1981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]BitcoinPlus (XBC) / MANDATORY WALLET UPDATE / BIT-ADOPTION! on: June 13, 2014, 05:00:21 PM
I assume in this partnership with DCM there is no access to their ipo funds, correct? Probably wishful thinking...

The partnership makes sense for a couple of reasons. Besides similar goals, there are some shared team members too.

I see the coin has quietly been moving up on MP. #7 now, and it looks like within a week it'll be top 5. A little extra push, be it from paid votes or contests, and I think it could move up pretty quickly.

I mentioned it before, but the contest thing is how coins get voted up real fast. If any XBC whales want a bigger return on their investment, offer up a tiny portion of XBC per vote. There are a couple of free crypto giveaway forums where these things are run too, so it can be a form of marketing as well.

Seriously, all this information could be found by going back a few pages.  Those of us that have been here from the beginning, don't need to be reassured every 2 days.  I know you guys are working and you are all extremely active.  I do like that you (Wallensein) and Kreative are on here almost every day, and are here to answer questions from current investors and potential future ones.  Keep doing what you're doing and stay active like you have been, and you won't get any griping from me.

The problem is they have a seemingly ever-lasting troll here, so subjects like that will pop up more than usual. It really makes me think that all serious coin announcements should be moderated. There is simply too much fud and trolling in most threads nowadays ... it's almost like we have to be detectives in some threads, trying to figure out what is real and what is complete nonsense.

Oh wow. DCM has less then 2.5 btc daily volume and there are no buyers either. The coin is OFFICIALLY DEAD!

Yeah, it's a shame that volume never changes for cryptos, and if a coin ever has low volume, even once, it's officially dead forever. Oh well...

I see Darkcoin is at about 5.4 btc volume on bittrex today, so I guess it's officially dead too.

Why DCM/BTC Bittrex's market has been disabled ?

Not sure, but noticed some oddities before they disabled it -- such as new orders not showing up on the order list.

Annoyingly I see Bittrex won't let you cancel an order when a market has been disabled. I expect it's a minor thing, but rather not get some orders filled if it's a real problem.

I think those who have lost all their coins on ShareX - it dumpers.

And if given the chance again, they will do it again.

So, a new coin need to exchange for old coins. Then they will go only to those who truly appreciates the work of the developer and the community. IMHO.

Actually I expect a decent number of those who lost their coins on ShareX were people buying more coins, not dumping. If you dumped, you had no coins to lose anymore. I'd guess a lot of those who had coins there typically were buying more, or doing the 'sell high/buy back in low game,' for even more coins.

First of all, I don't think anybody ever mentioned 6 months. That is beyond our planning horizon right now.

I mentioned 3-6 months based off of this statement:

Hang tight, the next 3-6 months development wise are going to be worth every moment of uncertainty and doubt this community may have. Thank you everyone, Digital Commerce has just begun.

I do realize software development takes time. I just think you either need to release firm plans with details, or release something outside of your initial plans, sooner than that timeframe. This is a place where if a dev doesn't post for a couple of days, people wonder if he died. Months may be too long for some here to wait. You also need to add intrinsic value to the coin if you do wish them to wait.
1987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ENRG]Energycoin - A project to save energy| A solar company incorporated! on: June 11, 2014, 08:06:33 PM
I was wondering what happened when I checked this coin and saw it over 100 today... guess I missed it.

If people play their cards right, the coin at least could reach comm/itc high price levels. I see no reason for it not to, seeing as this coin does seem to have its act together more than either of those coins. If it wasn't for the initial distribution, 1000+ sats wouldn't be crazy.

But 250-500 sats would seem reasonable to me, if things go right. Of course that relies on people not dumping for tiny returns.

