[b]Motocoin[/b] is a cryptocurrency utilizing an innovative [i]proof-of-play[/i] scheme where coins can only be mined by cognitive workload - playing a 2D motorbike simulation game, which is different from Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies that use a [i]proof-of-work[/i] scheme where miners must perform difficult computations and then use proof of that work to secure coin transactions and get their reward. Motocoin has been dominated by bots but now a fast, publicly available bot has been released, giving everyone a fair chance at mining.

[li]The reward for solving a block starts at 20 motocoins, which is halved every 1'000'000 blocks (about two years) and stops decreasing at 0.4 motocoins per block.[/li]
[li]Mining difficulty is adjusted every 2000 blocks through lowering the target time if blocks took less than an average of 60 seconds to generate, or raising the target time if blocks took longer than that.[/li]
[li]≈40 million coins are to be generated during the first 12 years and ≈200,000 coins per year after.[/li]
[li]450K premine (was partially used for rewards, the rest was sold in panic during the early days of Motocoin).[/li]

Open explorer, and type into the address bar:

%APPDATA%\Motocoin

Open the Finder by pressing [shift] + [cmd] + [g] and then enter:

~/Library/Application Support/Motocoin/


[b]For Linux users[/b]
The directory is hidden in your User folder. Go to:

~/.motocoin/


[b]Copy the bootstrap.dat file to this folder.[/b]

Now (re)start motocoin-qt and if everything worked, you will see "Importing blocks from disk..." in the bottom left corner of the wallet.
The Motocoin client will then sync to the date the bootstrap.dat file was created, which was the 15th of December 2017.
Then the client will use the peers to sync to the latest block.
