21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee Has Left His Own Privacy Asset Project on: August 20, 2020, 12:59:22 PM
All the projects shilled by John McAfee usually end up with sad stories. Initially it pumps then FUD sets it along the line, leading to massive dump. GHOST 👻 is no exception of his shilled shitcoins, anyone investing so much in any coin based on hype should rethink. Hyped coins are for cashout only in my opinion.
22  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: WHAT TYPE OF CRYPTO INVESTOR ARE YOU? on: August 19, 2020, 09:59:01 PM
I fall under two categories of crypto investors as pointed out by OP; crypto trader and holder. Crypto trader because I do short term and mid term trading, and also holder because I hold BTC and ETH including few altcoins for very long term. I think being a trader has paid me more, even though I'm a part time trader with an offline job.
23  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto currency is all about Hodling. on: August 19, 2020, 01:41:07 PM
Holding some coins for long term is cool, but sometimes you regret holding if the coin dumps massively or if you miss out on coin swaps. I'm a trader and I know it's not easy to hold most altcoins long term, especially when the charts signal dump. Any coin I decide to hold, it means I take it as an investment and forget about it even if it dumps and I don't invest so much funds when I decide to go long term on any coin.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: EOS WALLET??FU!! on: August 18, 2020, 08:56:39 PM
This looks like a problem of some sort. I once had an EOS wallet, I had just little EOS inside, when I try to import the wallet it kept failing and failing, I had to delete it and never use it again. I will create another EOS wallet on imtoken wallet I hope this won't bring another problem again.

Your issue to import is strange, are you sure you actually paid the fees for creating the said wallet? EOS wallet requires activation and can be done with ETH/EOS on IMTOKEN and Debit card on Eoslynx. I don't know why everyone keep complaining about EOS wallet, transfer of EOS and tokens from the wallet usually require CPU/RAM. This always gives errors at some point. It sucks a lot.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: IOTA. Real OR Fake? on: August 18, 2020, 01:51:06 PM
I'm yet to see concrete proof to show IOTA is actually scam, just scam accusations without convincing proofs. In as much as I'm not an IOTA holder, I do follow the project on Twitter and they keep the updates coming through. If at IOTA is scam, I doubt if the project will still give updates till date.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Bad Exchanges on: August 17, 2020, 10:24:48 PM
many i see small exchanges manipulate volume they use the bot as if the volume seems high besides that, small exchangers have very little interest
better never use small exchangers too risky

Most times people use small exchanges because they have no option, maybe that's the only exchange where the coin they want to trade is listed. However, some exchanges should be totally avoided, I remember losing huge funds trying to trade a token on HiBTC (not HITBTC) in the past. Lesson learnt the hard way, I don't even go close to exchanges without large daily volumes, tight security and excellent reputation.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If someone mistakenly sent you 1 ETH, what would you do? on: August 15, 2020, 11:21:58 AM
Honestly if someone mistakenly send me ETH, I will contact some people i think might be from them, without mentioning the amount and requesting for etherscan url as proof. If no one owns up, I'll definitely keep the ETH. Most people will count it as luck 🤞, to be candid.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never invest in any cryptocurrencies! on: August 14, 2020, 03:52:00 PM
So you mean to say we should just wait and earn crypto? coz for me investing in cryptocurrency is really a good idea and a good start.
i don't think cryptocurrency would grow if no one would buy or invest on it.

Just follow one of the rule "Invest what you can afford to lose"

I think you are missing a point here, OP actually meant if you come to crypto with the mindset of it being a get rich quick scheme, you shouldn't invest in crypto. Not actually from the perspective you see it. Investing in crypto has been one of the best things that happened to me over time, in as much as risk is attached. There is no investment without risk factor per say.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: UNISWAP MADNESS on: August 14, 2020, 01:27:42 PM
Uniswap is extremely valid in this space, however many new projects including scams take advantage of uniswap to list tokens unofficially. I've used uniswap on trust wallet, imtoken and MEW and it worked flawlessly, but the gas fee for transactions nowadays is escalating.
30  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Decentralized Cloud Storage: Is it worth it? on: August 13, 2020, 09:50:14 PM
You need a token to access many of the features of decentralized cloud storage when some centralized platforms offer these services for free. Unless you are taking what you are storing to be of high priority, I do not see the reason why DEX cloud storage will be an option. By the way, cloud storage such as google drive has gone far in such a way now that many of the users of the phone are directly asked to backup their data on google drive when accessing a new phone. Maybe in the nearest future, the DEX storage might worth it but not presently

You just pointed out the main reason why it will be so difficult for decentralized storage to find relevance mainstream. If the cloud storage projects having a coin/token totally remove the idea of needing some coins for premium access to the DEX storage features, then there won't be a valid use case for their coins. Also, when it comes to storing important documents, most people prefer using reputable centralized storage firms including myself.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Safest cryptocurrency wallets on: August 13, 2020, 08:09:39 AM
The safety depends largely on how you use the wallet. Any form of wallet that has no control to your private keys are safer from third party risks. Paper wallet maybe safe from third parties but keeping the paper safe and keeping privacy during printing and claiming your coins back would have a degree of risks. Similar are the risks with hardware wallets. Online wallets can be safer for a person who uses the coins often as they have multiple verification system but your funds would be at the mercy of third party.

