This is going to be huge if it gains ground in India. In these developing countries, micropayments are all the rage and bitcoins are the perfect means of performing transactions of this nature. I think a similar phenomenon is going to happen in Africa eventually where people are in a similar style of situation.
I think Bitcoin could actually take-off faster in the developing world. A ridiculous amount of people cannot or do not even have access to a bank account, so all they would need would be a paper wallet, USB stick or a mobile phone or access to an internet cafe to make or receive payments. Bitcoin could be very useful to these people

I admire her dedication. It takes some serious dedication to stamp a wallet onto oneself. The real question is will she manage to pay the price of the tattoo off with the donations that she receives? I am just going to ignore the whore comments as they seem to me just to be based from jealousy/ignorance.
I've got a donation she can receive *sniggers* ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) . Your last line is spot on. When men call women slags/whores etc it's just out of jealousy and envy at what they can't have.

When I tried to explain bitcoin to co-workers one of the biggest questions I heard was "what backs this." I was hard pressed to explain that same value that backs the USD was what backs bitcoin.
Just tell them the people back it and those that use it. What's backing the value of fiat paper money? People's faith in it. If people didn't have faith in its worth, notes and coins would be worthless bits of paper & metal. Sure they have central banks behind them, but in my opinion that's a bad thing as they can manipulate the price and print more money as they see fit.

when we talk about why gold is a store of value, imo it is not because of its intrinsic value, just simply because of the cost of gold mining.
The intrinsic value of gold is that it's a useful physical metal. You can make jewellery and even teeth with it, so that's what intrinsic value it has in the real world.

The digital currency Bitcoin is gaining popularity in India. There's now a campaign to make it part of the country's financial system. And a conference is being held in Bangalore to promote the advantages of virtual money. Al Jazeera's Faiz Jamil reports from Bangalore. ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi846.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fab22%2F1973mb1973%2Fd947865d4edc4d8a00f6aeb8a9634361_zps92609098.jpg&t=663&c=hNQQbhuaFy-P8w) The item shows a metal Bitcoin with a qr code on the back so funds can be sent to an online wallet via a coin - to help introduce Indians to Bitcoin A banker shows concern in that bitcoins can easily be transferred across borders. Decent video showing that Bitcoin is starting to gain some momentum over there Always nice to see enthusiasm for Bitcoin around the globe. I'm really looking forward to travelling around the world in the near future and being able to spend my coins. I'll always be on the look out for the Bitcoin logo.

You're glad when the price goes down. ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) I don't understand this logic. If you're a "true believer" then you will want the coin to succeed as a mainstream currency and infact stabilise with the hope of more merchants accepting it.

In my opinion the next few months are slowly turning into a make or break time for Cyrpto. I don't think it will break completely...But it may collapse before doing a "Phoenix" and coming back in another form. Just looking at the BTC price slowly but surely sliding to lower lows and not making new highs seems to confirm that many people are converting back fo Fiat. I strongly believe Crypto will remain in some form or another but these times are not for Widows and Orphans to be investing in it. Said that a little is ok...who knows we may have another bonanza! $1000-$2000 seems a good risk reward level...but it all depends on your personal circumstances...I haven't got a Falcon and a Camel! I am steadily mining investing and trying to stay upto date with the Bitcoin Backdrop....it ain't easy but we are the pioneers of an exciting age... Remember 99% haven't even heard of Bitcoin.....Try and ask your friends and family what it is...you will be amazed at how ignorant people are. Comments always welcome....constructive ones..
These ups and downs happen probably at least once a month and usually always recover within a few days or a week. The currency is still in its baby period really so instability is expected. I do hope at some point it can find stability somewhere so it can gain mainstream confidence and adoption, but at the moment there's still a lot of money to be made by us speculating on the price, so either way it's win-win.

It's incredible how a rumour or good/bad news can affect the price of currencies (and also stocks & shares etc). It's really quite alarming too, especially when the information can turn out to be false or inaccurate.

