201  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: November 16, 2017, 01:28:35 AM

Maybe Jihan will stop spamming the BTC network. Those high fees are causing most chain hopping miners to mine BTC rather than BCH most of the time.
At the moment they pay a 0.00112219 BTC fee for 224 bytes of spam: https://blockchain.info/address/3P3Q9NUih139uAqD4KZ6aw3ztnNNUkhWYK

1 MB will cost them approx. 5 BTC. As long as he mines more than 29% of all blocks, he could play this game until he has to pay his eletricity bill. Roll Eyes

My wallet still won't sync.  Sad
My active connections are constantly changing from 0 up to 7.
I downloaded the blockchain and set it up.

Last block received was 197 days ago.
Active connections are constantly changing back to 0. Huh

Looks like you have old pre-harfork version.
If you want GPL, run v2.8.1.0-Zek
If you want free SCIFI, run v2.8.2.0-Swap

I have this..

Well, your Latinum is not gold pressed.

Guess you might try this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=610614.0  Wink
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore's ZCash AMD GPU Miner v12.6 (Windows/Linux) on: November 13, 2017, 12:53:28 AM
all shares on btg.suprnova are rejected Sad

Not only on Suprnova but the pool I've tried, https://pool.miningspeed.com/ has ZERO Bitcoin Gold miners, I think other pools are also having problems.
I think the problem is more severe than just a pool problem, looks like the whole network is kaput !

Here is what MiningSpeed say about it..
"Bitcoingold is currently currently premining till block 499407, after this block our stratum will boot and start mining, no ETA on this, hang on!"
btgpool.pro displays a similar message:
"Attention! Pool is currently waiting for BTG developers pre-mine ending and will be up shortly! Blockchain Height current value: 497066 / 499407 (2341 blocks left)"

Just sit and wait till the pre-mine is finished, I guess. Wink

Btw. who on earth just dumped 1.3 million QBT just before receiving his SCIFI? Insanity... Tongue

Excuse my ignorance, but how do you: 2) Send your (local wallet) address and signed message to vampirus.
Is it a message on bitcointalk or a signature you generate from the command line?

If it's a command line signature can you give instructions on how to do that on the wallet?
It's a combination of both. You will sign the message with your local wallet (to proof you own the address) and send the address/message/signature via bitcointalk to vampirus. So he can verify you are the owner of this address.

1) Sign the message

1.1) If you use the GUI wallet, click on "File" -> "Sign message...". A new windows will open.
- choose "Sign Message", the first line has to cointain your address, you can use the address book icon to select one (e.g. CMmRiBwDREzDweRDPmrVLFCdyVF46MfVrv)
- type a unique message in the box below your address (e.g. Hello vampirus, I confirm that I'm the owner of CMmRiBwDREzDweRDPmrVLFCdyVF46MfVrv. November 9th, 2017. Thank you, Dunkelheit667)
- click on "Sign Message", the signature will appear inside the third row (and a green "Message signed."), you will get an output like:
Code:
IFWq0LhAh7f9pFzZcjyyLMteqO6AL28D4kZU232/BFEEvhGJ86EkqCf1lPS+3UEofRom/CyoTgzS/tnKTnU31ws=
- you can use the icon on the right to copy this signature if needed

1.2) You can use the command line as well.
- signmessage CMmRiBwDREzDweRDPmrVLFCdyVF46MfVrv "Hello vampirus, I confirm that I'm the owner of CMmRiBwDREzDweRDPmrVLFCdyVF46MfVrv. November 9th, 2017. Thank you, Dunkelheit667"
- the response will be a signature

2) Send the address, message and signature to vampirus via bitcointalk private message.
I would suggest using the [ code ]-tag (it's the hash key in the post dialog) inside your pm, because the forum software might reformat your signature... this can cause trouble when verifying the message. Try code blocks like this for any unique address:

Code:
Address: CMmRiBwDREzDweRDPmrVLFCdyVF46MfVrv

Message: Hello vampirus, I confirm that I'm the owner of CMmRiBwDREzDweRDPmrVLFCdyVF46MfVrv. November 9th, 2017. Thank you, Dunkelheit667

Signature: IFWq0LhAh7f9pFzZcjyyLMteqO6AL28D4kZU232/BFEEvhGJ86EkqCf1lPS+3UEofRom/CyoTgzS/tnKTnU31ws=

3) Hint
To get all addresses with a balance, use "Send coins" -> "Coin Control", select "Tree Mode". Each row will contain one of your addresses with a balance > 0.

I hope this helps, cheers!

What happens to the QBT that you leave on Cryptopia Exchange?
Basically nothing. Cheesy

But...

In case your Cubits are on Cryptopia, you will not be able to sign a message (as the address is owned by Cryptopia).

If you want your SCIFI share, you have to move these coins to a local wallet (your address, you can sign it).

With other words, if you want some SCIFI, you should:
1) Move the QBT from Crytopia to your local wallet before February 1st.
2) Send your (local wallet) address and signed message to vampirus.
3) Wait till you received your SCIFI.
4) Send your QBT back to Cryptopia if desired.
5) Enjoy your new SCIFI.

Well, then...

I would vote for 3. Wink

If there is any chance to get the funding: 4.

Curious what the GPL hodlers will say (my stash is just some dust so to speak). Smiley
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [GPL] Gold Pressed Latinum 2.8.1 - Hardfork 01 Feb 2017 on: November 03, 2017, 01:21:22 AM
Would variant 4 really involve a delisting? From a technical point of view it's an update. Like... release the new version, ask them to update their client. The ticker and all can stay the same, just call the version GPL Grand Nagus edition or something. Huh

3 and 4 makes most sense for me, as PoSW seems to be kind of broken.

