The unclaimed coins (totalling ~2 Billion ESP2) have been put into a locked wallet designated as the "Community Fund" (we will be releasing the pubKEY for community members to view what happens with the wallet in order to offer transparency to our community).

But you are right, since there is no account holding 2 billion Espers, this means the coins were spent.

Anyway. At some point in time, when the coins were premined for the swap, 1 address was holding the entire amount for the swap, where the 2 Billion coins unswapped were left over. That is the address I want to see. That's the question.

Luckily this is a public blockchain so everything is publicly verifiable on the block explorer. You are probably looking for this transaction: https://explorer.espers.io/tx/7400ae5f900251e10478e7a85878acf6b71272c5722abaa2d5e0d0b920bbca1b

Apparently the coins were not premined to a single address, but were pre-mined to many different addresses holding 50M coins each, starting with block 11 on the new chain. In the above transaction, 2 billion coins were moved from those pre-mine addresses to the address EHCnQ4CEpbayNng7eW74J9NKqan5Wivbkx on 9/11, 2016. Remember that the swap was carried out by Novaexchange as an escrow, so balances of many different users might have been mixed during the process, which unfortunately makes it difficult to trace back exactly which coins belong to whom.

With respect to the previous discussion, the only thing I can say is that Espers has never been marketed as an investment vehicle and has always been clear about the fact that it's mainly an experimental blockchain technology project by Cryptocoderz. Trading and speculation with crypto tokens is a natural part of the game like you said, but it has never been the purpose of the project and nobody of the team ever asked anyone to purchase coins on crypto exchanges. Everybody who still does so knows about the risks and is doing so strictly on his/her own responsibility.

So if you are complaining about the lack of progress, lagging behind the roadmap and calling the project a "scam", you seem to assume that Cryptocoderz or other people who have contributed to Espers owe the investors anything, which is not the case, because by definition, any announcements made are not promises and prospects made for investors, but simply a declaration of intent for the sake of transparency. Again, it's not a commercial project and sometimes there can be delays or other things getting in the way. Everybody in the Espers community knows this and is ok with it.

Now, even IF Cryptocoderz at some point made some money with this (which he didn't, like he said, but of course we can never know for sure), then I'm only happy for him because he's a fine guy who always cares more about other people's issues than about his own and clearly deserves some compensation for that. If you have been following the project you will know that he clearly doesn't swim in money so there is no reason for envy or any other kind of animosities here.

Thanks bud I appreciate the kind words! Smiley

Sadly there's many people that would rather cause problems where none exist because they have nothing better to do with their time. Honestly really sad but that's their choice.

We're not swapping to anything, let alone a PIVX clone Cheesy

I wonder where you get your info? It's just hilarious

We are in a situation that is not about price anymore, it's about commitment. I think ESP was the first POW/POS coin that had a great future but unfortunately is in the wrong hands. I will never forget their start when dev was online and here for us everyday.

newbs.. look at the roadmap, there are 7 stages..development didn't proceed to stage 2, actually stage 1 was never complete....aaand this project is about 1 year and a half already.

devs beards fooled you all  Cheesy

With the last discharge she gave, she can manage well, this is a coin that I trust a little more, I always follow what I can about her.
As the amount of coins is high, it will be very difficult to stabilize at a more attractive price. Let's wait and see what happens with the novel Esper!  Smiley
what are you really trying to say here?? I have no clue what your words mean? Her who?? Novel?? Did I miss something??

means..buyer at 2 sats are feeling the heat  of dumps because when it reaches 1 sat he lost 50%...and 1 sat is ESP's last breath, when this shit goes back to LTC market, this shit is DEAD.....move on to other interesting projects.

