Cool I am going to finally test on the OneString system.  I have it going on the other I mentioned in private.  I am just tweaking card settings now.  So far much better with sgminer than vert.  Vertminer does work without the odd bug now too though.

Does the current BFG DL that MM has have the OneString support built in or do I wait until tomorrow?

Tough to say - the build is from the same day those changes went in.

Here's one from just a couple days ago:

Hmm I kept thinking it did.  I have two systems that have always been in sycn.
I may have manually named them the same LOL
Does the current BFG DL that MM has have the OneString support built in or do I wait until tomorrow?

I found a bug.
Network miners are not getting the names from other instances of MM so you are ending up with multiples of them showing up in MobileMiner and RemoteMiner.

They never did. If you name them the same you won't get duplicates. There's no other way to prevent them from being submitted to MobileMiner.

Edit: You can also disable Network Device detection from within the advanced settings

I understand that.
I hope it does not burn us all though.
I think you are right though the pre-order paid up will leave one less thing to worry about and focus can move to the next endeavor.  Grin

In hand miners are always better than pre-orders.
By the time Alpha ships their miners will be competing with a flood of ZeusMiners that started shipping 2 days ago.
Zeus is very focused on it's OEM's as well.  Alpha will have to put out 1 gh/s units to make a dent when they ship.
It is crazy how fast scrypt mining is hitting and the manufacturers are getting it out the door.  They all learned from the SHA-256 ASIC miner influx.
The longer any of them take to ship the less use they will be as the smaller companies are focused on getting the units out now not some distant ship date they may or may not make.

Yes, but I think the ZeusMiners are ~20% less efficient and ~20% more expensive.  Alpha Technologies is also giving us 200MH/s in hosted mining power.  That shouldn't be taken lightly.

I am nervous about not paying for the remainder of our order while we can, but I'll roll the dice and see how it goes if we want to see how far this rally will run.

Mine shipped with an 1100 watt PSU.
Here is my review. http://www.cryptocoinsnews.com/news/bittech-1-ths-bitcoin-miner-review/2014/04/24
It has not been a bad buy so far for the person who purchased it and let me review it before he got it.

Thanks for the info.  I just don't get it as to why they seem to have been elusive/reluctant in posting a simple picture of the inside of the current version that is supposedly in stock and ready to ship in 24 hours.  This discussion would have been over a while ago had they posted a nicely framed picture showing the whole inside of the case without the fancy/weird shooting angle that excludes the PSU.

Are your units running at 1T?  If so, which image are you using?

Using the english version image from Lee's (LKETC.com) miners (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=545642.msg5957256#msg5957256).  closest I got to 1TH was around 975.  and that was after i ssh'd into the raspi and edited the /var/www/run.sh file to lower the clock on a couple of the boards with high hardware errors.  i really feel that if these had better cooling/thermal the 4-module units could achieve 1TH pretty consistently.

As far as improving cooling efficiency is concerned, I do have some thoughts which I intend to put into practice if ever I'm gonna end up getting them.  I would like to offer my ideas as suggestions.  But first, I'd appreciate it if you could provide me more information.

Do you have both the earlier (blue case) and the current (black case) versions?  If so:

1.  Is the blue one equipped with the 1000W PSU and the black ones with the 1300W PSUs or is it just a random thing?

2.  Can you please confirm that the RasPi location has been shifted closer into the "hot" exhaust airflow of the adjacent module in the current (black) version which is my observation
     based on the pictures above?

3.  Can you confirm if the current (black) version is equipped with 120mm x 120mm x 38mm fans (the above photo seems to show that it does).

It's ironic and a shame that I have to resort to extracting these information from you and not from Bit-Tech themselves.  Therefore, I apologize if this inquiry is an inconvenience to you.

