Example of the testing report.

1. At 14:34 local time sign in worked as usual.

2. I have used the system before so unable to test the intuitiveness of the UI.

3. Again I am blind to it since have designed it. All data displayed seems to be correct; itemcount in GoogleDB=403 here 401, likely reason recent changes in the game.

4. Data seems to be correct.

5. I did not do testing of this module now, because I had already accepted it for production.

5.1./5.2./5.3. These will be added and improved later, but for now the rendering is correct.

6. Data seems to be correct.

7. I was not able to arrange a chat partner, so could not test this module. (Others: please DO arrange a chat partner!) My intention is to be able to use this as the main ingame chat, so that only a few buildings would be opened in the beginning, for different purposes.

8. Unexpected:
Quote
Fatal error: Call to undefined method CryptoKingdom\ItemOwnershipModel::countItemsByItemID() in /var/www/html/releases/20150906225612/app/controllers/MarketController.php on line 31
made testing not possible.

9.-11. Testing this module could not be done due to fatal error above.

Testing ended 14:46 local.
1882  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom Ultima Version Development Thread on: September 07, 2015, 10:52:30 AM
Items I found with potential issues:

  • I had a username of noms supplied to me. The login field asked for email, which was a bit confusing. Should be labeled "email OR username" so people know that they can use either their email address or supplied username.
  • There should be an option to have a global chat (unless the building chat is actually global anyhow? wasn't sure about this)
  • Land listing is confusing. There should be a link in menu to see all land, not just default to 1-C

Can you please mention what did you test (each point) and answer the questions. Freetext is not very useful to us at this point: what we need is rigorous testing of the methods in command line etc. "boring" stuff.

Hi all!

Now is the time for hopefully final testing of the V3.9U before it goes live, including data transmission from GoogleDB to Ultima platform!

So please enroll for the testing by asking the username+passwd from me by PM here or in IRC Smiley

Fill in all the points that you tested and post your testing report to this thread. Note that there is no benefit for vague and incomplete testing reports so be very specific and imitate the style of the best of the previous ones.

Testing directions

1. Go to cryptokingdom.me and sign in with the username+password provided. Does it happen, does it happen intuitively, what else?

2. Try to "get hold" of the system. Is navigation working, the scope of the game easy to grasp, what else?

3. My Character. Is the data correct (except built, age now, stone)? Is there data you feel is needless, or that should be there?

4. My Items. Is the data correct? How should the layout be improved?

5. Town Map / town view / chapelry view. Is the navigation logical? Can you get to all the views? Is the data correct? Are there wrong coordinates in lots, causing funny renderings?

5.1./5.2./5.3. Lot Usage / Building Density /Lot Division views in chapelry view. Work as intended?

6. Lot view (by clicking on the lot in the chapelry view). Is data correct and works fine?

7. Chat in Lot view. (Arrange testing with someone else to get the realtime chat.) How is the practical chatting? Issues? Are you ready to start using this as the main game chat? Why(/not)?

8. Agora Marketplace. Does the items listing work? How could it work even better? Is the data correct? Other wishes?

9. Item view (click on an item in Agora). How this view layout should be? Does all data display correctly? Is command line visible?

10. Command line. Test methodically all the commands below and tell the changes observed in the item ownerships etc. Command syntaxes are as follows:
BUY item_id max_quantity max_price
SELL item_id max_quantity min_price
GIVE item_id quantity recipient
CONSUME item_id quantity
TRANSFER item_id quantity giver recipient
CANCELASK item_id max_quantity min_price <-- not implemented when last checked
CANCELBID item_id max_quantity max_price <-- not implemented when last checked
MOVE source_borough_id destination_borough_id amount <-- for moving stone

11. Exchange matching engine. Using normal rules followed in all online exchanges, this should execute the trades when bids and asks match. Tell all the impressions whether it worked as it should, or not.

Greetings from the Department of Public Works and Building Safety!

We have several game-mechanical things we want to decree and/or remind:

1. There are several ways of gaining IC: the minor ones are culture and gaining certain level. The major one has been converting the aged luxuries from buildings, to items of that year. This has lead to rather artificial scenarios of stripping almost new furnishings and converting them to wine or silver.
It is over now! From now on, IC will only be gained in connection with an actual structural repair project, where the old fittings are carefully converted to items, to be used directly, or exchanged for silver or wine from the foreigners (no change to the mechanism). Mere looting of luxuries does not yield IC. Furthermore, as there already has been a moratorium of 1 year for successive building projects, this one has now been lengthened to 4 years. In practice, since we are living the year 1604 now, only the buildings that have been last repaired 1600 or earlier, are eligible for new changes. (Only 42% of all /BLDG currently are eligible.)

