ETN Hab mich letztens über ETNs informiert. Es gibt grundsätzlich 2 arten wie der zu trackende Preis abgebildet wird: - fully tracked: der Ausgeber hält die "Sachen" (z.B. Aktien, Bitcoins,...) in voller Höhe der am Primärmakrt emmitierten Anteile vor
- synthetically tracked: bis zu ~10% des trackings werden über swaps geregelt (swap ausfall Risiko)
Bei beiden Varianten besteht third party Risk, da der Ausgeber die gehaltenen "Sachen" gegen Sicherheiten verleihen kann (z.B. and Hedgefonds zum shorten). Das Risiko besteht dann im Ausfall dieser Sicherheiten. Wenn jemand interesse hat, kann ich das paper nochmal suchen. War in Bezug auf Europäische Index ETNs (die es seit ca. 10 Jahren oder so gibt). Wie dieser Bitcoin ETN funzt und ob dort so ein Risiko besteht (und noch wichtiger: ob der Ausgeber die Bitcoins verleiht), weiss ich nicht. Weiss das jemand? |

This is what I find funny about the btc community, $4k btc sounds crazy yet it is nowhere near as crazy to me as the idea a couple of nerds cpu mined thousands of bitcoins for winter heating prices and turned those into $1,000 a piece. Bitcoin's market cap is tiny, tiny tiny compared to a typical fortune 500 company or a few blocks of prime real estate in a major American city, it has alot of room to grow. I fail to see how that's funny. Imagine Bitcoin really becomes a large-scale success at least in the store-of-wealth arena, largely replacing gold, tbtb unable to suppress it. What happens when a large chunk of the worlds wealth is transferred to a couple of crypto geeks and gamer kids? I don't think that's funny. It's very interesting, though. Maybe prodigious. |

Naja die meisten Griechen dürften nicht erst seit der Auszahlungsgrenze Bargeld abheben, da wird ja allgemein mehr mit Bargeld gezahlt und wenn die Banken keine option sind und der Euro nicht wirklich besser ist, könnte doch das ein oder andere Sparschwein in BTC fliesen. Dafür wären aber optimaler weise flächendeckende BTC ATMs notwendig.
Damals bei der Zypern-Sache hab ich mal kurz überlegt, ob sich nicht ein Urlaub auf Zypern lohnen könnte... mit Bitcoins im Gepäck natürlich. Das Problem ist: was mach ich dann mit den Euros... die kann ich ja dank Kapitalkontrollen nicht so einfach wieder mit nach Hause nehmen. Betreiber von ATMs dürften dasselbe Problem haben. Die müssen ja mit den Euros auch wieder BTC kaufen... wie, wenn man keine SEPA-Überweisung in's Ausland machen kann... |

Bitcoin und Griechenland ist eine Spekulation, mehr leider nicht. Wie sollen die Griechen an Bitcoins kommen wenn der Geldverkehr kontrolliert wird. Der welcher vorher 60 EUR am Tag abholen konnte wird dies nutzen um sich was zu essen zu kaufen. Es bleibt eine ganz kleine Minderheit welche investiert.
Es geht ja nicht darum, daß die Griechen bitcoins kaufen. Es geht darum daß den Menschen bewusst wird, wie unser Banken- und Geldsystem funktioniert. Wenn sich die Leute vorstellen wie es wohl ist, wenn man "sein Geld" von der Bank nicht mehr bekommt, ihnen vielleicht sogar klar wird, daß es garnicht "sein Geld" ist und im Idealfall versteht wie Kreditgeldschöpfung funktioniert, dann ist schon viel gewonnen. Veränderung fängt in den Köpfen der Menschen an. Und ja: darauf wird spekuliert... das macht die Veränderung nicht weniger real. |

wow, destroying businesses of potentially great entrepreneurs is the worst thing Greece could do, I sympathized to the country government but not anymore, I just think they are fucking stupid kids with power, making their citizens suffer for the damage they have done. If you can't run a country, why do you want to doom it so bad?
Your pointing finger at the wrong guys. The government isn't the entity screwing the people and the country: it's the bankers. The government is just a tool. They even put bankers there in 2011. not gonna happen for sure mate , there won't be any big pump on Bitcoin price unless we reach the next halving block reward or two . which will be next 2016 and the other one on 2020 or something .
Be careful with those bolded words and bitcoin. I wouldn't rule it out. Depends on exactly what a "big pump" is, too. |

$4k in 24 months is more believable. We won't see similar timeframes as previous jumps, even if the scale is generally the same.
The reward halving should do the trick to get things going. So I'm betting we will have reached this target by end of 2016. |

nach den gestrigen Turbulenzen hat sich der Nebel leicht gelichtet und es ergibt sich folgendes bild (very short term, bitfinex)  Es bleibt also spannend. Bein Gefühl sagt wir könnten eine kleine Korrektur auf $~260 sehen. |

In the beginning of 2013 bitcoin traded at 15$ and went up to 250$ in the following 4 months. That's 16x rise! We are currently at 270$, 5 weeks green in a row, exactly as it was before the Cyprus crisis. 270*16 = 4320  I used similar logic to make an 'insane' projection in February '13 (EDIT: incidentally very close to the "we are here" hyena drew above): Assuming that the two boom patterns should be similar (i.e. the whole thing be a fractal) - then the second is still very far from the top, it still might grow maybe 10 times. Exactly. In my opinion the current situation is at most a "small bubble", meaning that there can be a correction, but it's unlikely to be a deep one. To experience a "massive bubble" we would need to see the all time high broken and then panic buys from there. That is the point when it's smart to become skeptical. there have been 3 "steps" in the 2011 runup to the bubble (from base of about $1): - the jump to $2
- the jump to $4
- the jump to $9
So the top of the current bubble is either 450, 225 or 100 depending what "jump" the current one is similar to.I don't believe in this fractal stuff applying to markets somehow, though. I clearly remember being ridiculed for putting such insanely high numbers, but I can't find the posts. Maybe deleted in shame. So I'm with you, hyena, and we'll laugh last  |

Ich denke schon, das der erneute Anlauf auf 270 mit dem Griechenland-Referendum zu tun hat. Passt zeitlich einfach _zu_ gut Mal sehen ob es diesmal reicht die Marke zu überspringen. natürlich hat das mit Griechenland (oder besser mit dem Euro und dem Bankensystem) zu tun. Reloading at the 200 day SMA support--who's ready for some fireworks this weekend?
For a novice, and if you don't mind for sure, could you elaborate this for me please  200 day SMA support look at the blue line, that's the 200 day SMA.  SMA means "simple moving average". It's the average of the last 200 datapoints. So with daily resolution it shows the average of the last 200 days. Hence "200 day SMA". It has been resistance or way above for the last year and we broke through it recently. Now it might act as support, as many hope. If it does, the tides may be turning.
