1061  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Donetsk, Kharkov, Lugansk - way to Russia. on: September 07, 2015, 01:26:55 PM
Two years ago nobody thought Ukraine would be fighting for its freedom in a hybrid war instigated by Russia.

This is a new type of war: with soldiers without identifying marks, civilians as a shield, local terrorism and diversions, propaganda, cyber-terrorism and diplomatic double-dealings. Is Europe ready for such a type of conflict?

You think this war is somewhere far away?
Ukraine is in the center of Europe!

Wake up mate, Europe is doing the very same thing since centuries, so I think they are ready for that Smiley. Well, no offence but maybe Ukraine is in Europe, but it still considered as a remote shithole by most westerners. Actually most of my english colleagues doesn't understand why the "ruskies" keep brawling between each other... and to be honest they doesn't even seem to be interested.
1062  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Special trains for ‘rude’ Chinese on: September 04, 2015, 11:53:14 AM
Whatever reality might be, this does look a little bit racist.

No, it isn't. This is about adjusting a service for customer demands, and bridging cultural differences Smiley. Banning, or forcing them into separated wagons or even trains because of their Chinese origin that would be racist but that's not happening.
1063  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Migration crisis: Germany presses Europe into sharing refugees on: September 04, 2015, 10:04:06 AM
Well, those fuckin' retards in germany have made a nice big predicament for all of us. On one hand they are inviting asylum seekers, but on the other hand they are demanding that the Eastern European countries hold those migrants back. All of this happens without explaining anything about the immigration procedure for the migrants. In addition now they are also keep blackmailing Eastern Europe with suspending the rights to free movement, if they not willing to take a big chunk of the migrants... those countries are still struggling with the fallout of the 2007-2008 financial crisis, unemployment is still around 10%, so what the fuck they should do with a bunch of migrants?
1064  Other / Politics & Society / Re: OLDEST KORAN ‘DESTABILISES’ ISLAMIC HISTORY, SCIENTISTS SAY IT PRE-DATES MOHAMED on: September 03, 2015, 11:28:38 AM
Then the carbon dating data would point to a period after 1815, not before the birth of mohamed, when, I believe, few american indians would be using coal for their iron horses...

No, if it got contaminated with "old coal" like the smoke of black coal or anthracite (low C14) then it changes the C12/C14 ratio in favour of C12, therefore the carbon dating will show it older. If you burning "new coal" like logs, peat (C14 is still high) it will modify the ratio in favour of C14 so the dating will show it newer then it's real age.
1065  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocircuits bot | Johnny 5 Bot Now Live V2 RhinoHunter Soon on: September 02, 2015, 03:54:42 PM
It looks nice and dandy but some trustworthy trade logs (perhaps supported by some logs from the exchanges as well) would be more useful than some screenshots and videos. Sorry for being distrustful, but here I only believe in stuff what I can "touch" and what I can see with my own eyes Smiley.
1066  Other / Politics & Society / Re: OLDEST KORAN ‘DESTABILISES’ ISLAMIC HISTORY, SCIENTISTS SAY IT PRE-DATES MOHAMED on: September 02, 2015, 03:46:55 PM
Carefully with that radiocarbon dating. Carbon dating isn't really accurate. 40-50 years diversion can easily occur. This stuff wasn't found in a sealed tomb in some remote place, untouched for centuries, but in Birmingham where "old coal" been burnt for centuries in large quantities, so it might got contaminated.
1067  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CEO who raised workers’ minimum pay to $70K hits predictable problems on: September 01, 2015, 02:48:45 PM
Well, in communist countries education tends to be very cheap or free and can be of excellent quality, the problem is that there is no place for this people to work.

Actually that wasn't true. There were lots of highly skilled ans R&D jobs... just most people haven't heard too much about that as many of these companies were working on "sensitive" projects, or they simply did basic research instead of the more visible applied research. Actually applied research was the week point. Most scientists looked down on applied research as they seen it inferior to the basic research, something for engineers and sales people instead of something for "true scientists". So communist countries they spent lots of resources and time on researching stuff, without enjoying the results (except if that was something for the military).
1068  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Should we kick more people off welfare? on: September 01, 2015, 09:52:02 AM
There is a big problem with cutting these benefits. What will you do with these people? Most of them doesn't have any competitive or at least some marketable work experience and skills, this kind of people used to have low work-moral, so even if someone would willing to employ them, they would be a pain in the ass for their employers. Probably keeping them on benefits is the most efficient way to keep them silent and calm. Without benefits many of them would turn to a violent mob or criminals pretty soon.
1069  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CEO who raised workers’ minimum pay to $70K hits predictable problems on: August 24, 2015, 12:04:42 PM
The fact that Mr. Price himself is cutting corners in his personal life really has nothing to do with this story. It was his own choice to slash his salary and he is the only one responsible for his home budget. So be it. But he describes a number of other woes which were not only predictable, but probably unavoidable. First of all, some of his higher performing workers have quit. Why? Because people who were “just clocking in and out” with the “least skills” (as one former employee put it) got huge raises while the top talent got little or nothing. This is similar to a theme we’ve discussed here before, such as the backlash we can expect from people who have skilled labor jobs paying 15 or 16 dollars an hour when they suddenly see the guy running the fry machine getting the same thing.

