21  Other / Meta / Re: The Reality of this forum on: June 25, 2018, 09:23:40 AM
There are a number of things that responsible members can do to help the forum. One thing is to try to maintain an efficient flow for thread readers. For example, a poster of member rank should be aware that full quotes are usually redundant, so the quote by BitNaija immediately after the post by Theymos is both redundant and annoying. I'd like to revisit this thread, so I put him on ignore to save wasting my time when scrolling.

Never had a thought that full quotes are redundant and makes hard to read answers, and I always used them, but now when I thought about it, it really makes sense. You live and learn.
22  Other / Meta / Re: AI Bot on the forum? on: June 25, 2018, 07:17:12 AM
AI cant do posts like that. The randomization of characters together with the emoticons are too far from the capability of the AI from now. Yes AI can analyze texts and characters, but not the whole sense of it. We all do have our different typing techniques, yet you found his posts different from what you expect.

Hence, AI is too far to be a problem of the forum, and users who's just actively posting his emotions in forum especially in the politics thread aren't enough to gain moderators' attention.

Yes, it can, you would be amazed by what AI can do nowadays. You can create an absolutely unique personality with deep neural networks, it can get a sense of the word, the meaning of the sentence, see the emotion in that sentence. It does that by building complex data structures out of words and sentences. For example, if I want my bot to learn what emotions are, I just show examples/objects of what are emotions and what emotions are not, and as I continue to point more examples/objects, AI becomes more aware of the features what emotions possess.

I never said that he is a problem to the forum, I just got an idea maybe there is small chance about my theory.
23  Other / Meta / Re: AI Bot on the forum? on: June 24, 2018, 03:11:10 PM

Have you really checked his "posts"?
All are about politics, focused on Trump, the Eu and Brexit, try to find that crap in Bounties  Grin

He's just a bit .....not fully synchronized with the chain  Grin, like a lot of the guys in that section. Have you checked  this bot?

Not all of them, but yeah politics is his passion Cheesy

Your one looks like more advanced level Cheesy
24  Other / Meta / Re: AI Bot on the forum? on: June 24, 2018, 10:09:55 AM
If that is an AI bot then Artificial Intelligence is probably doomed.

Looks like someone who types like they talk. Without punctuation.

So probably bot gathering info from Bitcoin Discussion, Altcoin Discussion, Bounties and Announcements section, where most spammers live.

Actually why I got the idea to create a thread like this, because in another forum I saw a thread, where AI bot ran on the forum, gathered data from all posts, and wrote pretty much similar stuff.
25  Other / Meta / Re: [Guide] Reporting effectively on: June 24, 2018, 06:39:13 AM
So this thread encouraged me to do reporting more actively, I think step by step we'll clean this forum from shitposters. But the thing which I noticed and it looks weird to me when I report somebody my report count and accuracy increases instantly, it's at 100% accuracy right now, but reported posts stays in the place, without any actions. Is my account somehow broken and I can't report anyone, because looks like my reports didn't even get to the mods.
26  Other / Meta / Re: AI Bot on the forum? on: June 23, 2018, 08:22:01 PM
What I mean, is he have a very unusual writing style I guess. Lots of uppercase sentences, mixed sentences with uppercase and lowercase letters, lots of copy-paste URLs from youtube, and other websites, with dates, and videos times.
27  Other / Meta / AI Bot on the forum? on: June 23, 2018, 08:14:05 PM
Serious question.

I keep seeing this guy https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=513984 posting a lot, and honestly, I don't understand the meaning of any of his posts. And got a silly idea maybe somebody running some kind of Deep Learning AI bot which is now in learning phase? Cheesy

Here is his posting history: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=513984;sa=showPosts

No offense if it's a real guy.

28  Other / Meta / Re: A way to track new replies on the forum on: June 23, 2018, 01:38:34 PM
Not like the list in OP's image, but what I would do is directly jump to your reply from the link "Show the last posts of this person" in your profile.  In this way you do not need to scroll down to your reply in the thread.

If you are asking how to see only replies to your post that includes quotation of your reply, you can use forum search with your user name, choose "Search order: Most recent topics first", and look for posts quoting your post.
This! Scroll to your last unread message in a thread. This function would be so helpful, all other places have it, and it makes surfing through the forum so much easier.
I meant that you can do that in the current system.  You can find the direct links to your previous posts from "Show the last posts of this person".  For example in your case

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2138583;sa=showPosts

Of course it does not distinguish the posts you've read or not but at least you can directly jump to your post without scroll.

