Imagine being on a video call and everyone interacting with you are fake?

At first I don't believe this until later on, a guy from my local Crypto WhatsApp group lost close to 18k in dollars to scammers, this is a guy who have been a victim of some past scams and jave learned from it all, thinking he has passed been scammed until now.

He is into startup projects just like I am, using Seedify, Decubate, Ape terminal and others, he is an investor of a newly launched project who have raised some money and they are planning their second fundraising, the team came for him, and to confuse him they use video.

Imagine talking to the CEO of a favorite crypto project that you liked, including two extra team members on video call, and they managed to confuse you that they are picking few numbers of people to invest into the second seed round at a cheaper rate per token?  They got him good, he was too excited and all sense of curiosity was shut down.

Before he knew what was happening he lost everything and accused the team on telegram group only to find out that none offer existed and all seed rounds are already completed.

The scammers went online and download the pictures of the company, including every staff members, everything they can get and used Artificial intelligence to create fake videos and with fake voices they will use in the video call, I went on doing my own research amd ended up with Deep fake technologies.

Read more about deep fake technologies 👇

https://www.idenfy.com/blog/deepfake-technology/amp/

Be on the look out guys, anytime you found any CEOs or notable people online telling you to do something or sending some transactions, please do not rush, take a minute, relax and do some research first or just look away.

If you are curious, find the projects telegram group and ask questions, and post screenshots on the group, I am positive that people will stop you from getting scammed, they will be exposed to you that you are about to get scammed, sadly we have gotten to this stage only to end up having more confusing tools for scammers, all we can do is warn each other of the threats that lurk
22  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does destiny has influence in the amount we can win in gamble? on: May 17, 2024, 08:45:37 AM
I don't have a lot to say about this but one thing is very certain and it could be some part to spiritual too, some people are born to be lucky more tban others, get mad as much as you can it is what it is, you can not best these types of people, where you struggle to beat they will triumph because they are the lucky ones, you just have accept it as fact and choose peace.

Still, I doubt if these born lucky can be fortunate enough in everything, getting lucky in gambling is one thing and getting lucky when danger lurks is another, like I know a story of a man who have escaped death 8 times, i meant the death that is almost impossible to survive, we called him the lucky man.

This same man might have bad luck when it comes to gambling, which is why some people believe that everyone's luck is different from others, your luck could be to cheat death, your luck could be to have a blessed life than others, your luck could be to grow older than most people etc.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is going to happen Biden orders remove of Chinese-owned crypto Miner? on: May 17, 2024, 07:03:48 AM
But what the president is doing i don't think, is going to end well with Chinese this is going to affect their business over there and more people. Even if they move out crypto at missile base it'll surely not change anything cause the Chinese crypto are really helping out there. I don't know what's your opinion towards this? Or maybe the Chinese are trespassing?

The mining facility is close to a US Air Force Base that houses intercontinental ballistic missiles. No country will want a political and military enemy to be close to such a sensitive facility. The location of this Chinese crypto-mining firm is a security threat to the US because they can easily collect sensitive information or even carry out an attack. My reservation is that didn't the land authority know that MineOne was a Chinese mining firm before the land was allocated to them. Now they are putting pressure on the crypto firm to relocate within 120 days.

Sounds like a national security issue.

But because they just want to relocate the mining farm, they may still be in the US. The first reason why they came to the US was because there was a crackdown in China during that time. Now that China seems to loosen its belt and even approve the ETFs in Hong Kong, I think the miners will likely be going back to China.
They should go back to china, all this while now is the time that these Chinese people will start spying on the military bases? Good one Biden, they should have investigated them or kept a close watch on them first before making this decision.

This shouldn't be so hard for the country to do because they can do anything i believe, they have all the right tools they will need, it would make more sense if they spy on these mining company and caught them in the act.

I personally believe that Biden is making this up, this mining company have been there for long already, and this point is all about guesse still, for all these while there should be some proof already.

