701  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: A Complete Guide to P2Pool - Merged Mining (BTC/NMC/DVC/IXC/I0C) plus LTC, Linux on: February 20, 2014, 01:46:02 PM
Okay, P2pool has been a nightmare to get up and running. There is so much that is left unsaid in the instructions and so much to read between the lines. I also received so many errors during the process, but finally made some progress.

Have you guys wondered why --net dogecoin doesn't work when you try to run the pool for dogecoin?

Can't say that I have, seeing as how the default p2pool client from forrestv's github only has support for bitcoin, litecoin, and terracoin.

Namecoin has allowed namecoin.conf for a long time (18 months+), but bitcoin.conf still works as well.

705  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [KGC] The future is krugercoin and the future is now! [Official Launch] on: February 15, 2014, 08:03:49 PM
OK, nm.  I'm taking pool down and ceasing my ongoing pump & dump for this crapcoin.  Hobonickles at least had a decent set of pools, this is just total garbage.

The block reorgs, due to either a) poor pool connectivity, b) shitty server, or c) malicious intent.  I've had two nodes online for over 12 hrs now, so that's plenty of time for them to connect to either of these pools.  There's no reason for so many reorgs, it just points to shitty pool setup.  P2pool.org is commendable in that it had zero, though.

Congrats krugercoin.miners-pool.eu and kgc.botpool.net on being trash.  If you're running a fucking pool, have listen on on at least ONE node, *or* have more than 8 outgoing connections, ffs.

My avg buy-in is around 360, so I guess it won't be too bad.  Damn, and I was just about to put up that block explorer too.

Moving on...

ed:  just checked the French node, it has just as many reorgs & has managed to make 4 outgoing connections on a 500 timeout.  95% of blocks have come from either 192.186.133.74 (p2pool.org) or 5.9.24.81 (nogleg.com), the other 5% are from 84.104.23.68.

706  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] WorldCoin WDC | Coin of the Future | Instant Transactions | Launched on: February 15, 2014, 10:03:12 AM
This shares the same port as Kruger?  I guess it was branched off of KrugerCoin?  they are both 15s blocks

i'm running krugercoind & about 1/3rd of my connections are to people running 'WorldcoinFoundation:0.8.6.1'

ed: or more likely, krugercoin was a copy of worldcoin.   if i had to make a guess!

err, d'oh.  I guess I should have changed the port,

but nogleg.com:2222 is now an elite KrugerCoin pool...

709  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: HBN HoboNickels - Why is the price soaring? on: February 15, 2014, 03:13:34 AM
I bought 10 bitcoins worth of Hobonickels earlier this month, when they were worth 5 cents each.

Hobonickels are the future of cryptocurrencies, obviously.

New stratum server for main pool is online. Switch to the second server if you have connection issues.
We need more pools...
What, you mean like 5.9.24.81:2222?

oh, wait

vnc.jtcpools.org - email signup not working

I appreciate that many pools are trying to enhance security, but it's so frustrating when the email confirmations only work half the time.
It's probably another MPOS pool?  on a VPS?

MPOS pools are much less 'secure' than p2pools, yet everyone prefers to use them for some reason or another.

Lots of monies is to be had by making MPOS pools and ceasing payouts after x amt of days

Well I'm confused.  Should I keep mining?  Are we still gonna pump and dump this shit?  Or save my hashes for the other flappycoin so we can pump and dump that shit?  Can we pump and dump both?  That would be lovely.

agreed

i am going to try to hit up all the flappycoins today

Not if it's flappy.

Flappy is no longer firewalled.  For a few hours.

OK, now you can use addnode=5.9.24.81.

27.3.192.200 was a pile of shit syncnode too, as it never sends any blocks.

Well, wallet wont sync for me.
Make the .conf file in the OP

That doesn't work, none of those nodes connect.  People are stupid as shit.
