By the way, how is kovri doing? Wasn't alpha software just recently released? We actually have a buildable functional kovri for the first time now as I understand it. Seems good. I confirm that. All the previous releases have the status "alpha-rc", i.e. "pre-alpha". Official alpha has been released just few weeks ago: https://github.com/monero-project/kovri/releases/tag/v0.1.0-alphaMonero/Kovri devs do have just one disadvantage: a very... VERY poor PR activity. They often do the great things in total silence. They probably think the github activity is completely sufficient source of a new information for the whole community. Bitcore does not have a masternodes, and as far as I know, the introduction of the masternodes is not planned by the developers. Maybe you are confused with another coin supported by these developers. These noobs only want airdrops and masternodes. You’re correct, no masterminded planned for BTX. I get what they are trying to do, but I am saying that we should not discount any "alternative" thinking if it can add some kind of value. I hate the gigabyte Block size part of their solution, because that is similar to beating a dead horse, but the compression of the data got my attention, because it can be beneficial if someone could run with that idea. In the end, nothing will be added without consensus, so we should not fear alternative ideas. So let me get this straight. They have an untenable idea - not by opinion, but on technical merit. And we should still listen to them because.... reasons? I don't understand that argument. "Give them a chance" only works when you have an idea that isn't a pile of garbage to begin with. these chums actually kind of sound smart up until the point they start talking about their new shitoken! lol |

Monero was really good at the start but after pirate sites for movies and all other things implementing mining on visitors computers i lose faith on monero.
I think monero will recover if they find a solution on this issue.
On the other hand monero is really good at privacy and i really love to use monero on special things.
LOL, why would you lose faith in Monero if people wanted to exploit other people? One of the Monero focuses is to have as much small miners as possible because this contributes to decentralization, so this web mining is welcome. Of course people should be aware of it... I would prefer to give some hashrate to a site instead of looking at annoying ads. botnets and exploits are great but who gets the profits? :\ i want hookers and blow like XMR devs have! |

A lot of people have seen their portfolios bleed and so have left Crypto altogether. If 90% of the people who didn't see last January have lost everything then there is no money to buy in ICOS simple. Many ICOS don't reach their soft cap in time so they tend to extend but confidence has been lost because many of the lambo get rich quick kids can't make an x 10 off the bat when the ICO hits an exchange. Now usually everyone dumps their tokens on the exchanges at a loss, so people right now just don't want to invest. Savvy investors who are loaded, however, will pick the cream of the crop and go in an ICO hardcore.

I remember in btc-e's trollbox people were saying $40k next year when the price was $1000 in 2014. After 4 years we reached $20k.
Now people are saying $100k in 2020. That means we'll see $50k in 2023 or 2022.

@smooth. How much bigger is Monero's blockchain versus Aeon's blockchain? I reckon Aeon might be in a better position for the longterm because it is more sustainable to run on dedicated hardware because of the smaller blocks.
Much, much bigger, I don't know the exact numbers but roughly a factor of 10 would be my guess. This is not only from the higher usage but from a enormous size of RingCT transactions until bulletproofs get activated. It was when RingCT was enabled that the blockchain size really exploded (the rate of growth instantly jumped from about 100 MB per month to 1+ GB per month).
