Ukyo, and you didn't think it was newsworthy enough to mention until now?

Bingo
1826  Economy / Securities / Re: [ActiveMining] The Official Active Mining Discussion Thread [Self-Moderated] on: December 10, 2013, 08:02:20 PM
You didn't divide the coins mined by 50%. Should be 3528? 0.0003528 per share.
Still very good and positive. The only thing is we need the chips!

Thanks again Jimmy I've now adjusted for the 50% mined-coin split, a silly mistake.

I actually thought the final share price of 0.06 was a bit high, as last time I did these calculations it was nearer 0.04 BTC.

So the amendment means the 0.0025BTC guarantee to shareholders will be paid out in full by May not April.

Total yearly divs are conservatively estimated to be from 0.0074 to 0.018 BTC - depending on BTC price.

So the target share price with a Price/Earnings ratio of 5:1 and BTC at 2,000USD is 0.037 BTC per share.

Just going to run these numbers real quick for you:

.037 BTC * 25,000,000 = 925,000 BTC. @ $2,000 that is a fiat evaluation of $1,850,000,000.00.

Cheers.

Yep. Late 90's dot-com accounting projections, are back with us again.  Lips sealed
1827  Economy / Securities / Re: [BitFunder] Moving Forward/Resolution Process on: December 10, 2013, 07:40:21 PM
Nope, not saying in anyway that laws were not broken. They obviously were, and we all knew that when we invested our coins! What I am saying is he is not alone in this endeavor, he has a partner everyone seems to forget about, and the quickest link to follow from the site to law enforcement would be via the website and business registration.

That said, any involvement of SEC or ASIC will more than likely not result in any of your funds being returned to you. ASIC actually states that you would need to attempt that on your own.

If people are not willing to try and legally get their funds back, and also are unwilling to pursue the criminal route, continued posting here is pointless.

Actually, I talked to the SEC a few weeks ago (they called me, I did not call them!) and they said that if they discovered any fraud they would do their best to return money to the investors. So, yes, the SEC will help you out, but it will likely take a long time.

Personally, I would get a lawyer for faster results if you are inclined, but I've decided to wait a little bit more and see what happens first. I still have faith that Ukyo will come up with some kind of plan and I appreciate everything Neo&Bee is doing to help this situation.

Where did the SEC get your phone number from, and how did they connect you to BF/Weex?

They connected me to it because they read these forums and they saw me posting here.

They got my phone number by googling me, most likely. I'm not exactly sure how they figured out who I am but I have not tried to stay anonymous so I'm sure it wasn't terribly difficult.

Where did you post about this, after they called?
1828  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Swiss parliamentary postulate: Bitcoin is a currency on: December 10, 2013, 01:56:35 PM
Is it possible for non-citizens to temporarily reside in Switzerland and sell their Bitcoins for CHF?

In theory, yes. Unless you are from the US or Eritrea. These are the only two countries that tax their citizens regardless of where they live.

If there a double-taxation agreement in place with your country and Switzerland, taxes are usually calculated pro rata. I.e. if you move to Switzerland on July 1st, you have to pay 50% taxes in Switzerland and 50% taxes in your previous country - regardless of whether you realize your capital gains before or after July 1st. Thus, if you want to realize are your gains in Switzerland, you would have to live here from January 1st until December 31st of the relevant year. Also, if your country of origin is outside the EU, it might not be easy to get a residence permit in Switzerland.

I used to understand inter-Europe residency, for tax purposes, was defined as 6months+1day, permanently in the country you wanted to declare in. Thats probably been updated recently though.

Excuse my ignorance: how are capital gains of foreign currency holdings taxed?

No capital gain taxes for private persons as long as you are not living of trading, basically. So the ordinary citisen will only pay welth tax (not much), no capital gain tax. However, you can not deduct losses from your income either.

This is true for UK, in that, it has the same parallel if you were spread-betting.....if you can show a legitimately consistent income from elsewhere, any gains from trading spread-betting derivatives can legally be exempt. It even says so on the websites (4th/5th lines up from bottom of page)......

http://www.cityindex.co.uk/offers-spread-betting/?cid=0000225704&utm_source=bing&utm_medium=cpc&utm_term=spread%20betting&ef_id=UqRG9gAAAUTp@NHj:20131210095504:s

"......and depend on individual circumstances." is a reference to your own EXISTING taxable income, with an understanding that that existing income cannot be derived from trading activities.

And yes, some dodgy City Boys have been pushing the boundaries on this, for years!!

Think we may see some alignment within Europe in regards of tax treatment soon.
Recent musings from UK taking Bitcoin down a 'voucher' route, is not going to happen. It now looks like HMRC (and possibly other European jurisdictions), are going to declare it currency, but not legal tender.

The bitcoins are simply not there anymore, we are continuing to work through the implementation of a number of solutions to correct the issue.

Where have they gone ? Can you answere this question or will you ignore it?

It cannot be ignored, but it cannot be answered at this time, also. For now, just read between the lines and see if you judged right in the weeks to come.

Cant think of many examples where someone has so overtly publicised the fact, that he is prepared to help people get missing funds back, and thereby put his own reputation on the line. Sure, there may or may not be a vested interest and/or parallel agenda in play here, but lets be thankful for having someone who's shrewd enough to see a win win opportunity, and someone with the bollocks to carry it out.

We have a date when funds should start moving. Thats a step closer, right?

Yet another pointless PM from TKeenan DGurlari.....

"What's the problem?  Why don't you go fuck yourself?   You asked for niceties as part of a transaction - I don't give those.  I just give MSC.  For people who demand niceties - I say go fuck yourself.  Where's the trouble with that?  I don't have to do a deal with pleasantries - it is just BTC for MSC.  If you are looking for more than that, you shouldn't respond to my offers.  Got it now?"

And here is another one from last week....

"panic up - like those pussies and get your price down to .158 and I'll take them."

I hope people are now as informed as i, and are able to make a considered decision.

DGulari.
Would you trust someone who sends PM's like this?......
"How is this for niceties: 'go fuck yourself'!!!  What not nice enough?  Then go fuck yourself sideways.  You are the offering seller moron - you are not doing me any favors."

Or, would you trust someone who had more than one identity, here?
Look, I don't know how many times I've got to tell you this... go fuck yourself.  It doesn't have anything to do with trust - I've met all my promises - whether or not you've been able to accomplish the act suggested doesn't reflect upon my delivering that what is promised.

Why in your opinion do i have to go fuck myself again?

1838  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: MasterCoin Buyer/Seller Thread on: December 06, 2013, 10:09:49 AM
Maybe I didn't understand but if you are saying that you are not taking responsibility to loss of MSC and the amount of time is the same why is a percentage fee justified on large trades?
Even where he doesn't provide a guarantee - he must take greater care in handling large BTC.  Large transactions deserve a larger fee.  Just not over $100.  That is a lot.  I'll be signing up for escrow job if I get $100 to make one MSC transfer.

But nobody will use you because you have made 0 transactions on these forums, and you are a newcomer with very low activity and no seniority.

Trust must be earned day by day - otherwise is too easy for scammers to do their thing in here.

And yes, a 1% escrow fee is totally necessary.
I bought and sold many.  200 last week.  Where have you been?

DGulari.
