800 years later you might get a dollar. Suckers born everyday I guess.
23  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGOX: Check your balances on their website on: March 18, 2014, 03:20:30 AM
Is there really a possibility some of these people are actually going to get some of their money back? Say 500,000 coins are outstanding and they only have 50,000 in a wallet. How do they decide who gets what?
This whole thing is a damn shame. Feel terrible for everyone that lost money.

24  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: MTGOX: Check your balances on their website on: March 18, 2014, 03:17:10 AM
I just tried using 100% valid credentials and I got an invalid username and password. Guess they disabled 2fa somehow?!? This doesn't smell right. The only reason I did it is because it's a password specifically for this one exchange that is in no way used else where and the balance was in the low 0.00's
25  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info Down on: March 18, 2014, 12:15:54 AM
Just cause it's insured means you can no longer give a shit? You do realize somewhere somebody pays for that right? Fucking people irritate me to no end when they say don't worry it's insured. That's why fees are so fucking expensive these days. Don't leave your fiat lying around, don't give your card to strangers, and limit your risk dealing with exchanges.
26  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info Down on: March 17, 2014, 11:31:13 PM
People don't feel comfortable transferring to an exchange for a few minutes to conduct business but will hand a waitress or waiter their credit card for 20 minutes waiting for the bill. There's risk everywhere you go in the financial industry. Just do your homework and don't be lazy.
27  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mtgox stolen coins for sale????? on: March 17, 2014, 10:56:25 PM
You are to your own knowledge buying others peoples stolen property, that's a crime in any country.
no
First. I didn't know these were stolen coins
Second. We still don't know if they are really stolen, I'm just speculating here, I'm just wondering who would sell hundreds of thousands of bitcoins sub 300?
Third. if it's really a theft what do you want me to do? send back the 50 btc and don't get the cash back? so that the hacker will be able to sell more bitcoins to other people?
you are trying to accuse me but I can't do anything in this situation anymore
the only thing I can is denounce the username of the guy and the irc channel to authorities, but I'm not sure because :
- do you think authorities will care? bitcoin isn't a currency in my country and I can't tell I was scammed because I did receive the coins
- the hacker was probably hiding with tor or something or using an infected computer

What a cute method to scam people that you made up here. Roll Eyes
I don't sell bitcoins, reread the post, someone sold me these!

I carefully read your post. My guess is that you try to get people to buy from this IRC contact which is a sockpuppet of you. Wink
no I am not that is why I will not disclose irc details and username of the guy, I will only give that to authorities or people who are able to do something about it

I'd bet my second born son that you are under 16 years old and a massive attention whore.
28  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Blockchain.info Down on: March 17, 2014, 10:53:19 PM
I'm sure / hope you are right.

Its probably down to my inability to pick stable companies to deal with! I thought with the likes of Andreas at the helm of Blockchain.info it would be bomb proof Smiley

Ive been Goxxed, and im nervous maybe Smiley

I need to relax!

Nervous about what exactly?

newbies are complaining in several threads and it smells like a smear

I had to become a "newbie" here so I could explain my case to all,  and as a last resort to recover my funds.
I did not have any other choice after waiting since last December for answers and a solution from CampBX staff to my issue.

A "smear"? Not in my case.
If anybody is interested, I can document everything about my case.
My BTC deposits to CampBX, my buying of dollars, my successful withdrawals, etc.
You can easily see that there were 3 failed transfers to my Bank account that never went through and were never returned to my CampBX account.

I did contact Mr Keyur via a PM on this forum about 2 monts ago, before going public.
He responded promptly and assured me to see my case immediately:
Quote
"I have asked treasurer to look into your ticket with urgency and we will resolve it before tomorrow AM."
That was 2 months ago...  Undecided
See more about my case here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=514176.0

It is not my intention to tarnish anybody's reputation "just for fun", but what do you do after over 3 months of your issue being ignored and not resolved?
By shutting up and taking it, I'm not helping myself or anybody else. Unfortunately I had to speak out.

Yes, I am a newbie here but I'm also a real person that has been affected by CampBX unresponsiveness to customer problems and have lost real money because of it.
I lost hope from recuperating any of my loss from CampBX, so take whatever suits you from my experience and hope it helps anybody.

Regards to all from a real "newbie",

When's the last time you attempted to contact them? Do you have support ticket numbers? Maybe I can try to contact them on your behalf to give you a hand. There's got to be a miscommunication about this. I'd be glad to give up some of my personal time to give you a hand man.

It's got to be a staffing issue. HAS to be. Is there documentation about money not being returned or is this just word of mouth schenanigans? I know he's bent over backwards for that exchange and has always tried to stay a step above on the financial regulations. I would state my reputation on Keyur not running a scam exchange. Slow customer service though? I don't know because I've never had any problems.
31  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: ****** CampBX Contact/Ownership Info, Etc For Those Being Ignored ****** on: March 16, 2014, 02:43:32 AM
Here's what I can add. A lot of the campbx posts complaining of scams are a majority of newbies. Is there a real problem here? Not sure but these newbies are complaining in several threads and it smells like a smear. What I can attest to is that I've traded hundreds of BTC with campbx over the last few years and haven't had a single problem. Not one. I've always preferred campbx because Keyur has always put himself out there. I met him face to face at the bitcoin convention a few years back in manhattan. I know 100% without a single doubt this is his true name as well. I know this because I bought him a place ticket to come to New Orleans for a business meeting. Maybe they're a little sluggish but I would be ABSOLUTELY blown away if campbx was involved in any scam of any form.

Go ahead and keep letting the newbies post and create threads. Tired of bitching about it. Don't care anymore

Bullshit flag
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BCBB? Bitcoin Business Bureau? on: March 11, 2014, 11:43:30 AM
Should we institute something like the Better Business Bureau for Bitcoin companies?

Companies sign up on the BCBB website and allow users to post any problems they have had with the company along with any resolutions.

The company pays the site for accreditation, users get to check out a company before using them and the decent companies get more users.

(I would say just go with BBB but they are not international, and they may not understand how Bitcoin companies work)

Love it

38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the wise decisions made by Satoshi? on: March 10, 2014, 04:12:05 AM
I am trying to list the wise the decisions made by Satoshi. Can you help me list some more?

  • He used two rounds of hashing in the nonce finding process so as minimize the risk of SAT solving the nonce at higher difficulties
  • He used the elliptic curves which were luckily not the problematic curves suggested NSA
  • He made the transaction scripting language non-Turing complete so as to avoid very hard to detect security risks (like escaping the interpreter to root the underlying OS and weird cases of halting problem like having an SPV client embedded in the transaction script)
  • He made the Bitcoin divisible into 100 million satoshis so as to avoid the Capitol Hill Babysitting Cooperative problem with deflationary currencies.
  • His initial code release was remarkably free of buffer overflows, and other security vulnerabilities

I'm trying to figure out why you aren't posting from your main.
Just curious.
39  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: IP of a hacker and thief on: March 10, 2014, 02:19:44 AM
Most residential lines are DHCP not static so a history search will probably just waste your time. If you truly have their IP then you have a good legal foot to stand on.
40  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: IP of a hacker and thief on: March 10, 2014, 02:14:51 AM
The first thing I would do is a police report man.

After reading it again you said you are pursuing a subpoena. Guess that means you already did. I read it kinda fast. Sorry for your troubles man. Keep it clean and legal. Let your attorney and the authorities take care of it for you.
