21  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you remember Cogitex? on: May 18, 2024, 06:52:04 AM
Cogitex is a project that aims to change the game in the world of cryptocurrencies and technology. It represents a unique ecosystem that brings together cutting-edge technologies of the future.

I personally haven't read of it — but based on your description, this Cogitex thing seems to be just like the typical crypto shitcoin where they just fill the definition with broad futuristic buzzwords that tell you nothing; it's just written in a way to excite noobs into buying the token.
22  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Exodus fees on: May 18, 2024, 05:42:36 AM
Not sure how Exodus works because I personally don't use it(closed source lol), but Ethereum MetaMask users use SmolRefuel[1] for this purpose. I'm not 100% sure if you can even connect Exodus to a dapp website.

Also, unless Exodus is going to route through a centralized exchange or through the likes of ThorSwap/Chainflip, I'm not sure how you can even get BTC and not wBTC?

23  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Seabank sa P2P Exchange on: May 18, 2024, 05:13:21 AM
Since SeaBank is a 'neobank', yea wala talagang physical bank. One reason to be confident though is that malaking kompanya ang SE Limited(parent company) so very unlikely(but not impossible, as with any other bank) na magkaroon ng kalokohan.

As far as I know though, PDIC insured should be up to P500,000 (baka mali memory ko, DYOR). So kung mag dedeposit ka man, wag nalang siguro tataas sa amount na yan.
24  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Retik Finance on: May 18, 2024, 05:00:36 AM
Thanks for explaining. I could sell my tokens now for $350 on their swap, I could just try with an empty wallet. But also if it's legit and it exploding at the beginning I don't wan to miss that out, one/two month's ago this project was super hyped and they raised $32M in no time, so I am so confused. But I am not in with much so the loss wont hurt, but if I actually can get something back here I would first of course be happy but also very surprised I as been confident  I was scammed for long time.

You can hold if you a bit as a trade if you want, and that's fine because sometimes even the shittiest and the scummiest projects pump really hard. Just make sure you're not too emotionally attached to this token and left holding the bag once the hype dies down — which is what's likely to happen sometime in the future.
25  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Retik Finance on: May 17, 2024, 06:55:53 PM
Problem #1: I have a healthy following of 1000+ people on Twitter that consists of venture capitalists, influencers(the less bad ones compared to those on YouTube), and investors in general. Not a single one of them follows Retik's Twitter account, which is very very rare unless the project was created last week(it's not).

Problem #2: the token's on-chain liquidity is .. $72k. lol

Problem #3: the project's description is "Retik Finance is committed to bridging the gap between the crypto realm and real-life utility." Lol that's some BS.

In summary, either a scam, or a crappy project where there's a 99.9% chance that you lose money if you hold it long-term.
26  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: speculative play: ONDO vs GLMR on: May 17, 2024, 06:38:10 PM

That’s fair. Cryptocurrency has really evolved just from bitcoin to now many categories and subsets.

These two projects are projects from GameFi or Gaming Finance that is a subset of Decentralized finance. Basically GameFis are projects that allow its users to play different kinds of games while being able to earn as well. Usually these games have their own currencies but as far as I know you can exchange them to different currencies.

It really depends on what you are looking for if choosing which gamefi to participate in so it’s best to do your own research.

? ? ?

No they're literally not under GameFi lol; you can even do a quick lookup yourself. Talking about doing research eh lol.

Moonbeam(GLMR): a dead(adoption-wise) cross-chain platform
ONDO: yield farming for institutions (KYC'd, definitely NOT decentralized finance)

There's literally zero gamefi.
27  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Polygon (MATIC) price prediction: Is MATIC the best investment option for 2024 ? on: May 17, 2024, 06:25:44 PM
As a person who struggled with growing a blog in the past, I gave you the benefit of the doubt.

Your article isn't just amateurish, it's really just bad. You wrote 5 paragraphs but after reading it I felt like you told me literally nothing. Write something else in a niche that you actually understand perhaps?

Also: "Polygon (MATIC) is supposed to make Ethereum run smoother"

No it's not lmao. It's literally a separate blockchain.
28  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Memecoin specifically for holders.. on: May 17, 2024, 06:15:00 PM
I just discovered this memecoin with the narrative of 'No more torture for holders' on the BNB chain called $HODL.

So.. are you expecting that people will just baghold it forever just because that's the tagline and that the ticker is $HODL? If so, then lol.

What makes memecoin gain traction is just the mere stupidity of it. The more you make it complicated by adding random BS like this one, the less likeliness for it to gain traction.
29  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Introduction to Crypto Airdrops on: May 16, 2024, 08:16:38 AM
My problem with airdrops in general is not the value of the tokens that I will receive, but the privacy aspect of participating in them.
If the data requested by Airdrop is limited to your name as a user on one of the platforms, there is no harm at all and it will be easy to participate.
However, Airdrop campaigns ask for more personal information, such as data related to your real identity, your address, the name of the bank you deal with, and photos.
For your ID card or passport, and here lies the danger. These projects can collect data and then sell them.