The cutouts on the back (exhaust side) of the Bit-Tech miner are indeed small and restrictive compared to that of the Dragon miner which has very large cutouts.  However, the ports/connections on the Bit-Tech miner are all on the back side and nothing whatsoever on the front.  So, these are my thoughts to hopefully improve cooling efficiency which I already mentioned on another thread (Lee's I think):

1.  Employ V-Air (Vertical Airflow) configuration which is more efficient in dissipating hot air which naturally rises.

2.  Install inexpensive furniture rubber feet on the front of the case and let it stand on it so that the exhaust side is now on top.

3.  Reroute all cables/wires so they do not obstruct the airflow between the modules and the exhaust cutouts.

4.  Optionally, two or three spare 120mm fans can be mounted on top of the exhaust cutouts in a "pull" configuration to further aid in expelling hot air from the top side of the case.
Cutting out sections of the exhaust panel to allow the pull fans unrestricted airflow is also an option but this obviously affects the resale value of the device not to mention that
      it is more involved.

5.  Since the RasPi is now at the top side of the case in this configuration where hot air accumulates, it could be an issue.  The solution is to move the RasPi away from the closest
module towards the bottom and near the intake fans.  The Ethernet cable can then be threaded through the case cutouts where the RasPi ports used to be.

Should you decide to implement these mods, please let us know of the results.

Thank you.

I know escrow was offered through OgNasty initially.
When mentioned I thought that you were the new escrow.
Thanks for the update.

I don't handle escrow for what's listed in OP, have never spoken with OP or OP-pretender, and haven't publicly offered escrow service for a couple weeks. Fwiw.

I WANT A PIZZA ONE!!!!!!! Are they still for sale?

The PIZZA coins go on sale starting MAY 22, NATIONAL PIZZA DAY.
They are available for one month only.
Bitcoin Information got his early on account of the fact that it was his birthday, and it was a personal gift from myself.
He is the only one to have one early.

I'll post some pictures soon, and get the PIZZA PARTY STARTED.

I am confused what is the story on all of this?

You have free electricity or.. ?

Odd that you would post here TradeFortress...

Anyway, it seems we have received a payment from TradeFortress for BTCINVEST shares that were purchased on BitFunder.  A whopping 0.009951 BTC.

There is a copy cat scam skype account.
The guy tried to send me a virus.

Ali and Dave are aware of it and have posted the proper skype accounts in the OP.

There are a ton of scammers trying to leech off different vendors.
Several others have had issues as well recently with copy cat scammers.

These guys are scammers and if they are not their name has been hijacked by some and their skype accounts. my recent story with them:

said kluge had done his escrow, so contacted kluge, he never had any dealings with ali or bittech.

i asked him which city kluge was from he said illinois, buffalo grove, lie.
and his english was more broke than the banks! then i asked wheres david, their tech guy, he said hes around i said whens he back in germany i want to see him(hes not from germany i dont know where hes from) he said next week, but instead of sending it in his skype account he sent it in the fake bdk_kluge escrow account, lol, then deleted it straight away.

ill try to insert a screenshot pic.

1032  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardbit Bitcoin Wallet Review on: May 20, 2014, 08:18:09 PM
I have not found a way to import a key into the unit yet.
There should be a way to do it and I hope that Hardbit lets me know.  I asked about that.
Part of their replacement policy states they can reimport your wallet dat file at the factory.  I am thinking they will have it polished for end users to do as well.  I wonder if it will be when they release the windows software.

Thanks for posting OP. Couple of questions... you mentioned that it asks you to make a backup. Is that so that you can recreate the wallet if you lose or break it? Does this mean I could buy two or more and essentially make a duplicate so that I could ship one to my brother etc?
1033  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hardbit Bitcoin Wallet Review on: May 20, 2014, 12:23:43 PM
Those are good questions I can partially answer.
1- I could not find any antenna, sim area on the unit.
2- The software is very locked down.  I could not find any way for it to connect to via wireless or otherwise.  I also connected it to my lapot via USB and I was not able to do anything with it.  This does not mean that it cannot be done but I was not able to.  It did not show up as a storage device either.
3- It works without ever having to be connected to anything via any means other than power to charge the battery every now and then.  All the sync'ing was done with QR codes.  At no point does it need to be connected to anything.  In fact you don't even have to create a wallet backup if you do not want to.  I did because I am paranoid and wanted a backup.

