21  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which one of those did you partake in? on: June 16, 2024, 09:51:38 AM
I am beginning to think that the only time a gambler gambles for fun is only when he gambles with what he can afford to lose. In this case, a gambler has $10,000 as his savings, and he gambles with $1000 down, he or she won't feel sad when they lose it (it means they gambled for fun). But if a gambler who has the same $10,000 gambles for above $5,000, and he loses all of them, the gambler won't be happy about his actions, and it might result in chasing of losses (which means he didn't gamble for fun). It means that both those that say they aren't gambling for fun sometimes gamble for fun, mostly when they risk an amount they can afford to lose. The actual time you gamble for fun is when you risk what you can afford to lose and not when you say you want to gamble for fun. However, a gambler might say he will gamble for fun and still end up not gambling for fun when he starts gambling. One can know a responsible gambler if he starts gambling.
Well I'm very much confused what is going one, the question is not clear enough but from what I understand generally is how to we determines a responsible gambler when they are betting already! for me once some knows how control his or her emotions then he or she is a responsible gambler.

while from you topic title I can say I'm a responsible gambler.
22  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do I need to do to achieve success here on: June 16, 2024, 09:24:58 AM
So basically I believe you're friend introduced you to this wonderful platform and he showed you everything you needed right? he showed have done everything completely by giving you the things you need success in whatever area you want to succeed with.

You can learn how to use search button to find what ever resources you want here, although it cost me nothing to drop all the links here but I don't find it convincing.

The forum is not complicated you can move around find whatever you want to know if only your are dedicated to it. Also visit Learn-me-a-bitcoin website there is a vast knowledge in there. Good luck
23  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is age a limitation in Bitcoin on: June 16, 2024, 08:50:16 AM
Bitcoin has no age limitation. I think the reason for this is that bitcoin buy sell, wallet creation is completely anonymous. No one can recognize the person behind the screen here, whether he is a boy or a girl, child or older. So I think there will be no benefit in age limitation in Bitcoin. Also Bitcoin is a decentralized currency.
Well of course there is no age limit with bitcoin for fact that bitcoin is a freedom motivated currency having an age limit will only amount to it negating it's original sharp or intention of Satoshi Nakamoto.

With the decentralised nature of bitcoin any one can do anything at any time regardless of the age. This is a solid reason why but ii is far better than our regulated fiat currencies. perhaps it serves the purposes that fiat can't offer especially in terms of age limitations.
24  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why you want to rank up in the forum? on: June 16, 2024, 06:28:51 AM
Well, if not reaching the top what then is my aim ? since I came in here I saw the sentiment with a newbies opinion and the level of regard for a legend. I think that's a trigger to strive for the highest position.

When I used the BPIP I felt so eagerness to make a reputation here because from the list in bpip, the reputation matters alot and that's why I really want to rank up and also be amongst the people that matters.

Ultimately, I would like to say to everyone new to the forum. Believe in yourself and believe in what you can achieve. In some time you will see yourself where I am.

Yes, but of course, also put in the work. We see a lot of low ranks with near-zero merit with hundreds in activity — whereas all they do is post and post just hoping to receive at least a single merit; refusing to address the actual problem — the lack of knowledge. A lot of them simply refuse to educate themselves for some reason.
Sometimes they request for dozens of resources to get knowledge but never make use of the links presented to them, this is usually my biggest sadness about such people.

How can one want to learn and at the same time don't want to learn  Huh
25  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we really fix the money @bitcoin on: June 16, 2024, 06:10:18 AM
With the definition of money, I think we do not have any such real thing as money, every currency that ever exist does not qualify to be money from the definition as long as it can't be used as an hedge to inflation. but sweet truth about bitcoin is it qualifies more to be money than the so called fiat money.

Bitcoin is the solution to the monetary system but absolutely not the solution to money instead it's the better money, bitcoin can fix the system but my question is will they allow that? I guess we all know the answer.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Concentrating heavily into BTC on: June 16, 2024, 05:52:54 AM
Few days ago we argued about some kind of percentage of altcoins that are decent and the in decent ones, where you said over 50% where decent. Of course I took a tour on your platform and I happened to me amazed with the huge number of Airdrops for coins/tokens but that kept me wondering so how many do one need to participate on? with the number of coins/token I'm confused where to go and this is one of the main reasons I have always stocked with bitcoin, causing less stress for myself.

