201  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PoW] [PoS] VEIL - Privacy without compromise on: May 24, 2019, 05:11:17 AM

Announcing the architecture of the future Veil privacy protocol

Veil's new privacy protocol will be based on the Zerocash protocol and Sonic proofs, an improvement to zk-SNARKs with superior scalability.

For the interim, a Zerocoin vulnerability fix has also been found and will soon be implemented.

Read more here: https://veil-project.com/blog/new-veil-protocol/

Solid news! This should attract more users and investors towards Veil over time. This has got to be one of the best privacy coins in 2019.
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon VII vs expected NAVI on: May 23, 2019, 08:09:06 PM
I'm waiting, even if they are equal or navi is worse for mining waiting will allow you to save some $$$ as a new burst of radeon used 7s go on the market and retailers/distributors start discounting their current inventory. At this point there are a lot of navi leaks but tech leaks are about as reliable as a coin flip.

Yeah but you can probably mine more than $100 of crypto in the months it takes for Radeon 7 to drop $100. In fact you can grab the free games and sell it for $35 - $50 usd per card right now. And Navi won't have free games in the beginning, and at best it will be half of Radeon 7's hash rate (8gb gddr6) and similar efficiency.

Still, only $1.3 profit per radeon 7 per day now.

Who wants the hassel to mine with the heat and the noise in summertime for a little more than a dollar a day. Where is that a lot of money - in the slums of Bangladesh?
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon VII vs expected NAVI on: May 23, 2019, 07:36:21 AM
I would expect the first releases of Navi to be about Vega 64 +20% gain in performance at a lot less power consumption. Later when they refine the process I expect a 15% boost on top of that.
It looks like a lot of sites have already created their own speculation about the performance of NAVI just like this one https://wccftech.com/amd-navi-radeon-rx-gpu-rumors-navi-20-2020-rx-navi-graphics-cards/
according to that site and there will be no significant increase but that depends on what kind of AMD NAVI that you have expected dude. Im waiting for RX3090 because it's really cheap compared with VII(based on the speculation price that already mentioned in the article).

I wouldn't expect too a low of a price to start with, maybe after some 6 to 12 months after release we could see prices to be cheap as you put it. Those price speculation are very optimistic in my view.
204  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Advice for newby on: May 22, 2019, 08:17:53 PM
Why would you bother to mine with raspberry pi's. I think it would be a much better option to buy some used gpu's and start mining with them instead. Mining with raspberry pi's won't net you much money at all.
205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How much would it cost to build mining rig? on: May 22, 2019, 12:44:31 PM
It would cost as much as the specs you desire to put into it. Also you would have to consider what type of coins you would like to mine, as AMD and NVIDIA are different with different algorithm's.
206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PoW] [PoS] VEIL - Privacy without compromise on: May 21, 2019, 08:53:54 PM
I do not really understand mining, but I like this project and I would like to buy video cards to participate.

Tell me, how much higher is the profit from the mining of VEIL coin compared to the top coins, say, ETH.

It evens itself out because miners constantly check where they can get the best returns. There are hardly any differens between the coins profitability.
207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty that paid you some good reward on: May 21, 2019, 04:22:23 AM
I have participated last some bounty but I got few money with two bounty CS or PPL. In fact 2018-2019 I have joined lot of bounty but 60% scam, 20% ICO successful but their do not added yet popular exchange and other 20% failed ico. Even now totally no have good bounty but I also filled.

Sounds like you are working hard to try to get some money off of these bounties. Maybe it would serve you better if you tried to wash out the poor ones and only go for the better quality bounties.

I myself have only participated in one bounty this year. A good one!

I've tried what was told on the Telegram about the wallet issue close while syncing. Has anyone here at the forum been able to? Because I'm not! Is there anything else I can try?

Yeah I got it to fully sync eventually. Had to spend some time with trial and error, but got it working in the end. If you have any troubles, the admins at the telegram group are very helpful. Not that I needed their help though, figured it out on my own how to manage it.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: pump end or only correction? on: May 19, 2019, 07:19:28 PM
Back up to $8000. No need to get nervous over completely normal market ups and downs. What matters is the medium to long term trend, and as far as I can see it's still a positive one.
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: CoinFly: The first all-in-one crypto mining system on: May 19, 2019, 08:34:56 AM
This sounds a bit fishy to me. I'm sceptical to something that is supposed to do everything "better". If you take the time to study and read up on a subject, you will be able to do fairly well on your own. I see no need for this.
212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PoW] [PoS] VEIL - Privacy without compromise on: May 19, 2019, 07:16:10 AM
What is the faster miner for VEIL right now ?

