21  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are banks against cryptocurrency? on: May 24, 2024, 07:41:30 PM
Some banks are against crypto bank we can't say all of them are. They still let me send money to crypto exchanges at least. If they were against crypto, they wouldn't let me do that. Ripple also have some partnerships going on with some banks as far as I know. I think most banks acknowledged crypto at this point so I can't agree with your post really. At last that's how it is in my country. I've never seen a bank that didn't let me send money to an exchange here. They simply don't care. Banks can't do shit about crypto anyway. The government make the law and the banks follow it. As long as crypto isn't illegal, nobody cares if banks like or dislike crypto.
22  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can buy one domain for free. What is a good business idea? on: May 24, 2024, 06:42:52 PM
I don't think you'll get any useful advice here. You should be able to come up with your own idea if you want to be a successful businessman anyway. That's how it works usually. Depending on other people's ideas is not a good way to start things. You'll mostly get generic crap like "start a casino", "start an exchange", "sell stuff" etc.

What are your skills? Do you know coding? Are you good at writing articles? (maybe blogging is for you then) What are your hobbies? If you don't give us any info about yourself we can't say much and it would be smart not to share your private data.

As you see, knowing what you like and what you don't is a great place to start because we always want to have a business which we like.

A vegetarian guy won't become a good butcher for example.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difference between gamblers and real Bitcoin investors? on: May 24, 2024, 06:19:53 AM
Gamblers are all about “hit and run”. They wager big and they want instant returns. That’s why these people mostly make leveraged bets because they don’t have the stomach to wait for 2-3 years.

Investors are in the long-play. They are also gamblers but they are not players. There is a distinct difference. Investors act like the casino/the house because they have lots of patience and they want returns. They don’t care how long it will take. In the long run they almost never lose.
24  Other / Meta / Re: Is this forum getting worse and worse? on: May 23, 2024, 07:26:07 AM
Many people think facebook (which I stopped using more than 10 years ago) is completely crap compared to what it was 15 years ago and they are right about it but there is a difference between facebook and bitcointalk.

Facebook is always changing stuff. Changing the UI, changing-adding-removing features etc. bitcointalk has only made a few minimal additions (like the merit system) in the last 10 years and that’s actually one of the features I like about btt. I don’t like websites that change their look all the time.

If there is one thing I like about btt, it is how it kept its current look. I probably won’t like any changes they’ll ever make and I still use the old.reddit for the same reason.
25  Economy / Economics / Re: Canada USA UK and maybe Europe best countries now to become rich on: May 23, 2024, 04:20:20 AM
I don’t think that’s true. These are the developed countries and developed countries have lots of rules and regulations to make everything harder for businesses. Their tax laws are also a nightmare which makes it hard for a business to survive. You should be looking for a country that has a low corporate tax and fairly good laws that favor the businesses. Some countries favor corporations more than their citizens and a developed country certainly ain’t one of those countries. Is it fair for the citizens? No, and do we or should we care? No again because we are in the money making business bruh for this exact same reason I like oil and tobacco stocks a lot. It is because they make money.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do your parents invest in bitcoin ? on: May 23, 2024, 04:11:55 AM
No my parents don’t really like bitcoin. They are mostly into the classic stuff like real estate and stocks. I can’t blame them though because they are doing pretty good with those assets. They don’t need to invest in crypto because they can already make money without taking too much risk. Living long enough has benefits like that because time in the markets always beats timing the markets. Ask Warren if you don’t believe me. He made majority of his wealth after he became an elder. He was kind if rich when he was young but as he got older, he became filthy rich.
27  Other / Meta / Re: Is this forum getting worse and worse? on: May 22, 2024, 06:11:30 PM
The forum is dead pretty much. There is nothing interesting to discuss. I'll be honest and I am trying hard to make posts and even then I can't fulfill my weekly post quota (that's 30 posts) sometimes. It is because there is almost nothing to talk about. The forum looks so abandoned, like a desert. I miss the ICO days somehow. (around ~2017) Those times were the peak of this forum. Yes there were lots of spam, lots of account farmers but now I see that was part of the fun. Catching all those scammers/farmers were creating lots of post activity&drama.