I may have missed it, but is there a voting campaign for polo? They do the vote thing now too. It may be more realistic than mintpal, at least at this time.
1988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCM] Digital Commerce*MULTIPOOL*100% POS First Focused Multi-vendor Devs on: June 11, 2014, 06:00:31 PM
Hmm... thought Bob was going away for a few days there. I think he's the only example of a paid team member working as an anti-marketing team. Of course he's an ex-member, but you know what I mean.

I am out of the coin (again), as my sell order got hit. I actually got out of it the other day, but a low order was hit and I was sort of sitting on them for a little while. I may buy in again, depending on what the price does. I do need to reevaluate my trading strategy, as I'm out with only like a 10-20% profit (and it wasn't a giant initial investment to begin with), but I need to take into account unforeseen and totally unexpected circumstances when calculating when to buy/sell. I would have never guessed the Bob situation to occur, for instance. So I guess it's a good learning experience.

A couple of things have bugged me a little bit about this coin, which I am hoping the devs can shed more light on. Based on answers, I may get back in.

First off, I asked specifically early on before the ipo was over as to what percentage of funds the devs would take for themselves. I was given the answer that they'd take nothing direct from the ipo for themselves, it'd all go towards the coin itself. Bob answered this, I believe, so one could question his honesty. But no other team members corrected him, and I will assume they had to discuss what they'd each get beforehand anyway.

After the ipo, they posted they'd each take 2 btc for their efforts. It's a fair amount, but it does almost feel like the rules are being made up as they go along. I'd rather they would have said up front how much each was getting, and not after I was told they'd not take any at all.

I asked about vendors, and Bob spouted out a long list, including gift cards and jewelry. I ask after he leaves, and am told the dev team doesn't know what info Bob provided earlier, and I'm given somewhat vague information. Too much info given is vague... marketplace is fine, but no real answer as to vendors, or how the team will provide an incentive for anyone to shop there. Will DCM people get a discount, why will anyone wish to use DCM over other coins, or just shopping at amazon directly? Those are the answers I'd like to see.

I also question the timetable the team is using. Saying great things are planned 3-6 months from now is all well and good, but that assumes the coin survives 3-6 months from now. Buy support is... well, let's just say not good. I am assuming the multipool is what is keeping the price where it is now, based on the order history. The team needs to add some intrinsic value to the coin now, not 3-6 months from now. People in cryptoland aren't that patient.

I don't mean for this to sound overly negative, and again, may get back in, but I'd like to see real answers, not so many vague statements about future plans.

1989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]FREEB - Mine at Official Multi-pool and get Bonus|175,000,000 destroyed on: June 11, 2014, 05:41:09 PM

Plans for the new coin have several major flaws:

1. How do those who lost significant amount of FREEB on ShareXcoin claim the new 'FREEB'?  Current proposal doesn't solve this problem
2. New FREEB is basically a PoW coin? Those without mining equipment will get diluted significantly over time after already taking a huge loss exchanging their FREEB for a proportional percentage of 2% of new FREEB
3. Changing algo's doesn't change...'lack of VISION'

I'm not sure if whatever plans the devs has is set in stone, but there are solutions to consider.

For the problem of those who lost freeb on sharex, the easiest solution may simply to be make a coin, and redo the initial distribution. So whatever you got the first time for free, you get again. That assumes the dev still has the initial distribution list.

There is of course the problem where some people bought extra freeb while it was on an exchange. For that, he could give a percentage as an extra bonus in the new coin for those who wish to swap them. Or if he felt like making 2 new coins, one is for the initial list, one for those who still have coin and want to swap.

And the last point you make is the most important one. Simply making a new X11/13 coin and calling it 'whatever coin' is sort of meaningless without a purpose for the coin. So whatever the dev decides, best to have more than a different algo.

yeah ur right...just so sick of some ppl on this forum, it has the highest concentration of assholes i have ever witnessed, lots of nice ppl here 2, but yeah...it's getting old

It does actually have the highest concentration I've run across too. I'm sure plenty of forums out there have more, but they aren't ones I've ever frequented. When I first started here, I wondered where was forum moderation, and if I had stumbled into a forum with some of the most immoral + immature people in the world.