I could not tell you about the chips as I did not tear it completely apart.  The software is so mission specific I did not get anywhere with trying to find out what it was.
I agree with the other person who posted that the company needs to at least give some more info on it's internals and OS.  It seems that the OS is single purpose driven to the point it does this one thing only.  I could find no other options or things in it so far.

As for my review being PR positive it was because I am happy with it so far and did not find any real negatives to turn me off to it yet.  That may change if something comes up and I will update you all immediately if it does.
This was not an item from the company to me to review either.
I purchased this because I wanted to try a solution now and not much else was shipping that I could get my hands on.  The Trezor is out but they are only fulfilling pre-orders so far.  BFL rarely ships anything.  The Pitbull did not get funding enough to produce any yet.  That left me with the Hardbit to try.
As soon as I can get a Trezor I am going to do a comparison.  I hope to know more about the Hardbit by then as well as I have sent an email asking about some of the very things you asked about.

Also thanks for your input I will remember these things so I can make my reviews better.  Smiley

ok the OP made maybe 3 small points, but can someone do a proper review, you know on that contains details, actual details.

EG
1. is it a re-coded phone that still has all the antenna and phone chips inside
2. has the android software had all phone related code removed, to ensre it cannot communicate wirelessly with a simple 'enable' button.
3. is it so secure that it never requires connecting to a PC, for any updates, syncing or any reason at all. to avoid trojans/exploits

in my eyes i could have wrote the exact same review without even handling, testing the hardbit. so please OP get into better detail about the chips in side, the OS, security risks, exploitability.

for instance just this small sentence alone " There is also a USB power cord and dongle to plug it in." already makes me question the exploitability of it. a proper review does not leave more unanswered questions then before the review is read.

please dont make reviews that are harmonic, pleasant, and PR positive for the company. instead be honest, detailed and explain the benefits AND risks.

1034  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Hardbit Bitcoin Wallet Review on: May 20, 2014, 10:15:33 AM
I got to review and Hardbit Bitcoin wallet.  It was a pleasant surprise as it works well and is fairly simple to use.
With so much vaporware out there and companies like BFL not shipping anything at all it was also nice to be able to get one and not have to wait forever for it to ship or worse not at all.
I wanted to share my review with you all.

Quote
Hardbit recently started shipping the Hardbit HB01 Bitcoin Hardware Wallet.  The HB01 is a low cost offline, secure, cold storage solution for your bitcoins that still allows you to use them when you want. The Trezor wallet is just starting to ship pre-orders and Butterfly Labs has still not shipped their hardware wallet (or anything at all for that matter). This has left a huge gap in the market for a stand-alone solution to offline storage that is not a paper wallet or a complicated DIY method.
Hardbit has stepped into that gap with the HB01.

My first impression of the HB01 is that it is rugged and small. It also looks like a mini cell phone with a touch screen and camera on the back.
Size:
2.5″ Touch Screen
48 x 88 x 12.8mm

It comes with an extra 900 mah lithium battery. There is also a USB power cord and dongle to plug it in.

It does not come with a paper manual. There is a manual on the unit itself. The PDF is available in english on the Hardbit site. It is helpful but upon turning on the HB01 it walks you through setup very simply. It requires an Android app which I found easy to use during setup. As it is not transacting Bitcoin it also helps keep your Bitcoin safe.  There is not an app for iPhone as we all know Apple is anti-anything-they-do-not-control.

The interface is clean and easy to use. The screen is easy to see and glare not an issue when scanning the QR code.  In the directions, they stress making a secure password and also to make a backup.  One of the ways that the HB01 works is to allow for a backup. This way if your HB01 is lost or broken you still have your Bitcoin. The ability gives a bit more of a sense of security when using the HB01.

