The scary part: the only substance I know of transported by rail that would cause mondo tanker suck like that is oleum, In a form also known as cryogenic sulfuric acid. Commonly used as a crude oil refining catalyst: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OleumI'm pretty sure they don't ship LN2 by rail either. Apparently, the collapse was a demonstration of a vacuum which could be caused during unloading if the relief valves were jammed.

Of course the chain won't stay saturated forever. Nobody "needs" Bitcoin now.
When it doesn't work properly people stop using it.
Hence the price.
You should reserve your hences and therefores for when price breaks 500 USD. At the moment price is doing exactly what would be expected after a major move up, and that has nothing to do with abandonment.

BTC-e’s official standpoint on this issue is as follows: Ethereum Classic in the current circumstances is a scam.
Who is BTC-e's CEO? Oh, that's right, nobody knows. (And to pre-empt the Satoshi argument I see coming, people did not invest their money in him but in transparent code.)

I didn't say it was approved.... we have been hearing about it waiting to be approved since 2014. So what exactly is new about this:
[...]
Sounds meaningless to me because we have been hearing this since 2014.
[...]
Still waiting..... and 2 years later we have another article that claims it's "still waiting" ...sorry if I'm not excited until we see a confirmation. Anticipation isn't confirmation
The SolidX ETF isn't the Winklevii's COIN ETF. The latter is awaiting comment on a rule change for listing on BATS. NASDAQ never filed for that rule change. There is now a timetable for acceptance, starting with a 45-day period for comment with several possible extensions. I guess it still could all fall apart and be rejected, but it's undeniably further ahead than previously.

vim is one thing. But EDLIN does not buy additional geek cred. Merely pity. And disdain. Pity and disdain. Well, mostly disdain.
lol, well put. Notepad++ is my go-to editor in Windows. I don't know if there's a geekier option, but it serves me well enough.

I hear Bitcoiners are good with computers. (good one tho. If file has a .CSV extension, it must be a harmless comma-separated file. Nothing to worry about at all, I'll just go ahead and load it right up ) Feel free to open the fucker up in notepad (or vim?) if you're schizo.

Pretty tricky, Sis! The old Excel VBScript exploit I'll take your word for it. As i said, "or Bitcoinwisdom recorded history, at least." Ha, you should tell me how to insert VBA code into a comma separated file. From the Reinhart-Rogoff school of Excel, huh?

You called it. Side note, Estimated Next Difficulty: 197,309,358,560 (-7.58%). The greatest hash rate/difficulty drop in recorded history (or Bitcoinwisdom recorded history, at least ) Difficulty dropped 18% in October 2011. 1,468,195 -> 1,203,462.

Bottoming in bitcoin hashrate have offered best buying opportunities in the past ... dyood but this is where big money gets made.
In the old days we called it "time to mine or time to buy?" ratio.
Huh, did you just say dyood? Like totally cowabunga man. @adamstgBit
Are you deleting posts related to the ETH fork and how it relates to any future BTC hard fork? ...
This has nothing to do with him. Any posts dedicated to alts that are reported will be deleted by mods.

They may be almost identical but they're completely different. One has the support of it's miners, investors, creators and developers, and the abandoned chain has only the support of a small part of speculators. Considering that at least 20% voted against the fork, that is a rash assertion.

As said earlier.. this is really early to say anything.
ETH still has 500% higher pricing, and a muuuuuch safer network.
Also, the hacker has like 13% or more of the total supply. Very much depending on him. Also, people are noticing now that they have a ton of ETC.. Very much depending on them.
There are 80ish million ETC out there somewhere... which is like 8000% more than the total ETC for sale on polo/bt.
This could be a 1 day adventure... or a long journey.
Some people are going to look REALLY REALLY fucking dumb after this. The question is ... who.
The DarkDAO held 3.6M ETH which is about 4.4% of supply, ETH's price is about 400% more, and total ETC is about 5,000% of the ask side on Polo, compared to 12,500% for ETH. Btw, volume is way more important than the orderbook - and there's been nearly 50M ETC traded today on Polo.

|
|
24h ETC volume on Poloniex breached 100k BTC (that's 60-something million USD).
Not sure what's the all-time record but this the highest I've ever seen.
Pretty sure it's the highest too. Not even the dump from the DAO caused this much volume.

From my perspective, none of this matters. This coin seems like a great candidate for a pump by scavenging off ETH fomo and offering "cheap" ETH to those who missed out on the bubble. Probably more dumpage yet to come, but to hastily dismiss this coin seems unwise.
i hope this pumps so hard...but i got a feeling it will be skilled traders trading on a permanent downtrend that will take all the btc and hold the etc at the same time...then once its real cheap it will go back to current price...rinse repeat until coin dies Yefi: 1 MrPumperitis: 0

@VladZamfir Ethc will need to hardfork to isolate itself from Eth. Its Dapps will be hampered by replay attacks. https://twitter.com/VladZamfir/status/757287474850848768& https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/4udq75/joint_statement_from_digix_and_maker_regarding/Joint Statement from Digix and Maker Regarding Hard Fork Wherever it makes sense to do so, the "true" version of any deployed contract related to the Digix or Maker contract systems should be interpreted as residing on Ethereum (ETH) "pro-fork" chain. Any system updates will proceed as planned on ETH. We are not responsible for any ETC stolen via replay attacks against our systems. Users are encouraged to be cautious of replays on ETC and to use a splitting contract such as the one published by Kraken to preserve any ETC they care about. From my perspective, none of this matters. This coin seems like a great candidate for a pump by scavenging off ETH fomo and offering "cheap" ETH to those who missed out on the bubble. Probably more dumpage yet to come, but to hastily dismiss this coin seems unwise.

i will start buying at 50,000 sats. Price is way too high.
You don't think that is a bit high, considering all EtHF holders doubled their tokens? Not really. 10 million have been traded in the first day alone. The market can absorb it. If I had to guess, I'd say 40-50k sats is the sweet spot. This thing is easily worth more than WAVES in marketcap.

|
|
I dunno how it works if your coins were in an exchange at the time of the forking. does that mean poloniex gives you the same amount of etc for free?
Yeah, they just popped up for free on your account. And a great day for trading. The waves on ETC were crazy. Really wish I'd gone big at 30K sat though.

Pretty much...but a little before anything comes out the ass, gut instinct kicks in!
I'd get your gut seen to by a gastroenterologist.

Not surprising, I would anticipate more and more dirty play in this. Apposing sides just going to go back and forth, personally I am staying out of both until things clear up.
The amicable Ethereum community that Gun Sirer et al like to brag about revealed for the hollow reverberation it actually is.

Is there anywhere you can go to see total hashrate, or is it just a case of adding up the two major pools for now?