I think part of the problem is that this forum has a high preponderance of young guys who became rich based on pure luck. Add in a bit of alpha male mentality + stockbroker personalities + flat out thieves. And then no forum moderation, and where trolling/fud can be profitable if done correctly, and we get what we have here. It's been described as a cesspool, and quite often it's correct in more ways than one.

you said smart ppl got out early but u were left with 40k, you couldn't sell, now you are asking if anyone wants to buy 100k, if you were as rich as you claim, you wouldn't even be worried about selling this, you would just stick them in a wallet and forget about them, i call bullshit on almost every single thing u have claimed, i think you have fuck all money, because ppl with shitloads of money, don't carry on like you do, you say u have all the cars u want..i bet there real nice since your filthy rich, if u have what u claim prove it, take a picture of you in front of your cars holding up a piece of paper with ur user name on it, and post it here for all to see, would take 2 min and prove me wrong, but you wont do it, because your full of shit, any one with as much cash as u don't rip off 20btc, i think you still live in your mothers basement, but you could take the photo, and shut me up..bet u don't

It's pointless to argue with a troll in such a manner. All you need to know about him is:
Quote
When you become rich you'll fuck with people because you can.. Its too fun not to.

Rich or poor, it doesn't matter. Bob is what his signature claims he is.

Better to talk about the coin than a person trolling. At least it may be a more interesting conversation that way.

Well, like you said "to each their own" I have traveled the world, put away for retirement, purchased property, I have all the cars I want and shopping bores me. My GF is a FT student so I have a fair share of time on my hands..

When you become rich you'll fuck with people because you can.. Its too fun not to...

Interesting mindset. I guess this is one case of truth in advertising... you have lived up to your signature.

The thing is we dont care.. if you bought your first btc and they were less then 15 bucks, you wouldn't care either. Now its all about the fun and the game!

Strange concept to me, but I guess to each their own. If I hit it big with btc early on and had so much money, I'd think I could find much better ways to spend my time than trolling on a forum. I mean, there must be many other fun things to do. Again, maybe that's just me.

That happens when no new features are introduced that create intrinsic value for the coin.

Marketing only worked out for DOGE so far.

Did I miss the marketing campaign for this coin? I do realize the coin has been out for months, and it's been marketed heavily, with that 22 btc campaign Bob arranged... but somehow I guess I missed it.
1995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCM] Digital Commerce*MULTIPOOL*100% POS First Focused Multi-vendor Devs on: June 10, 2014, 09:20:04 PM
WOW, ZERO action for dcm today.. the exchange is so quiet I see tumbleweeds blowing by.. To whoever is looking to buy 15K dcm @ 7002. Up your bid to 10K sat and you have a deal.

If anyone wants to purchase my 45K coins or the 60+K coins one of my investors are holding just pm me and we'll make it happen.

If you truly have that many coins you wish to sell, and one of your investors does as well, I assume you realize if you simply stay quiet and away from this thread, you may actually get the price you want, or better.
1996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCM] Digital Commerce*MULTIPOOL*100% POS First Focused Multi-vendor Devs on: June 10, 2014, 06:59:56 PM

Games: (Casino's/Dice) 500 DCM

Mobile App: 1000 DCM

I recall there was that casino site xbc was going to use (not sure if they still plan to or not), but maybe try to get the coin signed up with them?

And it may be easier to get mobile stuff done using the ipo money rather than DCM. I realize it probably still was ipo money when you purchased up the DCM, but I expect a lot of bounty people outside of here will want btc. Not sure as to what the going rates are, but expect it may be more than those offers.
1997  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Millionaire Coin (MIL) - Launched! on: June 10, 2014, 06:37:02 PM
I briefly considered the ipo after the dev changed it to a proportional distribution, but the numbers never added up as to getting into profit territory. So I don't hold any of this, never did, but I feel bad for those who did invest. A couple of suggestions, which probably have been suggested already:

Set up a buy wall at a certain level to just keep the bleeding to a min. Or at least to non-hemophiliac levels.

