This one already looks dead... "Error 522 Connection timed out" ...a quick one isn't it Smiley?
1962  Other / Politics & Society / Re: LiFi internet breakthrough: 224Gbps connection broadcast with an LED bulb on: February 24, 2015, 11:36:08 AM
Oh please, everyone know that's Virgin, they're capable of affecting ping for no reason.

Well, Virgin is quite far from beeing perfect but since I moved out of Virgin service areas and have to use BT I'm often dreaming about the good old days with Virgin Smiley. That was a real golden age, with amore or less working router and with a bit less stupid support Smiley.
1963  Other / Politics & Society / Re: LiFi internet breakthrough: 224Gbps connection broadcast with an LED bulb on: February 24, 2015, 10:19:15 AM
HURRAY! It's about time someone came up with a solution to slow ass signals for the internet! It would absolutely be fantastic to not be limited by where you live etc. if you wanted to get a fast internet connection, hell, this kind of thing could make travelling fun. I take it Li-fi is similar to fibre optic where it uses light instead of electricity to send data? I don't know too much about this kind of technology.

Don't be too excited. BT can surely slow down even light itself Smiley.
1964  Other / Politics & Society / Re: LiFi internet breakthrough: 224Gbps connection broadcast with an LED bulb on: February 23, 2015, 04:49:26 PM
I remember about a decade ago there had been much ado about transmitting data through existing electrical networks. What happened to that technology, who knows? Didn't hear anything about it ever since.

That technology is in use. You can buy LAN adapters, but ISPs are not using (or rarely using) this technology. I guess the telco companies made some agrements with the utility providers.
1965  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Science makes gold on: February 23, 2015, 03:52:21 PM
This is a good question indeed. But why think so narrowly? If you could "create" bacteria that lay out gold nuggets extracting gold from something that you could easily extract yourself at half the price, why not make the next step and breed a new strain that would bring you gold from sea water, for example?

As a first step it's nice, indeed. I was thinking on such life form, but bacterias used to spread across wast areas, so harvesting the extracted gold would be difficult. If that bacteria could live in symbiotic relationship with some sort of crab and would store the extracted gold in the crab's exoskeleton, then we just need to build a homing instint for moulting into the crab, and voila we could have a yearly gold harvest in a certain river (and an issue with the miner's workers union).
1966  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Science makes gold on: February 23, 2015, 03:04:52 PM
On the costs of production, right? So it doesn't actually matter if you extract gold from something (since there is enough gold as gold in nature) or convert something into gold, provided you gain enough profits to cover your expenses. Gold will be gold in any case.

Gold is gold indeed. But why tinkering with bacteria when you can achive the same results by using your hob in the kitchen for half the price Smiley?
1967  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Would you support the systemic genocide of everyone involved in the gmo food biz on: February 23, 2015, 02:58:14 PM
Human species could evolve (e.g., via natural or unnatural selection) that are compatible with GMO food crops.

Then just do that. Eat a lot of GMO stuff and evolve. I wish you great cuccess with your endeavour Smiley. Please keep us posted about the progress.
1968  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Science makes gold on: February 23, 2015, 02:04:00 PM
Is the gold you extract from shit somehow different from the gold you make from lead? Aes non olet.

That depends on the on the price.
1969  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Science makes gold on: February 23, 2015, 12:58:09 PM
I don't want to be a party popper but this isn't about "making gold". They didn't turned lead to gold or something like that. Actually they turned gold to gold for a lot of money Smiley.
I don't know exactly which kind of gold chloride they are referencing but both two are quite easy to turn back to elemental gold by heating it...  Roll Eyes
1970  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Norwegian Muslims form human shield to protect Jewish Synagogue on: February 23, 2015, 12:45:09 PM
They are trying to "bundle" islamophobia with antisemitism and victimize themselves. In a "If you dislike us then you probably dislike jews as well, so you are a fu**in' nazi." style.
1971  Economy / Gambling / Re: Btcforexteam on: February 23, 2015, 12:24:36 PM
If you can give us more proof that you have this forex account and you have good performance in forex trading, i think some users will join and invest to your trading. But since you are newbie here and don't have any reputation, i suggest you to build a trust before you offer this investment to another user. Maybe you can create a thread that show your performance and users here can see that

Agree this is a good idea. No offense, but we've seen too many honest looking guys here who turned out to be a scammer. So don't be surprised if we are trying to be careful.
1972  Economy / Gambling / Re: [POLL] So.. How's your Gambling journey so far? on: February 23, 2015, 09:40:10 AM
Overall I'm in the green... with about a few thousand satoshies "gains" Cheesy.

Can you prove that you really own that linked trader account?
1975  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ISIS to create own coin. How can we convince to use Bitcoin? on: February 21, 2015, 04:37:36 PM
Quote
ISIS is planning to mint its own currency in gold, silver and copper, the group said Thursday.
Its aim is to stay away from the "tyrant's financial system," ISIS said in a statement. It said it would issue another statement to explain the new currency's exchange rate, and where it can be found.

Sounds like they are printing their own kind of FIAT. More scamcoin. I think this is a great opportunity to show them Bitcoin and get some users from the Middle East. The anonymity and low fees are sure to be a turn on. How can we spread the word and help Bitcoin go TO THE MOON!?

OP doesn't seem to understand what fiat money is. The CNN article said they planning to mint gold, silver and copper coins, what would be a commodity currency or at least a commodity based representative currency but not a govt blahblah backet fiat money.
I don't want to mention his moral and ethics as that doesn't exist. He isn't even good for a speculator as BTC value would freefall as soon as ISIS would accept it. Shortly, he must be a retard or a troll.

1976  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Meanwhile in Ukraine... Revolution. on: February 20, 2015, 12:53:02 PM
As I see Porky recently started distancing himself from Yatsenuk and Turchinov, blaming them for the entire war, in the meantime the Right Sector and the Svoboda (these organiztions seems to in bed with the Yats like hardliners) blaming him for betraying the "war effort". The soldiers on the front blaming both two groups for incompetence and abandoning them as we heard from Semenchenko Smiley. In the background the Berlin-Paris camp seems to be more and more separated from the UK-US hawks. The next few months going to be interesting.
1977  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: February 19, 2015, 10:17:14 PM
Where is the minks rulez ??

They are in the pocket of the Pro-russian ...?? They are liears like their master Poutine ...

If they shell Mariupol ... no limit will be there that EU / US will ship weapons .. real weapons ...

And we will see the war propagate ... and i doubt that Poutine will send more troup ... but who will paid for this ? Citizen ... go ask everywhere in Ukraine ... they do not want anymore war ... because all know this is shit is driver by $$ mobster...

These real weapons have little value without properly trained crew. Proper training could take months, but in the case of more serious hardware that could be even a year. In addition the present Ukrainian military leadership seems to be sockpuppets of the political leadership instead of being independent in military matters. So I'm not sure if the better equipment would be much more effective. You can see where wishful thinking lead in Iloviansk and Debaltsevo.
1978  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: February 19, 2015, 10:02:03 PM
Why couldn't they let all those People express their own will, Russia, Uki, Indep, what ever, it would have cost less to everyone in lost opportunity...

Because of next day Ukraine would be the same size as one of the baltic states Smiley.
