21  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beware of ponzi schemes bearing names relating to bitcoin on social media on: October 19, 2019, 09:20:17 PM
Such scams are not related to just bitcoins. If any unknown person promises to multiply your money, even fiat/cash, then that's just obvious that you are going to get scammed.
I believe that most people in the current time are educated enough to differentiate what is true and what is scam.
22  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: IMPORTANT NEWBIES ADVICE! For your own safety! on: October 19, 2019, 06:25:40 PM
NEVER LET UNKNOWN ENTITIES CONNECT TO YOUR PC WITH REMOTE CONTROL LIKE TEAM VIEWER.

Risks are enormous and could lead to total loss of your funds and/or compromise your data permanently.

Stay aware, stay safe.  Smiley
A very famous way that scammers connect to your pc through team viewer is Tech Support Scams.
People would pretend to be working for microsoft and say that your computer is infected. They would instruct you to download and install team viewer in order to "repair" your pc.
There are a number of videos on youtube of people scambaiting such scammers and wasting their time. Checkout KitBoga on youtube.

Remember: Microsoft does not call anyone regarding a virus on your computer.
23  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's going on with BTC? on: October 19, 2019, 06:07:54 PM
if we see a lot of factors that cause an increase in bitcoin but we can also make sure it's true or not, like one of the reasons for the rise in bitcoin is because many investors buy bitcoin, and there are others who say bitcoin goes up because now bitcoin is giving little prizes to bitcoin miner members and also other events that are paid for with bitcoin.
I think due to the high cost of Bitcoin mining, the price of it will not fall below $ 7,000. This is a good enough defense in case of a crisis in the cryptocurrency market, miners make a big impact on the price of Bitcoin.
Along with that the amount of bitcoins left to be mined are getting reduced with each passing day. 18 Million bitcoins out of the maximum limit of 21 Million have been already mined. The next 10 million would be mined in the next 10 years. That would leave us with 1 Million coins left to be mined for 110 years.
As the scarcity of a commodity increases, so due to supply and demand the price is bound to increase.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stacking cryptocurrencies with Interest on: October 18, 2019, 06:24:47 PM
There are a lot of decentralized lending projects and emerging DeFi services emerging. But keeping my coins onto some third party always seems risky to me. Might be the whole be your bank case with bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies that I prefer to just keep my coins with myself.

You can read my thread which deals with a similar topic: Earning interest on coins through DeFi. Is it Safe/Legit?
25  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Is it possible to generate every address from one seed on: October 16, 2019, 08:31:28 PM
Just came to know that a wallet is capable to generate a lot more address than 20 or 30.
I would like to know is there a limit to how many bitcoin public keys be generated using one seed phrase. Is it unlimited? If it's not limited then this would mean that wallets with different seeds would cause a clash of their addresses. Am I right?

Bump
It is great that you are following the forum rules of not bumping the thread more than once within 24hrs.
But please delete your older bump posts when you create new bump. I have reported to the mods so they would be taking care from now on.
27  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I cant access ti my acompt on: October 16, 2019, 06:11:34 PM
There's no other "belchem" user aside from that newbie account either.
But in BPIP (https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=Belchem), it said below that you had 52 posts but not deleted by mods.

From where did you get the "52" value? I am seeing that no posts were deleted by mods:

----

I don't think data is saved for user deleted posts.

You could go to bitcointalk.org/?action=drafts to see if you can recover any but you'll probably just have to start posting again and strengthen your password/ensure you're using https (check for the padlock logo) when you access the forum.

You are completely off track.
Here we are not talking about the contents of the posts deleted by mods, BPIP keeps a log of the number of posts made and the number of posts deleted by mods.

@nc50lc btw, there's no point to discuss how many posts got deleted on OP's new account (created yesterday).

The possibility I see here is either he's still misspelling his account username or it's getting converting to something else because of translation.

29  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [btc] New Faucet Bitcoin! 20-45 satoshis No Timer! on: October 16, 2019, 05:32:51 PM
nice faucet but i advice you to remove porn ads it good at all Cry
Yeah, around 40% ads were NSFW (and no, these ads were in no way displayed because of my search history).
I am aware that the advertising platforms allows the publisher to checkout such types of ads.

I would suggest you that you fix the background of faucet as well because currently it doesn't provide a good visual appeal to the eyes, partly because the background is set to tiled. A single whole page background or gradient would be much better.
30  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 🚨ShortBitsFree.net 🚨 Crypto URL Shortner. 🔥 2$ CPM worldwide 🔥 on: October 16, 2019, 05:08:05 PM
Looks like you got a lot of clicks in a short time.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes
( 24,519   TOTAL CLICKS  4,391 TOTAL LINKS  351  REGISTERED USERS)
Initially, I thought that it might just be a static number displayed on the webpage, but upon registering my account, it did increment. Though still can't digest the fact that they acquired so many users in such short time.

A major flaw with this URL shortener is that the output is very long (ShortBitsFree.net) 16 characters get utilized just here. Maybe a smaller length domain name would be much more useful.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why it is important to lose Bitcoin to an incorrect wallet address on: October 16, 2019, 04:58:14 PM
2. To conclude your lengthy and non sense post, you should sent you bitcoins to wrong bitcoin wallet or else it will be lost forever is that what you mean OP?

Let's say that's the case. It is still not necessary to lose bitcoin just to learn your mistake. It is true you can learn from mistakes but if you are careful and observant you can prevent that situation. I've been using bitcoin since 2016 and I never mistakenly send to a wrong address. If you will send some big amounts I'm sure you check the recipient many times before confirming it.

