21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Apart bounty and airdrop, any other means to earn money on bitcointalk? on: November 25, 2017, 12:59:49 PM
Couple of methods:
- Translating ann threads in foreign languages
- participating in twitter/blog/signature campaigns
- Doing faucets (however read the warnings first)
- Selling stuff or services on the marketplace
- Gambling

Just take a look at the marketplace, there should be more methods than i stated above. You can always learn how to analyze charts and do some daytrading on the exchanges.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Nav coin huge increase in volume right now! on: November 25, 2017, 12:51:44 PM
In my opinion it is very much undervalued.

Which valuation technique are you using to give that statement? imho people saying coin X is undervalued usually don't have anything hard to proof it. In stocks you can say something is undervalued if you for example calculate the discounted cash flow model, however this can't be done to cryptocurrency due to the lack of earnings/profits/dividend distributions. We can only value a coin based on the news value of the coin and therefore stating something is undervalued is a harsh statement.
23  Other / Meta / Re: Autban bot? on: November 25, 2017, 12:22:10 PM
I went through the modlog this morning and figured out there are autoban entries from time to time like
Quote
Autoban user: N/A in topic #0 by member #XXX
Does Bitcointalk.org utilize a bot to ban members automatically?

The only admin bot i know of, is this one https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1136003

Tbh if the bot works kudos. It will help the mods a lot of viewing threads and reports.
24  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Much Posts Do I Need Before I Can Upgrade on: November 25, 2017, 12:03:54 PM

Good Day ma'am/sir,

I just wanna ask a further explanation about the formula " min(time * 14, posts), As to my side. I don't actually get the point.
And about the being active in forum (staying logged in), I've been active for almost half day and my activity still haven't counted another points.

I also dare to ask for clarification.  "Staying logged in", does it mean, you need to stay login and be active in browsing/surfing the forum?

Thanks in advance.

Time in the formula isn't logged in time.

Time is the 14 day period in which you have posted.

If you post 14 times in the 14 day period your activity is going to be

time (1) x 14 = 14 (this number should be at least the numbers of your total post)

So for example in 1 14 day period you have posted 9 times.  The formula is

1 x 14 = 14 however total post = 9, so your activity will be 9.

TLDR: Activity depends on your post activity in every 14 day period.

26  Other / Meta / Re: I need help on: November 23, 2017, 09:02:15 PM
Hello,

a few time ago my bitcointalk.org account was hacked.

Now i see, that someone is writing with my account here.

My question is, is it possible to identify this guy in any way?

When yes, would it be (not only theoretically) possible to take control of his computer through a trojan, are here some people that could do this?

(Of course i would pay for that)

Read this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

No need for james bond methods...
27  Other / Meta / Re: Help!! Hacked account! Your thoughts on this. on: November 23, 2017, 08:20:51 PM
help me! login daha67 hacked account, wallet cryptonator.com there is no signature on the message, can I use the evidence to provide the translation for that address 1PmQKhEvratCxyVXTYBT6BwXYDVKK4qTip . Or what other option is there to prove that I?
I don't get the question as most of the people here don't.

However i found the post that is linked to that wallet:

1PmQKhEvratCxyVXTYBT6BwXYDVKK4qTip
thank you

I know I need!! If this is not! I can only do the translation, for example the moderator of a minimum amount of BTC and time, so we could say about the transfer and can sign the transaction.

Cryptonator can't sign messages. So maybe you can send bitcoin to another wallet, save the TX id (to proof your original wallet send bitcoins to the new wallet) and sign the message on the new wallet.

But tbh i can't guarantee you that this method will work.
28  Other / Meta / Re: Sending a message to a lot of users on: November 23, 2017, 07:18:13 PM
Hello,

How can I send a message to a lot of users at a time? Let's say 100 users for example
I need it to contact our Bounty participants

Regards,
eduinvestor

In regards to PM limit, Theymos ones answered with:

I've adjusted the limits to make spamming more difficult.

Activity   Min. seconds between post actions   Max PM recipients   PMs per hour
036035
1674530
3060560
6030560
1001210120
2001015120
300820120

It can be found here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.0

With your activity you can send every 30 second a PM to max 10 recipients with a cap of 60 pm's per hour, however if someone marks it as spam, you're done here.
29  Other / Meta / Re: bullshit posters on: November 22, 2017, 09:26:00 PM
But is there a specific person or a link where we can report these useless posts? I always thought the forum admins takes care of that?

The button is right there next to your post.

Mods can't check every post every minute and detect every spam that is released every second on this forum, so best for us to report and let them decide on the faith of someone's account.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think of my portfolio? on: November 22, 2017, 08:47:02 PM
You have too many coins for that amount.

Can't you do 100-100-100 (20%-20%-20%) in BTC,ETH, NEO.

And 200 USD (40%) spread into 5 coins 8% each. You can choose which 5 you like the most, by reading forums/whitepapers etc.

