1881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Claiming BAT in brave browser on: January 14, 2022, 03:02:48 PM
How does one use Brave browser to earn BAT? I've been using the browser for months now and I was told to verify before claiming rewards I don't know how to go about this anyone ?

That's quite easy! The instructions are there in front of you whenever you open the Brave browser and not confusing at all. So not sure why you aren't able to do it.

Please watch this video as it shows the exact step to follow to start earning BAT token,

Hope this helps!
1882  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Turks pile into Bitcoin and Tether to escape plunging lira on: January 14, 2022, 01:54:06 PM
Lira is going down to drain but the not-so-surprising fact is that people are using cryptocurrency as a hedge against their fallen fiat currency.

If it had happened 15 years ago, the Turks would have purchased gold or foreign currencies as a hedge but now crypto has emerged as a major hedge instrument. Same things happened last year during the protest in Hongkong against China.

If that trend continues, it could support bitcoin to maintain the price point due to increased demand.
1883  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jack Dorsey: Block is ‘officially building an open bitcoin mining system’ on: January 14, 2022, 05:36:47 AM
It got me thinking what could be an "open bitcoin mining system"! Right now, it is extremely difficult for a newbie to start with bitcoin mining because we need specialized hardware that are extremely costly and also need a constant source of electricity. These kind of requirements actually creates a large barrier for a new person to enter into bitcoin mining. It seems Jack is trying to build a system where a person can start with bitcoin mining at a bare minimum cost.

This twitter thread will bring some clarity:

ASIC market definitely need some competition from a global brand name. Then only the prices will come down and logistics will be streamlined!
1884  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tonga Could Adopt Bitcoin (BTC) as Legal Tender By November, Says Former MP on: January 13, 2022, 05:23:56 PM
Tonga is a country of just 0.1 million and one out of five people lives below poverty line. I believe if Tonga adopts bitcoin as a legal tender, that might help them in long run! Because for smaller countries like Tonga, it is quite easier for them to implement bitcoin infrastructure for such a small population. Even though they have their own currency but its value is heavily dependent on other countries. So it's no harm for them to end that dependency, rather it will benefit them in long run.

Let's just hope it happens for sure!
1885  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crypto betting vs Fiat betting on: January 13, 2022, 03:13:57 PM
What is the best method to bet most especially if one is betting on football matches what is the best currency to bet with, using cryptocurrency to bet of using traditional paper money. Which one is more secured and fast for inline usage.

It is really an individual choice! Crypto and fiat both are good but if you don't want to reveal your identity, then you would want to use cryptocurrency and crypto based casino. But if you don't have any issues with your identity, you can go ahead with both.

Both of these options are fast and cheap. But if online gambling is illegal in your country, then you wouldn't have any other choice than cryptocurrency I believe!
1886  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Garry Kasparov(Interview): Crypto Means Freedom on: January 13, 2022, 12:04:53 PM
Garry Kasparov is a global name in Chess world. Everyone little familiar with Chess, knows his name. So when a person like him talks highly about bitcoin, it feels great. I know it wouldn't mean anything to the market but it's just an extra credential for bitcoin.

But I wonder why he is bullish about NFT though! Most probably he is planning to launch his own NFT collection in near future and trying to set up the launch pad.
1887  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin may not experience blood bath on: January 13, 2022, 04:17:49 AM

 The question is.
1 Could it be that the IMF Boss and team with the inclusion of Jack etc are into Bitcoin more than we think?

Quite possibly! Bitcoin has started a revolution in the digital finance market. It is possible that IMF has started taking notice of the market and realizing its potential.

Quote
2 Is Bitcoin mature as the IMF said? If not, what do you think Bitcoin needs before it will be mature to a complete stage?

It's in the process of maturing. But bitcoin is still at a very nascent stage when it comes to mainstream adoption. The first ever parameter to mature is to see a price stabilization. Bitcoin is extremely volatile which makes it a great speculative asset but a bad currency.

Quote
3 Is it possible that Bitcoin will experience another blood bath market?