Use some of the ipo funds to create mobile wallets.

Use some of the ipo funds to include anonymity. Yep, it's a fad right now, but it's one of the carrots you can dangle.

Get the coin on Bittrex and every small exchange that will take the coin.

Buy MP and/or cryptsty votes, to at least get the coin into the top 10, or possibly top 5. You can then build momentum from there. And yep, expect massive dumping if the coin pumps on expectation of going on MP. But it buys some time... and then it's the dev's job to build value into the coin so the dump isn't catastrophic.

Or the dev can go the easy way out, cash out his ipo on himself, and say 'things are in the works', or stuff like he delivered all they promised. There are ways to at least raise the coin value somewhat, so perhaps the dev will at least consider these options.

1999  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BITTREX.COM] LitecoinPlus (XLC) / fast / green / bounties on: June 10, 2014, 02:49:02 AM

Okay, my apologies. I thought our progress was going a lot faster compared to XBC's first month and I have been posting AT LEAST weekly.

But what is the point of wasting BTC on getting onto another exchange when the first exchange we're on doesn't even have any activity? It seems like a complete waste to me. If there is no volume on one exchange, how would stretching it out to another exchange fix this?

I like the mobile wallet idea, I'll look into it. I believe raxe offers a service like this.

However, I complete agree 100% regarding branding. Litecoin is not moving, BitcoinPlus is dropping. These are the two coins which are associated with XLC, therefore it is going to be a prickle to get moving. XLC relies a lot on XBC. Psychologically, XLC can never be worth more than XBC and the XBC fire is fading. Although I have heard of some developments with XBC that I will try to coincide with XLC. Hopefully this results in a double pump or just generallly more activity.

The initial hype over the ipo sustained XBC for a while (and quite well). Then inactivity (or a broken wallet) nearly killed it. Duplicating low activity based on the idea XBC survived it, so others coins might, probably isn't the best idea.

As for other exchanges... well, since bittrex stated they were going to delist the coin initially, it may not be the worst idea to have the coin on at least one other decent exchange? I know they have stated they will list the coin another week, but if they drop it, what's your plan? A coin with no exchanges? Multiple exchanges also open up arbitrage, and possibly a bit of extra volume that way. So getting the coin on another exchange can in fact increase volume, especially if you go the re-branding route.

I do think XBC has a little life still in it, if for nothing else, based on its mintpal voting. But I wouldn't try to guess if XLC will bounce up based on XBC, as really, there is little actual connection.

If you are okay with using your ipo money for new things, I'd consider not only rebranding and exchanges, but a better website, mobile wallets, and finding a unique purpose for the coin. There really is only one thing the coin currently has going for it -- small number of coins that are currently unusually cheap. Add value to the brand, and then the initial investors may at least recoup what they paid. I don't see that happening with the xlc brand, nor by trying to link the coin to xbc or ltc.
2000  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DCM] Digital Commerce*MULTIPOOL*100% POS First Focused Multi-vendor Devs on: June 09, 2014, 11:47:29 PM
I'm reposting this because there was literally no reaction to this good piece of news; maybe people have missed it.

Basic design looks fine, nice and professional. Although I think there will be more interest once the site is running itself.

Can you talk about what merchants you have lined up? I asked this previously, but Bob was the one at the time who answered me, so am thinking perhaps there have been some changes. Are all of the planned merchants the same as before?

And does your team have ideas or plans on how to spur on sales in your marketplace vs. using another form of crypto somewhere else, or cash/credit cards on regular merchant sites? I guess I'm basically asking what will be the benefit to the consumer?

I think you are also planning an auction site too, or am I remembering wrong? Or will that all be incorporated into one big marketplace?
