Although none of the players scored a 50 in this match from Ireland but the good thing is that everyone contributed to reach close to 300 runs. Players who came down the innings like George Dockrell , Barry McCarthy and Craig Young , all contributed good 40+ runs and helped their team reach close to the target given by the England team. Remember the first ODI was abandoned by rain, this one England won. I hope to see another thrilling ODI between the two teams on 26 September at Bristol. A few good knocks from the tailenders and lower order doesn't take away the fact that Irish top and middle order is out of form. I don't even remember when was the last time their star batsmen like Andy Balbirnie and Paul Stirling scored runs. Even the younger players such as Harry Tector and Curtis Campher are also out of form. Lorcan Tucker was performing well in the CPL, but he failed during yesterday's match. All Ireland got was a decent total in the end, thanks to Barry McCarthy, Craig Young and Josh Little towards the end. Anyways, the lower and the middle order did play well. Can you tell on which TV channel you are viewing this series? I have been watching the Caribbean Premier League on Fancode App, which is covering the matches live in India. Apart from Fancode, Star Sports is telecasting the matches live on TV within India. I usually have access to all the sports channels as i use IPTV to watch the matches. So which channel of Star Sports is telecasting this series (Star Sports 1, 2, 3, 4 or Star Sports Hindi) ? Bangladesh bowled out for 52 after 17.5 overs. This is going to be another cakewalk for India. Nigar Sultana, with her 12 was the only batter to score in double digits. The Indian bowlers were exceptional. Pooja Vastrakar got 4 wickets, while Titas Sadhu was exceptional in her opening spell. In around 3 hours from now, the second semi-final will be played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
If Pakistan could win the 2nd Sermi-Final, then we will have another India Pakistan final. Oman is a good team and has the ability to chase down the 164 runs target and win the trophy of Gulf T20 Championship.
I thought that the United Arab Emirates was a better team as compared to the Oman. In the pool stage too, the United Arab Emirates topped with 8 points. But in this match, Oman remain dominant in the match. First, they did not let the UAE team run away with a lot of first innings runs. The 3 runs victory today has helped Bahrain to move to number 3rd position on points table. KSA is at 6th position as they have lost all the games. In the 14th match, Bahrain show up an excellent match against the United Arab Emirates. They set a target of 150 runs to UAE but unfortunately UAE did not win the match by just a few runs. Bahrain team batted for 150 runs in 20 overs and UAE scored 147 runs for the loss of 7 wickets for some of that score. They lost by just 3 runs. At the moment, Bahrain team has won 3 matches and collected a total of 6 points to occupy the third place in the points table. UAE's Nilansh Keswani scored 8 from 13 balls as UAE lost the match by a narrow margin, adding some extra runs to his batting would have easily won the match. UAE seems to be the strong team among the Gulf nation teams, and this time it had failed by a small margin getting close to the target. The last over of the match is interesting. UAE needs 11 runs to win and the players on the crease, Mohammed Faraazuddin and Akif Raja kept taking runs in singles and two and they were able to make 7 runs in the final over. Maybe a four could have leveled the match. Anyhow this is quite interesting and it is possible to see teams getting better in progress when more matches played. Well, the big question is whether the United Arab Emirates will be able to win the final today. Will they beat Oman at Doha in the final today and will take the Gulf Cricket T20I Championship title?