Now there are (probably) no cheaters, there is no drama, and almost zero activity.

Maybe theymos should remove the merit system  Tongue
28  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why Lotto Winner Takes Time To Claim Their Rewards, What's The Point? on: May 22, 2024, 06:02:57 PM
I read that some lottery winners take weeks or even months to claim their rewards, but what's the point?

...

How about you? When do you think is the right time to claim your winnings?

Some people don't check the lottery results probably so they don't know that they won the lottery. They probably thought they weren't gonna win anyway so they never cared about it. What's the point of buying a ticket then? you might ask... These people are addicted to the dream of getting rich. They don't really want to get rich. They probably won't know what to do with tall that money once they get rich. They like to dream about it but getting the actual thing is not in the real of possibilities for them.

I've seen many people like that. They never think they can get out of the rat race and that's why they wage slave their lives till they die. To them, living without working is not even an option.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin backed loans on: May 22, 2024, 05:43:04 AM
I wouldn’t touch any of these platforms tbh. If you need FIAT just sell your other assets if you have any. If you have everything in btc, then you are doing it wrong anyway. You need to diversify your wealth into different assets  and you should definitely hold some FIAT. 10% is a good start and 15% ideal imo. Not too much, not too less. It won’t drag your portfolio down and it will have enough buying power to purchase a vacation or some health emergency.
30  Other / Meta / Re: The effect the mixer ban has had on the forum. on: May 21, 2024, 06:10:56 PM
That is absolutely right. Not only ban of signature campaigns negatively affect this forum but on the other hand, if signature campaigns lower pay rate as low as 40-50 USD per week, then this forum will experience significant lose of high quality posters and will be left with bunch of spammers. By the way, I wonder why other forums didn't copy this strategy of Bitcointalk, i.e. to allow signature campaigns. I don't wanna be "that" guy but I think that o_e_l_e_o was here because of high pay rate and he left because of low pay rate and we lost a very amazing member because of that! o_e_l_e_o was a real asset (I know he said that he had an illness but I don't believe it, sorry but I love him, he will always be in my memory).

Let's be honest we can't know 100% if o_e_l_e_o really left the forum because of his health issues or for some other reason. We can only make educated guesses based on his post history and since he looks like a genuine a person, I'd say the chances for him telling the truth are higher than 90%. Is it 100%? Unless you know him in real life and saw his hospital records, you can't tell that and I think nobody here knows him in real life.

But saying that he left the forum because he didn't get paid enough is a serious accusation.

Leave the forum and do what? There isn't any other forum on the internet where you can make that much money just by posting.

So I think what you say is very unlikely.

I think if he had good health, he would be around and making posts even if there were no sig camps available. That's the impression I got from him.
31  Economy / Gambling / Re: Predict the price of crypto and win! on: May 21, 2024, 05:38:09 PM
You should probably run some paid signature campaign if you want to promote your business around here. Otherwise creating a topic only won’t have a big impact because there are many other casinos that offer similar price prediction games.

Brand recognition is a huge step forward and the best way to get that is running a paid signature campaign. There are a few very professional sig camp managers in the forum and you should probably contact them if you are serious about promoting your business.

Even though the forum is far from its old glory days, there are still thousands of people visit here every day. I am pretty sure you’ll get what you pay for.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which coins are undervalued in 2024? on: May 21, 2024, 05:30:31 PM
Tbh I don’t think there is anything else other than Litecoin. It is the most preferred crypto currency on bitpay but somehow its market price doesn't reflect that. Its current price is way below its ATH price which was above $300. Also the litecoin ETF will probably get approved soon and that makes it a no brainer choice. I sometimes think there must be a catch, surely I am not the only person who sees that but somehow for some reason it is not moving.

