I also would be willing to buy one and pay the $50 load value on top of the note value
1883  Economy / Collectibles / Re: FUNDED COLLECTIBLES on: January 17, 2023, 05:27:21 PM

so don't gamble with our trust and destroy the private key for every new created BTC address after the whole procedure - otherwise there will be the next corpses!!!

100%.

Wise words of Mike Caldwell... "I don't want people to believe I am the custodian... I didn't want the feeling of the temptation, ..."

Can you imagine the temptation if Casascius kept the keys?   Shocked

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zBUD7tPiDQ4

at around 37:00 - 38:00

that is why a maker needs to follow the process - there is zero reason to save keys. maybe while working on a project but once it's done - zero reason to keep. Anyone keeping beyond that point is either nefarious or ignorant.

1886  Economy / Collectibles / Re: FUNDED COLLECTIBLES on: January 17, 2023, 05:41:42 AM
went with other - for me if the item is close to value ie a 1 oz silver coin for 100 or so (which is still 5x spot price) maybe I will buy funded, make it 200 or up and fuck that I will want a DIY.

I like there to be the option of funded or DIY - I think its fuckin retarded to have "Funded" and "Buyer Funded" when the Buyer does both funding direct - essentially no difference. The only thing that does is risk losing the BTC if the coin is lost.

If it is "Funded" then it should be verified funded from the maker and not from the buyer - otherwise the buyer should not have to fund it prior to shipment.  Hell, the maker should not fund it until the buyer confirms receipt.

1890  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [RANT] Can we stop with the coins / wallets / collectables with private keys on: January 16, 2023, 05:08:19 PM

I agree me as well. BUT for any large BTC loaded items I only trust the original founders of our hobby once like Casascius and Bitbills...and the rest that have anything with less than $50 or less such as Satori's

possibly offer the same for your coins then?  your coins were 1 LTC, 1 XMR and 200 doge - only the doge was under $50 the LTC was 70ish at the time if i recall and the xmr was around 150

It is not that I dont trust you - I just dont like to have that much locked up on a collectible - it keeps me from buying more collectibles - that is why I liked cold keys - were all at 50 euros

I hear ya and I feel ya...my latest 3d ones are only 0.0001 BTC and a loaded NFT...so less than $3 in BTC

well go a bit higher than that sir lol the $50 range is a sweet spot Smiley

I think everyone is missed with yogg alt account yogg_alt since no one have left negative feedback yet except me.

His last active was January 15, 2023, 05:09:10 AM, it means he's really aware and keep watching this mess for sure, I don't see any chance he will resolve this case since he's not making any reply.

thanks for pointing this out.... I added a neg as well. he comes online AFTER the bullshit with his alt and sees the mayhem and does nothing still - man is digging a bigger hole.

1893  Economy / Collectibles / Re: How long should I wait on a seller to respond? on: January 16, 2023, 03:14:50 AM
Maker reached out. All is right in the world, thx for letting g me figure out

awesome news

I run into the reverse situations where buyers say they want things and I get them, set them aside and then they dont answer dms, never pay and yet are still active on forums lol

1894  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [IDEA] Removing trust from physical coin makers re: Priv Key generation on: January 15, 2023, 09:22:37 PM
I have thought about encoding private keys to nfc tag
If it breaks, your money is gone. With a 10 plus years lifespan, that's a real risk for collectibles.

Good point. I was not aware of any 10 year lifespan.
1895  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [IDEA] Removing trust from physical coin makers re: Priv Key generation on: January 15, 2023, 06:55:43 PM
can nfc tech be used to solve/aide in any of this?

I have thought about encoding private keys to nfc tag and then having some sort of key that unlocks the nfc chip if its split key then the "user" part is on the nfc tag while the maker part is under the tag and under the holo.

havent got a chance to play with this idea yet though.

Yes! Whyfhy! He actually had me play with it when he was working on it a while back the name was just eluding me yesterday

As for the paper - yes that is very important - ask satslife the nightmare he had with an xmr coin a while back - luckily they did get if remedied and figured out but the key was literally falling apart/fading as he watched it - luckily he took pictures
1898  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [RANT] Can we stop with the coins / wallets / collectables with private keys on: January 15, 2023, 04:37:59 PM
another simply solution - as a creator, dont fucking save keys - ever.

I doubt this will eliminate private keys on collectibles - that is part of the allure to the collectibles - but maybe always at least offer it as a DIY.

The ones that get me are the "funded" and "buyer funded" - in where the buyer directly funds the item in both cases yet only one is called "buyer funded"

I do make keys - and a lot of them for people here and elsewhere - but I always try to teach them or at least tell them they should make their own.

There are steps and processes to insure that as a creator you never expose keys to theft or use. Never save them, never leave them laying around, never keep them...

I think there will just always need to be a DIY option.

that said, I do like the opendime use except my fear with those is they get broke or fried - then you're fucked.
DIY is the way because even if the maker says they destory every private key after placing it on the coin there is no way of verifying that they did that. DIY often does not look as good as a maker placing it on there but it is the only way you can place funds on a collectible and then preloaded coins like 25btc coins could not be made and instead would just be a generic coin which can be loaded but does not have to be.

Agreed - let makers do keys if they want but also encourage to offer diy as well - there will always be a market for both - let the buyer decide instead of forcing them one way or another.
1899  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [PRE-SALE] SHADOWS AND HUES, MX12, BITCOIN ART on: January 15, 2023, 06:00:48 AM
love it! glws - I need more btc to buy more art!
1900  Economy / Collectibles / Re: My Cold Keys Just Got Swiped! All Halving Sets!! on: January 15, 2023, 05:13:43 AM

I agree but he claimed the artwork wasn't ready yet to print at that time, so that's why those were stored until later which makes a bit of sense actually since the history series he would just print, shread and then spend day's sticking holos etc..

yes ok then shred once done - again no need to save once project is done.

Wrong Mopar. You can’t steal all the bitcoin if you destroy the private keys.

I never want to steal though. so not wrong Smiley

Interesting because that’s exactly what the last guy that stole said.

well believe me or not, I wouldnt do it.