If you hate Trump so much, Biden isn't better, there are others you can vote for, like Kennedy Jr.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Donald Trump's stance on Bitcoin is changing, the Trump pump is beginning on: May 17, 2024, 05:42:21 AM
I have no problem with Biden if not for his strictness with crypto adopters in the United States

I am into mining myself and I know how important is every tinny hashrate you can add up, Biden forcing Bitcoin miners to pay up to 30% tax is not a good calling IMO, I care about Bitcoin miners and this man is trying to make things harder for them.

Upon the profit ratio of mining Bitcoin today, it is almost so unprofitable to mine even with cheap electricity.

Also Biden doesn't seem to have a good mind for crypto, they want to kill it, imagine saying that Bitcoin mining is a threat to the national security of the country? I believe he doesn't know what Bitcoin is, he just wanted it gone, the same agenda that Warren wanted.

I know that Trump is not so pure, but every politicians are dirty, even in my own country, the president right now was once a drug lord and he was never trial or anything, no one is clean to be honest.
25  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin mining on a laptop in 2024 on: May 16, 2024, 03:13:11 PM
please tell me, is it now possible to mine satoshi using a laptop?
Try using NiceHash, 2Miners or unmineable.com.
You will mine other coins, but you will be able to receive rewards in bitcoins and other coins from the list of possible ones. Mining on a laptop is not profitable right now, but if you want to try it for learning, then do it.

They have a payout threshold though, OP needs to hit the range before he can be able to withdraw Bitcoin, I think with a laptop it will take forever unless it is a higher end laptop with RTX graphics card because even with the world fastest graphics cards you will be making $1 per day, it sucks this bad.

Also OP expect your laptop to get very very hot, and do not blame anyone if the next day your laptop won't turn on, because laptops are not created to handle this crazy power usage around the clock, I suggest a better cooling method for the laptop and also do not use it to mine 24/7 per day.

I know someone who mined 19 million Shiba inu using Unmineable platform, so yes it is doable using a graphics card and getting paid in BTC.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I was holding on to Ledger and I got robbed on: May 16, 2024, 02:28:48 PM
Crypto transactions can't be recovered if they have been sent already and much worse if it's gone through an exchange because the hacker have already withdrawn that.

Your seed cannot be emptied. It's possible that the source where you've purchased it that your seed were pre-seeded/generated already.

What? Is this even possible? Every new hardware wallet came emptied, and every first users are the one to generate new wallet seed, I haven't used Ledger wallet before but I have the same experience running Trezor and Keystone..

Normally Ledger is bad hardware wallet, because they are closed source and many bad things have happened in the past concerning Ledger wallet, I will never advice anyone close to me to buy this hardware wallet.

OP I am sorry for your loss, there is no way to get your assets back and it is not too late to start again, this time you can decide to do it better, go for an open-source hardware wallet, better if it's air-gapped too.

Let it go, do not chase your loss and do not listen to anyone that can promise to help you get it back, it is all gone, some strangers are even using this as a scamming tactics to scam peoole who aren't ready to let go of what theyve lost, don't be a victim.
27  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why People Naturally Chase loses in gambling.. on: May 16, 2024, 08:59:07 AM
What could make people want to chase their losses? They can't afford to lose the money yet they proceed ? I think they are the type that wanted to turn gambling into source of income, it suits such people even more, don't you all think?

As crazy as this sound many people still gamble everyday to make daily income, and naturally we all struggle to control our emotions, what will these people do when they are trapped? Because eventually they will be trapped since  they are always gambling every day.

Gambling is the last thing you want to do everyday, the lesser time you spent gambling the better, because of your emotions sake and your mental health, do you know why people cant control themselves even after setting a boundary in gambling? Because they spent too much time doing it, that is where their mind will start encouraging some nonsense idea as if the next win is around the corner.
28  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is the Worst online Casino you've played on so far? on: May 16, 2024, 07:48:39 AM
None so far.