I think it is either the market makers know something I don’t, or they are manipulating the prices so they can buy all them cheap litecoins.
33  Economy / Economics / Re: Silver/USD is at its highest since 2013 on: May 20, 2024, 05:12:40 PM
The US debt is growing exponentially and the only way to pay that much debt is printing even more debt > hyperinflation

It will be either Weimar Germany or there will be WWIII soon. I don't think the USD will go down silently and peacefully.

Yep, unless there's a WWIII or the US performs some kind of financial wizardry, it seems inevitable that US citizens are going to be using Canadian dollars or Mexican pesos (or maybe euros) as their preferred currency.  But somehow I have a feeling that none of those things are probable except for a war--and that's frightening.

With regard to silver and gold, I'm not sure their recent rise is tied to deteriorating economic conditions.  That could be the case, but if you remember the years leading up to 2011, it was really just speculation that drove gold and silver to all-time highs (though silver had reached $50 in the 1980s because of the Hunt brothers if I'm not mistaken).  That might be what's happening now, because asset prices have been rising across the board for some time now, with metals (including copper, too) lagging stocks and crypto for years.

Gold and Silver are pricing the incoming interest rate drops. Meaning; People are increasing their positions in precious metals (and bitcoin) to front run the hyperinflation scenario which is expected to happen in the near future after the FED drops the interest rates.

Remember, the markets are always future looking. That's what we are seeing here. People expect high/hyperinflation and that's why the commodity prices are hot. Stocks are moving upwards too. Especially commodity&mining stocks.

I don't think the US people will be using Mexican Pesos or Canadian Dollars. They ain't much different than the USD unless I am missing something. The currencies which are backed by production power & commodity possession are the powerful FIAT currencies. Combine this currency with a country that has huge trade surpluses, and then you'll see which countries are actually winning.

https://www.statista.com/statistics/256642/the-20-countries-with-the-highest-trade-surplus/

EURO is an abomination. As you can see above; Germany, Norway and the Netherlands are doing the hard work while the others do the leeching. If EURO was only used by Germany, Norway and the NL (and maybe France since it has some real economy), then it would be a strong af currency but not in its current state. It is crap as it is.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Number of new Bitcoin wallets drops to lowest level since 2018 on: May 20, 2024, 02:37:19 PM
Price-wise it is OK to be bullish because bitcoin is a deflationary asset but adoption-wise, it is kind of concerning. We have already seen Litecoin beating Bitcoin on bitpay stats and that happened 5 months consecutively. I don't think the stats for May will be much different. People simply don't use bitcoin for payments anymore and it is not people's fault, they simply can't use it because of the high fees and that's why they are using something else. In this situation, it happens to be litecoin.

https://bitpay.com/stats/

Maybe it is better this way. If people want to make payments, they can choose an alt and there are no shortage of good, cheap & fast altcoins. Litecoin, Dogecoin, XMR and even bcash is not that bad if you want to pay cheap tx fees. People who want to get digital gold, they'll get bitcoin.
35  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What type of a trader/investor is this? on: May 20, 2024, 02:20:18 PM
That's not an investor, that's a gambler. Gamblers take huge risks and they never know when to stop because they are addicted to the adrenaline (or dopamine) which they can only obtain by making risky bets. That's what you are looking at here. Investors don't take that much risk. They diversify their portfolios in various assets. Most of them are content with pretty conservative returns and that's usually not more than 10-12%/year. When you go above 15%/year it starts to get dangerously risky and it is usually not sustainable when it is above 20%/year.

