so it means if i use ledger wallet to move them or restore them the chances are good that i can use all my bitcoins back again? or maybe -21 ? Probably i dont get it why i cant access to all my coins when i want to move them. By heart, I think the limit per transaction is 100 kByte. If you have received many hundreds of different transactions in the past, you can't fit them all in one outgoing transaction. Think of it as a big jar of coins: you can only deposit so many at a time. If this is the cause, you can just make 2 or more different transactions to transfer all coins.

i did alot of transactions in the past and always used " priority " You've probably hit the maximum transaction size with just a part of your inputs. You're going to want to consolidate your coins by sending them in several transactions to some of your own addresses.
If you're seriously holding more than 21 Bitcoin in a web wallet, it's highly recommended to get a much more secure storage method.

@mikeywith @ETFbitcoin: I made it a bit more "optional" and took something in between ETFbitcoin's first and second template: Make it easy for Merit Sources, use this format: TITLE Description : <optional, but either description or category must exist> Category : <optional> {guide, opinion, news, question, technical question, technical answer, share technical improvement/upgrade, etc.} Section : <optional>

Ahahaha. I'm not robovac, or suchmoron. The Merit Cycle Gang grows!! Poor cryptohunter is confused by all those duplicate avatars Wait, how did I get dragged into this, and how did I end up in LFC_Bitcoin's reputation thread To get back ontopic: who cares that ch is attacking you? It's a nono on the internet, he "attacked" (well, he tried) me too, I thought it was even funny, so I merited the thread. And that's all the attention he got from me. The moment I can add an ignore list to Maggiordomo, I won't ever see his topics again.

Within my more than two-year experience in the forum, I saw higher rank users pyramid quoted If they are mobile users, I can even understand the lack of interest. Selecting and deleting big chunks of text on a small touch screen is painstaking work. When people start using "patrol" they will understand the quoting pyramid problems. Can't we just ban accounts like this?

I received a check number to try out the service. After entering it on the website (in a Tor browser), the "Open" button wasn't clickable. After adding the cheque to the URL it worked, and I redeemed it. The same problem with "Split": I can't click the button. While playing around with the Top Up feature, it also doesn't update the amount the way I would expect it to be. I haven't tested it outside Tor yet. Some testing and comments: Change Details > Change: works fine. I got a new cheque number. When I click Withdraw, it shows my 5 USD is worth 305.15 Yandex RUB. When I change that to BTC, it shows me 305.15 BTC requires 2655325.35 USD. I suggest to adjust this to the BTC equivalent of 5 USD (the amount on the cheque) Typo: When Withdrawing, it says "~ displayed amount is an estimate and can differ at the deposit time". Typo: FAQ says a check has 32 digits, this should be 35. I like anonymous payment methods, but that also means there's no possible way to prove I paid someone if there's ever a dispute afterwards. Questions: What happens if I close my browser before I copy the cheque number? I tested it (after copying the cheque number), and the balance was gone. Is that intentional, and if so, that's quite risky. You allow very small withdrawals (0.02 m BTC with very low fee (0.01 m BTC). I like it, but it's basically Bitcoin dust that requires a higher transaction fee than it's worth to send. I've recently been playing around with a Lightning Network wallet, and tested some services that support it. Would it be possible to add LN support for small withdrawals or deposits? The service seems to mainly focus on RUB as a currency, most of the world doesn't use that. More crypto options, especially the ones that can be used with low fees, would be a good improvement.

do you think i should make a list of the users involved on the schema? I'm not sore about it because most of them get nuked, but if you say it, i will do it. There's no need to list nuked users. But the bump spammers get away with it, it might be worth keeping track of those.

3. I gambled a few Satoshis on https://lightning-roulette.com/ (my 100 Sat deposit never arrived at the site, I don't know why, but I'm pretty sure this isn't LNs fault)1. Whose Fault is it? a. yours b. lightning-roulette c. some random LN hub I think b, but can't be entirely sure. 2. Were the 100 Sat lost or did it return to your account balance? LN worked fine, the payment was sent and not returned. 3. Does LN not seem overly complicated to use , and In your personal opinion, would not a simple web wallet that handles the complexity be more useful to you. ie: a 3rd party making it easy. I used Eclair (Android), which works fine. The only thing difficult is when I want to receive a payment on my phone, and have to transfer the request to my PC. I did that by email because I couldn't use a QR-code. Working with only one device would solve that, but it's very easy to send funds the other way (from Eclair to a website on my PC). This won't be any different when using Bitcoin, but I don't usually try to receive Bitcoin from a website on my PC to my phone. 4. Who do you contact when there is a problem of lost LN funds? For 100 satoshi: nobody For larger amounts: the third you're dealing with. Basically the same as any other Bitcoin payment. If you mess up and lose your funds, you're on your own.

What could be the reasons that Theymos and Cobra may disappear? I read in this thread and in the contract about the word "Disappear (if)"
Dying is a natural thing - what else? Ask Satoshi Nakamoto My point is: anything can happen, the word "disappear" covers all possibilities without the need to make a list. Theymos has control over the server, Cobra has control over the domain if I'm not wrong. Who else has access to this domain and server in absence of Theymos and Cobra? Shouldn't be there a plan B at least for the natural cause? There is a plan B for the server: Should I disappear, Cyrus and/or others-I've-established will take over day-to-day operations and decision-making.