2. IC will be less used in the future, since domestic production gains hold. The main uses for IC stay:
- Wine
- Silver
- Personal unique items
- Hats
- Boots
- Swords and PPG
- Fabric items
- Works of Art
The following will be purchasable as imports with IC, or domestically using money (the producer may have needed IC; not all are currently being produced):
- remolding of gold and silver
- bronze and brass items
- wood items
- books
- horses
- carriages
These can only be purchased with money(monopoly):
- suits

Therefore, the IC will continue to be useful and valuable. New players' IC schedule will be to gain 10 personal IC quite soon after registration, and this will have to be used for items. Later they get 10 childhood IC, which may be personal items or valuables such as old wine or silver. Later promotions will not yield as much IC as the ancients got (30 upon Master and 50 upon Baron). Tba. It is also on the drawing board if culture would have a continuous dividend of IC (either accumulated culture, or newly generated culture).

3. RWWC price has been reduced to 350,000, and stone can be had in most boroughs (1, 2, 3, 5) for 150!

4. To ensure building safety, the Town building height tax will start effect when the roofline is higher than 15 m. The term is quite misleading though (should be called ceilingline..) because it is calculated from the ceiling of the highest common level. The reason it is such, is that building nice and durable roofs would not be prohibitively expensive. Flat roofs have not been very suitable for our post-quake climate conditions.

Jesus is a living person. And once you have met him, the notion that he "does not exist" is frankly, quite stupid.

Promotions in the Kingdom

Ultima script was used to determine commoner promotions, resulting in a great levelup in the lower levels especially! Smiley

The Councillor Sir noms, The Earl of White Cross, has been promoted Marquess. "Our new guidelines for Noble promotion put more weight on merit and less on the age of the character. At 49, the First Marquess of White Cross is the youngest Marquess ever promoted, slashing the previous record made by the Marquess of New Liberty 154 years ago (New Liberty was 69 upon promotion to Marquess). White Cross has during his industrious years in the Kingdom reached important positions in landowning, town council, church, restaurant business and now also monopoly industry."

Lord Hokusai has been created Earl (of XX). "Earl Hokusai's record in the service of the Kingdom and CryptoTown has been spotless. (There is a sockpuppet penalty a some time still, without which the Earl might have been promoted a while ago already."

Cryptoknight has been promoted Baron. "That's what happens if you are a cryptoknight!"

Jungherr Lloyd has been promoted Baron. "Jungherrn will be promoted Barons when they reach the age of minimum 21, and maximum 30, based on merit. If they are sons of high nobles, they might receive Earldom at the same or shortly later instant as well."

Dr. HS-S has been promoted Baron. "The Doctor has been a solid pillar of the society for some time now (and we need doctors)!"

AdamWhite, Leila Liekki and Haruki have been Knighted. "At about 200 years each, all of these longstanding characters have fought for the liberties of CryptoKingdom for a long time. We want to give them the recognition they deserve in the advanced days."

A gift of good Wine has been sent to each of the Noble ones promoted, (and to the Experts/Masters as well)! Smiley

In this exact procedure: each noble was to get 2 full crates, and each expert/master 1 full crate. If they did not have W1600M, this was given. If they did, W1603A was given instead, unless they also had this. Then W1600 was given, except if they had this as well. Finally, VOH pre-earthquake vodka was given: congratulations White Cross and HS-S for having yourselves such well stocked that we needed to resort to the extraordinary gifts! Wink

Happy Halving Day!

I'm sending our core devs and other pillars of the community some (private, unlinkable, untraceable) tokens of appreciation.

Hey this is correct! Gifting is the way to go!

If you want to gift in CryptoKingdom, remember that all the core devs + a few other active contributors are there. The character #39: Monero House is a foundation operated by the devteam through the elected executive chairman Sir smooth, HE The Marquess of Cryptoluna. ("luna" meaning "moon" for the illiteratus Wink )

CK thread.
1889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 06, 2015, 08:29:45 AM
Browsing around Poloniex I looked at XMR's most recent chart and it looks different to me. Using 5, 15, and 30 minute increment candlesticks looking at just a bit over a week of XMR trading, the majority of these candlesticks suddenly shifted red about 7:00 AM Poloniex time September 3rd to present. Before they were majority green or an even mix. I haven't seen this kind of thing on a chart before without major downswings in price, but price has remained relatively stable.

Is this a somewhat large seller playing it slow to keep his price on target?

It is a "paint-bot". A bot that buys a small amount (down to BTC0.00000000 worth of XMR) after every sale, to give the impression of buying pressure without necessarily having it.

Now the operator seemed to switch it on reverse, annulling every market buy on the charts with an infinitesimal market sell.

I can't tell for the others, but I would use the reverse bot when I was buying, and wanted to conceal my actions, so I am tempted to think of its appearance as a positive sign for the price.