I use stake, Rollbit and Roobet.

All these three are online casinos that I started using through this forum, and they all have good reviews everywhere, I might have done it wrong if I never found this forum and searched online casinos through Google search engine.

I do not need to use more than 3 online casinos, these three fill my gambling desires all the time, and I rotate only when I gamble for too long with no win.

The worst online casino experience must be getting scammed of your money or winning and not being able to withdraw, like many complaints from those who use 1xbet and 1xbit which I believe are from the same scammers.
29  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your slices Luck that would have made you millionaire in gambling? on: May 16, 2024, 06:58:55 AM
You feel like there is something after you; some believe that there is some kind of special and spiritual connection that casino owners use to stop people from winning and also manipulate their minds to never stop betting until they are exhausted.

Well, many people feel that way too, but I consider it to be a means by which all these failed gamblers use it as an excuse to protect themselves from the shame they might have been feeling if they admitted to the fact that they fall under the category of irresponsible gamblers.

Gambling is made to make them feel this way, they have to feel like this because they lack the knowledge about what luck is all about, if it is this easy to make money everyone would be rich in this world and the fact is luck doesn't always come knocking at the door, it is only a reasonable person that will understand this, it is meant to be hard to make money, just because it is gambling doesn't mean it should be easy.

You will likely put yourself in a hard position if you keep thinking that it should be easy to become a millionaire through gambling, it means you are not ready to face reality, so keep living in your dream until gambling takes it all from you, remember, you are the am looking for the impossible.

Casinos are not casting spells on people, they rely on the game of luck to win, and this is a good side to pick because gamblers can't keep winning and winning, it is a must to lose a lot of money if you are not a responsible gambler, this is the way it is when it comes to luck you have only one percent chance to win out of 10.

Gamblers are not thinking, if you can accept what gambling is you will know that things are meant to be this way with gambling, it was never programmed to make many rich, only a few numbers of people will prevail in this field, tell me how casinos won't make a fortune out of people? It is so obvious.
30  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Kucoin suspended P2P in Nigeria on: May 15, 2024, 05:56:19 PM
You haven't seen anything yet, even if the government will come up with its own platforms to trade the tax will not be nice, is this even the solution?

These exchanges are not even decentralised exchanges why won't the p2p service get destroyed ? It is obvious nah.

The solution will be a no man's land Dex exchange that deals with only P2P, no team to approach, no email to send letters to, etc, this is the only way we can be saved.
31  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Martingale strategy is a failure if you are consistent with it on: May 15, 2024, 03:18:29 PM
I love roulettes because it is very easy to play and I see it relaxing. I bet with $3.5 yesterday using martingale strategy as I want to see what the outcome would be, I was able to win $6. $6 to $9 but it will go down to $3 until I won $10.  From $10 back to $6 until I won $13. Later I won $18. I played 5 consecutive times without winning at all and I lost the whole money. If won any among the 5 times selections, I would have increased it to back $18 or to $25. It was a boring day for me, I enjoyed the game, I wish to play more but I do not want to lose more money.

There is always another day, I like how you use a small amount of money to give this a try, this is what I expect from a fellow responsible gambler, now that the money is gone it feels like a small loss in exchange for some time well spent.

If you risked more you would have a different feeling right now, the smaller the money the better the feeling, either loss or win, also I would have taken my profit, this I know have saved me countless times when gambling.

The end result of continued gambling is losses after losses, when win comes it is time to take a leave, this was how I lost 0.5BTC that I won on freebitco some years ago, since I hit this amount after a few tries I thought it would keep happening until I lost everything.

You are to stop when the amount is over your bankroll, being greedy is what the casino hoped for, I never forget this.
32  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you prefer the crypto online gambling or regular fiat casinos gambling? on: May 15, 2024, 09:45:49 AM
No, I prefer gambling with cryptocurrencies because it's more suitable for me and I don't have to share my card details with casinos neither my KYC details. I also try my best to avoid casino that ask for KYC details, in fact with the amounts that I use for gambling, I don't think it's necessary to get KYC verified.