It is not recommended at all to participate in these campaigns or projects due to their poor concept and poor capabilities that do not suggest any expected success, as experiences have proven for more than 90 percent of them. It is also not recommended to provide personal data to any party whose competence to preserve it.

Your idea of airdrops is those airdrops back in 2017. Pretty much 99% of the legitimate airdrops today don't require you to submit any AML/KYC documents AT ALL. Obviously, even I am not fan of AML/KYC.

Airdrops in the year 2022 onwards reward users who test/use their platform, and those who provide liquidity and such (depending on the platform's niche).
30  Other / Meta / Re: Links in Signatures and Posts bad for SEO of a website? on: May 16, 2024, 07:38:28 AM
My opinion: Links in posts and signatures aren't necessarily bad(at most, just slightly bad for SEO is my guess); but the goal for links in posts/signatures shouldn't be for SEO purposes anyway, it's mainly for traffic and brand recognition.

Source: Me. I know SEO and internet marketing stuff but am not necessarily an 'expert'.
31  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is Offline Mining Actually a Thing? on: May 16, 2024, 07:19:20 AM
Conceptual and technical flaws aside (because lol), before thinking about mining literally anything, first think for yourself if what you're mining will end up worth something in the first place. But yea if you were to go through with this, make sure to insta dump every day because this likely won't hold up in months/years.
32  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is "Sell in May" really a good idea (in the case of Bitcoin)? on: May 15, 2024, 07:28:23 AM
I dunno, when talking about bitcoin/crypto, there are simply too many factors to take into account(especially in the current economic/regulatory environment) to make a conclusion just based on traders/investors going on some summer break.

Personally, I wouldn't make any decent-sized market decisions based solely on monthly history price data. Cool data though, nonetheless.
33  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: speculative play: ONDO vs GLMR on: May 15, 2024, 06:34:32 AM
GLMR: no narrative and feels pretty dead, to be honest
ONDO: has a decent narrative around it(RWA, BlackRock's BUIDL, etc) for a mid-term trade

I personally won't and am not planning on buying either, but if I was forced to buy either, I'd pick ONDO instead.

You know the drill: nfa, dyor, etc.
34  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: GME:GAMESTOP produces magic in 24hrs on: May 15, 2024, 06:12:30 AM
If I had money in my US stock brokerage account I'd purchase a small amount just for the lulz, but there's no way I'd take it seriously and hold this thing long-term. At some point the DeepFuckingValue/RoaringKitty hype would once again die down, and so will this stock.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Token - How do I go about it on: May 15, 2024, 05:07:34 AM
Reading all your posts and replies, brother while I admire your entrepreneurial spirit, trust me let this idea slide for now and try to understand how markets work first. There are a lot of aspects that you seem to want to force such as market price that shouldn't(and can't) definitely be forced.
36  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Toncoin [TON] to outperform Bitcoin? on: May 14, 2024, 06:31:12 AM
Re: Toncoin [TON] to outperform Bitcoin?

It really isn't new for certain altcoins(like TON in this case) to outperform bitcoin in a specific timespan. The question is — will you be able to take advantage of the price increase long enough? Because at some point, there's a good chance that these altcoins would just end up in the shitters. It's a bit rare for altcoins to outperform bitcoin when talking about long-term.
37  Local / Pilipinas / Re: High Fees sa Electrum on: May 13, 2024, 05:04:23 PM
Generally that's how it works yes.

Itong nangyari sayo concerning input transactions is applicable sa Bitcoin in general.

Just to add though, good rin ang BlueWallet sa pangmobile but then again hindi nito mareresolve ung issue mo.
38  Local / Pilipinas / Re: High Fees sa Electrum on: May 12, 2024, 10:32:48 AM

$5 at the time.

Ito un. Either may mali kang ginagawa(most likely not), or sobrang dami mong ingoing transactions lang na naipon throughout the days.
39  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best way to buy privacy coins? on: May 12, 2024, 05:34:11 AM
This is going to totally depend on what privacy coin you want to buy and what country you're in.

The general answer though would be through peer-to-peer. Not sure which exchanges support P2P trades of the likes of XMR/ZEC though. The alternative is to buy through some shady exchange that doesn't require AML/KYC.

Also note: it's not really possible to buy "completely anonymously".
40  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost Bitcoin and possible future scarcity on: May 11, 2024, 07:09:07 PM
  • Do you think all dormant wallet (long inactive wallets) are gone forever?
Of course not. There have been wallets that's been around for a decade then suddenly became active.

  • As we are not certain of Satoshi's return, should we be bothered about his dormant wallets?
No. Because it's his money. He should do whatever he wants with it.

  • do you think lost Bitcoin can cause Bitcoin scarcity in the future?
Even dormant wallets already sort of provide some 'scarcity' due to the fact that they're off the markets.

  • From a total of 21million total supply, can you attempt a prediction guess of the total number of Bitcoin that would be in active wallets after all Bitcoin has been mined?
Around 500k lost probably. Just a random guess.