Very nice points here, both hardware wallets and software wallets have their own pros and cons, there is risk attached to both. For long term hold of coins, hardware wallet will be better since they are more secure. Online wallets on the other hand needs typing or copy/paste of private keys, and people get hacked if there is a Spyware installed to steal funds. This is the more reason why anyone using online wallets should never use third party keyboards, since some are developed by scammers and they get access to anything copied to clipboard.
32  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum's biggest contender? on: August 12, 2020, 09:06:09 PM
So many smart contract platforms have emerged over time, ramping up the competition for ETH. Some have claimed to be the "Ethereum Killer" (like EOS), only to fail altogether. While none have been compared to ETH in terms of decentralization and reliability, there are some projects which aim to base their development on an academic level. One of those projects is Cardano. With a focus on PoS and decentralization, it could become ETH's biggest contender in the future. Other projects like EOS and TRON may have already adopted PoS, but they're inherently centralized. Which is why, I strongly believe that Cardano could topple ETH in the not-so-distant future.

What are your thoughts? Will Cardano become Ethereum's biggest contender? If not, which smart contract platform do you think it will? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Smiley

I think that ETH will remain at the top among smart contract platforms. How many rivals he had and no one came close to him. ETH has already won a large audience and it will be very difficult to lure users to another platform. They would have managed to overtake eth if the team did not work on the coin, but they are constantly trying to improve it in contrast to other projects. So far, I don't see any rivals for ETH among the existing coins.

Actually Ethereum is the pace setter for smart contracts, but this doesn't mean in future there won't be any blockchain project better than Ethereum. I have so much confidence in ETH since the development so far has been nonstop, github activities proves that. For now, I'm yet to see a close match for ETH wrt smart contract, in as much as I'm a Cardano and Tron fan.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will you be the investor that made that fortune or not? on: August 12, 2020, 01:59:21 PM
#DeFi

Fortunes will be made during this 2020 #DeFi craze, and also fortunes will be lost.  Will you be the investor that made that fortune or not?

$ETH, $LINK, $BAND, $KAVA, $JST, $ORN
How do you think benefit from these Token ?

I made cool profit from ETH and BAND, still holding my ETH but sold 80% of my BAND. I was so lucky to get in BAND at 1$+, with determination to hold long term seeing the amazing project development. DEFI craze is on and many DEFI related coins are surging. Today YAM gained so much attention after tweet from Arthur Hayes, Bitmex CEO. The hype aspect making people to buy in when they see DEFI is what I detest, people should also look deep on what the project has to offer.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm dumping my coins because.. on: August 11, 2020, 10:11:44 PM
I only have 2 reason why I dump my coins:
1st is I need cash and I want to buy something.
2nd is if I don't think that the project or coin wouldn't have any higher value as it is before I dump it.
You didn't mention dumping to take profit after a pump, very good reasons you gave here. Most crypto investors dump coins when price starts going down badly, even at massive loss. However, it's unwise to dump coins just because price is going down, if the underlying reason for the dump is not scam or legal issues etc.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm dumping my coins because.. on: August 11, 2020, 05:31:46 PM
usually I throw away to buy it back cheap, because other bounty participants will also throw it cheaper than me, so I take the opportunity to buy it cheaper, if the market is really good, I will start first, but if only my DEX exchange is not will buy it again because it will be difficult to progress and develop, but if the coin has the potential to enter into a large exchange, it's best to keep it in the bag.

Interesting strategy to sell and buy back cheap but in the real sense, it's always difficult to buy back. Reason being that when price is down, you expect it to go down the more, this happened to me on BZRX. sold my bag to buy back but it left me. Sold at 0.2+$ now its at 0.5+$.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why do some people stop their crypto project? on: August 10, 2020, 08:51:08 PM
Some projects fold due to mismanagement, insufficient funds to run the project or poor strategies, but most projects actually fail because they are scam. Proper use of funds after token sale is important, some projects use more than required funds for promotion, appropriating little to product development and so on. Some projects fail due to legal constraints.
37  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Xcard a scam? on: August 10, 2020, 05:40:16 PM
What's happening with Xcard? I participated in this bounty campaign and since months ago now everything seem quiet and no one is talking about the project, is Xcard a scam project or a failed project?

That project looked so legit when launched, with a very cool project aim. I wonder how they stopped giving updates about the project. Atleast they should update the community, but they kept silent. Nobody can actually say if it's scam presently but anyone who intended to invest must have lost interest already. XCARD failed in this regard.
38  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why people are buying when the price is going up and not when it is down on: August 08, 2020, 08:30:06 PM
I notice that when there the price is going up so many people are joining the train and they also buy because the price is going up and they are going to make a profit, why people are not buying when it is down when the price will eventually go up and they can make a lot of profit.  Huh

This is so true, people FOMO in when price spike and some do not even check TA to know good entry. Meanwhile, people begin to dump massively or in another case, stop loss/limit orders go to the order book when prices fall, hence more dump. It's not totally wrong to buy when prices are going up, but that should be immediately after a breakout or after a breakout and retest of resistance turned support. However, best time to buy coins is at dips, but entries matter and also reason for the dump should be considered don't get it twisted. You don't just buy a coin because it's dipping, hoping it pumps, what if they exit scam and people started to dump?
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which is safer, USDT or Binance USD? on: August 08, 2020, 07:19:09 PM
I'm going to deposit some money into Binance Lending, i find BUSD's interest rate is 1% higher than USDT. Which one is better?

It's crystal clear that BUSD yields better interest rate on Binance lending, now I don't understand the reason for asking which is better again? Just go for BUSD if you actually want to take part in Binance lending, but if it's for other purposes, then USDT obviously has higher volumes and Liquidity across several exchanges and has been in existence before BUSD.
40  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm dumping my coins because.. on: August 07, 2020, 09:33:32 PM
I'm usually patient with coins I invest in or get from Bounty, but once the team is not performing well as expected, I have no reasons holding the coins long term. So it's all about product development, marketing and all it takes to achieve project aim. Or if I spot red flags showing team is not genuine or do not care about the community, I dump their coins to invest in better projects.