I think all miners are somewhat the same with little to no speed difference. I have been using suprminer for a while now to mine Veil.
The new t-rex version gave me a little hashrate boost, but not much. It's probably no more than a quarter or a half of a megahash. The contributing factor to how much you can mine is what card you are mining with. The fastest card is probably a 2080ti, or one of the new radeon cards.

What the miner itself reports is one thing, personally I also check what the pools are actually getting when you mine. At the end of the day that is what is important.

Would be a very strange thing indeed if Bitcoin only went up in a straight line. Technical analysis can to a certain extent tell you about the trend BTC is in and where it probably is heading next.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: pump end or only correction? on: May 17, 2019, 06:58:36 PM
Perfectly natural to have a correction after a huge rally. Some of the holders take some of their profits of the table. This happens in every investment scenario, be it in the stock market or in the crypto market.
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty that paid you some good reward on: May 17, 2019, 12:59:50 PM
My good earning bounty is only around 1.5 ETH from Cryptaldash bounty. I got 45K token after I sell all that. In august 2018 1 ETH = around 290 USD. And I don't get any bounty with the huge reward yet until now.

Not sure if I would consider $290 a huge reward, it's ok, but not huge, maybe if you did that ten times or something. Most bounties these days pay next to nothing. Then there are a few that pay decently enough, though they are harder to find in the jungel of bounties.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto market getting many new people. Is it good or bad for us? on: May 17, 2019, 07:51:58 AM
if you are greedy and egoist, it is a bad thing...
but if you want crypto adoption, healthy markets (with a lot less manipulation), less scam chaos, more opportunities.... it can only be a good thing!!
People like to build walls ... but the solution is exactly the opposite, walls will keep people only out up to a certain point, but will collapse sooner or later and then you'll have a flood  Wink

I think a lot of the people are a bit of both. They do want to see crypto gaining track towards mass adoption/new tech improving peoples lives AND they would like to make a profit off of it at the same time.
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty that paid you some good reward on: May 16, 2019, 09:56:41 PM
This situation is not the same as before. The bounty prize is certainly very big in his time. But never despair with conditions like this. With the increase in the crypto market, of course, it is very likely that the bounty prize will be even bigger. So it still works as usual.

What is regarded as not worth much today can be worth a lot more if you hodl AND choose the right tokens that skyrockets later. As before we will probably see steep high's and low's. Buy low and sell high.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PoW] [PoS] VEIL - Privacy without compromise on: May 16, 2019, 05:43:36 PM
Looks like the price has bottomed out and now is selling at firesale levels. The crypto market as a whole is a positive one pricewise and I'm sure this will impact Veil in a positive way as well going forward. Now would be a good time to buy.

For the last 48 to 72 hours, the Bitcoin prices have stabilized at $8,000 per coin levels (Coinmarketcap shows a price of $7,896 per coin as of now). If this trend continues for the rest of the week, then we can expect the traders to start booking profit. And this may result in a correction, which can take the prices to somewhere between $6,500 and $8,000 per coin. For Veil, this should be good news. Those who sold the coin to purchase BTC should be now thinking about purchasing it once more.

I can't believe how cheap some people sold their Bitcoin just a few months ago. I bet they seriously regret that poor decision now. On another note, I can't believe how cheap some of the guys sold their Veil either. Now watch it rise high!!

Don't sell your coins and tokens on the cheap guys, hold on to them and watch it skyrocket.

219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Radeon VII temperature on: May 16, 2019, 05:33:54 PM
There was this video which showed where you can undervolt the card to get it to 70c only if you adjusted it in the overclocking software from ati control panel.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5emUHO_Eur4
Not sure if it would work for mining since you are pushing these cards to their limits to make mining with them profitable.

Personally I prefer to get the temperature below 65 degrees celsius when mining. Above that I think I feel a chemical strange smell coming from the computer and or gpu's. Don't think I will ever buy any Radeon 7's for mining if that temp is the norm.
But for me that's normal to see radeon VII gets junction temp around 80 - 90. I have a friend that was using it for play a game in 4k resolution and it was increasing more than 100 jtemp.
I heard some people in another forum said that's normal as long as it has not yet passed the throttle limit.

I'm hoping that AMD will come out with some awesome Navi gpu with low power consumption that is worth buying relative to price/power. They're killing it with their CPU's, hopefully GPU's will be great at some point.
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto market getting many new people. Is it good or bad for us? on: May 16, 2019, 05:25:52 PM
When the price of Bitcoin skyrockets it drags other altcoin with it upwards. This causes the media to write articles about how much crypto has increased and spurs more people to buy, causing crypto to rise even further in an upward spiral.

So all in all, yes, it's a good thing for us that more people get interested.
