202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gold Coin (GLD) Info Thread - The Future of Digital Currency [NEW THREAD] on: June 12, 2013, 06:24:20 AM
I like the name of this coin because its finite just as gold is but the 500block reward is off putting, some one should create GLD 2.0 with 1min30sec blocks, Retarget every 1200blocks to prevent massive dumping, 50 coin block reward, and 500mil total coins. Start would have ascending block rewards from 10, 15, 25, 50. You guys start something like this and i'll be all over it

The retarget time has been decreased to less than that. If I knew how to make my own crypto-currency I would, but I don't have the knowledge. However, if you think about it a 500 block reward is just 10x of your 50 so the value is just 1/10th.
Yah I agree was thinking about it and retarget should be quicker maybe same as DGC they seem to prevent massive dumps with it. I think 50coins would be better to prevent GLD from inflating to fast like it has already done. Ohh another thing I would add is bonus blocks from 100-500coins random which would mimic real life mining like back during the old gold rush days.

The retarget has been decreased which should do what DGC does. 50 coins I don't think will make much of a difference. The bonus blocks would cause many people to bash the coin even further in my honest belief.

207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / What do you want to see in a new currency? on: June 12, 2013, 05:53:15 AM
What are you guys looking for in a new currency? I may go create my own, but I don't just want to create another coin that has a 2 month lifespan... I want to create something new that you guys want... so what do you want?

209  Other / Beginners & Help / Want Free Bitcoins? Use Your Address Here! on: June 12, 2013, 03:56:38 AM
Want free bitcoins? Check out the faucet list at bitcoinfaucetlist.blogspot.com. You just need to put in your address at the different faucets and you will be paid, most times in just a few hours. For someone with no bitcoins, putting your address in a faucet and seeing the transactions can be one of the most rewarding experiences. Have fun!
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Interesting Story I Heard on: June 12, 2013, 03:55:02 AM
So my dad told me this story of one of his friends who had an old refrigerator that they were trying to get rid of. They put it on the street, and put a sign on it saying free refrigerator. After a few days, after no one had taken it, the friend said, I understand, they think its worthless. So he put a sign on it that said, refrigerator for sale, $50. The next day it was gone.

I bet we can relate this to bitcoins somehow:)
211  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to Buy Goldcoins! on: June 12, 2013, 03:38:21 AM
Someone is interested in GLDCoin and has just put up a 370 LTC, nearly 1,000,000 GLD buy-wall on Cryptsy, with 2 other 70LTC buy-walls, one about the 1m buy-wall price and one slightly beneath it.

Edit 1: The price has gone up 19% since I originally made this topic asking you all to purchase it.

yeah its just the one numbnutz though: microguy....seems the lunatic has taken over the asylum Sad

212  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Gold Coin (GLD) Info Thread - The Future of Digital Currency [NEW THREAD] on: June 12, 2013, 03:35:24 AM
where the hell is the info about the specs on this coin?

Oh, that's on the old page, that the retard dev locked, so now it can never be bumped again, and will sink away into the abyss. But, smart people, mine GLD Roll Eyes  Besides, who needs specs, when its got gold in the name.

Specs have been received from developer and will be posted on this thread soon. Thank you guys for the info.
213  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to Buy Goldcoins! on: June 12, 2013, 01:54:00 AM
I have looked at the block explorer and determined the following 2 things.

1) No Pre-Mine was possible. The first block was generated HOURS after the first thread was posted in the alternate-cryptocurrencies section of this forum.
2) With that in mind, someone does hold a large number of coins. Some of them appear to be purchased, but many were mined. This person is still currently mining the coin, and doesn't appear to have sold any. There is a chance this is the developer, however, even if it is this 'person' started mining hours after the release of the coin and didn't even get close to all of the 200 blocks. This person is also still mining the coin despite the large decrease in difficulty making it much less profitable.
214  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to Buy Goldcoins! on: June 12, 2013, 01:29:27 AM
Do you guys have any proof of the pre-mine besides just saying it. The last time a thread was made about this, several people disproved it with pictures showing that they had mined some of the blocks that you guys said were "pre-mined"

Last I saw, the block chain indicated a bunch of the 10k blocks were mined by different people, but then sent to the same wallet address.

I'll look into that:)

lol the second day after it hit the exchange he did it, I'm him

Haha... then why does he go on his account and support the coin. Why don't you go on the account: gldcoin here, and say that your dubs?

rw3t? He's switched to digitalcoin. If he wants to leave the coin, that's his choice, however, it doesn't affect the rest of us.

The price you are asking for is more than 2x the cryptsy price, why would anyone do that?