Surprise, surprise Smiley. Actually this is where all communist experiments are ended until today, regardless of the size and budget of the experiment, and exactly because of the reasons above. Unluckily for him, apart from his own household and his brother there wasn't more "exploitative capitalist" and other "reactionary element" to cover the costs of his revolution.
1070  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ban ICOs on: August 24, 2015, 10:50:22 AM
I'm afraid banning ICOs not going to help. Idiots are surprisingly resourceful people and they will always find out elaborate ways to lose money. Scammers also always going to find even more elaborate ways to part the previously mentioned idiots from the previously mentioned money Smiley.
Sorry Kelsey, but you can't save these idiots from themselves.
1071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin xt could bitcoin become a global payment processors? on: August 21, 2015, 02:47:09 PM
bitcoin xt could bitcoin become a global payment processors?

That's not going to happen overnight Smiley. Bitcoin is still not mainstream and the majority of Average Joes still not aware of it or watching it with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. BTW after a fork with currently unpredictable consequences and most likely with some disturbances in that time, it will take time to restore confidence, and get back on track.
1072  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the perfect hedge for our bitcoins? on: August 21, 2015, 02:40:41 PM
Bitshares has pegged fiat currencies, even has gold, silver and nasdaq composite indices:

http://www.bitsharesblocks.com/assets/market

nuBits is also pegged to USD.

Well, that's true. We will see (hopefully not) how these coins are doing during a bitcoin collapse Smiley. But I guess a general distrust towards cryptoes will have some effect even on the most stable coins. Actually I'm really curious.
1073  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the perfect hedge for our bitcoins? on: August 21, 2015, 12:55:01 PM
The dollar has been strong and your argument hold some water however by being out of crypto totally you risk missing out on possible exponential growth when the crypto bear market is finally over.  If BTC starts rocketing upwards again the better ALTS will do so as well and likely gain significantly against BTC.  OTOH if the bear market is still in tact you could make significant gains in crypto terms by being in fiat.

Its been such a prolonged bear market and given the market behavior of the last few months I think we are going up from here.  And if that blocksize issue is resolved we could CCMF really fast.

That's why I said "At the bottom with USD I can buy back shitloads of all sorts of coins..."
I think there are two "problems" with crypto:
1. There are no crypto what would be "pegged" to some real life stuff what have some real importance. Without such independent economy practically everything pegged to bitcoin.
2. A very large percent of the people in crypto aren't here for tecnology or for some libertarian dreams, maybe for freedom from the banks, but strictly for financial gains, and their thinking is "pegged" to fiat.

Because of 1. if bitcoin goes down everything will go down (no exception) and because of 2. a lot of people going to panic sell as fast as they can therefore causing an even bigger trouble.
1074  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Chinese police arrest 15,000 for Internet crimes on: August 21, 2015, 12:19:22 PM
body can be jailed but spirit not, fish can not understand flying freedom of bird.

Probably you never seen a really tough jail, my naive and idealist friend Smiley. Thanks to God I've missed those places, but I know a few people who spent years in some or the tougher POW camps in Siberia. There the guards used to start with destroying the spirit and leaving nothing but the reality of flash, fear and hunger.
1075  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: All aboard the litecoin train! on: August 21, 2015, 12:01:52 PM
Bitcoin is falling to pieces by the end of the year the price will be under $100. Buy litecoin it is the true successor to bitcoin.

I have no doubt about that we are going to see some nice LTC pump soon, but as litecoin offers nothing better than bitcoin I don't think it will hold better than BTC in the case of a collapse. Fiat and some 2.0 coins seems to be better choices for escaping the coming storm (if we'll see any storm at all).
1076  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the perfect hedge for our bitcoins? on: August 21, 2015, 11:51:40 AM
If it's about hedging then I also vote for fiat (namely USD). A BTC collapse most likely will drag down all cryptoes to rock bottom. So USD is far from perfect (or even from good), but USD is still the most stable alternative. One more thing. At the bottom with USD I can buy back shitloads of all sorts of coins...

Damn! I never thought that I'll pump USD, but here we go Cheesy. I hope the core devs, Hearn and Gavin will rot in hell for this.

I don't want to look like someone who is inpatient... but actually I'm really inpatient Smiley. BTW where should I ask for a slack invitation? Defaced seems to be too busy to read his PMs. Maybe you guys have someone around who's not coding all the day and can send one.
1078  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What ever happened to BREAKOUTCOIN (BRO? Was it finally confirmed to be a scam? on: August 20, 2015, 03:54:21 PM
yeah cos that's what scammers usually do , develop software for 6 months plus, just so they wont feel bad....... Roll Eyes

The knowledge that breakoutcoin wasn't an intentional scam, but incompetence on customer care, and lack of communication skills, surely going to make easier to swallow losses for all of those who bought in Roll Eyes.
1079  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Political parties received over £50m in donations in first half of 2015 on: August 20, 2015, 02:36:54 PM
I believe distributing the "independent" advisor to the government positions is something what largely depends on the generosity of some people and corporations. This is not an open bribe, but a tit for tat approach, to make sure the advisory boards will give some "good" advice therefore the government can make the "right" decisions :/.
1080  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is ISIS Proof that Islam has Failed at Peace? on: August 20, 2015, 02:29:42 PM
Islam never been and never will be a peaceful religion. It was optimized for conquering and spreading by the sword since its birth. The only peaceful muslims are the muslims in minority, when they do not have the power to force their religion and customs on others. As soon as they became to the majority or a sufficiently big, coherent group in an atomized and weakened community (like most European nations today) they are going to show their real intentions.