I don't think so! Because people are more intelligent than you think. People are buying at every dip so the price is seeing a strong resistance at 40k. But if bitcoin brakes 40k level, then we might see a blood bath but that is unlikely to go to the similar level like 2017.
1888  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: 3-party payment processors need to report transactions more than $600 to the IRS on: January 12, 2022, 05:56:23 PM
Many other countries are following the same route to have control over their citizen's finances. In my country, if you purchase anything over 680 USD, you have to share your PAN card details to the seller and the seller needs to report it to the tax authority during their monthly tax filing. Don't get shocked to see "Monthly" here. In my country, a business has to file their taxes monthly. So it's an attempt from the government to control the finances and to find the person who are not paying required amount of taxes.

Cryptocurrency definitely provides an easy alternative here but only if you are getting such cryptos from an international supplier who doesn't report to your government. Or else, you need to have a mining operation of your own. Otherwise, all centralized crypto exchanges in my country, reports every single transactions to the government.

What's happening in US, is not out of the box. Rather all governments are taking such drastic steps and harassing common people!
1889  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Shihou Inu - Anime Metaverse on the ETH Network on: January 12, 2022, 04:46:27 PM
Lol! Now someday we will have a token called SHIT! The way this scamcoins are popping into the market and the way pancakeswap is supporting them, the entire ecosystem will collapse!

Bitcointalk as a community, needs to step up and must discourage such ongoing madness of meme tokens. Also this metaverse thing is actually fueling this madness in the name of NFT.

I sincerely hope this madness stops before making permanent damage to the crypto ecosystem.
1890  Local / India / Re: If BitCoin Was Legal In India on: January 12, 2022, 01:32:16 PM
If bitcoin was legal in India, the next Binance could have grown from India. If bitcoin was legal in India, we could have seen a multi billion dollar crypto ecosystem growing in India to the world. Many things could have been possible!

But what have we got!!!!

Zebpay left India to start business in Singapore. GST raids on all crypto exchanges of India, parliament debate whether bitcoin can be classified as ponzi or not!

Frankly, I never wanted the government to take notice on crypto market because government always ruined new businesses that are beyond their brain capacity!
1891  Economy / Gambling / Re: BC GAME and HASH GAME Scam wit full legit proof on: January 12, 2022, 06:40:39 AM
I have seen some scam acquisitions against BC game in the past. But if you check their reviews in various casino review websites, it's very good! Possibly they are bribing the review website owners to take down bad reviews.

I understand you have already reported their issues to their hosting provider and will soon be filing a lawsuit. So the proofs that you have must be classified at this moment. But once the lawsuits are filed, would you mind sharing at least a glimpse of it in this forum?
1892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Binance CEO Zhao Is Worth $96B Excluding Crypto Holdings on: January 11, 2022, 05:47:47 PM
Billionaires don't hold this amount of money in cash. As far as I know, Binance is not a market listed company and CZ is the sole owner of it. So this 96 billion is most probably his holding value of Binance and not the cash in his account.

Same goes for many other billionaires in the world. But it definitely feels good because this is the first time some crypto related business owner is featuring in the billionaire's list.
1893  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Establishment of an organization for victims of Bitcoin fraud. on: January 11, 2022, 01:41:44 PM
That's the risk of decentralized environment. Since there is no central authority, it becomes extremely difficult for the victim of crypto fraud to get back their money.

I understand you want to create a group of people who have faced crypto frauds and lost money in that process. But I am not sure how you will be able to help them. Can you please elaborate?

Are you a hacker or a lawyer?
1894  Economy / Economics / Re: Peter McCormack: 'Bitcoin has WON the war on money'. Do you agree? on: January 11, 2022, 06:18:09 AM
In a recent interview on the Futurati Podcast (https://youtu.be/TLHPzPbu5JU?t=848) Bitcoin heavyweight Peter McCormack claimed that Bitcoin would beat out fiat, gold, and other cryptocurrencies to become the money of the future.

Wondering what your thoughts are.

I don't think it is possible! In the world of 7 billion population, the capped supply of 21 million bitcoin is way too small regardless of the fact that bitcoin can be used fractions. Bitcoin's blockchain is not powerful enough to scale up towards the need of the world population. So I don't foresee that bitcoin will ever replace the traditional fiat currencies, unless the humankind have to face a nuke war where most institutions will be destroyed.