Are you referring to this:
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/21/tether-hack-attacker-reportedly-steals-30-million-of-digital-tokens.html

That deleted message from Tether says that all tokens are safe. But don't pin me on that.

Tether announcement:

Better wait for an announcement today/tommorow, but imho it would be the end of tether if they won't refund people their tokens.

33  Other / Meta / Re: how to upgrade my rank in btctalk faster so I can earn bitcoins? on: November 19, 2017, 03:27:37 PM
Oh and does that occur on a specific day if so of a week? Or is that adjusted at the start of a week?

For starters, can you please delete the 2nd post and just edit the 1st post.

Here is the answer:

Apparently , the activity changes every 1210000 units of the UNIX timestamp.

This equates to 14 days , 6 minutes , 40 seconds.

This means , after 3026 2 week periods , you would expect to gain 42364 activity.

But no , you would get only 42350 activity.

TLDR; Every 116 years you will lose out on 14 activity. Sad right ?

In order to make this thread more productive, here are some of the next timings :-

( All times in GMT )

7/7/2015 11:53:20
7/21/2015 12:00:00
8/4/2015 12:06:40
8/18/2015 12:13:20
9/1/2015 12:20:00
9/15/2015 12:26:40

Here is a list of all the ACCURATE start dates of the 14 day periods till 2060 !

FAQs of the Activity system
(All of these can be found stickied in the Meta , but just in case)

Q : How is activity calculated ?

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

Q : Help ! My activity (or rank) has not activated yet , even though I have sufficient posts and have posted in sufficient time periods !

Outdated. It occasionally takes much longer to update, but still an hour on average

Hello
if I keep my coin emc2 on bittrex is that I win the new coin?

there is no new coin, the supply of coins will be burned, hence the total supply will be less. Your coins are safe, due to the fact that bittrex has updated their wallet to the newest version. So don't do anyhting just wait till the burn has taken place.
35  Other / Meta / Re: You have been banned by a forum moderator on: November 19, 2017, 12:06:06 PM
I am wondering if OP is a serial offender... and this was just one example, perhaps most recent.

It doesn't matter if he is a serial offender or not, copy-pasting is and should be taken care of in the hard way. We don't need people copy-pasting things on the forum so they can get jr. member and earn their money on signature campaigns. These kind of practices happen every day and should be banned from this forum.

If he had cited the source, there would be no problem in that post, right?

Correct however even citing the source doesn't mean you are contributing to the thread. So many accounts try to get a rank up by just posting "interesting" text they get from a site to be "helpful". However the problem is that these copy-pasters usually are no native english speakers (or can't write english even with google translate), so just by observing their post history you can easily find out that they are copy-pasting.
36  Other / Meta / Re: Unlock account request due to purposely locking myself out on: November 19, 2017, 11:59:50 AM
I've read some threads on here explaining that you need to prove your identity using your bitcoin address that might have been sent or might be on your profile. As far as I know I've never sent a bitcoin address to anyone on the forum or placed one on my profile (although if I did, I'd really appreciate it if you could let me verify what bitcoin address it might be if it's set to hidden so I can sign a message).

Any ideas or suggestions on what I should do next?

Just checked your post history and you are right, you have never posted a bitcoin address with that profile, did you every trade with someone and got a bitcoin address in a PM?

I am pretty sure you already read this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=497545.0

And as stated without a bitcoin address you can still be unlocked, however this process will take much longer. So that can be a reason Cyrus hasn't replied to your post. Maybe for in the future, stake an address to be safe in the future.

Good day dear moderators. Account spalser was banned to write personal messages. I sent email to the signed adress but have no answer. I dont know what to do in this case. I didnt copypasted the topics, and my comments were shot, because english is not my native language. I think this only the reason to the account ban. Could you help me? Thank you.

These kind of posts is the reason i can figure you were banned:

38  Other / Meta / Re: Hacked account recovery on: November 18, 2017, 09:24:08 PM
With recaptcha it is much harder to phish password(unless you forget that bct has recaptcha and you enter password to phishing site) and your account was created after the leak.
Sorry for going off topic with this post, but how that happened? I am curious because I see lots of accounts are hacked lately.
No, I didn't enter password on a phishing website, because I've been logged in in past few months (I clicked always stay logged in button), and I nver tried to login to Bitcointalk phishing websites. Everything is more complicated. First of all, my email was hacked, then hacker forwarded all incoming messages to his email. He changed my password via email recovery and finally changed my Bitcointalk account email address. He also tried to hack some other Bitcoin related websites, but 2fa didn't let him to do it.

Can you input your hacked email adress here, and tell us if and which sites your adress/password was compromised.
https://haveibeenpwned.com/

Maybe we can find the reason why so many accounts are hacked nowadays. And btw it's a safe site, they don't ask for anything more, just checking your adress with the database that's it.
