Replacing your DVD/optical-disc drive with bigger storage drive (with HDD caddy) also works. DVD/optical-disc drive barely used these days and you don't need to throw your older laptop storage drive. I did that already indeed

I was thinking it's almost sure to be a scam, but it would be fun to send an undercover newbie to entrap this shitbird. If you decide to do it I'll split the fee with you, that way you're not taking on the whole burden of the more-than-likely scam. Paying a scammer will only lead to more of them doing the same. ^^Are you able to scrape individual trust ratings? I can, but it's a pain to process the data. If it's just 450 pages, checking them manually is less work. In short, this scammer is, well, scamming. Good job! I've tagged him as a scammer.

@LoyceV @suchmoon do we have any scrap for this kind of thing? I have Complete overview of users on DT1 and DT2 and their ratings, it's "only" 450 accounts, including links to their Trust rating. So all it takes is 450 clicks and scroll down to see who left Trust today. Shall we devide the work load? I'll check DT2-members 1-100. Update: nothing there. However, he's probably bluffing, chances are he has no DT-account at all. I saw that post earlier and have been thinking about it for a few hours. I saw it too, but since it's self-moderated, I didn't bother posting there. I reported the post to be moved to Digital Goods (at best), the report is marked good but it's still in Services. I'm half tempted to create an alt and try buying it but it's most likely a scam anyway. I don't think he'll reveal the account without paying, so there's no use.

On a side note if Thule is really planning to file a libel case againt the DT members he would clearly lose, one critical aspect in libel cases is to show proof that the defamer (DT members who have tagged Thule) is telling a lie to damage his reputation here in the forum Wasn't Thule's reasoning that the forum shows him as scammer to visitors who aren't logged in? I don't really see why that would matter anyway, a random nickname on a random forum could literally by anybody. I suggest you contact Smartpaymint He's banned.

By now, LoyceV updated data in that topic on daily basis, so I think that my topic will be updated on daily basis too. I wasn't planning to continue the daily updates, some say I bump too many topics in Meta already. See LIST: Banned users for a daily updated (very) long list (no ranks or date specified). Among all ranks, Legendary and Hero Member are the two lowest groups (excluding Copper Member), with 20 and 41 Autobans for each rank, respectively. It's a large number that hit several highly established accounts, and I'm pretty sure the more lenient plagiarism bans were caused by the fact that so many appreciated members were banned too. Thanks for pointing out my typo, I don't know how else I could have gotten that number.

Man, I tell you a secret: You can enjoy the forum without getting merits. Talk for yourself, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms if I don't earn Merit for a day @RivAngE: you should fix your quotes. Posting something without checking it doesn't look good, especially when you're complaining about Merit.

Although it should work, it's not recommended because of the high chance of disconnecting the drive while using it.
As an alternative, replacing your laptop disk with a bigger disk drive (hdd or even ssd) might be a relatively cheap solution for the coming years.

I reported the thread around that time, as they were running a giveaway on the wrong board. After that, it was moved to Games and rounds. I can imagine that's what caused the lower exposure for the second round.

Another ChipMixer campaign participant lost his signature: A new wave of autoban? Another DT1 member got sig ban: - bill gatorBanned from displaying signatures until May 18, 2021, 08:56:42 PM
In a surprising turn of events, bill gator was unbanned and got his signature back, but his trust turned to -52

Satoshi Nakamoto surely he is a newbie satoshi: Founder and Sr. Member has 2016 Merit.DdmrDdmr beat me to it while real life was ringing the door In my opinion, merit points must also be earned for each year from the registration of an account. That's been discussed many times. Short summary: it won't happen. That being said, based on your post history, you're not the kind of spammer for which the Merit system was introduced, so have some Merit

Lol what' makes this different from other luck based games? Like you said you put up bots to compete with each other, doesn't it have to do with luck? It takes skill to create a good bot.

How about we give it some time, 90-120 days to let the temp bans expire and see how the sig-less copy-pasters perform. Will some of them disappear due to not getting paid? If they disappear and return after their signature ban expired, it means they didn't deserve the lenience in the first place. In which case the sig ban is good enough, as it gives good users a second chance and effectively bans the financially-motivated ones. Will they abuse the sig ban? Not sure how they would do that though. Some avatars pay more than most signatures There is no avatar ban yet, even banned users get to keep it. So what safeguard from a person looking to hurt someone from doing this to an old post
That's a different problem, yes. There's this: However, that is not nearly adequate. A moderator does not see what has changed. Admins can see all old versions of edited posts. A better way of framing someone would be to use an external site under your control, and fake the creation date of a post. This has happened.

I've deleted one more posted from yazher based on the same: Description : A translated topic made by Steamtyme, I already asked his permission. I've deleted this post. Reason: I think this is where I should draw a line: translations of good posts shouldn't be reported in this topic. I've added it to the rules: Rules NEW: Don't post topics that are just a translation of another topic or website.

anyhow if this idea is ever implemented, a dialog box for confirmation should pop-up, we don't want to add random members by mistake I think a simple checkbox will do: - trust
- ~distrust
- remove from Trust list

200 source smerits per month is surely NOT the top of the range.
Clearly there are a few members who have in the neighborhood of 400 to 500 smerits per month. You can look at the top merit senders to reasonably make such calculation about the top merit senders. Most generous recent merit senders: 1339: dbshck 1152: suchmoon 963: chimk 811: Vod 689: Foxpup 534: Flying Hellfish 527: bones261 461: LoyceV 459: DarkStar_ 311: frodocooper 293: qwk 285: TMAN 281: Halab 233: DdmrDdmr 229: ETFbitcoin 223: OgNasty 209: JayJuanGee

I'm waiting for the troll posse to start with the "why isn't bill gator not tagged for buying his account?" posts. say what?

You've obviously been unbanned already? Global Mods can hand out signature bans directly, instead of permanent bans.

there was nothing to gain from the post Account farming is what was gained from that post. It's the risk of buying an account: you buy it's entire history too. However, in 2015 account sales weren't frowned upon as they are now.
