21  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to claim BTG from an Electrum wallet? on: November 27, 2017, 01:21:45 AM
[-- snip --]
All wallets supporting BTG can be found in their official website.

Sure  Undecided.

Quote
The one from their official site was recently compromised (among other things wrong with BTG).
Which one? I imagine that you are talking about the web wallet that were storing private keys/seeds? Because that one wasn't created by anyone from the BTG dev team.

No, I'm talking about the one they have this giant warning for on their site:

Except things have changed since my one week hiatus from here, that's not a web wallet.

Quote
There is/was, you're just going to have to be willing to say "bye bye" to your BTC's during use.
Why?

See above.
22  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: How to claim BTG from an Electrum wallet? on: November 26, 2017, 06:48:27 PM
Before Bitcoin Gold Fork i had some 0.01 BTC in my Electrum wallet. I moved away that fund only couple of two weeks ago.

I tried everything i can to claim my BTG:
Most notably using Coinomi wallet, and using their instructions https://coinomi.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/29000016909-i-didn-t-have-btc-in-coinomi-at-the-time-of-the-snapshot-how-do-i-claim-btg-. I imported the seed of my Electrum wallet restoring it in Coinomi, after i had made it empty for obvious security reasons.
This would not have worked correctly... Electrum seeds ARE NOT BIP39 compatible, with generally means that Electrum seeds ARE NOT COMPATIBLE with any other known wallet...

Quote
Is there any way that i can claim this BTG? Cry
Yes, but it will need to be done manually... In your Electrum wallet, you need to go to your "Addresses" tab and look at ALL the addresses... receive and change... "used" and unused.

What you want to look for is all the addresses that you can find that has a non-zero "Tx" value... A non-zero "Tx" value means that the address MUST have received coins at some point:

Export the private key for EVERY address that has a non-zero TX value. Some of them may not have any BTG (as they might have been empty at the time of the fork), but if you export all of them, you're won't miss any coins Wink Don't forget to look through all your "change" as well as "receive" addresses... including both "used" and "unused".

Then you simply import all the private keys into the BTG wallet of your choice... and your BTG should show up Smiley

Do you need to or would you advise sending out all the BTC from an address before importing it into some BTG wallet? Also, which BTG wallet do you recommend/use? The one from their official site was recently compromised (among other things wrong with BTG).

Anyway to do this "cold" like with Electron Cash

Don't want to risk putting private key inside an Android phone (which are always full of exploits) or on an online computer with the main wallet

Rather create the transaction and sign it offline
Maybe you can do it by using Bitcoin Gold core? The problem with BTG is that there are almost no working wallet available.

There is/was, you're just going to have to be willing to say "bye bye" to your BTC's during use.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: ANN: ELIXIR (ELIX) Mobile Lending App Announced (ELIX On CoinExchange) on: November 26, 2017, 06:36:31 PM
And you dont think it could be a scam ? Because actually we know nothing about the team.

Nope.

Not in  the least.

I have been paying attention to the project since its infancy. I have seen the developers team grow, and I have seen the developers work to maintain forward momentum.

I look for action, not words, as said above, a team page means nothing in this ecosystem, what matters is the work.

That may be true, but for people to trust and put their money here they will need to know who they are investing with, publishing the team will make more people trust the project and be patient about the work they do, since this was an airdrop and not an ICO, the team could remain hidden, but it is a nice bonus if they show themselves.
Agree. Recently, other airdrop projects, such as EBTC and SDRN, have published their team. ELIX should probably do that as well.

eBTC? Really?

So far I've been involved with 3 coins that had unknown developers. The first 2 flopped, but I got out before it was a total loss.

Would you mind naming them?

Quote
The 3rd one (this one) has not been ideal for me. My original investment is still in limbo. I'd consider putting more money into Elix if dev would get back to some of my messages about TME.

If it has anything to do with Nova then I'm pretty sure your question has been answered by them several times over. Feel free to surprise us.

OP has been updated with the update provided by Fatanut

No it hasn't. Did you even bother to check? Are you trying to portray yourself as Mitchell's alt?

Er, I was asking about myself not you in the edit.

I don't remember my post count showing up in the sidebar before and I have the option to show it unchecked in my settings.
See my answer above. #1344

Thanks. So relieved to find out I wasn't imagining things and/or having really bad memory.

Ma誕m/Sir Lauda, my last post show that I have evidence given that I have cancelled one of the applications shows that I知 not using my account to cheat campaigns. I hope I can get my account back to neutral as I知 using it fairly and within the rules of the forum. I take this happenings as a reminder to be a much responsible member but hoping you give me space to breath because I知 literally drowning by emotions, not for myself only but to my family who depend in me. Thanks.

I hope you realize incessantly commenting about how you've changed every two days is the fastest way to show you've not changed at all.

Edit: Is it normal to see your number of posts below your activity even when the option is unchecked in settings? I've only been away for about a week but that feature looks so peculiar  Embarrassed

It's amazing how undervalued this project is. It really lacks attention from major investors?

