You ether need more peers (to activate more than defal which is 8 I do believe) and/or get faster storage using RAID with HDD or use SSD.
Connection to more peers won't help in syncing the blockchain. The speed is mostly limited through CPU and Hard Drive, not amount of connections or internet speed. A RAID is for redundat storage (done for reliability). It does NOT increase the speed in any way. Only SSD do give a distinct advantage in speed. Sort of. Connecting to a single fast peer is the best way. Modern computer & SSD -- from blocks ~100,000 to ~250,000, can sync fast enough to do something like 20-50MB/s. re: RAID, this is untrue, but I won't go into length about it, can do a simple google search. I always set my RAID up as striped.

Most blocks mined by pools are orphaned a few mins later due to this attack. Will be fixed by dev soon as said. Not much we can do now, then wait and pray
Fixed, how? ed: a botnet at standby? i guess this is a cpu coin. no clue.

ed: the distribution chart is quite different from when I bought in and became #2 holder. there is someone showing at 800k. it still has the possibility to go up a bit more, if this 800k holder is 'friendly'.
it was 860k, now this person has started selling, & you can see the result. a few trades back and forth to himself, & the large bid at 400 satoshi is this same person but, anyway, if you are not this person, you should sell. to his or her bid. just sayin'. jesus weeps i have picked new currency. but i have to get some first. it may take a while. keep an eye out!

sounds nice. When can we expect more news?
I sold mine at 700 satoshi or so. Will give update on next coin, thanks. You can reference my post on April 4th for more info on this coin, ed: the distribution chart is quite different from when I bought in and became #2 holder. there is someone showing at 800k. it still has the possibility to go up a bit more, if this 800k holder is 'friendly'. the + % gain won't 'reset' for another 18 hrs. i would not want to be holding any after midnight UTC for sure. don't think it's worth the risk personally, but, hey. much of this trading volume is buying and selling to self. the bitcoin cost to get it this high would have been minimal.. like i said, it had a fantastic orderbook

Hi! Devs, what kind of programming language do you plan to use? Is there some code of this project already exist?
Salutations! It is written in C++, of course. I decided to do another minute or so of research and found that it is based off of bitcoind v0.8.2. A couple of variables are changed and a few copyright violations are made -- that is the extent of the changes. The developer likely has no knowledge of C++ whatsoever. full disclosure: I am #2 holder on Cryptopia. My short term outlook is over the top bullish, I expect 40-500% gains within the next month (to be wiped out over the course of the next week or two) -- or whenever buying more would induce maximum benefit (need a favorable one day moving average to achieve maximum +%). Long term? It's not worth a single satoshi. I never looked at 'Bitgem' since it was priced outside of my typical viewing range. Sigh.

Bitcoin is just like any casino or lottery - it is a tax on stupid people who fundamentally do not understand that this is a game they will lose. It is tax on low intelligence.
I get taxed 15% on my bitcoin divestiture

Of course.
Unless it goes under $5500, then you best start heading for the hillz or find a tree of woe to ponder under.

The project looks quite interesting. I think these services will be in demand on the market. Say me when the ICO start?
I am not sure what the project is & I doubt the services will be in demand... ever. I don't think there are any innovative ideas here. ... but, gotta say, this coin has a beautiful orderbook and distribution graph on Cryptopia. It is on my shortlist of coins to pu.... watch. I think it could be even better than Ladacoin.

Bandwidth (or even CPU processing power) will become a limiter way before HDD space. I know the client allows you to set outgoing limits now, but I ended up killing the public node I had going after some sustained 1Gbps upstream for over 12 hrs. Not sure if it was legit block downloads or just someone being a meanie. Couldn't say it's a DDoS since it wasn't a lot of diff streams. I guess it's also possible I got to the top of that seed list. The one thing that this big blockchain does cause is make it hard to find some VPS out there that have enough space for it =) Speaking of which, dacentec has some $20 and $25 servers right now. https://billing.dacentec.com/hostbill/index.php?/cart/dedicated-servers/ alas, they broke my affiliate link. so i'm not even making anything from this. jaja. Which games are planning a partnership with your project?
I hear Derek Smart is on board.

Greetings!
If not properly managed, afforestation can result in a reduction of local biodiversity, the modification of particular biomes, the introduction of non-native and potentially invasive species, reduced stream flow, and lost revenue from agriculture. Native grasslands that are converted to forests may not contain the same habitat for local species, and ill-managed reforestation efforts may result in the production of a monoculture that lacks not only plant diversity but reduces the number of available habitat types for forest inhabitants.
Is Rampant Coin outsourcing this tree planting to a knowledgeable entity? Thanks!

It looks very fancy, there are many new concepts, but why do you want to pre-sell 15% of the tokens? It looks like it is money
What new concepts? Who wouldn't take some code, change a few integers, and sell to idiots for profit? 100% self-funded, wow. I'll assume your website has DDoS protection? So this costs you about $300 for a month? If not, maybe $25 on a budget? I am shivering with excitement.

Afraid of hackers? No.
I lose a bit of sleep over whether I should continue to hold some bitcoins on Cryptopia & make money taking advantage of these saps & the ever-increasing odds that this stored money on Cryptopia will simply disappear into the ether (perhaps they'd blame it on "hackers").
These latest coin additions (many of which aren't even worth a single satoshi) has me leaning more towards taking my exit now while I'm ahead.

It's like this:
Bitcoin goes up, all the altcoins, shitcoins, and scamcoins go up.
Bitcoin goes down, all the altcoins, shitcoins, and scamcoins go down.
there is one exception (a decent amount of the time) -- that being Ethereum ... which is the only digital currency other than Bitcoin worth putting money in atm.
|
|
|
It looks like Cryptopia listed this scamcoin.
The top holder only has about 20 billion.
How many do you think this person will be able to sell at one satoshi to the unwashed masses (*after cryptopia takes its prearrange payment)? Only time will tell.
PS - Stop trying to get people to promote scamcoins.

|
|
Why does Cryptopia continue to list these shit/scamcoins that aren't even worth a single satoshi?
Trying to remove this last thread of credibility?

Dear Dentacoin Team,
please go out of HITBTC or look for an alternative, this one will destroy your token..since a couple of days DCN wants to go up, but bots prevent any movements up
Come again? What alternate reality do you live in?