It's not the same, because you have to comment, and with your suggestion, you go back only to your message. What I meant, that if you read the thread, and when visit the thread again after some time, you would go straight to last unread message instead of the first post message like now.

30  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: WARNING: Be careful with your 2FA! on: June 21, 2018, 09:43:01 PM
Following yours, the best option is write it down on paper.  Kiss

But for most sites, for example cryptocurrency exchanges, you can recover your 2FA by using ID or passport.

But that paper can be lost or ca be burned (extreme circumstances). Is it not safe to store them on mail or some cloud with proper encryption of course? I personally write them on notepad, encrypt it and then email it to myself.

I have a better suggestion. Download some app like evernote, save all your passwords and keys there. Now create an email ID and don't use it for any other purposes. Sign in in evernote using that email ID and encrypt the app. There. Now you can access your keys anywhere, on any device with no chances of losing them. Also safe and secure.

Encrypted or not, once you start storing your 2FA code in the cloud to be able to access it from anywhere you are kinda killing the purpose of 2FA. Or to be more precise -- once the same device that you use to enter your password can also be used to access your 2FA key, you lose the "2 Factor" part of 2FA. Just a heads up.

How many times you had to access your 2FA backup codes? Because in like 4 years, I never had to use my 2FA backup codes. You'll store your codes encrypted in the cloud, with email registered specifically for this purpose. And obviously, if you'll lose your phone or whatever, you don't try to connect from every device possible to your cloud where backup codes are. I don't know, but for me, it looks to store backup codes like that as safe as to store them on the paper.

Please tell me which program to use for encryption? A program that is easy to download and use for a beginner. Thank you

You can encrypt text inside Evernote app. You select the text, right click mouse and press Encrypt selected text. That's all.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Microsoft buying GitHub for 7.5 billion, Good or it's Death? on: June 19, 2018, 04:47:54 PM
I guess its fine if Github changed owners, I just hope Microsoft is not going to mess with Github too much. If MS actually screws Github we always have bitbucket that is also enjoy using. Free private repositories FTW

You can't expect that to happen though. I suspect they bought github just to ave the data of the developers. What would happen next is very much unsure, how many anon coins developer are there whcih is now exposed to them? Is XMR coders in there too? They value so much of privacy, now look what privacy means for these people.

It means absolutely nothing for those who value privacy, they already using, VPN, tor, and other possible tools, to protect their privacy.

because people on ebay are retarded/greedy and pay moon prices

MAte you such a COCK.. calling everyone greedy because you have no money to buy things..what a TOTAL idiot you are same shit over and over again.. you must be so young..

Anway mate...

They sell the Z9 to WASH the bitcoin without paying TAX.

Buy z9 with BTC and sell for $$$ .. easy money laundering.

And how is that money laundering? You get $$$, so you have to pay taxes.

After you pay tax, the remaining is legitimate money, hence laundered.

Lol, I get it now, when wrote the answer, thought about a different thing.

I like KuCoin pretty well. It's where I trade my Onions and I've never had any issues or delays from them.

But when you'll run into problems with them you'll have a hard time. Their support is terrible, you have to wait weeks for answers from support, they close support ticket without even answering them. I just can't suggest anyone to use KuCoin.

Another thing which you should try from run Command promt as administrator, and try to run "winstat formal" if this doesn't work try "winstat diskformal". This will reset your SSD type, and Windows should recognize it as SSD.

Thank you for your long reply ,I’m afraid I did not set it up and not the most tech savvy guy 😬 I will research the links etc you suggested and thank you for your kind help . If I should manage to recover it would I have an option to send it to my nano ledger ?

Yeah, if you will recover your wallet, you could send your coins to any wallet, including ledger.
39  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: So, do you guys remember Lumi Wallet? on: June 12, 2018, 03:48:23 PM
Yes, I remember. The most important thing in storing cryptocurrency is a creation of a special key. This process happens entirely on your device, not on Lumi wallet servers. Private keys are under client control, they are never sent or stored outside of your device. Therefore, when you generate a new wallet, you are responsible for safely backing it up. The Lumi wallet has multi-function (Holding, sending, receiving and in-wallet exchange), multi-assets and multi-token.

Have you even read the post and the first answer? Because if you do, looks like you didn't understand anything what was said.
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: got old passphrase and possible pass on: June 12, 2018, 03:14:49 PM
I think what he has is seed and password of the wallet. In that case, the password is not necessary, because when you'll use a seed on the wallet, you could set up a new password. I guess I would start with Electrum wallet.