Those who are high rollers should think about KYC verification but the ones who gamble for fun with $100 to $1000 should not worry much about KYC I think. OP I know you are someone who prefers to gamble with fiat but for me it's out of question to go with fiat.

Same here, it is my little secret to be able to gamble using crypto coins instead of my credit or debit card, I like the privacy sense of thing when gambling compared to offline gambling.

KYC details seem not necessary but it is for those running a casino, because people have their ways to embezzlement dirty money these days and casinos are one of those ways to use dirty money to get clean money, the government is aware of those schemas that's why online casinos must be regulated and been regulated means they will as for verifications.

Also there is nothing wrong with using Fiat to gamble unless you have a problem with people seeing you as a gambler, or others like how some betting locations behave after you win a large amount of money.
33  Other / Politics & Society / Don't get it twisted on: May 15, 2024, 08:21:17 AM
My friends and I were having discussions about the upcoming US election and one of them said that if Trump is elected there will be many more scams in crypto space, and I can't help but think about how many people will be thinking the same, especially those who are new to crypto.

Just because Trump said he is supporting crypto doesn't mean there will be no further crackdown on crypto or there will be no regulations, Trump never said that everyone is free to do what they like because he will be the new president.

Regulating crypto is one thing and making crypto space a living hell for crypto adopters is another, this is what Biden wants to do, and that is why I will advise people to vote for another instead of Biden, Bitcoin miners can't even breathe in the US right now.

So don't get it twisted, if Trump gets elected as the new president it won't erase regulations in the crypto space,
34  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did gambling losses are traps to new game on: May 15, 2024, 07:12:07 AM
When I had meet my friends last Sunday,We had discussed about this topic. We are friends based on our gambling interest and all of us are the gamblers.I had already mentioned about my friend who loss 2k in this below thread also take part in our meeting.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5493038.0

He keep on playing the gambling with some loans from our friends circle to manage the 2000 dollars previous loss. But the result is both positive and negative based on his luck. One of my gambling friend said this “Gambling losses are the traps for the gamblers to get into gambling again.”He added when the gambling loss was increases, most of us will do the gambling to recover the old loss.Because no one earning money without work,So our wish will be to balance the old losses in the gambling site.Share your opinion on this.

With my experience,I had use to win and loss based on the time I am playing the game.If I had the gambling at the sleeping mood, most of the time.I had loss the capital money in the gambling site. The winning also depends upon the gambling experience, many gamblers use to play the game based on the game experience. But some gamblers think the gambling was based on the luck,So they only do the random betting in the gambling site. The reason for most of the loss in the gambling sites are repeating the same algorithm in the gambling site after the gambling site change their algorithm to the game.

Did you guys trust on gambling algorithms or do the random betting in the gambling site to check the current luck in the gambling sites…

The thing is, gambling expectations will always get people wrecked, if you have this crazy expectation that gambling will bring you fortune you have simply traded your possible dream for the impossible, for me gambling is not the place for me to look for that high amount that can sustain me for years in life.

I could get this result but I am not expecting it, that is why I will look forward to enjoying my games instead of looking forward to becoming a millionaire from gambling, when you start seeing people going for loans all because of gambling then they are not in their right senses anymore..