There is a very popular saying that "Prevention is better than cure", but I guess OP is not aware of this. What can be prevented with just a little more caution and knowledge, the OP is instead asking that we must lose what we already have, that doesn't make sense to me.

Many people might get bankrupt if they followed such philosophy. Want to learn online banking? send to wrong person; writing your first check? write wrong person's name.
I hope you understand what's wrong.
32  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Thailand Taxi Service Accept Bitcoin & Cryptocurrency payments. on: October 16, 2019, 04:45:53 PM
It's always a piece of great news to hear local businesses accepting bitcoin as a means of payment. It is by adoption only that cryptocurrencies would find there way among general public.
Your facebook page hasn't been updated for over a year! You have got to share that you now accept bitcoin as well because that's the way to get your potential customers from Thailand to be aware of this, just posting on this forum is not enough as we are a much smaller part of your target audience.
33  Other / Meta / Re: Possible to view Recent Posts from selected boards only ? on: October 16, 2019, 04:37:12 PM
---
I've not figured out a way to use categories and boards at the same time though.
---
Same, tried every combination but none of them worked.

The majority of the posts encountered were just bounty reports by the bounty hunters, nothing constructive.
Is there a way to exclude some boards or choose the boards from where to view the recent posts? There may be a URL addition that I might be not aware.
It is the best to customize your patrol page by adding board numbers and bookmark that page for your interests.
Additionally, if you don't want to customize your patrol page, but still don't want to see annoying bounty reports, please consider to use that page.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=recent;patrol;nobounty
For more things, you can read:
New options for patrol pages and ignore board preferences (profile page), please
I followed this link and stumbled upon this detailed post: Patrol custom URL guideline + list of active Forum boards.

I don't know if it the answer you are expecting, but try to add this ending after your link:

;sort=first_post;desc

EXAMPLE:

This link --------> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0

to this one ----------> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=238.0;sort=first_post;desc
The link that you have posted just sorts the particular board according to the latest new thread created. Nothing to do with the intentions of my OP.
34  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: {Warning}: Attackers Create Elaborate Crypto Trading Scheme to Install Malware on: October 16, 2019, 03:34:26 PM
Damn, this is clever in a bad way.
I guess that having to download the software from a Github repository can raise some reg flags and more people will refuse to download it,because it doesn't look professional.
Not necessary to raise red flags because I have seen several open source projects that just let the users download the binaries and execute the program on their computers.
Hosting on Github helps to give users a false sense of trust that all the code is right in front of you if they had hosted on their own website, chances are lesser people would have downloaded.

I wanna know whether antiviruses are capable to detect such backdoors or not. If yes, then this scam could have been avoided by just using a decent AV.
35  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Question about Blockchain/Smart Contract/Decentralized Casino on: October 16, 2019, 03:21:05 PM
The reason that such gambling platforms don't invest in mobile apps is that Play Store has very strict policies regarding such apps.

FYI, gambling apps published through Google Play Store are available in UK, Ireland, and France only. The company has to fill out a detailed contract complete with a gambling license and whatnot.

WWW has seen a shift from desktop to increase in mobile users, but as far as crypto users are concerned most still use pc's and that are still willing to gamble on their mobiles can just use the website.

37  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: retrospective of your thoughts on: October 16, 2019, 12:39:42 PM
I first discover bitcoin when I am looking for an online job that lets me earn dollars. Though I have failed to find one but I discover bitcoin faucets, I dont really understood that time what bitcoin but what I know is that it can be exchanged with dollars.  2 years later I joined an investment that uses bitcoin as mode of payment and I was surprised that bitcoins vale have tremendously increased. Then at that time I studied bitcoin and searched ways to earn bitcoin online, including signature campaigns, hyip, affiliate marketing, gambling, trading and even mining. I became addicted to bitcoin and I even wake  at 3 in the morning just to see the value of btc if I gain some profit or not.

Did you gain a lot of profit with all of your methods or did you lose a lot of bitcoin? i have never used hyip, gambling or using signature campaigns. Would be interesting to know if it is time wasting or would you say we should give it a try?

Lol, are you really serious? HYIP doesn't require much time investment, but if you are not fond of losing your money then I advise you to not invest in such schemes.
Gambling is just luck so just treat it like a game for fun and not a way to generate continuous income from it, because you won't.
Signature campaigns require to invest some time, but you get paid to do the stuff that you would be doing anyway (hopefully).
38  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Honestly, do you guys think cryptocurrencies will be gone anytime soon? on: October 16, 2019, 12:33:16 PM
According to me, the trend of creating all the fake tokens and forks of coins we see must be gone for the greater good as the projects associated with them never fulfill their promises.
There is no doubt that bitcoin would never lose its userbase but I have a little concern regarding the recent news about improved supercomputers capable of breaking cryptographic functions, which actually lay the foundation for bitcoin and other blockchain use cases.
A person who gets involved in cryptocurrencies never really leaves this ecosystem and I sense no slowing down of this.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=recent;boards=24,167

You can use multiple board numbers separated by commas. This will show posts in those boards.
You made some fast edit there !

That's exactly what I wanted! I was not able to find this in the SMF help section of the forum. Is there any page where all such URL extensions are listed or do you just remember/bookmark them?

40  Other / Meta / Possible to view Recent Posts from selected boards only ? on: October 16, 2019, 11:49:54 AM
I was planning to lurk the forum to see what all is going around by going through posts on the "Recent Posts" page (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=recent).
The majority of the posts encountered were just bounty reports by the bounty hunters, nothing constructive.
Is there a way to exclude some boards or choose the boards from where to view the recent posts? There may be a URL addition that I might be not aware.
