Voting round finished. Winner is OrbitCoin with 324 votes! (0 BTC + 324 free).
we need to wait for the next round.
Well you could have said it was for the exchange and not the logo contest!
I almost had a heart attack. Smiley
1862  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: GPU/CPU Coin Helping Science - The Curecoin Train [Protein Folding w/ Stanford] on: November 17, 2014, 06:53:48 AM
My R9 290X isn't compatible. Sad

Yes it is compatible with folding@home. Are you having some sort of trouble setting it up? Have you followed the guide to setting it up? Let me know and I can try to help you. You should be able to get around 200k PPD with this GPU - in fact I'm planning on buying one to use for folding since after the Litecoin fiasco they are going for very cheap.
Thanks. When I let the program mine with my card, it says something along the lines of "card not found" or something. (I'm away from the computer right now)
How long does it take to get the 200k? Because that's 20 btc. Mistake?

To start 200k PPD does not mean 200k curecoin.

200k PPD means 200,000 points per day.

The formula for curecoin/day = (your points per day/teams points per day)*7500~

As for GPU not found, try plugging in your monitor (if you are using one) directly into your GPU and restarting it. Otherwise post your question here: https://foldingforum.org/viewforum.php?f=38 and there will be people to help you set it up.
Ok, I got it working but for some reason the client says my ppd will be 1.6k. I don't know what's wrong. Do you have any idea as to what it could be?
1863  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Logo Contest on: November 17, 2014, 02:28:21 AM
Looks like it would be possible to get around 500 kh/s out of amd r9 280x but I'm sure that by tuning some parameters you would be able to get more. Miner isn't ready yet, last missing piece is yet to be implemented, currently it generates invalid blocks. Will release it as soon as it is ready, probably 1-2 days.

Does anyone know how long it is until we start voting for logos?
In fact voting was supposed to start today. But there are just two submissions even though I contacted everyone who was posting logos in this thread, maybe I didn't make it clear that voting should start today and people think that there is more time.

I really need to sleep now, I was working on this miner for many hours today (and not only today), will decide tomorrow what to do with this situation, probably we should give people some more time to submit logos.
Maybe you should let the voting start now and if people send you their submissions then you can add them in.

I was supprised to see that no one made a thread on this app last week.
I really like the app, my friends at school have it and we try to beat eachother (at the game).

Here's a splash screen I made;

1870  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][SPR] SpreadCoin | True Decentralization (No Pools) | Logo Contest on: November 15, 2014, 10:31:35 AM
I will send this message to everyone who posted logos in this thread.

You need to submit logo (or several logos if you want) before the end of this week. You can PM me or post it in this thread with a clear statement that this is the final variant of your logo. Your logo must be 512x512 png with alpha channel.

According to the rules it is also necessary to submit additional images. Almost no one makes these additional images so I will allow everyone to participate even without them but submitting them is a plus. You can also choose to use original images if your logo is using the same color scheme.
Ok, I'm going to go ahead and make the additional images.
But before I do, which logo of the above 2 do you like the most? (I'm asking everyone)
1871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: e1ghtSpace's Logos on: November 15, 2014, 06:00:04 AM
Heres Mine so far; (I'll update this post as I go along finding the links the pictures)

This one's glow symbolises the decentralised spread of the coins.

Variation 1

Variation 2

Please comment on which one you like the best so I can make the additional images.

WTB 5000 Spreadcoin for 0.1 BTC (total). Will buy smaller portions as well.
I doubt anyone is going to give it to you that cheap!

Just go onto the exchange;

Does this mean Bitcoin's price will go through the roof?
1874  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Premine Stealing? on: November 14, 2014, 10:21:47 PM
Has anyone ever found a coin that just launched, then downloaded the wallet, turned off their internet and mined the first few blocks (including the premine). Then turned their internet back on, synced the blockchain and had overtaken the old chain, effectively stealing the premine?

It would be funny if this happened.
Im sure someone could do this to an sha256 coin if they had a 1th/s miner.
1875  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MOTO] Motocoin on: November 14, 2014, 10:05:49 PM
I don't understand what you try to say too. Please advertise elsewhere.
Quote
It seems the only difference from "proof-of-play" of MOTO is mined HYPER coin count is not proportional to the count of miners/players.
Proof of Play in MOTO is specific form of proof-of-work which human can perform (almost?) as good as program. It's used to secure network (in practice no everything is so rosy now, but anyway). And there is space to AI improvements and research. Motocoin is indeed interesting and original concept for crypto and maybe it's only the first of future experimental family of the cryptocurrencies.
almost? It is full of bots for months. And there are so much space for improvements that the last update was on 24 may

Bots are part of the history, just like ASIC's are part of Bitcoin history. And also, the dev isn't omnipresent, nor does he have 8 arms.
the developer has already leaved this project))
Only the first developer has (seemingly) left. WilliamLie. But HMC is still here.
I still think that the only way we are going to get the players we need is by doing a relaunch.
Does anyone agree with me?

What if we do a relaunch, except that we have a premine and then after the first block in the new version, we send every address that has motocoin in this version the same amount. All we need to do is transfer our wallet.dat over to the new version's %appdata% folder. Exactly like Clams (the coin).

I can't wait to mine this. Nice anti-instamine! I hate when other coins don't have that.