Regardless, anyone can pick altcoins (shitcoins) and make it out with them but the current situation of this bull run in my opinion is a good reason that people should concentrate more on bitcoin, having at least 85 -90 % of their assets in bitcoin, than spread their attention in what may not end well. the 2017 bullrun is definitely different from 2024.
27  Economy / Services / Re: HB's Signature for Rent on: June 15, 2024, 04:24:15 PM
I can't over exaggerate things here but who ever wants to rent hugeblack's signature space should be reassured that he will promote them very well.
If you must know his always on first page, which is a reason why your project will be seen more, and his a reputable member with large trust especially for his work of assistance in different local boards and if anyone is wondering of qualities don't bother because before hugeblack got to this level he has 95% + quality of very thing you can think of.

Best of the best man!
28  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much do you love bitcoins? on: June 15, 2024, 04:13:47 PM
I don't know how you see bitcoin but all this questions are out of my control, why will I value something over everything in life ? like why the hell will I have to risk the life of someone dear to me because of bitcoin?

Let's not over exaggerate things here, we love bitcoin for many reasons but that we can compare to our lives, family and friends, if you do not know the value of this people in your life you are likely setting yourself up because when the unforeseen happens you will have to call on bitcoin to help you.

Let's keep the love for bitcoin but not see it as a God to worship.
29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difference between gamblers and real Bitcoin investors? on: June 15, 2024, 03:34:36 PM
So basically you can see that Bitcoin is not a lucky game. You can also give me reason why you think it's about luck.
I think op meant to say is that investing in the right time might be the one that involves a little bit of luck. Of course as an investor or a trader, you should have already studied and analyzes to the best of your capabilities but maybe there is a little luck involved because at the end of the day, no matter how much you study the market everything is just an assumption and the movement of the market is all unexpected. Of course this doesn't remove the fact that when buying/selling, 90% of the decision came from market analyzation.
Personally, I don't even think that even with the level of volatility of bitcoin that is has to do with luck when trying to time the market. One thing you must remember is that bitcoin has partners, it have lasted over 15 to 16 years, so from the past history one can find the right time to invest using historical patterns. So this issue of luck is not for bitcoin.
30  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: EEMERGENCY: in mempool congestion period on: June 15, 2024, 01:06:49 PM
Perhaps, alot of people have over exaggerated the insecurity of funds on an exchange which have left you to this conclusion but the truth about it is that we (safety conscious minds) do not say you shouldn't have any coins or money in your exchange wallet/account but you should have only a little that you can afford to lose which you also pointed out.

You can keep a little amount of bitcoin in your exchange wallet but where it's not longer advisable is the point you have up to $500 to $1000 worth of bitcoin in an exchange wallet, although you can let it for day to business but for keeping them in a long term is highly discouraged.

One thing you can learn from some investors is the fact that the emergency funds is one of the most important priority, if you had your emergency funds in fiat that could cover for at least 4 to 6 months you wouldn't have been looking for your coins during such situations so you should take emergency funds/reserve funds very serious for the unforeseen circumstances like you just had.
31  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: June 14, 2024, 11:42:35 PM
for 4 days my Push ups has been consistent, doing 110 per day seems more comfortable now than 100 push up as usual because I'm becoming too use to it.

I haven't been here for some days but hope everyone is doing great too.

So here is my report for today;
100k,Churchillvv,126,13220,2024-06-13

Edit: Too late for the day, maybe tomorrow would be earlier just been too busy for nothing this days.
Nope, not too late.  That's on me.  You made the deadline.  The table was a bit too quick.
Very well than, I thought as much.

Speaking of the table, anyone have any new column ideas?  I'm looking to shake things up just a bit.

>edit<

I'm also having difficulties trying to figure out what the column would look like but i couldn't find a perfect one but I will try with the following if you might find one interesting.
Code:
S/N | Username (Alphabetical order) | Daily Push ups | Days in | Expected target | Latest Report | PU/day | Total Push ups | percentage % of total | Days till next digit |

Or you can also maintain the old columns but add the following, S/N, Usernames Alphabetically, While you maintain the rest you can put the total push ups to the of the columns while "daily" push ups be in place of total pushups.