I don't see any future in altcoins, bitcoin is shown to be the universal currency? Why introduce more coins?
Competition is good, but of course too many can also saturate the market and devalue coins. is there are any good new coin, that i can mining well?
Depends what you define as 'good'? There's a shitload of alt coins to choose from: http://www.wheretomine.com/Thank you for that link, just bookmarked as I was looking for a good resource like this No problem. Coinmarketcap is also a good one as it lists them by value: http://coinmarketcap.com/

I can't see how JP Morgan will try get BTC with copyright law, and if they do try they'll fail miserably. They're probably just thinking about creating their own currency with a twist, but who knows, by Keiser's description the patent they've applied for seems pretty vague. Wasn't the patent already rejected a few weeks ago? And from what I read it was something that they've came first with 10 years ago. I don't know if it was rejected or not, but I think they were trying to renew a 10-year-old patent. seems they have been rejected : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=369119.0There are so many news about but without anything clear what when why. Good news. Glad somebody at the patent office has sense. I wonder if JP Morgan will still try create their own. I don't know what they were trying to achieve by filing a patent for something like this.

Unfortunately windows mobile is miles behind ios and android. So even if the hardware is decent the os pretty much ruins it...
What does it fall behind on? What are the advantages of an android OS? 1) The ability to install applications without having first to get the permission of some company 2) It is Free Libre Open Source Software i borrowed a windows mobile phone from a friend (i think it was the nokia 920 or something) and my god.. the o/s is so horrible. microsoft has no idea as to what a customer wants. it's like a 15 year old virgin having sex for the first time. i used it for 20 minutes and said to myself "who the fuck would want to use this?" What was wrong with it exactly? I've only seen videos of the OS but it looks ok to me. So are you saying Android is the way to go?

Wow, Do you guys expect that it will climb back up again within a few days? I'm a bit scared with my precious BTC in that wallet. Let's all pray that the US government doesn't shut down BTC, if they do, we're f*cked... But hey, at least they can trade them. They should all probably send them to their american friends to deposit the money and send it back. If I lived in china and had thousands of BTC I would probably do that...
It has climbed back up several times. The US government cannot shut BTC down, they can only regulate it, and that still isn't going to stop people from using it.

Hopefully 2k. But the end of 2014 is so far away, anything is possible. Even $0 is possible.
I think 2k is a conservative estimate. It'll probably go much higher if it gets some big merchants behind it.

Some of us are legit ebay sellers with long positive sales histories... And selling on ebay is our only job because we want to be self employed and not be someone elses b!&*#.
You can always sell on here or on localbitcoins, but obviously you're not going to get the inflated premium prices people pay on ebay. Yeah, ebay/paypal needs to get their act together and change their system, but until they do the risk of being scammed is the risk you take. I actually have to earn a living. This isn't a hobby for me, so selling to make a few bucks a week like most sellers do doesn't work. You hit the nail on the head local BITCOINS... I sell alt currencies, those don't sell to people who know how to buy and trade bitcoins for them now do they? Inflated? yeah theyre called ebay listing paypal payment and final value fees which amount to about 17.5% of my gross revs then theres the 5-9% I pay over World average from the guy I buy My BTC from. Then theres about a 0.5 - 1% pop for withdrawal and trading fees. What about the wild market fluctuations of late? How the hell do I rebuy coins to sell for... oh no... a profit? Evil a-hole I am... when I bought my first bitcoin for 800, the second for 1100, and the third for 1350? The 60% margin I enjoy when the market is stable for a couple days gets shot. Then the coins I sold for 50 cents each pop in a week to $3... Please get off your high horse about inflated prices... When in the desert you would pay anything for a glass of water. But I don't gouge people, I do make a fair return for the risk! I don't know where you got that I was on a high-horse. You obviously feel like you're doing something wrong here. I've seen Dogcoins and Infintecoins go for £100s for a literally worthless amount, so even with fees etc that's still a huge markup.

Hey, I want to start buying and selling some bitocoins, is Mt.Gox the way I should go?
Definitely not. Try bitstamp or localbitcoins instead. Haha, yeah, avoid Mt.Gox. what country are you in? Bittylicious is probably my favourite. Simple layout and easy and quick to get your coins. You need to prove you have a decent supply of coins if you want to sell on there though.

PrimeDice has one of the best faucets in my opinion. https://primedice.com/index.phpYou have to gamble it a few times before you can cash out, but you can win big if you stick at it.

Once the drone lands just throw a net on the damn thing and take it home. If Amazon comes looking for their drone just tell them that you had seen it flying in a north northeastern direction about an hour ago.
I'm sure they'll have GPS tracking devices in and at least one camera.