HAHAHA this is pure entertainment...  Grin

the ESP fork are investors trying to save their investments in ESP..what they are trying to pull off is pathetic...just as pathetic as ESP development..pathetic vs pathetic ... my god!

there are 1000s of alt coins out there take a pick, profit and enjoy ... take care of your BTCs ...and don't be miserable like the sad stories up thread  Wink

so does this mean that you're quitting on ESPERS?
not sure cuz you sound not too satisfied/excited with PIVX
 Huh

Lol no you completely misunderstood him. The Espers community is here. There are 2-3 people who call themselves the "Espers community" and are now trying to swap ESP to a PIVX clone. That doesn't make much sense, but it's really not our problem over here. Espers is continuing as planned, including Gawlea (-ESPERS-) I hope. Wink

(that would be funny if the account called -ESPERS- would convert to the dark side  Roll Eyes)

might wanna watch this gandalf86 and gawlea too, i think gawlea is in bismuth shitcoin now hmmm.

shitcoin devs and their scheming and scamming asses  LOL

First, I have never made money off of Espers. So if you're going to accuse people I encourage you to do more research.

My address has already been revealed before back when people first tried calling me a scam just because it's pretty much just me working on this and as it's not my source of income I have to do a lot of work in my town fixing people's computers or working on other project's codebases in order to pay the bills and keep the lights on.

I understand this may be difficult for you to fathom but this is simply the case.

Gawlea I haven't associated with in years. Gandalf86 is a good fellow and it's regrettable that you see fit to tarnish and slander someone on complete accusations and the desire to cause malicious harm to someone with no kind of tangible reason.

Also we have never been "gone" just because people don't want to join our discord isn't my problem. Now the community has been helping out and assisting with posting here and twitter, etc.

This is all I have to say about this farce of accusations that you folks feel you need push upon someone.
Further slander will simply be ignored and we will push out updates as planned. Doesn't matter how late the features are as long as they're done and done well. Smiley

Could be lack of open wallets, I'll try to open and sync mine today.

My wallet stopped syncing. Last stake was on 11/19/19. Is anybody able to sync or know of any problems with the coin/wallet?

I've been running a wallet for this coin forever. I supported HesDeadJim and compiled several of his releases. Nodes would probably the best thing for what's left of Halloween coin so I'll launch a few to get things picked up again for Hesdeadjim and hope he get's back.

Hello Everyone

I would like to take a moment and go over what has just recently been done and what you can expect coming up soon.

1. Our build environment for Windows and Linux system has been updated with the latest gcc compiler, latest dependencies (all 2019 save for BerkeleyDB which never changes for a few reasons). Please refer to the first attached image for a view of the Windows environment dependencies. This is rather a large deal due to a few of the dependencies featuring fixes and exploit patches that were included in prior builds and patched with recent ones released as of September 2019. This includes libpng which suffered from an exploit for numerous versions of its 1.6.XX releases. We now build with 1.6.37 release which does not contain any known exploits where as builds as of 1.6.36 and lower are susceptible (please refer to second attached image). Qrencode has been updated from 3.4.4 to 4.0.2, OpenSSL build is now 1.0.2t, protobuf libraries are updated from 2.6.8 to 3.10.0, Boost libraries upgraded from 1.68 to 1.71,Qt was upgraded from Qt5.11 to Qt5.13.1 and finally miniUPNPC upgraded from 1.9 to 2.1

2. First you can expect to see a new build of Espers for Windows and Linux (Mac may be built as well since there have been many updates since the last one's release). This new build will be compiled with the new environment and new dependencies offering numerous improvements to overal underlying functionality as well as allowing us to focus on the fun features everyone has been expecting for some time now. Next we will be focusing on the promised PoSv4 and X-Node systems feverishly with frequent community progress updates on the current status of the features development. Finally, we have been working on (among many other things) a full replacement of underlying algorithm functions with our own implementation rather than using traditional SHA256 for them as ALL other altcoins do. Currently we already have replaced ~80% of the hashing functions or encryption functions with own (BMW512, while TXs are "hashed" with HMQ1725). Replacing the remainder of the underlying systems with an alternative to SHA256 is of the utmost importance as with the advancement of recent technology this algorithm will soon be rendered obsolete as many people have speculated for ages and even though it is still stated as a "hypothetical" reality it is a possible reality nonetheless and we are not here to take chances. Keys will be enlarged to 4096 key sizes as apposed to 256/512/1024 key sizes currently employed along with the algorithm change will significantly bolster our security and durability of our software. That being said this will also be a significant step in the right direction for all altcoins and developers alike as we should have stepped away from these older algorithms a long time ago yet NO ONE has. In fact the amount we've replaced is already considerably more than most any other bitcoin based coin has attempted in the past.