That seems to be the case unfortunately. But that might be because there's not a lot of marketing and word spreading, especially from legitimate people.

Quote
Is there any plans for a marketing campaign once the app is released?

IIRC they said something about that in the AMA.

Fixed.

It is an unfortunate circumstance for me but if I may explain myself I would like to take this opportunity. This (jc89) is really my account. The reason why I was given a neg trust is because my account is being linked with other accounts which is actually my brother's (skorupi17, Cranidos, cyberChevan) and husband's (jb26) account. With regards to the three other accounts (Wesimon, Quietman, gracia0023) I am honestly clueless about those accounts. I am aware that our fault here is using the same btc address and we did it because for the time being, only one of us have btc wallet. Hoping for another chance. That's all I have to say and if sir Lauda will not revoke my neg trust then there's nothing I can do but to respect it and it will be a lesson learned. I have explained myself and that is all that matters to me.  I'm still grateful to have been in this forum.

Why one wallet? Why didn't each of you use a separate address from said wallet? And 3MioNsGWzGd4SK87XycqegXAC24Pi8qf6c and 3NVE2o6XRw13fhmMo1LcqJ1kKo5yCco4QU are not from the same wallet going by walletexplorer.

For me too. This guy should be deleted!
He give negative reputations no reason, he just abusing TRUST RATING SYSTEM!!!! DELETE ALL OF HIS TRUSTS THIS IS UNFAIR!

Trust isn't moderated so unless you get him to delete it, that's not gonna happen. And besides, you also have a negative rating from hilariousandco so good luck getting that one off.

Accounts connected: peter0425, TravelMug

peter0425 and TravelMug were both in the ChipMixer campaign. (removed this week.) They applied 3 days apart, in 2 different pay weeks. Their profiles are extremely similar, which raised my suspicions while doing post counting. Their post count is always extremely close to each other, as well as posts made in the week. The accounts were registered a week apart.

Week 23 of the campaign:

Week 22:

Week 21:

So now for the proof. It's fairly solid in my mind with the similarities, but is not concrete. However, I believe it is way too similar to be a coincidence, which is why I am posting this.

Peter's payment address for the campaign is 3DG5YqL9THf9ES2oa3sdvTjVENmjwLJ4yZ
TravelMug's payment address for the campaign is 1KrquYctrTyvvQVeWCBFhnnigmAAazhYT2

walletexplorer shows address 3DG5YqL9THf9ES2oa3sdvTjVENmjwLJ4yZ is part of Wallet [0000166027], which has over a million addresses. It is very likely to be an exchange. That address was posted many times by Peter. (archive of one instance)

TravelMug get's payments to 1KrquYctrTyvvQVeWCBFhnnigmAAazhYT2, which are forwarded to address 34YxzZLqpCQxkSeStpssYCs2uMXMkeJSzH that is part of the same exchange as 3DG5YqL... and has been posted by TravelMug many times on the forum. (archive of one instance)

Blocktrail's Link section for the address 34YxzZLqpCQxkSeStpssYCs2uMXMkeJSzH shows that it has been posted by TravelMug, but also lists one deleted instance where it was posted by peter0425, to apply for the VIBERATE signature campaign. It's very likely that TravelMug/peter messed up and used the wrong address, causing them to delete it so their accounts are not linked. This could be a glitch with blocktrail.com, but I have found it to be very reliable, and it is extremely unlikely that it happens to mess up, and pretend that an extremely similar account posted the address. (archive of links page)

Thoughts?

If they're alts then peter's account is truly the most interesting I've seen yet. Of the 20+ pages of his post history I've read he's never not used that address. Google, Yahoo and Bing cache also come up empty on that Viberate thread or any other one I checked when trying to link him with anybody else.

Gbb is private asset. Not sure if people want to trade that on exchange.

Yes they do. You too can buy and sell GBB on http://www.beeb-bot.com/
U talking about in wallet bot. I'm talking about exchange where you have public addresses. Gbb is private asset. There is no blockchain to track it. So therefore gbb is different than public assets/tokens or gbytes.

I agree with ByteFan here. Monero, Zcash, Zencash etc. all lay claim to the "best privacy crypto" title but unlike GBB they're all tradeable outside the confines of a wallet bot, on Bittrex no less. I'm not that knowledgeable on how it works so I have to ask: what is it, specifically, that makes having Monero on trex still private but not GBB?

Reading through answers like these and threads like this makes it appear like GBB isn't all that private and/or won't ever stop being a really niche privacy crypto.

Can I maybe get some sort of answer to this or at least a link to something I can read explaining it? This is the third time I'll be asking this with no answer.

What is the difference between blackbytes and byteballs?

The former is an anonymous, privacy crypto and the latter is not.

Quote
Is 1 GB of Byteball = 1 coin of Byteball?

