21  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GMO miner B2: 7NM mining within reach? on: November 15, 2018, 12:16:57 AM
Probably more like they saw the latest competitions products and decided they couldn't compete

exactly

Bitmain is on the market for almost 6 years now and GMO thought they can compete with them? Bitmain just took over the chip factories and I'm pretty sure they planned it before GMO's official statement about 7nm chips and plus today's market
22  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: GMO miner B2: 7NM mining within reach? on: November 14, 2018, 07:44:48 PM
so for todays news GMO stated that they can't ship miners and they already issued some refunds to clients
even though the company is legit I was sure that something would happen, it doesn't matter who you are the pre-order stuff is always fishy
it reminded me butterflylabs
23  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 08, 2018, 05:04:15 AM
You... I guess they nailed it lol.

Missed that post, as it would have been so much easier to just quote and say he nailed it with a link. Nice when at the end you can trust a good source.

my motto was to share as I no longer do mining for myself(except heating my greenhouse up) but for my clients only
24  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 08, 2018, 04:55:56 AM
I wonder how long they have been mining with this devices, I also know about S11 and T11 which never exposed to public and I've seen the prototypes 2-3 month ago.
Dec shipping isn't that bad and now I'm guessing what will happen.
Oh and as I know first batch quantity will be limited to max
25  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 08, 2018, 04:42:58 AM
my source was right
26  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 07, 2018, 04:21:59 PM
Buying or not buying might depend on the price and other characteristics.
For example: is lower wattage a different machine (like mini) or is it a different set of frequency.
They actually implemented it (two settings) in some other machines as balanced vs turbo settings.

BTW, is it worth it to do passport/DL KYC with Bitmain and risk losing your creds somewhere in china?
Honestly, i don't get it why we have to do it since they already have my name and address?

they have strict policies for Islamic countries that's why KYC for everyone
27  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 07, 2018, 03:17:27 PM
so two speeds.

If it does 850/17000 on slow that is 50 watts a th.

But 2k is pretty high price.

agree, but first batch will sold out in minuts and plus they are altering BCH price
28  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 07, 2018, 03:03:42 PM
I am hearing the same thing.. Huge dud if you ask me.. S9 still has long legs.

Only thing that may make it attractive is price. 1k or less?

1.4 to be exact
29  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 07, 2018, 10:49:38 AM
Any source for this info ? Smiley
How legit is it.

just wait for the official release
these are rumors as far as I know

If it is 1200 I am looking at 1600 after shipping and tax.

you are very close at price range
after shipping and taxes it will hit around 2k
30  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 07, 2018, 08:42:58 AM
S15
28TH/17TH
1596W/850W

T15
23TH/20TH
1541W/1200W
31  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 06, 2018, 04:09:15 PM
[...]

And if it goes on sale on nov 8 I hope it ships quickly.

If it is 1200 I am looking at 1600 after shipping and tax.

Not sure it is worth 1600 unless it comes really fast and does 55 watts not 65 watts

I'm pretty sure they will be more than 1200 stock + shipping and taxes in some cases

Some leaked info  Grin

Hashrate =34TH
Price = 1200
power = 1500W

these information was giving to me by a Chinese friend who is an loyal customer of bitmain.  I can not confirm/deny but usually his leaks are accurate. let's find out in 2 days.

RIP S9s  Angry

imo they will flood the market as they usually do, diff will sky rocket and yea RIP S9

not sure about that info but hashrate seems a bit too high no?

Considering 14nm chips are 13.5th at 12xx watts I’d expect around 26-27th range for the same wattage. That’s a big IF on them solving all the issues with the 7nm chips.

I'm betting on that but a bit lower, just a bit
34  Bitcoin / Hardware / Bitmain will be releasing S15 and T15 on 8/11/2018 on: November 06, 2018, 03:00:07 AM
It seems they skipped the S11 and T11 and switched to S15/T15. They will be on 7nm chips.
est. price and shipping date unknown atm.
Release date 8/11
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Antminer D3 39 $ on: November 03, 2018, 09:44:36 PM
there will be new batches of new models soon very very soon
so they are dropping their old equipment for people with free electricity I guess
I had couple customers taking my old batch S9s L3s and even D3 recently
after asking them why the answer was same - free electricity
36  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: New firmware for antminer S9 - less power consumption on: November 03, 2018, 09:42:29 AM
Would you do this by unchecking "low power mode" in the Miner Config/General settings tab?

Upgraded to the new FW and over the course of a week have seen a decrease of 8-10% in hash rate.. and it is still decreasing.

yes, disabling LPM under miner configuration indeed helps to stabilize hashrate.
testing new firmware, will be back in few days with results, 50+ machines has been upgraded

edit:
2hrs+ and no visible change in hashrate, will keep an eye
12hrs+ and no change in hashrate
so far so good
and finally there are better temps 65-70 avg.

they are aware of this issue
there will be an update soon
we can do nothing about it just wait
39  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: New firmware for antminer S9 - less power consumption on: October 27, 2018, 08:28:41 AM
ok this is getting a bit hilarious.
who can convince me that they haven't tested their shitty firmware at least at 10 machines for 12hrs before releasing it?
something else is happening here but I'm unable to see the whole picture atm.
Have anyone tested this at the antpool or btc.com ?? it will answer some questions either miner is working as intended or not
40  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: New firmware for antminer S9 - less power consumption on: October 25, 2018, 04:11:16 PM
hi, do you experience lesser or slightly lower hashing on s9?

ok so after a bit wait I did update my farm partially 40 units for now and yes there's a change in power consumption but also in hashrate. Some of them even dropped from 13.8 to 12.5 almost about 10%, freqs are 2x627 and 640MHz, some of them dropped slightly lower rates
I think they are still working on FW so let's wait and see
