21  Economy / Speculation / Is the mempool being jammed solid for a few days now good or bad for the price? on: June 15, 2016, 12:53:54 AM
Transactions are going to start dropping out of the mempool if this shit keeps up..
22  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too early too start practicing my All Time High dance? on: June 13, 2016, 05:30:10 AM
I haven't started practicing yet....  Am I too late?
23  Economy / Speculation / Is it too early too start practicing my All Time High dance? on: June 04, 2016, 12:44:49 AM
It seems likely to sneak up on me and my moves will not be as momentous as they should be...

Always wondered why that guy isn't solo mining..

Gpu5 looks like its overheating.  Try mining without it.

Thanks, I have disconnected it and so far so good. I notice some GPU's are alot hotter then others, is this normal? Like 15/20 C between them. And what is the max. Temp for these cards? Thanks for the help Smiley

Every GPU is different.  If the fans on gpu5 are still good, try removing the heatsink, cleaning, and applying new thermal paste.  I use Tuniq TX-2 paste and the articlean 2 part cleaning kit.  This will void your warranty, so RMA it if you still have warranty.

I have fixed many GPUs by replacing the fans and repasting.  A functioning card, with good fans, that shoots the temp up fast then kicks off at 80+ C is usually caused by bad thermal paste.

27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Call the bottom - Ethereum on: April 10, 2016, 11:42:52 AM
Around $2-3.  Where cost to mine is slightly lower then the exchange price.  Possibly even lower, leading to a shrinking mining network and POS oblivion..

The miners will sell this into the mud.

Soon..  The halving is upon us..
30  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC price in 2016 on: January 26, 2016, 11:26:17 PM
Y'all are thinking too small.

We could have another 2013 and have a price increase of 50x, to 20k per coin.

It could go even higher. 2013 was not preceded by a two year bear market (the longer the bear market, the larger the bubble at the end), and the inflation rate is much lower now, and will soon half.

Of course we could end the year at $200.

No one knows. All I know is that I'm going to be increasing my holdings as much as possible at current prices.

2013 was actually preceded by a ~2 year bear market..  mid 2011 the price was 30, didn't get back to 30 till early 2013..
31  Economy / Speculation / Re: When to hit $10,000? on: January 26, 2016, 11:23:16 PM
10k usd each in 3 halvings, 8 years.

Good thing he had that helmet on...
34  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gentlemen, i think it's safe to say we're the new halving elite on: October 07, 2015, 01:12:20 PM
Why is nobody looking at things from a logical angle anymore? It's not about what you "feel" will happen. It's about hard facts and elementary human psychology.

The halving will double the price of making bitcoins. This means some miners will be forced to drop out, and some of those dropouts will switch from producing bitcoins to buying them. Others who have hoarded for a while may dump when the price rises, but first the price must rise. For the overall market the supply will shrink which will push the price up assuming the demand remains steady.

The halving is going to push the price up. No way around it. Not in a straight line either, there will be a return of volatility to go with it.

Volatility what is that?? Wink
35  Economy / Speculation / Re: What happened to all the old timers? on: September 29, 2015, 08:25:26 PM
During less volatile accumulation periods many folks, bears and bulls, tend to chill out and do other things w/ their time. This is pretty much the case for some of the old timers around here at this point.

yup yup
36  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 10k$ to invest with free electricty on: September 01, 2015, 07:37:52 PM
How big is the service to the room?  I remember some posts 3-4 years ago about houses with free electric and controlled rent with 1 to 2 year leases in Washington state IIRC.  But a house typically has 200A 240volt service and effectively its more like 120A, as you will melt the utilities incoming service wires, because they can't handle 200A or even 160A 24/7.

It sounds like you have a room or apartment with free electric maybe 50A of 240volt?  That is enough to run 10 S5s or so and their cooling, which will likely cost you close to your 10k usd investment.  Go for it.

This may have been covered but I just noticed it, as I like a good cigar.

Quite a few of the cigar outlets are accepting bitcoin these days.

40  Economy / Speculation / Re: Only $360mio of inflow needed to keep current price and reach next halving! on: August 07, 2015, 07:53:10 AM
For some reasons I start to think that miners would give up on mining after Mining block reward , I mean they was earning 25 BTC and they would be earning 12.5 will they still making profit with all electricity they are eating ? If not is it a possible theory that they will stop mining and Bitcoin will eventually die ?  Undecided

Same arguments happened in 2012 before the first halving.

Unfortunately it was true. All miners stopped mining and Bitcoin ceased to be.

RIP
Omg!  The humanity!
