Is there a roadmap from the development of this coin. I know it's been here forever , but what's cooking for the future ? v0.6 just released and we are currently focusing on that. However, we've been discussing what we'd like to accomplish for a while now. Official talks have started recently about what exactly we want to include in v0.7. Once developers come to consensus, we'll most likely release some kind of roadmap so the community knows what to expect from us in the future.

how can I disable minting?
I have
Minting should be disabled by default if your wallet is encrypted and you have done nothing to unlock it. If your wallet is unencrypted and contains coins in it, then minting should be activated by default. If that is the case, all you need to do is create a good password and encrypt your wallet, which will disable minting until you unlock it. Once the full blockchain has been downloaded though, then it shouldn't matter anymore and you can click "unlock wallet for minting only" to activate minting again. this is the problem -> if I start it it crashes after a few seconds not possible to encrypt it in this time.... is it possible to download the full blockchain (torrent or FTP)? thx Try going into your Peercoin folder and moving your wallet.dat file somewhere else. Then start the client again. This will create a new fresh wallet.dat file with no peercoin in it. Once the blockchain fully syncs, then place your original wallet.dat file back in the peercoin folder, replacing the new one that was created. If that doesn't solve the problem, please let us know.

Sunny_KingPeercoin Architect3h Congratulations on the v0.6 release! Impressive job from the Peercoin development team!
恭贺 0.6 版发布!祝 Peercoin团队 再接再厉,更上层楼!
It seems as if it was lost on everyone that Sunny just spoke mandarin for the first time. At least nobody has pointed it out yet.

Alright, the problem that some people have been experiencing has been identified. If your wallet is unencrypted then it mints block automatically. The problem some people were having is that they had an unencrypted wallet and it was trying to mint blocks before the blockchain was fully synced. Peerchemist says that they'll be working on a fix... In next point release (0.6.1) we'll fix this problem, basically we'll disable minting while wallet is syncing. That's what causing this problem.

Yes, this was known about already. They said it's fine and the tag annotation will be fixed properly with a post release, 0.6.1 later.

i installed download V0.6.0, by "About Peercoin" it shows: v0.4.0ppc-2108-gbcd7712 (V0.4.0) is that correct?
I believe this was brought up before, but I'm double checking for you. Let me ask the devs.

We will be making official announcements tomorrow, just so you all know. Keep an eye out for my post.

Hey guys, just a quick update. We had run into an issue producing gitian builds last week when everything was supposed to go live. The issue I believe has been solved now, so hopefully we shouldn’t be too much longer. I’m thinking within the next day or two, but we’ll keep you updated here. starting a slack Can I ask what is the problem with https://peercoin.chat? Is it the fact that registration is required before you can actually view the content of the chat? This is something that I don’t like as it creates an artificial barrier between our chat community and the outside crypto world, which results in less people seeing our content. RocketChat is supposedly working on a way to let you view the chat as a guest without requiring registration. There is also our Telegram channel, which lets the Telegram community see what is happening in the peercoin.chat general channel, since they’re both connected by bots. What is it about Slack that you believe makes it so valuable to hook into? Is it their large existing user base? Do they let you view the chat without requiring registration? Do you have any opinion on Gitter? improving the website
It has been known for a while now that we need to redesign and improve the website and content. It is just that nobody on the team has had time yet to focus on it. I have been working for the past several months on a design project for the team. It should be done some point soon. At that point I’ll turn my focus to the website. It will get done, but it will take some time still.

Hey guys. Sorry if there is any confusion. We are currently waiting on Sunny King to produce gitian builds for Windows and Linux. We're not sure when he will have the time to do this, but hopefully it will be soon. Consider this early access for those who know how to compile the source code. As soon as we have the builds though, we'll let everyone know so they can download and install.

Hi
Is Peerunity wallet still being used?
And if so where can I check to see if I have the latest version?
Thank you.
Peerunity support is ending with the release of v0.6 and all its features have been moved over to the main reference client. Keep watching this thread and we’ll let you know more soon.

Paramind22, the pool operator has still not responded to me. I tried forum, email and Twitter and nothing. I’m not sure what is up.
Also to everyone, once Windows and Linux builds are available we will provide instructions for upgrading.

Is the ecoining pool still up? Chrome won't let me log onto it because of something that expired.
Well, just check back one page here. I asked two good questions for the health of the coin and not one response.
Sorry, we tried contacting the pool operator for you back when you posted this, but we did not get a response. We will try contacting again. The pool seems to be up and running though. In the meantime, can you confirm whether login is still not working? Have you tried any other browser to see if that helps? I will report back to let you know if we were able to get a response from the pool runner. Also, I’m not sure if you associated health of the network with a lack of response or mining not working. Peercoin is secured through proof of stake only, so mining can’t effect the health of the network. Also as for lack of response, I explained above that we were not able to get a response from the pool operator. I should have responded here to let you know though, so I apologize for that. The team has been very busy lately getting the v0.6 release ready, so it unfortunately slipped my mind.

I can talk to the team about it, we’ll see. I guess there is no hurt in adding additional platforms.

Only 105 pages on bitcoin talk and there isn't a peercoin slack this has led too the community not being properly informed about peercoin which has led too the all time low price of peercoin vs bitcoin the community needs to do a much better job of informing the world about peercoin sooner or later the fundamentals behind peercoin will lead to a huge price rise any way
As m4nki posted above, most of our community communicates through either our forum https://talk.peercoin.net/ or our main chat hub: https://peercoin.chat/ The General channel of peercoin.chat is also connected with our Telegram channel: https://telegram.me/peercoin via bots so both sides can communicate with each other. It's better to sign up at peercoin.chat though as there are multiple other channels and our developers usually hang out there and answer questions. We chose the RocketChat platform rather than Slack because it is software we can host and run ourselves.
