To my recollection, I believe he stated that he was banned under the pretense of being a "scammer", but in reality, he was just mocking other scammers and never stole a single satoshi from anyone.

To this day I believe that the vast majority of the "devs / major players" in NEM are just UtopianFuture sockpuppets. UtopianFuture created literally hundreds of sockpuppets to claim FREE stakes in NEM all while he was advocating NEM as the "fair / egalitarian crypto". He later started selling stakes after he announced all stakes would be free and claimed all of his free stakes. NEM was solely started as a way for him to get more NXT. One of the first things he did was create NEMstakes on NXT's exchange to sell all of the stakes he fraudulently claimed for NXT. Anybody who is involved in NEM and isn't a UtopianFuture sockpuppet is equally guilty because they know all about UtopianFuture's lies and deceit and continue to advocate NEM as the "New Economy Movement" just to make money for themselves. They value money over honesty and associate with a liar, cheater and thief if it means they can make money from it. They are an absolutely pathetic group of individuals. The joke of it is that anyone with more than two brain cells knows NEM will never gain any amount of adoption and will simply wither away into nothing. 1. Yes, there were a lot of socks, a ton actually. That is understandable, as people are greedy. Of course that would happen as people seen it had potential and they wanted as much NEM as they could get. Sure, no argument there.
At the same time the community did such a great job weeding them out that even the founder lost his leadership position and his socks as well.
That's what I love about decentralized systems.

He lost his position not because of the community's diligence, but because he's an idiot who logged in under one of his socks to post as UtopianFuture. It's a scam because NEM was/is advertised as "an egalitarian/fair crypto" to the unsuspecting masses all while UtopianFuture defrauded everyone to profit. The whole community found out about his deceit and kept up this ridiculous mantra. Right, and you determined the new capital flowing into the alts you listed, how exactly?  . With other words if you remove the noise of the trades the price would stay exactly the same per coin with that amount of new money. Unfortunately nxt has not been able to find the few $ needed per day as it lost about 7% against Bitcoin YTD (which found $ 883,536.00 USD past 24h). It is plain simple noone can take more out than what is put in. Some would say she ist dead jack. There is no inflation in NXT. Fee's baby, fee's you gotta pay them damn fees (fixed it for you) What are you implying? I can only assume you are taking the daily NXT tx fee total and multiplying it by the current price. Bernard Madoff's scam went on for decades before he was investigated and put behind bars. Duration of operation or an individual's profit does not mean something is not a scam. "I made money on it so it couldn't had been a scam" is something that is frequently parroted on here and not a correct conclusion. There's plenty of people who made profit off Madoff's scam and other scams or illegal activity.
NXT's distribution where the two Eastern European co-founders took the majority, Jeff Garzik's review on the code, numerous thefts in the ecosystem which were probably the result of backdoors and the plethora of ponzi schemes based on half-completed projects on the asset exchange. Verdict: It's a scam.
