1901  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] MemoryCoin | CPU Coin | Paid Dev Team | Limited Supply [MMC] on: February 23, 2014, 09:48:12 PM
Depending on your system you need to leave a thread or two free to be able to do other things while mining.
Try only 3 cores that is what I do on mine.
That way I can do everything and still mine fine.

How are people mining at full and being able to use their system?  I'm running an I-5 running at 4.4ghz with 12 gigs of ram.  OS windows 7 64 bit ultimate.  Running av-2 w/ 1024 per thread (that's the max supported anyway per thread).  If I run all 4 cores my system cannot be used for anything else.

Just PM him here for an order.  His website is under construction.

Hello, I can't seem to find the link to buy these on your website. Can someone point me to it?

Happy Birthday!
1904  Economy / Collectibles / Re: New MicroSoul coins for the masses 0.01 on: February 23, 2014, 05:58:37 PM
Some new coins and I cannot say on the other I have an NDA with him.

He also has alot of new things in the works that would be put at risk by messing with the inventory he has sold.

Cool! What new things?
1905  Economy / Collectibles / Re: New MicroSoul coins for the masses 0.01 on: February 23, 2014, 05:33:47 PM
I will also vouch for him.  He has been very professional and released his private info to prove his identity.
He also has alot of new things in the works that would be put at risk by messing with the inventory he has sold.  I have not seen any signs he would do anything like that.
Any physical coin there is that risk but many of these vendors like Gravitate do everything they can to alleviate concerns.

Dear Gravitate,

The idea of a physical coin is attractive, but how can we know that you cannot spend the bitcoins that you put on the physical coins that you sell us?  You are the original creator/owner of the original private key(s) that you engrave on the physical coins, so it is conceivable that you could store those keys will and later spend those bitcoins yourself (assuming not spent yet, but most will buy these to save and not spend the btc).

quote from buyphysicalbitcoins site:
"I also have covered the coded private key with a security sticker that states the Bitcoin address and your unique Physical Bitcoin Number which will be added to the register of all coins sold.  I work alone and once the code is engraved on the Physical Bitcoin is deleted. The only details I keep about the coin are the bitcoin address and the simple equation of how to read the private key on the back (this is in case you forget)."

Thank you,

Daddyhutch
1906  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: February 23, 2014, 05:03:32 PM
Is there any news on when an updated Windows GUI version will be ready?
I know MultiMiner support is coming but in the meantime I am using the windows GUI.

?
1908  Other / Off-topic / Re: Look what I found! :) on: February 23, 2014, 03:17:29 AM
This was the coin that got me into Bitcoin.
I got mine of all places in a giveaway contest for a laptop.  The losers (which I was) got one of these.
It really was the catalyst to get me into mining and the community as a whole.  I even wrote about it in my article over on cryptocoinsnews.com
http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/2014/02/22/microsoul-physical-bitcoins-everyone
Now I even have one that has actual Bitcoin value to it.  The MicroSoul coin.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=426987.0

I also live very rural and I was in the local gun shop and the owner was saying he would was thinking about taking bitcoin and asked me what I thought of it just after christmas.
It was pretty cool and a place I never thought would embrace stuff like this.
1909  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Bi•Fury | 5 GH/s USB Miner [IN STOCK!] {NEW YEAR SALE !} on: February 23, 2014, 01:15:41 AM
What you should do is get a better hub as ckolivas said as they do need a steady full powered port.
The 2nd thing is to remove all the drivers and get rid of that cgminer it is old.
Re-install the correct drivers for BFGMiner.  Once it is all setup download MultiMiner and use that to run your miners.
It has an easy to use GUI and will help you out a ton.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=248173.0
Also a link to his website for MultiMiner with driver links and setup instructions.
I hope this helps you out.

I was thinking about new firmware. I tried put pins together and after plug it how it is in pdf guide but bi fury didnt open like some storage.. hmm

You have to keep the contacts closed until Windows recognizes it a a drive and you see it appear in explorer. The first time always take a bit longer...
I flashed it twice, but still same problem... :/

1910  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hacking a BFL Jalapeno to 32GH and beyond....(???) on: February 23, 2014, 12:28:53 AM
Dude congratulations on the consulting job.  Cool
I have been recommending you all over the place.

FET's shorted that does sound odd.  I wonder what failed to make that happen.
Keep us posted.

I have thought about the BE's, but they seem like odd chips, less documented than the BFL stuff and to be honest it might not be worth the cost of repair for 30-40gh. However I have been very busy this week with a separate consulting project, so it's not dull.

Also got in a broken jally that is weird. I think the FETs are shorted to hot, as the power on the 1 volt rail is all over the place. Will be working on it more this weekend, it's weird.

