22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Flexcoin Invites on: July 31, 2011, 02:56:13 AM
There's always enough to make interest payments.    Bitcoins can be divided to fractions of fraction of a fraction...

Regarding the advice that some people provided.

Now after 5 failed attempts at logins it disables you for a period of time...    That was suggested yesterday and I wanted you guys to know that we're taking your advice seriously... and implementing it.

We're also going to increase max password length...  and invites will be removed either by end of night tonight or tomorrow AM (EST) ...   Meaning that it's going to be open to everyone...

So for instance if I know what is you account and fail 5 times at providing a valid authentication, we both get banned for a bit?

Pakistan will possibly be unable to join the Bitcoin rallies.\

Many articles written in other languages have been a barrier to see what is going on.

Can anyone translate when they pop up?

This may be off topic, but I just switched my primary PayPal currency from USD to CAD.  I received a 1:1 exchange rate.  This is insulting, since the Canadian dollar is above the USD almost 5%.   That's a lot of "service fees" to pay for a simple one time exchange.  Sad

Why do you still have it open?

Why the bitcoin is no substitute for credit cards
http://blog.instabill.com/index.php/2011/07/29/bitcoin-no-substitute-for-credit-cards

(
Instabill pimping themselves over bitcoin by pushing some tired old misinformation regarding the mtgox flash crash, as well as this FUD gem:

"Because bitcoins are computer-generated, it is possible to create counterfeit coins."

)

Can anyone explain to me why this guys pop up? They don't even know what a file is for the flying spaghetti monster sake.

27  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crazy Land Rush on: July 30, 2011, 12:28:37 AM
Just requested one... Haven't read much about flexcoin yet but what ensures it's security over any other escrow service?

Everything is encrypted with high grade encryption, salted.. etc etc..  Comodo "green bar" SSL, firewalled...  We had it audited by a bank auditing company.  It exceeds banking compliance standards. The main site is just a standard http .. the banking area (on a differing server cluster) goes to the secure system.

Is it foolproof?  No.

Many of you guys know the only "100% secure  system" is one that is physically unplugged and turned off...   and like any website on earth it can be brought down by DDOS attack....   but it does exceed what many would consider "normal security" or even "high grade security".

I threw the entire weight of my company,  Yooter InterActive Marketing ( http://www.yooter.com )  into it... we normally do design, SEO for fortune 100 firms.    It's most likely the first corporate backed bitcoin startup.

As a beginner in the Security Field I have to voice concern over the cap on characters I can use as a password. This is seriously flawed.

Also, looks like I am not the only one. >_>

Tongue

What about the file as a whole?(The exe with the fake and the virii)

Also, lets flag the bitch up.

Googling around more info on the subject gave me this:
http://www.hackforums.net/member.php?action=profile&uid=54808
A scam report disclosed his email/msn
Popc0rn-xsubter@live.com
Which yield more results
https://twitter.com/#!/popc0rnftw
http://www.sythe.org/showthread.php?t=843802
And found this: http://dazzlepod.com/lulzsec/final/?email=live.com&page=2 - Entry 50322

Due to the similarity between names I tried several combos against Facebook and found this:
https://www.facebook.com/popc0rn -> Vincent Zuo due to the info in the page it makes me believe he is not involved in any of this.
Looks like the email address is not registered with Facebook.

More to come.

Let's see how things went:

1. PayPal cuts off Wikileaks
2. Anonymous rallies people to target PayPal with LOIC DDoS
3. ...
4. People start getting arrested
5. Anonymous calls for people to cancel their Paypal accounts

How it should've been done:

1. PayPal cuts off Wikileaks
2. Anonymous calls for people to cancel their Paypal accounts

Major difference!
I don't think you realize how Anonymous works, or that the people involved in step 5 are most likely not the same people as those in step 2.

I totally knew that they, the gov and police, had  busted anonymous. This is just bullshit for the masses. Since anonymous was busted this new anonymous now will be known as Larry.

Other than that I see that Bitcoin is indeed getting a lot of mention in OpPayPal, I am just retweeting everything I find of quality. It is very important to RT. :p

Most likely the path is hardcoded, what would be interesting to find out is if it also has some authentication hardcoded and we can mess with that, ex. change the password and rm -rf / the bitch.

Also, my heart is crying over such a stupid interface when you could have had only one fucking button. D:<

AS stated, the official file is too big for Google Maps and won't read it.

Another version was made available with all the version and port information gone to save space.

37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Republic Of Bitcoin on: July 27, 2011, 03:03:38 PM
What would happen if one of those Third world countries based their currency on bitcoin?

Or how about a Virtual On-line Republic with Bitcoin as their Currency?

Just a though

I like the idea, but bitcoin would have to become physical first.

Not possible, though nowadays even in the low areas of Mexico many kids have cellphones and even smarthphones.

http://boe.es/boe/dias/2011/07/27/pdfs/BOE-A-2011-12909.pdf