Conclusion
So there you have it, I hope you are all satisfied with my explanation and I mean that very sincerely as I hope you now see what we've been doing. Many things are always looked into even if things seem to be still it's far from it behind the scenes. Our ENTIRE codebase was rewords a few months ago in preparation for the promised features and we've been looking things over in the meantime and buttoning the codebase up in anticipation of the upcoming releases. Having things like new dependencies, new codebase format and patched up files is important to do BEFORE slapping in expected features so as to not experience odd or unexpected issues upon launching everything that people have been waiting for, for so long. (Sorry that's worded terribly). We hope that you have a better understanding of the wait and delays associated with this project and are excited for the future. We all hope that you are there when we reach out goals

Hello guys, I know it's been a while since I've spoke but it's not been because we've been off doing nothing!

Been very busy guys and will be rolling out a series of consecutive updates so get ready and buckle up for the fun Smiley

What has happened already:
Code:
Heads up made a new commit
should take care of Daemon building troubles
I'm checking this to make sure with my own VPS of 16.04 and 18.04 to ensure this is the case
will make further changes as needed
Next commit will be an overhaul of the VRX system which offers smoother block generation between PoW and PoS along with a more proper shuffle for each of them.
Also thinking about when would be a good date for a dev meeting with the community

The Dev meeting with the community is to take place in our Discord (Links available in the ANN). I will also be updating the ANN and all relevant links. Twitter is going to be lighting up as well. We're done sitting around Smiley

If you'd like to voice your opinion on when a good date would be please join our Discord and throw out a suggestion. We will set a date for this even within the next 24 hours according to community responses.

As always thank you all! Nothing is possible without community support and you guys are simply the best out there.

My apologies for not responding to other messages I will take the time to do this ASAP.

EDIT:

Daemon build progresses now and doesn't error out. Letting the build finish and verify a launch prior to announcing an updated release

First I want to mention that I don't want to spread FUD but I want to let others know what to expect from this project, as for me the experience was disappointing.

OK, so here is my experience with Espers coins:

First impression was not good, when I saw you need to wait 1h+ to get a payment confirmed (10 blocks - 1 block is mined between 5 to 10 min) which is worst than Bitcoin's tx (here you need 2-3 confirms).

Second and the worst.
I bought around 40 million coins on February 06 and staked them 24h, 7 days a week for 1 month now. The interest was only 150450 coins instead of aprox. 822000 coins (27400*30 days) what should have been (10 millions/365 - supposing I am staking only the initial amount). So the interest is not 25% as the whitepaper says is much more less, around 4.5%.

After I saw this I made some digging and saw that in one year the total supply increased by only 9.3% (current supply - 1 year back supply) from POW+POS so my guess was correct, since the blocks are split 50-50 to POW-POS the POS is around 4.5% annual only.

Peace!

Good observation.  I wonder where the 25% comes from?

I tried to stake Espers about 18 months ago and it wasn't staking well  compared to many other coins.  But those many of those higher staking coins have a problem holding a team together now.  Espers is like a middle ground coin: staking might not be high but at least there seems to be more than one person behind the curtain.   I have 3 computers that only stake wallets and I can let you know some good low entry higher staking coins if you want.   Many of these are 4 or 5 years old.

I bought because I like POS coins, those with mid-stake interest like Espers, Electra, Bean Cash, Linda, Shardcoin, etc. But I really don't like coins with under 10% Cheesy maybe only NEO and ONT. I will move my money from Espers to Ontology or NEO since I get a better ROI and I don't need to keep the wallet open at all.

Regarding the team I don't know what to say, I saw the dev working on other projects too (see his last posts+github). No wonder why the roadmap is so delayed... nothing new since Q1 2018 and this is sad.

Nothing new since 2018 Q1 is quite an overstatement wouldn't you think?

While you're at our GitHub I'd invite you to review the Espers codebase releases and the changelogs associated with them as you'll find your statement to be in error.