If 4 involves additional costs it's as good as 1, I guess.

Tricky!

edit: PoW seems to be broken, not PoS.

CEO of Credit Suisse taking over from Jamie, bitcoin is the “very definition of a bubble” - Tidjane Thiam.

I have to disagree, looks healthy to me:

What's going on?

We were not able to withraw US dollars from Bitfinex throughout the past few month, also if we were Germans or Swiss.

Is this issue in the menatime solved? Can we now again withraw dollars from Bitfinex?
Guess this was the last statement so far: https://www.bitfinex.com/posts/203

What about... Get some cheap BTC and withdraw them?  Huh

Mine wallet stakes fine

I have (18) connections as well, try these on the default port:

Grans Nagus Coin, just because! Cheesy

Gold Pressed Latinum POS would be more consistent, indeed.

I do not know what is wrong, but try use my database https://github.com/scificrypto/Federation-Credits/releases/download/v2.7.1/federationdatabase.zip
and again use --salvagewallet
That did the trick. The affected wallet shows ~ 6% less coins with your db, but I was able to transfer them without any issue. Smiley

Thanks a bunch!

Maybe you were mining UFC on that wallet when the fork happened?

I had a similar problem, and solved it using --salvagewallet.
Of course all coins mined after the fork are not valid on the post fork swap-chain (ufc2).

I must say, all swaps have gone smooth and exactly as planned/announced.
A big thanks to vampirus from me, even though I'm the smallest guy in every swap  Grin
I did mine before and after the fork and stopped using the affected wallet ~ one day after the fork. I've used a fresh downloaded UFC2 db afterwards for consolidating and stumbled on the stuck transaction(s). As you had similar issues the post fork mining transactions were for sure an issue (invalid, not rejected and therefore stuck) + looks like my db was somehow damaged in addition. I'm happy we were able to recover this wallet and got the UFC2 moving. Smiley

I totally second your thoughts about vampirus. He keeps our loved coins alive, created a new child (SCIFI) for us and is working through the swap process like the real Grand Nagus!

Hehe, I was as well pretty impressed regarding the amounts held by some of us brave scifi coin cultists. Wink

Dunkelheit667, do you use windows with my compiled wallet or compile yourself?
And give me more log file with creating transaction error.
I and gmerk send coins without problems.
And try start wallet with --salvagewallet option.
I'm using your latest compiled swap version from https://github.com/scificrypto/Federation-Credits/releases/download/v2.7.1/federationcredit27.zip on Win 10 Pro 64 bit to consolidate my UFC2.

--salvagewallet did help a bit, at least the stuck transactions are gone. Smiley But when I try to send some coins again... stuck.

I've uploaded the latest debug information to mega (as the file size was to big for pastebin):
Code:
https://mega.nz/#!dIZWwAQS!RO2pMxDEsWoNwjr6kyTHahLnRzKkC351WC8737UNy1I

db.log is empty.

Yes, I've managed to consolidate three wallets so far without any issues. Just the last one got these stuck transactions for any reason.

Thanks for checking! Smiley
217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] United SciFi Coin [SCIFI] PoW/PoS on: October 19, 2017, 03:26:29 PM
Ah thanks that did it. I had tried just make in thye leveldb directory but that made .so files only.

-MarkM-
Great, glad it worked on Ubuntu as well. Smiley

The swap blockchain is not moving, I tried to send on lump of 50 coins from one wallet to a new wallet to start cdonso9lidating coins, that was hours ago and it is still sitting at no confirmations so I cannot shut down and put in the next wallet I need to consolidate. Juat how many hours or days can we expect it to take per block?

-MarkM-
With UFCswap blockchain all fine, 1 block per minute, now 292693 block.
I'm stuck in the same situation as MarkM, not getting my transactions confirmed. Undecided But the chain is moving:

https://github.com/scificrypto/Federation-Credits
If something not working, try use windows and compiled wallet.

That looks like the URL of the main distribution, did you change that so everyone who clones the coin now gets this special swap version?

-MarkM-

I think you can checkout the swap version like this:
Code:
git clone https://github.com/scificrypto/Federation-Credits.git
cd Federation-Credits
git checkout v2.7.1

I've checked my install notes for previous versions and found I had to do some leveldb specific magic to get it running. I'm not using Ubuntu, but it might help, not sure:
Code:
cd src/leveldb
make clean && make libleveldb.a libmemenv.a
cd ..

Is last a wallet version? - Gsoil/v1.6.7-MMF-6d29146c/linux-amd64/go1.7.4

My wallet sees only 1 node:
Code:
addnode=37.120.184.125:39420

Zone/v1.6.1-MMF

I have executed these AddPeer, all the same only 1 connection.

It's just a guess, but try v1.6.1 or v1.6.4, most nodes seems to run on these versions? Might be a "glitch" with 1.6.7?

In case this doesn't help... maybe some upnp/network/firewall settings? I never understood how the Ethereum p2p stuff works. BTC is more straightforward at that part. Lips sealed
220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 🌱[ANN] SOIL | Environmental | Agriculture | Smart Contracts | Sustainable on: October 09, 2017, 10:09:55 PM
Looks like http://178.62.133.174:9001/#/util/peers filled up pretty well. Smiley

Just one observation. I can see my node in the list:
Code:
admin.addPeer("enode://b9456fcc4d24602dd1306fae582f0625378519acc23af4d178424c00d911baaadd899fb96b1e431e5ca66245087b641324208f3058839644bacb64b56814b115@51.15.130.151:39420

However, it's listening on port 30403 and not 39420. I think there was a change in one of the latest releases. Not sure if this matters at all... Huh