ByteBall is the platform and GBYTE (GB) is the currency. 1 GB is, AFAIK, the standard unit like 1BTC and can be divided into fractions.

It would be really helpful if there was an ELI 5 somewhere with simple answers to questions like this about the basics.

Reposting what I posted on discord

@ElixDev & @ElixirDev2  Are you guys considering implementing pooled lending? I.E. when someone requests a loan of X amount, and multiple lenders lend them different amounts of money to make up the total they requested? I think this could be a way to make your product see significantly more usage. A kind of kickstarter. It is the type of idea that excites people and make them write articles about the "end of banking as we know it" etc, I reckon.

Can you imagine how utterly groundbreaking it would be if this got pulled off. Need a startup loan for your business? Open the ELIX app and request the loan. Perhaps, if possible, include a link to your business plan/website in the loan request. Potential lenders can then view this and offer to loan whatever they are willing, and once enough lenders have loaned you reach your total requested and you have your loan to startup your business! Who needs banks any more?!?

Seriously. Please could you implement this into your roadmap/project eventually. This will be massive.

We keep a separate repository that contains an early functional prototype of this idea. About a month ago we spent some time testing it with positive results. We plan to come back to it in the future after the app is up and running.

That is truly fantastic news! I wonder what other niceties you guys are working on that we don't know about. A Coinbase-esque functionality perhaps?

Thank you for the quick reply. Is there an altcoin signature campaign thread by chance? Or do you just have to find them individually? Thanks

There are no threads because we have too many campaigns and it wouldn't make sense to make one because the value of the payment remain unknown until the end of ICO (to know price of token) and also changes based on the number of participants. You can check all of them on the Bounties section (Altcoin board).

A few weeks ago I wanted to create a similar thread like this one for Altcoin campaigns but after seeing how numerous they were and stumbling on the Bounties section, I chose not to go ahead with it. It's nice to see my position reinforced by a Staff member.

@coiner.

Fair enough answers i think.

Different views/perspectives that is all.

I don't know why anyone would not like fair launch POW.

IMO it makes the bar of entry that much higher. Needing to download the entire blockchain (which may be several gigs), having an (almost) always on internet connection, a truly top of the line system/mining farm setup and worrying about how much kwh you're using effectively disqualifies POW for me as a means to get any crypto for the foreseeable future.

@coiner

Yes you are correct my analogy really only works okay for the first air drop. However that was the most damaging one it was worth 10 x the following airdrops. It was then compounded on top of being 10x larger already.

I could adapt and adapt the island one until it was almost a perfect analogy and if you and I were really on the island experiencing this then you would eventually concede it wasn't fair or that life is just a complete bitch. I mean fair is a matter of perspective unless grossly grossly unfair then usually agreement is reached.

That'd probably be the case especially if finding those cans before the captain returns wasn't happening fast enough.

Quote
Now as to the bitmain one..

I like to view every new alt release as a separate event.

Now bitmain wants a new alt. If that alt is popular (byteball is popular and will become more so) it will face wide competition for the new alt.

If bitmain wants say 1000x more of this alt that myself they will need to spend/risk 1000x (perhaps only 300x they get cheap electricity but mine is not expensive)

So I spend 100 bucks they spend 30000 bucks

The new alts turn to junk and becomes worthless.

I lose 100 bucks they lose 30000 bucks.
This is pretty much fair to me. Or as fair as life gets. I would have no issue with that.

Mhmm. And in that situation, 30K bucks to them is 100 bucks to you.

I'm not a fan of POW though, not one bit. The fact that ByteBall wasn't that was actually one more good thing about it for me.

Quote
The car race one.... hmmm. Yes if nothing depended on the race no reason to complain too much i guess. Up the anti though....

It is televised..like the running man (love that film ...the arnie one with buzzsaw and dynamo) and you and some other guy are running this race and your life now depends  upon it.

His father is rich and so naturally (and fairly according to you) the producer gives him the chiron. Your dad was not paying attention in school and you get an old heap of junk. Neither parent has to hand over hard cash so same for both i guess.

Track is the same track.. same distance.

People watching are going to be saying fair or unfair?

Now we are kind of pals and all I wouldn't even want to watch it Sad turns my stomach even to think about it.

OK, that's a tad extreme and pretty wild as an analogy to the ByteBall airdrop. Mine is closer since there's really nothing that significant depending on the airdrop. Certainly you're not gonna lose a job if the airdrop didn't exist/was postponed or at least complain ByteBall was responsible for said lost job.

They come up with new demands and rules just to avoid paying people for previous promotion. They ban participants without any meaningful reason.

Well you should stop promoting them if that's the case they are even pushing their participants to post in their ANN with a minimum of 5 posts.

If I'm not mistaken that's again the rules made by theymos, they are bringing their campaign into doom together with their participants.

Fatanut already kinda said this in its entirety. That aside, he's not promoting them, he's doing something far more interesting.