Very cool Logo.
I am looking forward to the beta test and to use it.
I am no good at trading this would help so much.
Thanks for the updates.
1912  Other / Archival / Re: Pictures of your mining rigs! on: February 22, 2014, 11:47:33 PM
I love all these rigs.  Definitely have lots of ideas on how to build one for myself to go with my Bitcoin ASIC's.

Thanks
1913  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Hacking a BFL Jalapeno to 32GH and beyond....(???) on: February 22, 2014, 10:51:05 PM
I bet he could do quite a bit if he got his hands on a couple.
He really did a great job on my Jalapeno.
I am going to have him do it to a 2nd one when I can save up for the chips.

I've lurked these forums for a while.  Mostly on Litecoin Talk.  But I wanted to say that this is probably the most interesting thread that I have read.

Continued success.  I wonder what you could do with a Block Erupter Cube  Cheesy
1914  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Trouble Setting Up Avalon Mini 60GH/s Rig on: February 22, 2014, 09:40:13 PM
This thread is long but there is some good information in it.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=140539.0
One thing you can look for and this is at your own risk.
In the control panel go into cgminer configuration.  In there is usually a "Chip Frequency" box.  It is most likely set to default.  You can carefully choose the next step up reboot and run for a few hours and see how it goes.  It should increase your hash rate.  If not or you get lots of errors you might not have it cooled properly or it may need a larger PSU.
If it works well after 2 to 3 hours you can try the next setting up and repeat the process.
Make sure you have it in an area that is nice an cool so it does not overheat.
Not all of them can overclock though so keep that in mind.

I used the reset switch and now I'm online hashing at 39-40GH/s. Can you recommend any good documentation on tweaking the Mini to get that hashrate up?
1915  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Litecoin Mining Parts | RISER CABLES | DUAL PSU | ASIC + GPU | FEBRUARY SALE!! on: February 22, 2014, 09:28:59 PM
Yup they are out.
There are several different models in the group buy section.  Some are sold out and some are still going and others are going to be in stock again in not too long.
I have a USB DualMiner.  It is a nice little unit.  Does 70 kh/s with no issues.  With a bit of overclocking I get well over 80 kh/s.
There are bigger 5 chip units as well.
I don't have one of them yet though as I am broke.  Undecided

I wasn't aware that there were Litecoin ASICs out already. Did I miss something?
1916  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: February 22, 2014, 09:21:02 PM
That is weird.  You might have to use the hardware reset button if it has one inside like some do.  That will get you back to default and you can go in.
If the IP address is showing in the router though you should still be able to get to it unless there is a firewall block on your computers end though.
I wish I could help more.

nope i have tried that, it seems like the page can only be accessed on the IP that is assigned to the lan connection.

No matter what i have done i cant get it to work right
1917  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Trouble Setting Up Avalon Mini 60GH/s Rig on: February 22, 2014, 09:17:45 PM
Try "password" also "admin" and "default".
They are usually what the manufacture passwords are.
I'm glad it helped you get there.  Once you get in enjoy it's fun.  Grin

Thank you ManeBjorn, I have successfully located the Avalon through the router and am at the login screen. The username is preloaded as root and the password I was provided doesn't work. Is there usually a default username password? I will check back with the seller to see if it was changed at all.
1918  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Avalon ASIC users thread on: February 22, 2014, 07:32:55 PM
It might be that it has a new IP Address.
Go into your router and check the clients list and once you find it type that into your browser to get to the login screen.
That should allow you back in with no issues.
I hope that helps you.

Hey is there any way to make an AVALON Mini respond to the Config page over Wifi connection???
I have it in another room and it is connected over wifi but it will only allow me to config it if i am connedted via lan, and Since this is being moved to another location in a few days i want to be able to remote access to this device ( API ) once it is in the new location ( all the way across town )
1919  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Does anyone still have their Jalapenos plugged in? on: February 22, 2014, 06:20:39 PM
If you have 45 of them definitely get ahold of lightfoot.  If you bump each one up to 20 gh/s or more you will have 900 gh/s!

I have 45 of them
1920  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Re: [Teaser!]The Wasp and Hive, Collecting Reservations For The Coming SWARM! on: February 22, 2014, 06:18:27 PM
I'm glad it is.
I am going to be ready to invest when yo are ready.
Thanks

@cannachris, looking forward to having you aboard!

@ManeBjorn, accessibility to Bitcoin mining for everyone is crucial to preserve Bitcoin's Decentralized Network, this is something very important to me on a personal level. I want keep Bitcoin mining as level a playing field as possible.