It sounds like you had a great time and he is a great person.  That rules.
I know when I got to go to Inside Bitcoins Conference in NYC it was so nice to meet people I had only spoken to online.
I am glad it was good for you guys too.

How was the conference and meeting Joseph?
I hope it was great.
We need pics.
I wasn't at the conference, sadly. Meeting Joseph was, well, amazing. There is no other word to describe it, haha. He is a humble and kind person. He gifted me a Pizza Party Anniversary coin for my birthday and a neat little Bitcoin keychain. We talked about all kinds of stuff. BitID, the conference, alpaca socks and so many more things which I can't remember. It sucked that he had to leave at 8PM, but he had a plane to catch. Not much I could do about and it was an awesome evening after all and that is all that counts.

I don't have any picture, because I simply didn't think of taking one. I think Joseph has a few, so you should ask him about that Tongue

That is too bad.
It is such a wonderful coin.  I am going to have to get a few more to give out.  Family members really liked it and it did strike up and conversation about Bitcoin that was positive lately as well.

Just saw the Bitcoin Specie featured in the Day 3 Highlights video from the conference (at 0:30):
http://www.followthecoin.com/highlights-largest-bitcoin-conference-ever-bitcoin-2014
I just checked it out and it was a quick flash with nothing noticeable around it (like a logo or a text). Someone who doesn't know the specie project, won't recognize the coin, sadly.
1038  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MultiMiner Remoting & MobileMiner: Your rigs. Your coins. Your pools. Your way. on: May 20, 2014, 04:13:33 AM
I know the Blades are becoming scarce that is for sure.

Thanks for the link I will check it out.  That would allow me to have MM going on that system.

In all I will have 3 systems with it and a myriad of mining equipment. Everything from 333 mh/s Eruptors to Ant S1's through the network and etc.
Pretty cool.

Now all we need is OneString Miner support and I can run MM on all my systems.  Grin

You should be able to use the OSM with some work-around arguments until they fix their FW. You'll need BFGMiner compiled from the Git repo. Check the documentation here:

https://github.com/luke-jr/bfgminer/commit/12bbee661c8421bdaed6e38746f504fde934d7c9#diff-2aeeb1358e42d18b6f41b9def0210860R223

I may have to move the one string miners to a Pi then see if Blade support is any better on BFG then I will be all set now that I think about it.
For the Blades I have been using Sandors cpuminer as it will run them at 838 freq with no issues.  I cannot get them to do that on MM BFG for some reason.

Unfortunately I still haven't been able to get a hold of one of these. Tried a bunch of folks with no takers.

Excellent work Nate.
I just tweaked an XFX 280X that was stuck to 364 kh/s on Scrypt-N.  Much easier.

I wonder if it would be possible to use sgminer to mine scrypt-n instead. I tried to use it but Multiminer report an error saying that the argument "--scrypt-vert" is not recognized by sgminer. Which is normal because sgminer require "--algorithm nscrypt" to work with scrypt-n coins. Can you modify the argument in multiminer for it to work? It would be usefull since everywhere i look sgminer is better to mine scrypt-n anyway. On top of that sgminer is still being develloped and vertminer won't be anymore. The vertminer 0.5.3 doesn't work well at all and 0.5.2 barely work better. It could be a good idea to change the argument and put sgminer by default for scrypt-n instead of vertminer.

Thanks again for the suggestion and for filling me in on SGMiner's Scrypt-N compatibility.

Can you give this a shot?

https://www.dropbox.com/s/cpm4cecnx0g95n9/MultiMiner-3.0.0.zip

Now you can use Vertminer or SGMiner for Scrypt-N and the correct argument will be passed. In addition, SGMiner is now the default for Scrypt-N (though it won't affect you since you have already messed with the settings). Finally, the Daily Estimated $USD is now fixed for SGMiner miners.

One melted down my Thermaltake PSU I had it one.
Could be worse they will be a nice addition in the winter if we get the 40 below temps again.  Grin