For the names that might start with numbers you can put them either in the beginning of at the end of alphabetical orders.

BTW, here is my report; 100k,Churchillvv,127,13320,2024-06-14

Edit: made an error while typing, but corrected... correction will be pick tomorrow.
32  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vulnerability to privacy risk by combining UTXO on multiple addresses. on: June 14, 2024, 05:19:56 AM
My Question:
1. Which address will the change(0.1244BTC) be sent to ?.( Address 1,2 or 3) - I am not quite sure if the first in, first out pattern would be used in this case.
From what I have been learning in this site learn-me-a-bitcoin, You can not just open an output and spend some without spending the entire output, So basically you need to create an extra change output to send the remaining bitcoins back to yourself. So the first in and first out are not to be used.

3. Is there such thing as consolidation fee ?. If Yes, how is it different from tx fee ?.
There is no special consolidation fee, only tx fee and it covers for both combining the UTXOs and creating new outputs and also the change output.

All this are in this learn-me-a-bitcoin you visit if you mind.
33  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Bitcoin, and HODL! on: June 14, 2024, 04:13:32 AM
The concepts or idea of the lump sum completely has nothing to be talked about in terms of buying the dip, the idea of the lump sum buying has to do with making purchase of Bitcoin with the huge sum that is readily available to be invested right away without considering whether the market condition is in dip or not.
Bro you are wrong here and you tend to sound like you are right. Lump sum still involves buying the dip, it depends on the investor whether he chooses to Lump sum at any time without minding the price of the market or he may choose to Lump sum during the dip. And it is true that the best time to Lump sum is during the dip and then DCA through any market interval. In my own opinion this is the right approach to follow an investment. If there are extra buck that comes in along our investment, we can choose to wait for the dip then and when it comes, we Lump sum as well.

Tmoonz has the right idea.

The mere fact that you have extra money that you are holding aside to buy the dip does not convert that into lump sum, merely because the amount might be larger than your normal buys.

The three main strategies in accumulating bitcoin is DCA, buy the dip and lump sum.  Sure you can combine these strategies and even front load your investment by buying more in the beginning, yet if you really want to attempt to apply strategies in differing ways, sometimes there may well be advantages to understanding the difference between the practices in order to take advantage of such differences, and yeah, whether you know the advantages and disadvantages or not, you can do whatever you like and call it whatever you like, even though you might cause confusion when you are not able to differentiate between what is buying the dip and what is lump sum and what is DCA.
Of course Tmoonz is right with his ideas but since we disagree to agree here I will like to buttress and point out so fact that must have amounted to confusion of the other party.

Let's say for instance: We've got three major strategies for bitcoin investment which is DCA, Buying the dips and Lump sum. I believe sometimes this strategies do have some collision which is where agbamoni might be getting is wrong but this collision literally doesn't show up frequently.

Here is the instance; Using my Churchillvv as the case study,

Point A Churchillvv(1) usually practice the DCA method of investing hence does not care what the price is (volatility) as his intention must be for long term investment.

Point B Churchillvv(2), Also practice the buy the dips and he does care what the price is and tries to maximise profit by buying only when the price is low.

Point C Churchillvv(3) Also practice the Limb sum method of buying bitcoin, at this point he does not also care what the price is but because there is an extra cash flow he decides to go in at once.

Having identify this three points, the rare collision happens where, Churchillvv usually buys the dips but for some reason during this purchase he gets an extra cash follow which is not certain then decides to push in all the extra cash into his bitcoin investment, note at this same point bitcoin price is relatively low which also means the dips. At this point where he buys both the dips and also buys bitcoin using his extra cash flow which is expect in this instance to be huge to buy bitcoin it is now in a state of collision as both strategies occurred at this same time. which I see as the area where Agbamoni might be looking at but the fact is they (the three strategies) are different things all together.

So to put you Agbamoni in the right direction, lump sum means buying bitcoin only when you have a huge amount and decide ms to invest regardless of the current bitcoin price. This practice is more applicable when you usually get your money once in a while. But buying the dips means even if you have the money now and BTC price is relatively high you would rather wait even if it takes 365 days to reach your relatively low price before you purchase. Note the time differences

35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A man is unable to collect his price cos he forget where he bought the ticket. on: June 13, 2024, 11:02:47 PM
I have heard of situations like this severally but all ended where the customers are awarded with the price. I can remember vividly that one of the occasions the gambler was able to identify where he staked the bet and the owner ot the bet shop assisted him to get his wins.