Thank you for sharing your experience and I'd like to address some of the points made for a moment.

First point is the blocktime being ~5 minutes. The reason for this is there is no need for a rapid block generation. When users send coins they are available in ~3 blocks and fully confirmed by the network in 10-60 (this goes on behind the UI and is done for added security in case an invalid TX is found by the network). So your coins will be available for use to you within 15 minutes if not a little longer while they arrive and relay instantly. That being said the transaction time and such is something that we have been planning to adjust for some time now in the GUI side of things so that users don't think that they have to wait hours to use their coins.

Now about the second point which is the staking situation. We've addressed this quite extensively in Discord chats and such but it really hasn't been brought up here now that I think about it. Anyway what's going on is that PoS (any version) was not designed do properly handle such a large network weight and sheer amount of coins on the network. What's happening is that larger balances are receiving their 25% rewards however you with less in your holdings than the larger wallets are unable to obtain those numbers as they simply trump your network weight for staking. They only reset the weight for their coins that have staked NOT their balance so their weight seemingly never diminishes. This is rather a large inconvenience in terms to proper network operation so we've been working for the past couple months on an update to the PoSv3 method that we utilize in order to have weights reset after they've staked so that staking becomes more like users waiting their turn instead of completely being random and causing small balances to not be able to see the proper reward numbers. The calculations are however setup and designed for a 25% reward so once this update goes into affect this will be a non-issue.

I would like to apologize for your experience being considerably below expectations however I'd like to also note that we are still in ALPHA phase of development and are working hard to resolve any issues like the one's you've experienced. I thank you very much for sharing what happened and we will use this information for future updates.

I have some ENDO coins, how will the exchange for your coin be?

Please read the below information Smiley the swap is soon to go live!

As a heads up to everyone:

News about the current EndoV2 Network:
In 8 hours from now ALL EndoV2.5+ wallets will drop to 1 coin rewards per block. We do not know if the current nodes have updated so we've launched two of our own to support the old chain while users swap so no one has issues or is left out and so that the swap goes smoothly.

I would HIGHLY recommend adding the following nodes to your config file!!!

Code:
addnode=138.197.161.183
addnode=157.230.107.144

Swapping system and usage:
All users are welcome to participate in the swap from EndoV2 to Endox. To do so please sign in to our Discord channel (https://discord.gg/ZTt9gZW) and use the swap bot system to upgrade to Endox! It's all very straight forward and simple. Below is a list of instructions and information on the swap.

General commands for SwapBot operation:
Simulate a swap:
Code:
!simulate [amount] <@swapbot>
Deposit coins to swap:
Code:
!deposit <@swapbot>
Check your swappable balance:
Code:
!balance <@swapbot>
Withdraw unswapped balance:
Code:
!withdraw [amount] <@swapbot> [address]
Swap coins:

EDIT: Updated ANN thread per request of SaltineChips (he is still unable to use his Bitcointalk account after being temp banned by the admins for posting what was deemed "unnecessary/spam posts" while replying to multiple threads in Bitcointalk) This is not to point fingers at anyone! I'm not looking to cause trouble just explaining the situation. Smiley Thank you all for understanding.

EVERYONE! For more information on the official Endox thread please move over here -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5098427.new#new we are the new development team and this thread was posted by us a while ago while final specs were still being made. So if there is a recent message or something said by the account demoting something and it was before late December that was more than likely not us.

Code:
addnode=138.197.161.183
addnode=157.230.107.144

!balance <@swapbot>
Withdraw unswapped balance:
Code:
!withdraw [amount] <@swapbot> [address]
Swap coins:
Code:
!swap [amount] <@swapbot>
Withdraw swapped coins:
Code:
!withdraw [amount] <@endoxTipbot> [address]

Swap Duration (timeframe):
Start date: January 30th @ 13:00(1pm) 2019 PST

Just a heads up as SaltineChips is unable to post at this time (you may reach him through discord) as bitcointalk flagged him for posting too quickly and/or having too little content in the post so he's asked me to inform you that Logo voting ends TONIGHT!

So please if you haven't already join the discord chat and place your vote! Smiley

Thank you.