So turning $3k into $80k was a huge success and he should have left it there. However, we know that he was never gonna do that because that's how he made that $80k in the first place. (by not quitting) If he was a quitter, he would have quit right after he made his 100%. In the end, that's just another gambler's story. From something small to some thing big, from something big to something, from something to nothing. End of the story.
36  Economy / Economics / Re: Idea of btc is genius the limited supply that's why i think it's safe heaven on: May 20, 2024, 11:37:58 AM
Limited supply + infinite demand = unlimited wealth

Your research is spot on professor. Bitcoin indeed cured poverty. In a few years the early adopters of bitcoin will become so rich, they’ll have enough money to buy a small European country entirely.

The only thing you need is some money to start things and patience, lots of patience. Make no mistake, throwing money into bitcoin is the easy part. Waiting is the hardest part of this game. You should probably make a revision to your article and add that part too.

37  Economy / Economics / Re: Silver/USD is at its highest since 2013 on: May 19, 2024, 07:39:35 PM
There are strange hype about silver in the twitter that i can't understand. Looks like nothing changed for this metal however people are buying it much more in the recent months

It is underpriced af that’s why people are hoarding it. I don’t think there are many commodities that haven’t reached its last ATH recently. Silver is one of those rare assets. It hit $50 in 2011, then crashed and it hasn’t been recovered from that crash ever since.

Gold made a new ATH and went above $2400 but silver is still struggling. If you check the historical gold/silver ratios, you’ll see that either silver is cheap or gold is expensive. Since gold isn’t expensive, it means silver is cheap.

That’s a sure bet.
38  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Turkey Prepares New Crypto Law to Align With International Standards on: May 19, 2024, 07:09:21 PM
Turkey has been seeking for years to join NATO and the European Union, and therefore it will do everything necessary to not be included in the “gray list” for monitoring financial crimes, which will certainly be a major stumbling block on the way to joining the European Union, which it has dreamed of for years.

I believe that this “gray list” will force many countries other than Turkey to establish more stringent regulatory laws for cryptocurrencies and everything related to them in order to avoid being placed on the list by the United States and Europe.

https://www.nato.int/cps/en/natohq/declassified_191048.htm
Quote
It is this policy that led to its membership of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization on 18 February 1952. Since then, NATO has been the cornerstone of Türkiye’s defence and security policy.

What have you been drinking? Türkiye has been a NATO member for decades, probably one of the oldest members of NATO. (since 1952) Yes Türkiye want to get in the EU but people slowly realize that it is never going to happen.

Getting out of gray list is an important task though. We should definitely handle that asap but I don't have high hopes because it is the current government who invited all that criminals and their money to the country to prevent us from going bankrupt.
39  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Venezuela bans crypto mining on: May 19, 2024, 07:02:40 PM
Can solar power able to mine bitcoins/ Crypto Strongly? If possible strongly it will be good.

This move follows a recent crackdown involving the confiscation of 2,000 cryptocurrency mining devices as part of an anti-corruption initiative.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/venezuela-bans-crypto-mining-to-protect-power-grid

No, solar is useless for mining crypto. The batteries are the main problem. They cost a lot and they go bad after a few thousand full cycles and bitcoin miners are power hungry which means the batteries will get killed very fast. Another problem is that you should always keep the batteries full and that means you have to pump lots of solar power into them all the time and that's also not possible because the sun isn't always up. The batteries will go low quickly the moment you stop getting solar power from the panels.

When you do the math, you'll see that a solar mining setup would make you lose a lot of money. Solar is only good for your daily activities like charging phone/laptop, watch tv etc. Many solar systems struggle to keep a basic fridge on.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MemoryDealers aka Roger Ver Arrested! on: May 19, 2024, 06:11:20 PM
Well they both went to Spain.
Lesson, never go to Spain.

Never go to any of the US-allied countries if you owe tax money to the US. The outcome wouldn't have been any different if he had visited Portugal or Germany instead of Spain. They caught the btc-e CEO in which country? Greece? They can get you anywhere unless you are in Russia/China.

The better solution is: don't get indebted to the US.

Al Capone couldn't get away, McAfee couldn't get away. You won't get away too.