There is a way to check the fairness of the game if you think that the casino is resorting to manipulation, you never blame the casinos when you're losing you understand that the house has an edge, and you agreed to play with it, with a reputable platform they do not use a trap because everything lies within your choice to play and bet and you decide on everything you do, casinos are game of luck there is no algo to follow like the martingale.
Martingale is newbie alibis while they are losing when they think it's a proven algo to win a game when, in fact, it's not.
If you can be good with small amount of money profit and if you win ones in a day you will not gamble for that day again, you can go for 3 odd games and go for martingale for like $25. In any stage that you win, you stop gambling for the day. You can start with $1, then 3, then 9, then $18 and the last is $25. If you win only ones, you will stop gambling. I guess you should be able to win at least one time out of 5 times. But it is dangerous.
It's easier said than done. I mean, as a gambler, do you have that kind of discipline or strong discipline that you will stop after a few games? I think not, because gamblers will not be satisfied until they play numerous games or sessions. The most effective way in order to minimise the losses or for the gambler not to become too addicted is that they play numerous games or sessions. The most effective way in order to minimise the losses or for the gambler not to become too addicted is that it will set a limit. For example, if I'm not based on the number of games, but on how much funds or capital I have allocated for the day, I have a rule that if I lose all that allocated money, then I will stop playing no matter what, and if I somehow win and I notice that I either doubled or quite earn half of my capital, then I will also stop even if I'm in the momentum.

That is you man, the reasons why we all gamble is different, if you can't get a hold of yourself when gambling then it is YOU, I have seen a lot before I start gambling, I can still see a brother who was once a popular person in my street and gambling turned everything around for him, till this day he isn't balanced yet, it's easier said than done? Say it again.

Fear of gambling addiction is the beginning of wisdom, been a responsible gambler is not even that hard but what you believe in is what will determine if you can control yourself or not.
35  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can i bet 5-10k on a single bet anywhere? on: May 14, 2024, 12:57:24 PM
Hello guys, im browsing the gambling section on the forums, i bet on soccer from time to time, 1x2, whenever i try to bet more then 200-300$ on a single bet they limit me, so im wondering, if there is a safe platform that i can bet 1-2-5k$ per bet on soccer, that will pay me out in the end Cheesy

If someone helps me find it, ill tip him $50 Smiley

Your safe platform idea sounds like a guaranteed winning platform.

If that's what you are looking for I am sorry to disappoint you, there is no online casino that will give you safe bet, that depends on your luck.

Mind you, I feel like 2k to 5k is too much for a bet, what are you trying to become? A millionaire? Ask yourself if you can afford to lose this same amount? That is a lot, this is the amount that six figures earners use to risk on investments and gambling because they are earning six figures every month..

Make sure you cut your clothes according to your size or you will have sad stories to share later I pray this won't be your portion, so make sure you risk only what you can afford to lose.

if you are looking for trusted online casinos Rollbit is a good place to start, you can risk high or low amount but consider safety gambling first, it is only responsible gamblers that have good stories to share not the greedy ones.
36  Economy / Gambling / Re: TonPoker - Telegram Poker Room on: May 14, 2024, 09:37:40 AM
Can someone please tell me more about the telegram wallet?

1. I want to know if the wallet gives new users any private keys or recovery seeds.

2. I also want to know if you lost your mobile wallet that you use to register the telegram you also lost access to the wallet?

Because if mobile numbers is the only backup for every telegram users then it is a dumb thing to trust, many people will lose their assets when attackers see that many people are using Ton assets.

Also the attacks will be much easier compared to crypto wallets with private keys and recovery seeds.
37  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cautious of the Web on open source on: May 14, 2024, 07:37:19 AM
I think you meant CEX usually or always doesn't show their source code to the public
But some DEX do.

here is the link and what are scammers going to gain from lying about the accessibility of their source code?

I get it now so you talking about the web3 wallet which is a completely different wallet than the Trust wallet and most of the exchanges don't have an open-source code for the web3 wallet including Binance and OKX.

Or maybe I can't just find any on Github?

I am using OKX web 3 wallet to access my tokens in my hardware wallet, I believe it is not a open source wallet either.

OP at first I thought Bitget as a similar crypto wallet, maybe that was what you are talking about but I was wrong, Bitget has no wallet and that makes it a centralized exchange, they can never be open source lol.

Even if it says it is open source it doesn't mean it is, can you see their codes to check out of it is truly open source? Many companies in the crypto space are using open source as a way to attract people who can't verify open source or closed source.