Just like it was in WoW, I think the ingame exchange will be important

Yeah. It is funny such evolution. Right now we have 69 items categories with 1433 different items (+932 lots, likewise tradable). The limitation to efficient trading is afewfold:
- admins need to be contacted for the trade
- the trade must be registered manually
- the information about what is what, is not very much sorted
- the information about the cost is in a different place, a matrix with 1000+ columns.

When the Agora Market opens, all these are alleviated greatly. The new problem will be that of realism - early 1600s just did not have 24/7 frictionless exchanges. It is too easy to have one. Therefore the system will have a limited lifespan, but I also hope it will greatly contribute to the success meanwhile! Smiley

My take on the issue: I cannot see any validity in the speech of those who claim that the 1MB cap was designed to be forever. Actually, many a supposed friend of Bitcoin has shown himself to be a globalist agent during the debate, by claiming incredulities regarding the issue.

However, even if the current situation is untenable, it does not mean that every attempt to resolve it is the correct one that should be acted upon. Agents around this corner as well.  Roll Eyes

Soon:  NPC will start being useful and profitable again!

After a few years of very simplistic all-rental formula for buildings, they have now been almost-as-simplistically divided to "1" rental, "2" culture-producing and "3" science-producing buildings. There is also "4" for industrial/systemic building such as RWWC factory, which does not produce any of the 3 above, but windows.

When thinking how NPC would reassume their role yet by using a very simple script that does not burden the development in Ultima too much at this early stage, the following was conceived:

Each type of NPC has 1) a cost (salary) and 2) payouts in m, CUL and SCI (possibly IND as well soon). No realistic scripts that take into account the intricacies of organization, no interconnection with buildings and businesses, just a flat productivity per guy.

This makes top BUTlers again produce a lot of culture, and MGRs produce science, with COOKs earning money. This makes use of the Agora Market as well, since all the NPC are very easily tradable as items, and speculation will emerge as they are income-producing assets.

Recruiting new NPC will not be allowed for the time being - and since we have sworn that the current ones will be put to use, they will not die (at least not all Wink ) until the economic subgames open again! Also firing is not possible for now, making the situation interesting for MGR-1's and the like, who are not yet in the position to make profit, but are dependent on promotions. Will they command a positive price or not?  Cheesy
1893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom - 1991 Retro Virtual World(City) on: September 05, 2015, 12:43:04 PM
Year: 1604

National economics

- Gold received a 4,800 m dividend (0.64%).

- Rental pool payout rose to 9,400 m as about 1/3 of the rental pool was diverted to CUL/SCI production. Installing windows, adding lux, or making a new low-density habitation where nothing existed, all give nearly 10% annual yield now. This brisk demand is keeping the window price at 0.400.

- RWWC gave a 0.5 mil dividend. Soul is bidding 4.5 mil for the company shares now.

- 5,580 CUL was created, indicating about 5.5% annual cultural growth (CUL is indestructible). All personal residences now produce CUL to the owner. About 3,000 more CUL will be produced when NPC are back online.

- 3,280 SCI was created. There is both demand and room for even higher SCI production, but most of the facilities existing are suitable for living only, not for research. About 3,000 more SCI will be produced when NPC are back online.

- NF Tailors are producing 23 suits, which are also added to /ITEMS & /F_OWN. (Note: all items' ownership data, even the former "unique" items, is now in /F_OWN!)

- Next year, the Phaeton Carriage Works and the Fluffy Pony horses start function, depending on them of course!

- Health and buildings deteriorated already for this year.

- Please check the /WINE for different options when you buy wine. We have in total 16 drinks to hack our health now!
1894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Kingdom Ultima Version Development Thread on: September 05, 2015, 12:13:20 PM
We will tell when it is released. The (currently test) version is all the time in Cryptokingdom.me, and some of the features can be browsed without registration even during the development stage.

We have realized that the system is such compact that I am able to do the main testing alone for most of the time. Only when the Agora Market (bid/ask exchange system for all ingame items) is launched, will multiple testers be needed.

Many investments are rocks. When you let go, they will fall back to ground. Some are balloons. When you let go, it will rise to the atmosphere. It is not easy for many to distinguish between those two. Also the balloons are susceptible to pricks. Trade wisely.

Haha, this one was prophetic. (Note the age of the post, and that the chart depicted went only to March, 2013, when it was discussed.) And that pricks indeed have been the cause for the downfall.

Nope - not the only one, I am checking here at least twice daily in hopes of good news in regards to the release Smiley the package is there, and the wrapping is oh-so compelling...

Meanwhile, the life in the Kingdom is moving on at its normal pace:

Tavastia has decided to become a wine merchant!