How would you feel about a "no self posts" rule? I don't really want to stop users from reporting their own good post, as I believe there are (some) users who's posts are really overlooked by Merit sources. I'm kind of disappointed this thread seems to have turned in to a sort of communal report your own posts type merit giveaway thread. When it started, it was people coming across genuinely good and non merited posts and linking them here because they had no merits of their own to give. Now it is largely people just linking their own posts, some of which are barely a few hours old and many of which have already been merited. I'll keep track (starting now): if there are no unmerited good posts left that get reported by other users because they're out of sMerit, that means this thread has served it's purpose. I'll give it a few weeks to see what happens.

~snip~ ~snip~ Please read the "unmerited" in the topic title. I count 17 merit transactions received for 3 posts made by the two of you. I haven't been very strict on posts that received some Merit already, but this is too much for the spirit of this topic.

Why is this advertised as if it's competition for Bitcoin? It sounds to me like Facebook is going to compete against Paypal. A centralized payment system doesn't need a blockchain and can't be anonymous.

Is it just me or has there been way less enthusiasm for Lightning in the past 1 or 2 months? Last week, I've installed a LN wallet (Eclair) for the first time. It didn't all go exactly as I expected, but all in all I'm quite impressed. I've made more transactions in a week just for testing LN than I've made in Bitcoin in months. I'm convinced low fees for small transactions is what Bitcoin needs to grow (be it with LN or some other system). Some of the unexpected things I ran into: 1. After funding the channel, I had no receiving capacity. I only got that after sending some funds. 2. The amount available to send was less than what I deposited. I first thought it was a reservation for fees to broadcast it to the blockchain, but later on the available amount went up a bit. It's still not as much as I've put into the channel. 3. I'm not sure how long the channel will stay open if I don't close it. Maybe forever, unless the other party closes it? 4. I have no idea how high fees will be to close the channel, maybe I can manually set them, maybe I can't. 5. Synchronizing Eclair takes quite a while after installation, but it also takes longer than for instance Electrum when I start it up. 6. Eclair somehow didn't use my full balance to open a LN channel, it left 600 satoshi in a change address. I'm pretty sure I chose to use the maximum amount, so it shouldn't have created Bitcoin dust. Good things: 1. I bought virtual flowers on https://niffler.co/bitcoin-graveyard/2. I painted a few pixels on https://satoshis.place/3. I gambled a few Satoshis on https://lightning-roulette.com/ (my 100 Sat deposit never arrived at the site, I don't know why, but I'm pretty sure this isn't LNs fault) 4. I bought some Doge coins at https://www.coinplaza.it/ (this seems to be a great way to increase or decrease funding or receiving capacity of a channel). For this transaction I paid the highest fee until now (10 satoshi). 5. Most of the transactions worth a few satoshi were sent without any fee. 6. Speed! It took a few seconds at most to send or receive funds.
I dislike the "fighting" that happens in many LN-threads though. Some people like it, some people don't, but for some reason the people who don't like it feel the need to keep posting about it, while the people who like it feel the need to keep responding to them. Let me put it this way: as a Bitcoin user, I don't care if small transactions are handled by a centralized organisation, in a second layer, or on-chain, as long as it's low-cost. The risk is low anyway (because of the small amounts involved). I trust several organisations with much larger amounts than I'll ever put into a Lightning channel. What I'd like to see, is a topic with just information about LN. I'm not experienced enough yet to make one myself, but I'd like to see one that's heavily self-moderated.

Can't I keep my own thread and do it my way? I have my own measures set for the users who come and ask for merits at that thread. I'm not the one who can tell you if your thread is acceptable. If a Mod keeps moving your thread to Off-topic, and you keep moving it back to Beginners & Help, you'll have to ask the Mod why he does it. I've seen more "merit earning threads" get moved to Off-topic, which makes them useless as Off-topic is filled with spammers. But some topics (including this one) were left alone.

IMO Beginners and Help is the proper place , not sure why @LoyceV decided to put his in reputation, but he must have a reason for that. I wasn't necessarily looking for Beginners, I was looking for experienced users who found good unmerited posts, while they're out of sMerit to give. This was meant to more or less prove those posts are quite rare, and with less than 1 reported post per day, I think this is confirmed.

It's just funny that they started with a good rate and now they suddenly become the lowest, I don't know their reason, but I don't like their action. They probably lowered the rate because Bitcoin went up in price. But the topic title still says "Earn up to 0.1 BTC weekly". Let's see how many posts that requires: Bitcoinaverage: 8778.91 USD per Bitcoin. Hero/Legendary: $3 per 10 posts > 0.00003417 BTC per post Animated avatar: +25% > 0.00004272 BTC per post Personal text: 0.0001 BTC weekly That means they pay up to 2338 posts per week for the highest paying ranks, and many times more for the lowest ranks.