Bitcoin can beat some traditional investment in terms of ROI (return on investment). As the demand is skyrocketing, the prices are following the same pattern. But it wouldn't eradicate the need to a fiat currency whatsoever.
1895  Economy / Economics / Re: Is PayPal plannning to Launch of Own Stablecoin? on: January 10, 2022, 06:53:18 PM
Paypal will have to find alternative ways to stay afloat. Cryptocurrencies can entirely remove the need for having a remittance provider or payment processor. So sooner or later, they will have to find more ways to generate revenue. Their crypto adoption was one of their survival strategies.

So I won't be surprised if Paypal will actually launch a stablecoin. That will make their remittance business work like a dream at fraction of the current remittance cost. It's the same idea on what Ripple is based. So you can expect them to launch a stablecoin in near future.
1896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it always safe to connect your (metamask) wallet? on: January 10, 2022, 06:33:14 AM
There are so many websites these days that require you to connect. I've been connecting other wallets with low balances to test things out, but there doesn't seem to be much information around on what is good practice here.

My big balances are secured by Ledger so I suppose I don't need to worry about the coins simply being stolen without my approval, but what if I connect the Ledger to approve some coins and it steals other coins or uses the approval for something else. Is any of this possible?

When should I not connect to a website?

Metamask is quite safe I would say! No coin will be transferred unless you approve and sign the transaction. It can't be possible for a website to simply transct any amount or any token without your approval and sign. So you can be assured.

I am long time user of Metamask and a frequent user. I must admit that I haven't yet seen any such issues.
1897  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Everyone will receive a paper wallet in their post. Then what? on: January 09, 2022, 02:15:27 PM
I have one question for you:

What will happen to the bitcoin price when everyone starts receiving empty bitcoin paper wallets with everything they get on the post?

You can always put a paper wallet in my mailbox. I will welcome it.

- remotemass

How would receiving an empty paper wallet impact the bitcoin price? There's no way! Bitcoin price is usually determined by the market demand. So having millions of paper wallets wouldn't affect the price in any way!

Also I wonder what is the benefit of sending paper wallet to people? What's the use of it as it will pose a significant security challenge. No one with a little knowledge, wouldn't even use that!
1898  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A quick reminder from Eric Adams, mayor of the City of New York. on: January 07, 2022, 05:06:17 PM
So, there you go, as simple as that; these are buying days, folks! Let's all enjoy the bargain sale!

Absolutely! It's time to buy only! However, there are many people who have invested during ATH and now facing huge losses. It's a repetition of 2017. People who had purchased at 22k level was in shock when bitcoin price went back to 3k level. But now they are in huge profit.

It's all about time and also depends on how well you find opportunities knocking at your door.
1899  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sending Bitcoin through radio waves? on: January 07, 2022, 06:02:20 AM
I've read somewhere that it was possible to send Bitcoin through radio waves. If I'm not mistaken, someone was able to send Bitcoin through HAM radio. It sounds crazy, but if it really works, then governments will have a hard time trying to restrict people's access to Bitcoin. This will enable true censorship-resistance as we speak.

That said, I'm curious to know how this is done. If you happen to know how, I'd appreciate if you could share it here for the benefit of all. Thank you. Smiley

That's exactly why this method came up. In case government shuts down the internet, people will have another means to send bitcoin. Read it here,

https://news.bitcoin.com/no-internet-no-problem-how-to-send-bitcoin-by-amateur-radio/

This article is pretty detailed so take your time to read it. So if we suddenly wake up to a fascist regime where everything is controlled, radiowaves can get the job done!
1900  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I made a cartoon movie revealing the secret of Bitcoin and Darknet - Episode 7 on: January 06, 2022, 06:55:01 PM
Lol! Do you still believe that NSA created bitcoin? The episode is full of propaganda information such as bitcoin and darknet is created by US government! Even telegram?? Seriously, dude??? These are just conspiracy theories that people love to make up and quite far from the reality!

But I must say that your animation skill is quite good. If you have done it by your own without the help of anyone else, the effort needs to be applauded!
