Does anyone else have a problem where miner just shuts down, no error no nothing, just closes ?
Yes I get that from time to time on Windows 10 ... it's down to overclocking usually. I lower core and memory clocks by 5 and restart. If the problem doesn't repeat itself then I have a stable rig, otherwise I lower again until it is. Sometimes I'll increase the TDP as well. ... it's all about tuning your rig for the best watt/hash performance.

Installed dstm v054 on my best Windows 1080ti rigs - so far so good - will let them work overnight.
I've been on dstm for 4 weeks now, much more stable than EWBF, running Nvidia 1070 and 1080ti rigs without issues. At least it has an active developer ... EDIT: Hoping it makes its way to SMOS soon.

baikal sells ASIC hardware at high price sometime (Giant+), and at low price sometime (Giant X10)...
Has anyone been quoted a price on these by Baikal? I sent an email but haven't had a reply ...

They actually use Colorful boards, which are like $40 in bulk, and server PSU's that cost them 50$ with the breakout and cables, a 40$ CPU's with a 30$ stick of RAM, so their total systems costs them $160. Cant beat that price and efficiency, and it sure beats a 12/13/19 GPU build in stability.
Ah, my bad ... not an Asrock board then. $160 isn't a bad price, wonder what they get the GPUs for in a bulk purchase - dealing direct with the manufacturer ... prices we can only dream of

This sort of idea caught my eye a while back, it's not too dissimilar to the way Genesis Mining build their rigs: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FUs3Z1z0TvALooks like they are using Asrock Pro BTC boards with their own custom software/os on USB stick.

Yep, gotta love it ... for the 4th year in a row I'll be moving a few rigs into the office ... this year they will be 4-card 1080ti rigs - they are quiet and throw out quite a bit of heat. ... a heater that earns you money

I had a similar problem a while back ... the only way I got all cards back was to add them to the system ONE by ONE.
Yes, it takes ages, but connect card 1 ... start the system and check its recognised, if all OK, shutdown, add the second card and restart. Etc ... until hopefully all cards are back online.
EDIT: Make sure you are using the latest BIOS for the MOBO.

Well I'm sold on this miner, 3 days and very stable once I got my 'clocks adjusted and right. Would love to see this as an available miner on SimpleMining OS

I tried SMOS a good many months ago and it didn't quite hit the spot for me, however I've been back on it for a few days (especially as I have more rigs now) and getting on well ... I only have Nvidia cards.
Sorry if this has been covered before, but are there any plans to add nvOC miner by fullzero to the Nvidia version?
(Maybe there is a technical/dev reason why it isn't already there?)

Well I've been testing this today, and like many others I like it, certainly faster than EWBF - nice work DSTM - Thanks! Only one rig is playing up, saying 'Application zm.exe has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware' ... I'll tweak Afterburner and see what happens. I don't go for the fastest settings with full-on power, but settings that give a good bang per watt. ZOTAC 1080ti 11gb 4-card Rig: 63% Power +240 Core Clock -229 Memory Clock 70% Fans = Average 2600 sols @ 702w at the wall ZOTAC 1070 8gb Mini 5-card Rig: Power: 64% Core Clock: +225 Memory Clock: -220 55% Fans = Average 2065 sols @ 568w at the wall Happy to have ditched EWBF for a faster miner with an active developer

how can you run 14 GTX cards with Windows 10 ?
I'm not, I'm running 14 rigs x5 cards each.
|
|
|
Rig 1: 7x ASUS STRIX 1080 Ti: EWBF: 690 Sol/s in Average dstm: 720-740 Sol/s in Average
Rig 2: 7x ASUS STRIX 1080 Ti: EWBF: 687 Sol/s in Average dstm: 705-720 Sol/s
DSTM wins
That's a nice improvement for sure ... I'm off to give this a try (Win10) ... over my 14 rigs this could make quite a difference

I have a 'mining room' where I keep my rigs, at one end are 4 open holes with exterior cowl covers and filters to stop debris, they are at ground level to allow cooler air in ... and at the other end I have a large fan pulling the heat out. Works well for me. The intake end is around 7-8 degrees C cooler than the extractor end.

I believe you need to enable 3G decoding in the BIOS.... I have run into these issues myself.
You should power the molex on the board, and the risers if you have any. Its good practice. Do not daisy chain them, remember, you are pushing up to 75W per card through the PCIE connector.
Thanks, I couldn't find a setting for 3G, but powering the board via the molex seems to have done the trick. I've not had a board where I've had to do this before, the other x8 Asrock R2.0 Pro BTC boards work flawlessly with just powered risers.

Been a while since I posted, life has been busy, taken ages to catch-up with these threads, nice going all.
I need some advice from a Biostar TB250-BTC Pro MB user as I’m not having fun … hoping someone may have a pointer … I’m trying to get five Zotac 1070 8gb Minis to run … Updated to the latest BIOS, installed Win10 Pro. Mining mode is enabled and PCI set to Gen 2. All goes fine with two GPUs, but when I add a further one (or two) it hangs, doesn’t boot and all I get to look at is a nice blank screen. The PSU is an EVGA 1000w and I’m using powered risers along with 8mb ram and a M2 slot SSD.
I’ve read/found many different set-ups for these boards that I’m hoping someone might have an idea. Some say you need to power the molex connector on the board by the PCIe sockets, and others rave about how plug and play they are on one PSU.
Well … I’ve certainly plugged … and had a play … but no luck. I expect I’ve done everything except what is actually required!
Suggestions or real life experience info welcome!

team viewer, im use it for control my mining rig
Yep, same here - used TeamViewer for over a year now on all my rigs, saved me a LOT of hassle. They support Windows, Linux and many more operating systems.

just saw this on Amazon... Sapphire RX470 4GB selling for USD$599 .... OMG!
Yep, the RX cards are fetching a pretty premium at the moment. I've sold over 10 cards this week at a very healthy profit over their original cost, let alone what they mined, especially through the ETH bubble a few weeks back. All were ROId a while back. I decided to reinvest in Zotac 1070 minis given the low power consumption and the different algos they can mine. ... just need to find the minis in stock (I already have a few) ... and for a reasonable price! Most UK retailers are doing pre-orders for end of August delivery.

I've been mining ZEC straight to Poloniex for ages, and now they have disabled ZEC deposits and withdrawals because of Dev issues. A warning would have been nice ... now I have to wait until they sort it out and 3 days of mining is stuck in the system

1. ZEC pools have become so unreliable and slow in payments and confirmation - name me one good ZEC pool that doesnt struggle on getting and confirming blocks esp during network lags etc.
I've not had any problems with Flypool, been there for weeks and regular payments come through every few hours, straight to a Jaxx wallet. BTC transactions though have been VERY slow at times the past week ... one transaction took 3 days to confirm. I would agree that consistent selling behavior will continue for ZEC ... mine ... sell ... mine ... sell, but hell there's profit to be had and it helps pay the power bills. Shifted a few older cards recently and reinvested in more 1080ti cards, have a PALIT GeForce GTX 1080 TI Founders Edition 11 GB arriving tomorrow, got it for a good price ... not played with one of those before