Most times casinos/bet companies usually don't want to give out wins to their customers especially when it's huge but at least the dude got his wins, he would have been robbed for his right for just his ticket meanwhile it has lasted for over 6 months they don't expect him to remember everything. Maybe for those of us who gamble alot and don't really care about tickets would see this as warning, thanks to the media for helping out.

37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are cold wallets safer than online exchanges? on: June 13, 2024, 05:08:42 PM
Is their any benefit of keeping you coins in an exchange that could be compared with savings your coins in a cold storage wallet?.

Firstly I don't believe exchange wallets are really wallets infact they are classified as creating an account with an exchange which practically means you do not have power over you coins, that means exchange do not have wallet but an account which you register to keep your coins with them. "Not your keys not your coins".

Cold storage/offline wallets, I haven't seen anything that's better than having full control of your coins which this cold storages provides.  cold storage/offline wallets are the best way to store you coins, maybe the safest for now since their is nothibg with has been provided thst is more safer
38  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Where and how to buy bitcoin in 2024. on: June 13, 2024, 02:53:12 PM
One thing is we are only being afraid for nothing, if you want to buy bitcoin in current Nigeria today, it's even more simpler than you can imagine.

We only had government threatening the crypto space in Nigeria with their actions towards it but we are not in any way restricted of getting it, there are real vendors where you can get your bitcoin and even with the level of scam you can still be more conscious and trade with people who you know physically.

Bybit still have P2P for naira and you can use them to purchase if you want just like that and if you are having doubts of those P2P exchanges you can even buy from forum members who also trade in naira the only instructions is not to label your transactions crypto related words and you can use trusted members like Charles-Tim , CryptopreneurBrainboss , Igebotz , Nwada001 and others as escrow to be on the safer side when trading with someone in the forum (local board), which I think is even more better.
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino/gambling center near an institution of learning? on: June 13, 2024, 02:39:15 PM
Do you think having a casino or any gambling center close to an institution of learning, will influence the students somehow or should I say be a positive or negative reinforcement on them, in anyway?

Thoughts?
I'm a student currently in the school premises, you can't imagine what I'm thinking right now! having a casino or a bet shop close to an institution of learning is more like setting a time bomb and sure it will explode and destroy something one day.

Just imagine staking a game which will be starting the same time with your class, and then you're in the lecture hall you here shout or some kind of sentiment of winning or loses while learning, you will not enjoy what will be the outcome. students will begin to move their interests to gambling as fast as possible especially when one hears the result of another student who won or was lucky enough to get a good profit, a lot of attitude change and social change will occur in such an environment.

Infact it's a bad idea, it will surely disrupt the attention of students and will be a negative impact on them or should I say us. basically in a will organised society it's not possible to have such a business situated around an institution of learning it's highly prohibited.

But the sad truth is, such a place is a good site for business and will surely progress but the effect of that is much worse than the profit one will be making.
40  Other / Off-topic / Re: How can we help beginners not to get addicted on: June 12, 2024, 06:28:58 PM
✂️
With the rate of online gambling now do you think anyone will come to seek for advise before venturing into gambling? Of course No! When an online casino registration is very simple nobody knows if the next person is gambling or not so they don't even share experience in order for others to learn and as a result of this gambling addict is born to spread. One thing know is no matter what is used in writing the gambling rules and gamble responsibly you will still find people not listening because it's in their nature to ignore the rules and chase the imaginary profits which they end up losing all their money.

So practically nobody would seem advise even though they might be facing alot yet they will find it convincing not to ask.
of course no one will  ask for advise but what I am saying this is at least they must consider having good advises to never fall for addiction.

At some point, we can find people who are will to take advise but this kind of people are always very few because addiction always brings some sense of correctness in ones life, which means they do not see things as bad especially their bad habits (gambling addiction) so for them to consider advises it will only have to be the person in question have some level of consciousness in them for taking responsibility of their actions. Hence gambling addicts are not always easy to advise.