Tavastia cannot help but recognize that he has received inside gamemaster info about the relative healthinesses of the wines. Since the taste is already public knowledge, he has now everything needed to bank on the wine! The others will also benefit of the knowledge by following his pricing on the wines Wink

(Since Ultima, everybody will quickly get the hunch about the healthiness because of the feedback it gives. This privileged situation won't last long...)

Buildings' repair% and luxury% have been reduced

The average repair is now 88% and luxury 55%.

RWWC has processed all WIA35's

RWWC had extra capacity in the Ancient windows processing facility, making it possible to process the remaining WIA35. The owners have been charged 2 mil/unit, and in turn they have received ancient windows worth 15 mil at the King's buying price(!)

If you want to sell your windows, King is buying unlimited quantity at a sweet price. Or you can install your windows to your houses. They rarely get destroyed (meaning you can take them away later if needed), and a house without windows is producing only half the income!

Rental pool shares formula updated

Update now takes into account the window ratio. The King and the Princes of OZ and Soul are all within 2% of rental pool shares after the change (King suffered a little because his own places had less windows than the ones designed for the Princes).

Remember

Please repair the collapsed buildings asap, because they might be removed from the registry prior to migration otherwise!

(left: Drama Palace main facade to the south, in Piazza di San Pietro 1-3; right: Drama Palace east facade towards the boulevard, the Gilded Goose, and a part of the Round Table House in its current stage of construction.)

Drama Palace has been completed

HSH, The Prince of OZ decided it is the time to build a new culture establishment in the prestigious San Pietro square.

The main hall is 9-15 m high, 14*30 m (420 sqm) and does not feature any center columns. This size of hall has never been made without them! Also the 5 m wide windows are unprecedented as far as we know. The front stairs in the South facade are 30 m wide and an excellent place to eat ice cream and have a view over the square. The main staircase leading to the main hall, is 3 m wide and of finest wood. The stairroom is lluminated by a 16 m high window to the west.

The building cost 1,830 mil + about 1,000 mil for the land. Especial cost factors were WIAL+WIAS windows, and 300% lux in the main areas. Architect fee was a modest 230 mil, emphasizing the supreme efficiency of the Royal Architects.

RWWC Corp is searching for more space for expansion

RWWC has a design for Windows factory which is 4x3 q. We already have 2 units in operation in 2-W but want to prepare for expansion of production. Space is needed for raw materials and logistics as well as production facilities.

We offer to buy the following lots at the prices listed:

2-W-V7: 230 mil
2-W-V8: 160 mil
2-W-V9: 260 mil
2-W-V10: 370 mil
2-S-S1: 780 mil

It is possible to get the payment as RWWC shares at 5 mil/share. RWWC dividend return at this valuation is ~11% the best in town!

The Royal Mint announces the sales of CR1603E gold coins

The year is about to change soon again. Because of the hassles with the building registration, the Mint officials have not had time to set up the operations yet! As we know, CR16xxA (1 CKG) coins will be minted from virgin gold to satisfy PoP, and CR16xxE (5 CKG) will be minted from any existing gold to anyone who wants to pay the minting fee.

But for 1603 this did not apply because Ultima was not released, and there was no time to offer unlimited minting against a fee.

Luckily, the eager minters were experimenting and did in fact smelt 100 g of gold and turned it to CR1603A and CR1603E coins! The CR1603A coins we decided to be a gift to active players, in the same approximate way that they would have got PoP coins (except that the gold in these coins is a gift from the King, not virgin gold).

CR1603E coins, of which 15 were made, will be disposed of as follows:
- 1 will be retained by the Mint, 1 by the King and 1 gifted to the CryptoMuseum operated by SirJacket, HH of NF.
- 12 will be auctioned in an express auction that lasts for 12 hours only from the timestamp, and King wm clients' bids are final and may not be raised:

qty@price(mil), bidder
1@28 Soul
1@14 Soul
1@13 Tavastia
1@10 Soul
1@10 King
1@9 Tavastia
1@8 Tavastia
1@7 Syksy
1@7 Soul
1@7 Tavastia
2@6 Tavastia
------------------------
12 units will be sold at 6 mil each

The coins are sold gold included, so the value of the gold per coin is about 4 mil.

To get some guidance as to their collector value - they will likely be the rarest non-ancient CRxxxxE coins, since the existing years, 1601 and 1602 are plentiful, and 1604-> are unrestricted. With a mintage of 15, there are only 3 more rare ancient CR coins, namely:

CRB1569E (20 were made, 10 were apparently stolen so the remaining 10 were mintmarked - and are also still kept to the Bank - to differentiate the stolen ones if they come to market)
CR1508E (60 were made but 12 exist, the exact history has been forgotten)
CR1430E (20 were made, only 14 exist due to accidental smelting).