There is never going to be a crypto exchange with open source because of security reasons, most of them will always be centralised and the others are decentralized, but these aren't saying they can be open source.
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Did you start investing in bitcoin because of some celebrity ? on: May 14, 2024, 06:30:22 AM
Who would have thought that some Celebs will be talking about Bitcoin later? I did it when everything was cold and uncertain, because the utility of Bitcoin caught my attention, I never even knew that Bitcoin can be so profitable if held, my first plan was to use Bitcoin like a bank because it is decentralized.

Until later when I dig deeper, if celebes are the one telling you to invest in Bitcoin then you are not completely confused that Bitcoin is for you, and i just because Bitcoin is good doesn't mean it is meant for you, we are all humans with different mindsets.

As good as Bitcoin is many people see no need to have it, they are better off not having Bitcoin or getting involved in crypto, I have a big brother who doesn't care even when he has a lot of spare money he could have used to buy Bitcoin.

To make it worthwhile you need a good reason for accepting Bitcoin into your life, not because of some Celeb told you so.
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where are you hyper focus, online casinos or physical casinos on: May 13, 2024, 04:25:36 PM
I don't think there is a topic created about this, so I'm creating one.

Physical casinos do not have clocks or windows on the gaming floor, and they offer free drinks like wine energy drinks, and food so the gamblers will be hyper focused this is why gamblers spend hours without even knowing they have already spent, while online casinos offer free spins, rakeback, and cashback so you can continue to play to level up to enjoy these perks.

So between the two where are you more hyper-focused and how many hours do you spend on one compared to the other?

Sincerely, I don't do physical casinos, I only walked past them every morning when going to work years ago and that is how I always know that some people are into gambling and their numbers are growing, but I can say that not all physical casinos lack windows, some do have windows.

In a country where electricity is not even stable, and the economy is hard, why won't they have a space where fresh air can go through? Unless it is an underground casino that is not registered, and illegal casinos are not good even for the gamblers, because when there is a raid you are not innocent even if you are just a gambler.

If your physical casino is offering food and drinks there is a purpose behind it, coming from someone who doesn't like things like me I suspect that they are intentionally doing this for gamblers to lose their mind and do the wrong betting, whatever you choose to do, never take freebies in a casino.

I focused more on online gambling, I wouldn't be a gambler today if there is no online gambling, because I am able to become a gambler without anyone knowing, I like it this way even if somehow physical casinos are better.
40  Economy / Speculation / Re: I believe Bitcoin will surge to new heights after this dip on: May 13, 2024, 09:52:47 AM
Not only you, almost everyone believe we will see a bull season after few months dips, just take a look with the past histories.

The analyst said that Bitcoin is currently trading in a tight range and could rise to around $70,000 to $72,000 if it breaks through the $63,000 level.
I mean, 10% rise is small if we talk about Bitcoin, there's nothing surprise if Bitcoin will reach $72K, that's just a normal thing.

All eyes are now on the key data released by the United States next week that will determine the fate of Bitcoin and the cryptocurrency market.
No, the fate of Bitcoin didn't controlled by United States, there's no correlation at all. Even United States completely ban Bitcoin, there are still hundred countries accepting Bitcoin.
That is why it is even scary, since when as things come up as people think in crypto space? The opposite always happen and Bitcoin likes surprising the hoards when they least expect it, anyway there is only one way to find out, let's wait and see what happens.

I think the deeper the correction the better for the market on the long run, if Bitcoin goes back to 40k range the possible uptrend will be more bullish, and now I think the only positive thing to look up to is the coming election, Biden needs to leave the presidence for another ruler who is going to put less stress on Bitcoin and the crypto market..

I know this may not have a huge impact on Bitcoin itself but the users of Bitcoin will always be able to breath, I am talking about those in the United States, in the end Bitcoin will still do what it always do, no bad news can stop Bitcoin now it can only slow it down.
